It's a great little spot outside a bookstore, the best thing besides The coffee is that they support the community, homies to homies The cafe de olla was delicious like grandmas, I overheated the pan dulce always runs out The workers were smiley and chatty with each other. But was on a timely manner Great little sport Pet friendly

Latino owned Tepito Coffee recently celebrated its 3-year anniversary in Pasadena with a bash! Out front cool cars were on display and there was a DJ spinning tunes. Inside they were giving away free Homeboy Coffee cake with purchase and selling limited edition Tees designed by Estevan Oriol, who was also at the event along with reps from Homeboy Industries, which is a great organization. It's adjacent to Vroman's so you can enter through the bookstore or on Colorado. This place has been on my radar and I'm grateful my darling girls invited me to join them so I could finally check it out. Our order consisted of: Adelita Latte, Horchata Latte, Café de Olla & a Jalapeño Croissant. Both lattes had a nice balance of coffee, milk, & spices. Neither one was too sweet. The Café de Olla was also lovely - bold, smooth, with a hint of orange & spices. The croissant was soft, fresh, & yummy. We also received a complimentary slice of Homeboy Coffee Cake, which I love! Tepito uses coffee beans that are grown and produced by Pecora 1909 in Veracruz, Mexico. You can taste the quality in the brew. Their partnership with Homeboy led me to do a little more research on this company where I learned about their Homie2Homie monthly gathering. It's a great supportive platform for the Latino community. This makes me happy to support this company and I wish them continued success.

Tepito Coffee is adjacent to Vroman's bookstore. There's some indoor seating, perfect for doing some studying. I waited about fifteen minutes for my drink which was a bit longer than I had anticipated for a Wednesday afternoon. I got the Mocha, but I felt like the sweetness was too overpowering. I would probably get something else and give Tepitos another try next time!

Delicious coffee crafted from beans harvested in Veracruz. Wonderful location perfectly adjoined to a bookstore. Service was prompt and amicable. Space was clean and orderly, do try!

You need to change the size of your regular size. The cappuccino is outrageously small for seven dollars!! The espresso was not strong. It was weak. Also, they only have one espresso maker, which means only one cup of coffee can be made at a time. I think I waited over 10 minutes for this tiny little cappuccino.

I've been wanting to support this coffee business for some time now and finally made it. The owner has a great story and I'm a fan. He also partners with Homeboy Industries. I'm so digging the vibe, love the decor, colors and music. There were many patrons working at tables as well as those just enjoying their drinks. I ordered the large hot latte with a dash of cinnamon. It wasn't bad at all however a tad on the pricy side for an $8 cup. The latte tasted good just more of milk for me liking. It's inside of the Vroman's bookstore and has its own entrance on Colorado and also accessible through the bookstore. Plenty of free parking behind in the lot. The make Barista was attentive to those waking in and out and made a great effort welcoming and bidding farewell. I'll be back to try my drink again.

3/29/25 This coffee & tea house (Tepito) is attached to Vromans, entrance facing Colorado Blvd, convenient. Clean, fairly quiet with a few indoor & a couple of outdoor seating. Simple. Efficient staff, as one was closing up & another took my order & crafted my mocha latte. There are a few pastries offered in the glass case, looks good. My mocha latte was ready in about 5 minutes, it was a bit plain, the mocha flavor did not shine through. Maybe next time I will have it customized further so I may enjoy it more. A few patrons are hanging out inside the small cafe. The other entrance/exit leads to inside of Vromans Bookstore. Would likely return to this shop when I'm in Pasadena while checking out the bookstore next door. I like the vibe in here.

Tepito is an adorable Latino-owned coffee shop inside the oldest independent bookstore in SoCal, @vromansbookstore! It was absolutely one of my favorite spots yet. I've lived in LA for fourteen years and still hadn't ever been here! It was honestly even better than the hype. It was HUGE, and the kids area upstairs was amazing. They have such a great variety of books and games/toys, and even have a weekly story time on Wednesdays! It felt like the kind of place you could really sit and enjoy your book. The coffee shop was an amazing addition! It's right inside, with a pretty large coffee menu and a few pastries. Absolutely come here with any age kid to read and play while you enjoy your coffee!

I really enjoyed the coffee, since it was my first time I asked what do they recommend they gave me their recommendations very helpful no attitude at all. So I give the customer service a 10 out of 10 even the other people that were working there were so friendly and saying hello there is space for you to sit down and study and there's also books store right next to it so if you wanna go buy a book and then go to the coffee shop and read your book. It is a very good place to have me time. I did not try the food because I was not hungry, but they do have pastries there as well. Definitely recommend stop by if you're in the Pasadena area.

Service with a smile No, the parterres are good though. So is the coffee. The coffee shop with doors to Vromans bookstore has changed names and is in a great location. I was waiting for my car being serviced so I thought id stop and get some coffee. The playhouse coffee spot is gone so I was walking and remembered the bookstore has a coffee spot . When I arrived I ordered the Churro croissant and coffee. The house coffee is great. The churro was covered in sugar so what do expect, and I also decided on a banananut muffin. The muffin was better as not so sweet . Tab was just under $16. They also advertise burritos. With tan, brown and yellow decor outside, seating is comfortable especially on nice day. There is inside seating . If your getting a book or waiting for you car being serviced it's a good spot.

Came here on a surprised day off, visiting one of my favorite city-- Pasadena. Definitely support small businesses during this wildfire time. Small shop located in a bookstore, very clean and cozy. Welcoming vibe and friendly staffs, the girls are super sweet. Adelita latte is recommended and I'm not disappointed. It's mellow, not too sweet and heart calming in a nice afternoon.

I stopped by this spot after a local recommended it as having one of the best matchas in Pasadena,…read moreand it definitely got me in the spirit to watch the new Minions and Monsters movie tomorrow! The Build: I ordered the banana cream matcha, which features a rich matcha base with standard oat milk, topped with a heavenly layer of banana cream and tiny, mysterious crunchy pieces. The Flavor Profile: Taste-wise, the drink was absolutely heavenly. The matcha itself was wonderfully rich, and mixing in the banana cream took it to the next level, while the crunchy toppings added a really nice occasional texture. The only real letdown was the size, the cup was just so tiny for an $8 price tag. Even though the flavors were incredible, it felt a bit hard to justify the steep cost for such a small portion. The Verdict: While the major price tag means this won't be an everyday habit, the solid flavors and super fast, friendly service make it a perfect spot for a little treat every once in a while. The staff had my drink out almost instantly around 10 AM on a Tuesday, and since I live so close, I'll definitely be back occasionally when I want to spoil myself.

We got the mango matcha rain, banana cream matcha, and banana latte. For $7-8 per drink, you get a very SMALL sized cup, I believe it's a 12 oz. Although oat milk is the standard for the matcha drinks, the price for such a small cup was not worth it. For the drinks itself, not sure what kind of matcha powder they are using but it doesn't seem to be grade quality. The banana latte also tasted like milk. Interior wise, plenty of tables & seating. Great for a study spot with ample street parking. Overall, for the price, quality, and sizes, I unfortunately will not be returning.

I usually like to take my drinks to go so I can grab a pain au chocolat at C.A.R down the street but sometimes I'll linger if a table opens up. They team up with different microbakeries on weekends to host popups, my fave being crumbs and flakes, so that keeps the pastry rotation interesting. My drink of choice now, having tried a few items off the menu, will forever be their gui hua (osmanthus) latte. No one can convince me otherwise. Everyone I know who has tried it, has loved it. While there are a ton of hyped coffee shops and cafes, this one is definitely not one of them.
