    Moonshine upon moonshine
    Jamie H.

I paid $8 for the vip pass to get 9 moonshine tastings and 5 bourbon tastings. They were great! I dont know which is my favorite, but the slippery nipple was pretty damn good. The guy pouring the tastings was entertaining and included a "pickle shot" for my 13 and 10 yr old because they were curious. The only reason I would possibly mark it down is because my kids were bored while I stood around and drank. But ..its a moonshine tasting, so to mark them down for not being family friendly would be silly. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra 2 dollars and go vip

Great customer service! You get like 6 free tastings. You can make your own party pack of 6 shots or 12 or pick a pre made one. There are so many options. There are regular flavors, creams that would be good in coffee, and fruit and veggie ones i.e. pickle one. I really liked the espresso flavored bourbon one with butter pecan cream moonshine. They didn't have the bourbon or fruit/veggie in shot size. They have wine tasting in another room/side of the shop. The blackberry was my fav. The bottles avg about $25/bottle. Highly recommend!!!

Quite the interesting place. Definitely has a heavy southern theme, and oh yeah, "BIG SEXY" was in the house when we arrived! This was the third stop on our tasting tour. It didn't look like much walking up to this place, but wow did this place pack a punch. When we got in, another tasting session was midway through, so we were escorted over to the wine tasting section. There, we met "BIG SEXY"! This really funny gentleman who had a ton to say while he was pouring us some wine. When it was our turn for our moonshine tasting session, we said goodbye to "BIG SEXY" in the wine section and moved over to our moonshine tasting bar. Again, greeted by some truly authentic southern folks that were pouring us different moonshine cups. I was surprised with how flavorful everything was and how many we got to try. I think it was around 8 (the tastings were creeping up for sure). This was a super fun and generous place that we got to stop at!

Everything was amazing from our wonderful Beauty Queen looking host Jen to each of our whiskey tasting sessions! Regina was sweet, Bubba....hahaha,ohhh Bubba,he definitely made the tasting surprisingly wild with his raw humor and lastly Paul was very informative. Our group had a blast!!! We definitely recommend this tour!!

I've done them all.. I loved this place and yes even liked big sexy. He was good at what he does he sold us on what we wanted to drink. We ended up purchasing a lot of moonshine that night and samples were free. You pay a lot for samples at sugarlands and Ole Smokey but this place is free. I'd gladly pay here also because the product is that much better. Serious flavors that you can sip on at home Go visit! Best moonshine in the smokies!

Maybe "pet tolerant", but not "friendly": - hostess was visibly & audibly afraid of dogs. We have two sweet chocolate labs, not exactly menacing creatures. Why in the world would you send a dog-fearing employee to get us seated? - we expected an offer of a water bowl for our pups. Nope. Had to find a server and ask for one. - the outdoor area we sat at is enclosed & gated. A door separates this outdoor area from the inside dining room. In spite of this, 10 minutes after being seated, a separate employee came out and simply said "do yall have leashes?" 1- of course we do, you saw us walk them in. 2- no greeting or "hey, I'm blah blah"... cold & impersonal. 3- why bother with the cost of a gated enclosure if pets have to be leashed anyway? We've been to many pet-friendly restaurants. You are NOT pet-friendly. You happily took our money for the meal, and added a 20% gratuity yourselves (which was not earned btw), but you barely did enough to accommodate our pups, let alone be considered "friendly". We didn't feel they were welcome, and certainly no "friendly" environment experienced. We won't be back. See how Calhouns defines "pet friendly". Y'all might learn something. To diners with pups: You want "pet friendly"? Skip this place.

When you want to get drunk, but you also need your drink to look electric blue and taste like raspberry, you come here. I'm not the biggest fan of sweet drinks in general, and especially not sweet alcohol. But I wasn't about to pass up an opportunity to taste some of Old Forge Distillery's moonshine and gin. They also make vodka, whiskey and rum. The gin was good! It doesn't taste like traditional gin, because they age it in bourbon barrels, so it has a little bit of a caramel taste to it. (In my opinion.) The moonshine and the cream liqueurs are where you will find the crazy flavors. I think my favorite was the coffee moonshine, which tastes like a wonderfully spiked black coffee. Samples are plentiful. The bartender told us which ones were crowd favorites, and also recommended some that I would not have picked myself. They also have a huge gift shop with lots of tchotchkes, plus bottles of their goods to take home with you.

Really enjoyed our afternoon of drinking and fun. Some of the negative reviews are kind of dumb…read more(why would you think you could bring a toddler on this tour?). Yes, tastings are free at most of the wineries and distilleries in town, but you're paying to get to them all safely (and without the hassle of trying to park) and hit them all in the same day. And I witnessed firsthand that we got more options to sample than people who just came in off the street. It sounds like there used to be an issue with one winery not giving full samples, but they are no longer a stop on the tour. We hit around 9 places: -Smith distillery. We liked this place enough that we returned later in the week. Really great service. The sweet tea flavor was a favorite. -Applewood Farm (two stops with wine and cider). I preferred the cider, actually, and it was nice to try something different. The cider slushies were delicious. Time didn't allow us to return her, but if we stay in Pigeon Forge again, I'd like to explore the Farm a little bit more. -Most of the other wineries blurred together, which isn't a complaint. They served really similar wines and even had similar decor. Most specialize in sweet wines, which isn't normally my thing. Tasting them is still fun, though. We bought a couple of bottles along the way. -Old Forge Distillery. We missed the first half of the tour, but there were still a lot of samples, and we came back on our last day, did another tour, and bought some bottles. Oatmeal cookie and elderflower were two favorites. -Mill Bridge Winery. This was my favorite of the wineries. First, it was really pretty inside. The woman who led our tasting was very knowledgeable, and the range of wines was more unique. We bought a bottle of Indian Summer. -Tennessee Moonshine Company (with an attached winery for tasting). Maybe my least favorite of the distilleries, but it was still pretty good and had some unique flavors. -Junction 35. This place was way more modern than the other spots, and it was a good ending to the tour. We wound up coming back here, too. We enjoyed getting to know the other people on the tour. I think there were 22 of us total, which was a decent number. The bus was pretty hot/cramped, but I think that should be a given. We weren't on it for more than 15 minutes at a time, so it wasn't a big deal. I would definitely suggest this tour to other adults looking for a fun way to spend a few hours.
