    This smelled like Heaven
    Dathan C.

Most people love to hear, "this is bigger than expected!" Now I'm talking about food and events, what are YOU thinking about? *Wink* *wink* Anyways, inertia is a powerful thing which has stopped me from attending this event in the past, but when your house is an utter mess, you find distractions....like a large Japanese culture and food bazaar. I was pleasantly surprised at just how expansive this event was. Tenrikyo Bazaar is a single day, large event held in lower Nuuanu featuring various Japanese and bon dance style foods such as fried Yakisoba noodles, spam musubi, saimin, oden, fresh mochi, plate lunch, baked sale items, takoyaki, so on and so forth. In addition, there's a large rummage sale that is split with new items, plant sales, books, live music, mochi pounding, and games for kids. I got three ceramic plates to match one of my unmatched dinner plates for a mere $3 at the rummage sale. As I had already eaten lunch, I sprung for the special of two fresh mochi filled with black bean for $1.5 which my family devoured later that night at dinner. That said, I was tempted by the plate lunch and yakisoba as both smelled delicious. They do apparently tend to run out of certain items, so if you're dead set on specialty food or cultural products, best to go at opening. The Bazaar is script based, so scout out what you want beforehand to avoid overbuying. There is plenty of covered dining space as volunteers set up large tents for attendees. Parking is free on site, with nearby Kawanakoa Middle School handing overflow. Either come early or come late as this place gets busy. Next year, I'm coming for lunch.

    HCCF Christmas Party!

Attended the 2019 Hawaii Children's Cancer Foundation 20th Annual Christmas Party at the center for the second year at this place. It is a convenient place to host a large party. Beautiful landscaping and trees and paved parking with available lawn parking for a big event.

The heart for our church is unlike any other we've been to and that's why after 4 years we still call Vive Church our home. Be part of a church that can outlast a pandemic and can build more faith over fear. Our local pastors and global pastors are all about lifting each other up and building community. I love it because there are so many different ways to serve and that's one thing we are definitely good at. But again the heart why we do everything is something only you will learn by stepping in faith and joining a team to serve and build church. Vive Church is so special to us because I see how my 2 year old son is now worshipping with us and praying with us and just see his faith growing right before our eyes. We have a ROYAL KIDS program that teaches them so much about growing in their faith that it's hard for him to leave every Sunday because he loves it so much. I can't say how much I love the people at Vive and can't wait to meet more of you who are still looking for a church. We hope to meet you soon! Much Aloha!!! - The Dayaos
