The cost to wash your vehicle is ridiculous it's too high, the machines do not dispense the chemicals needed to perform a car wash. They only dispense water so your being ripped off because your being charged $8.00 to spray water on your vehicle. Management is not maintaining a safe environment for the customers due to the fact there is people that hang out at the car wash using drugs in their vehicles. This business has changed over the years and not for the better. The foam brushes are always almost working. It is dirty, not great water pressure and frankly just not worth the money. Also, lost money in the machines at 10 & Harrison many times with no on on duty to help. I now drive all the way to San Leandro to Village Car Wash where it cost less than half the money to wash the car. Like $5.00 will do it! Wash here at your own risk. Not only are the brushes horribly maintained and will scratch up your car like sandpaper, many of the stalls don't even have soap. The onsite manager abused me verbally when I informed him that the ceiling pipes were busted in 4 spots and stall four was completely out of soap. read more

Listen - I hope this serves as a warning about this place. There is a sign in the back of this place asking people for better yelp reviews and to ring the bell if you need anything. While I hate writing bad reviews, I also like warning people. I am happy to revise the review if they fix the problems. The first bay I pulled into said "Warning, the pump has no pressure" so I moved to the second one. I washed my car and noticed at the end another small sign that said the rinse cycle on that sprayer still has soap and there are no refunds. Now, after spending $10 my whole car is covered in spots. Been here a few times to wash my car and their self-service setup generally gets the job done on the cheap. I do have one gripe, which is that the vacuums stink, the suction is wimpy so while they get some of the dirt out it's almost not worth the effort. There was a time when this place wasn't terrible, but it has long passed now. There is a sign on the change machine that tells you how much they care about this place: "We go through 30,000 tokens per year, that's $30,000 of unused tokens, so you can see when someone complains about losing a $1 or 2 or if we get a complaint something doesn't work well we may not take it so seriously when customers are throwing away so much money." Translation: we get $30,000 FOR FREE every year from other customers, so we don't care whether you get ripped off or not because of our crap equipment. We can't believe you would expect us to maintain our equipment. I get that this is probably a rough business to be in, but they are actively telling customers they don't care. The biggest gripe is the equipment is just THRASHED, and never really fixed, just patched together a little longer. Often the "rinse setting" still pushes soap into the hose, so that you can't get your car clean, and you have to track down a hose to finish your wash. Some of the hoses spray water endlessly from the coupler at the base of the handle so you are get wet when you try and use the sprayer. The brushes can scratch your paint, and are long overdue for replacement. The change machine often doesn't work. I found someplace else to wash that car that seems to care about the business, so now that I've used my last tokens, I won't be back. read more

I was fooled by the 3 star rating. I was glad to find a self service car wash because my car is too low for automatic washes and SF hand washes are crazy expensive for weekly cleaning. I drove down, saw that 3 of the 4 bays were out of order, most of the change and vending machines were out of order, and it was $7 in tokens just to start the one questionably maintained machine that wasn't explicitly out of order I got back in my dirty car and drove away. In looking at the reviews, perhaps the owners used to care. They used to get decent reviews. But believe all the more current 1-start reviews. A respectable past mixed with an atrocious current may average out to three stars overall, but trust me, three stars is three too many. read more

This is a coin operated car wash that I have been using for years. I pulled in on Friday evening last week and pulled right back out again. This business has become totally unkept and unattended It looks as though it's extremely in need of upgrading. Even if ownership could not afford new equipment the existing structure and equipment could be cleaned and painted along with the stalls and building structure. Power washing the entire facility including the concrete for the entire lot and then applying a coat of garage floor paint or highway paint wouldn't cost that much and could be a DIY project for ownership. Close it for 2 days with signage announcing upgrades to the business and with a team of friends or even gathering up a group of willing to work homeless people (of which there are many) and this job could be turned over in 2 days. Choose the two slowest days or the work week with no rain in the forecast and a couple of pressure washer rentals along with some high power leaf blowers to dry the to be painted surfaces and this business could go from drab and on its way to closure for lack of business to vital in the community again. However as it stands now I would not recommend it to anyone unless it was your only option. It's dark dirty and overall feels uninviting and unsafe. THEIR FOAM BRUSHES WILL SCRATCH UP YOUR CAR. I took my car here for a quick wash and only used a foam brush with a water rinse. A few hours later I discovered scratches and swirls all over the paint and head/taillights. It ended up costing me about $400 to fix this situation at an auto detailer. Please learn from my mistake and avoid this car wash at all costs. NOTE: This was definitely from the brush because my car had absolutely no scratches prior to that, and I used proper towels for drying off a vehicle. Washing your car for $7 in the city is a great deal. This is a relatively clean, no frills, well-lit, 24-7 car wash facility located in the middle of SoMa at the corner of 10th Street and Harrison Streets. Though the prices have gone up a little recently (what hasn't in SF?) the site is under new management and everything seems to be working better, they've even repainted which was long overdue. I am giving one star for taking credit card and one star being one of the few self-serve car washes in SF. Otherwise, I was quite displeased with the spray pressure for both water and soap. I'm used to self-serve car washes where the water pressure actually sprays the dirt from the car. Here, the water pulses from the nozzle, hardly even dislodging the grime. It's no wonder that you need a minimum of 7 minutes to wash your car when the spray pressure is so poor. read more

I discovered Tenth & Harrison Car Wash while driving around town one day and I decided to give this place a try. The gentleman opporating this site is curteous and helpful. I was able to wash my car without having to bring my own car wash soap. You may want to bring a bucket in case you want to detail your tires & wheels. Oh and don't forget to bring something to dry your automobile off with. After all, they use hard water so you need to dry your car off sooner than later. This car wash is a complete rip off. Only two wash bays were open, but neither of these was functional at all -- put seven tokens in to start (the minimum) and no car wash. Additionally, the owner states plainly that if the equipment is not working, they are not responsible and will issue no refunds. A $20 minimum coin purchase was required. Unhoused citizens are allowed to park in the vacuum bays so those are not useable. The place feels unsafe and is a blight on San Francisco's business environment. read more

Had my car rinsed, soaped, washed, waxed for around $5.00, having convenient vending machines for $0.50 shammy's + tire scrubbers, glosses, vacuums. If you're looking for a decent priced prepaid premium car wash with all the right materials, this is the place to go! It's like an arcade for your car!
