Shopped around to get some body work done for an accident I got into and this shop did not disappoint! Service was excellent and getting an estimate was very easy. Michael & the lady in the office were very professional & helpful when assessing what work needed to be done. The estimate given to me was too good to pass up as they definitely wanted to save me as much money, while still making sure the necessary work needed to be done on my car. Mike even suggested getting rid of the oxidation build up on my headlights which had nothing to do with what I was going there for, but they definitely wanted to take care of that for me for the low! I was able to bring my car a couple days after estimate (since it was the weekend) and repairs were completed the next day. I was referred to Tepa Autobody via a close friend / business owner to have the fender wheels on my chevelle cut to fit my new wheels. When I arrived, the owner took the time to look at my car, make the best decision with the least amount of risk to my paint without trying to sell me a new paint job - he just told me go drive it and have fun when you need it do it later. I was quoted an hourly rate ( told a few hours) couple hundred bucks and when I arrived I owed him $200.00 which i thought was more than fair no surprises. In 2017 I decided I wanted to paint my car after a few incidents where it was damaged in parking lots. I took quite a bit of time to do my research, and early last year I decided to go with Tepa Auto Body after seeing their reviews. Unfortunately, my experience hasn't been what I expected at all, and I regret not going elsewhere. When I brought my car in last March, I was told by Michael, the owner, that the job would take two weeks. Michael went over the process of the project, and gave me a quote. Everything sounded great, so I decided to move forward. I figured this would be simple since I merely wanted my car re-painted the OEM color, nothing outlandish or fancy. I dropped the car off a week later and made arrangements for a rental. Michael promised to send pictures of the car as the project progressed. The first sign of trouble arrived when nearly two weeks had passed and I received no email with pictures or an update of any sort. I figured the shop was just busy and I decided it didn't matter as long as the car was done on time. Unfortunately, the two-week mark arrived a couple days later and I still didn't receive an email or phone call. I was forced to extend my car rental by another week. After three weeks of waiting, I get the call that my car is ready. I was dropped off at the shop, and upon first glance at my car I see two huge scuff marks on the back bumper, clear as day. Seeing as how I had already dropped off my rental and I had to be at work in an hour, I decided to just take the car and point out the issue to Michael later in the day since he wasn't in the office yet. I paid my bill with the secretary and left for work. During my lunch break that day I decided to take a closer look, and much to my dismay the car had a number of glaring issues in addition to the bumper. First and foremost, Tepa painted all the way down to the undercarriage instead of just the body, creating an ugly and incorrect look that should've been apparent upon inspection. Parts of the undercarriage that were black before were now painted silver. Next, I noticed that many parts of the body just above the undercarriage had significant amounts of overspray all over. You could easily see, and physically feel, the accumulation of the paint. Lastly, my driver-side door seemed to get caught on something when closing, preventing me from completely closing the door unless I really put some muscle in it. To be fair, this doesn't always happen, but nearly a year later it pops up at least once a day. After my lunch break, I emailed Michael about the problems. He had me bring the car in on a Saturday, and the cosmetic issues (bumper, undercarriage, and overspray) were fixed that same afternoon. Everything was fine for about two months until I took my car to get detailed. I had been to this particular detailer many times before, including at least twice since I got the car back. When they were done, a huge swath of paint was missing from the driver side fender. Extremely upset, I emailed Michael to tell him about what happened with the car wash. I also pointed out I had recently noticed that in many places, especially on the passenger side, that the car's paint didn't shine flat and looked rippled. This is commonly known as "orange peel" and is something I am now all too familiar with, unfortunately. Besides the missing paint and orange peel, I also noticed two spots of paint chipping on the driver door and another on the hood. He told me to bring the car in again. A week later the fender looked good as new, but none of the other issues were addressed at all. Michael wasn't in the shop that morning, so I took my car back, feeling defeated and just wanting to move on from this frustrating experience. I figured I could just live with the other stuff. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be the last of my problems. As mentioned above, the second time I brought my car back I told Michael about the three paint chips. He tried to play it off by saying it was likely caused by being hit by a driver or road debris, but in all my time driving I've never seen car paint peel like this from being hit, nor do I see any scuffs or dents from contact. Regardless, he said they would be fixed but they weren't. Since fall began, I've noticed even more of these chips appearing all over the car, mainly the hood and especially the passenger fender (I suppose that makes sense seeing what happened to the other fender previously). It's gotten so bad I'm fearful of washing my car and making the chips bigger. It hasn't even been one year yet. I was thinking of contacting Tepa yet again, but at this point I'm fed up with everything and don't have any faith that my problems will be corrected. I get the feeling because I came in with a plain 2002 Toyota, as opposed to something flashy like a newer Mercedes or a muscle car, Tepa decided to put the "second string" painter(s) on my car as practice. I just have to give a great shout out to Stephanie, of Tepa Auto Body. I took my Honda there for an estimate for removing paint and scratches in preparation for sale. Stephanie went inside and came back out with a rag and removed the scratches completely. She wouldn't take any money and was so nice. I had been to another auto body shop in Brentwood the previous day, and they wanted to charge me $1500! There are not enough words to describe how amazing TEPA is. They went above and beyond for my car after I had an unfortunate accident that took out my side mirror. Mike, the owner, gave me a thorough explanation and breakdown of what needed to be done for my car, as well as the estimates for the repairs. 5 week quote turned into 6 months of labor. It's a good thing I had a secondary car or the rental would have been nuts.. My suggestion to you... Stay on top of this shop.... They can paint, but if you don't go there in person to make sure they are working on your car it may take longer than normal. Towards the end Michael really started working with me and kept me informed. My car was not an easy job but they pulled it off. If they had just kept me updated from the start of issues they ran into I wouldn't have gone to the BBB. Had an issue with license plate being loose and it fell and scratched the fresh paint. Also the front bumper and side skirts were a lighter color than the rest of the car. I called Michael and he had me come back in and he took care of it. Hit a dresser that fell of a truck... Finally getting my whole front end fixed. Mike is the kinda guy that will drive to stockton(1 hour away) to personally pickup a part to make sure you get your car the same day.... Hands down still the best body shop in the area with the best prices. Nice people, my van had a sliding door that was stuck closed. They replaced the latch which allows the door to automatically open but I have to manually close it. I will return in a couple weeks to replace another part to fully fix the sliding door. Removed a star because my car was left filthy with so much dust all over it. I had just washed and cleaned my van before the repair so to receive it after the repair with so much dust inside and out was very disappointing. I'm now getting a detailed car wash to clean it, it's that bad. I did call Tepa Auto to let them know about the dust problem. The woman on the phone mentioned it's from the guys doing a certain type of work in the shop and, it happens from the fans blowing the dust away. I hope this doesn't happen next time I go in for the second repair. She said the guys wear masks and the fans help keep the dust away from them while they work. She offered to clean it, I declined. I don't know exactly what the dust is from but if the guys in the shop are doing what they can to avoid this dust by wearing masks and having fans, I certainty don't want it all over and in my van. I have to wash all the car seats and can't touch anything in my car without getting gray dust on my fingers. read more

Im a college student on a budget, and the owner always helps me out the 2 times I've been here. First time i bought a front and back bumper to be painted and installed. Even though it turned out being more work than just installing, he stayed true to his price. 2nd time my moms red truck got hit by some drivers racing on highway 4 "then left". A couple months ago I hit a pole and had a pretty bad back bumper hit on top of that my the front and back left lights were not working. Went in to Tepa Auto Body shop to get a quote and I was surprised on how reasonable their prices were with everything we wanted fixed. We dropped the car off on a Tuesday and it was ready to pick up that Saturday. When I went in to pick up the car I was very happy and surprised how great of a job they did. Thy fixed the head and tail lights we got a new bumper and on top of that they covered our fog light and buffed out a couple of scratches we had on the side of the car.
