Our hibachi chef was absolutely AMAZING! Not only was the cooking entertaining, but the food was delicious, fresh, and cooked perfectly. They also did an incredible job catering to all of our food needs and dietary restrictions, making sure everyone at the table could enjoy their meal without worry. Few things recharge a human after a day spent walking humid, hot streets than salty Japanese food paired with perfect Japanese lager. On one of Orlando's hottest days this year, we chose EPCOT. As the heat began to break down our party's will to live, we began to think of lunch. But what to have in this theme park filled with culinary delights? The British Pub was booked out. German sausages and American barbeque were too heavy for the weather. As the heat began to turn tired and hungry into exhausted and hangry, we took the next opportunity we happened upon and inquired at the check-in desk in Japan. Moments later, we were whisked down a long hallway of sub-divided Japanese shoji-clad (but probably not really) rooms and seated for our lunch. The polite and attentive staff took drink and appetizer orders. After quickly consuming ice-cold water and a few sips of the always-delightful Sapporo, we were presented with ginger-dressed salads and my takoyaki appetizer. Now just let me take a moment. Takoyaki is octopus dumpling. I first came upon this amazing food while living in Hawaii and I was so excited to see it on this menu. And it totally holds up! Don't recoil at the idea of eating octopus. I've had straight-up grilled octopus before, and it's quite delicious, but in dumpling form with its crispy outer bread crust and creamy filling, it is MAGICAL. If I had one criticism, it's that there's not a lot of octopus in each dumpling, maybe a small piece or two. What I do wonder is whether that's a cost-savings approach, or if it's meant to broaden the appeal for the adventurous eater to proudly proclaim their brave love of octopus. Either way, a bit more octopus would be welcome! Around this same time our chef entered and began to prepare the main meal, starting with delicious grilled vegetables and udon noodles. After a hot day in the park, the freshly-cooked veg was hugely restorative (as was the aforementioned salad). Most of our party ordered the steak and chicken combo, which was an enormous amount of food, with probably 3/4 of a pound of meat. It's a lot of food. And, of course, super delicious. Our chef was fun and lively, though I don't really care much for the showy aspect of American teppanyaki (I researched this once and learned that teppan in Japan is a very serious, formal meal. I'm not surprised to learn the American interpretation is nowhere near authentic). Desserts are offered, comprising multiple matcha choices which we didn't indulge, due to the volume of food in the preceding courses. This is not an inexpensive experience. But fresh-cooked real food in a theme park is hard to come by, and taking the time to experience an actual meal over the course of an hour or two was a much-needed break. I would also suggest that, taking my logic one step further, investing in a restful meal may actually encourage you to spend more time in the park than you might otherwise, perhaps improving its overall value. read more

It has been over 10 years since we last visited Teppan Edo. This is the hibachi style restaurant located in Epcot at Walt Disney World, in the Japan pavilion. Something to note is this is group seating, so you might be seated with a different party. Their atmosphere is non existent once you get seated. It is lots of tables in a row all in little room sections. It is very standard Teppanyaki restaurant. I personally came here a lot as a child but as a adult, I will say there are places outside Disney with the same theming, food everything and are a little cheaper. Teppan Edo is a Disney restaurant so prices will always be higher. I personally don't think it's the best value when comparing it to my local Hibachi restaurant. For the food, everything is cooked right in front of you, which is the best part of the meal! It is a fun experience but your experience can be based off your teppanyaki chef and others at your table. Please interact with the chef! We came back recently, to do a dining package for preferred seating for the Flower and Garden Concert Series. For this package it came with an entree, dessert and then a drink (soda or alcohol). I will say it was a lot of food and doing this package does cost you more than just purchasing it alone. But you also get preferred seating for the show. Service is always fantastic, has always been! Last visit, we loved our chef and server. Both ladies were extremely friendly, chatted, told us about themselves and kept our drinks and rice full! They kept bringing rice out. Their menu includes appetizers, sushi and entrees along with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Your entree includes vegetables mixed with udon noodles, white rice and a garden salad as well as the entree protein that was chosen. They will also give you 2 sauces, ginger and a white sauce. Both are actually really good. My husband and I both chose the steak and shrimp which was seasoned great, cooked perfectly and was really good. I will say the portions are smaller than many moons ago, however, as I get older its fine. But again, you might find a better valued dinner at your local hibachi. The last time we visited I did feel the portions were extremely small and I will say I think they have increased some. I do absolutely love this type of food. I don't think this will be a stop we make often because of the value, and because there are just so many Disney places to visit. However, if you are in the mood for this type of food I would say check it out. This is great for large families, kids and such. Looking through the Disney World mobile application, I was looking at restaurant availability on a Tuesday evening for a reservation for 1. There wasn't many options available, but Teppan Edo was one restaurant that had availability. My reservation was for 6:30, but I arrived at 6:10 for check in. The team member had informed me that once the table was ready, I would receive a text message to go into the restaurant. When I received the text message, I went to the left entrance of the building for Teppan Edo. Teppan Edo is a teppanyaki style restaurant located in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot in Walt Disney World. The inside of the restaurant was modern and spacious. The team member whom brought us to the table provided us with menu options. I ended up getting a combo - chicken and steak (Filet Mignon) for my meal. You could choose other options like shrimp. The orders were also provided with vegetables and serviced with rice and dipping sauces. Chefs prepare meals right at the table on large, sizzling iron griddles. I was with two other families for the experience. The chef at my table had performed tricks like flipping utensils, creating steaming onion volcanoes, and performing knife skills. Unfortunately, when the chicken was done, I saw that there was a shrimp tail in my food. I couldn't eat the chicken or steak. The rice and side salad that was provided earlier was good though. The restaurant experience was fantastic. It was a welcoming atmosphere and it was immersive! I just couldn't eat the food after the shrimp tail was mixed in with the chicken. Teppan Edo at Epcot was an absolute highlight of our trip. The food tasted amazing and the service was truly outstanding. What really made this feel special was how authentic the experience was. All of the staff, including the chefs, are Japanese, and it genuinely felt like we were transported to Japan. It had a completely different and more authentic vibe compared to places like Benihana. They do not serve fried rice, but honestly, we did not miss it at all. The stir fried udon was delicious, and they still serve rice with the meal, which was perfect. Everything we had was flavorful and cooked beautifully right in front of us. The interior is great, the atmosphere is fun and immersive, and the pricing was better than I expected for a restaurant inside Disney World. Overall, I really could not complain about anything. Teppan Edo is in Epcot's Japan Pavilion. Easily one of the top entertaining and delicious dining experiences in the park! The teppanyaki-style dining is both a show and a meal. Every chef we have had here has been amazing -- funny, skilled, and made the whole table laugh while cooking everything to perfection. Be prepared to sit with other groups if you don't fill the table! With your meal, you get a small salad to start, and then the noodles and white rice with your meal. Both delicious. For the main, my go-to is the steak and shrimp. A few sauce options to choose from too. For a while, I would stick to just the core options, as it is very filling, but once I tried the volcano roll, there is no going back. I crave it all the time!! The staff is attentive, kind, and incredibly efficient. It's a great break from the busy park, and you leave feeling like you had both a meal and an experience. If you're looking for a dining option that combines amazing food, great service, and a touch of showmanship, Teppan Edo is an excellent option. read more

My wife and I have not visited Teppan Edo is probably 12 years. We do prefer our local hibachi restaurant for the amount of food you receive but it was a nice time to head back to Teppan Edo. This is located at Epcot, in the Japan pavilion. It is on the second floor, there are stairs outside as well as an elevator. I would also note that you might be seated with others as this is a hibachi style dining with about 10 seats around a large flattop grill. Again, we do prefer the value at our local hibachi restaurant since we get more food there and at a less cost, however we decided to come back here for a dining package during the Flower and Garden concert series. This is a set price that comes with an entree, dessert and drink (alcohol included) as well as reserved closer seating for the concert. We were a little concerned since it was one of the higher cost restaurants included in the dining package. If you order correctly you can get the most out of that package. We paid about $15 more than ordering without the package. In reality we would not have ordered dessert either so it would have been about $25-$30 cheaper without getting the dining package. However, you get to go into the theatre first, so your seat is guaranteed and you usually get closer seating. If there is someone we really want to see, we are always doing this package. The food is cooked right at your table, in front of you. It is the best part of the meal. The food is actually pretty good as well. I think it has improved quality and taste since the last time we visited. This is a fun experience for the family but your experience can depend on the chef and others at your table. Your meal includes vegetables mixed with udon noodles, white rice and a garden salad as well as the entree protein that was chosen. They have single options such as steak or chicken or combos. I would prefer to have more of the vegetables in larger size as opposed to the thin strips they use to mix with the udon noodles. Service is always fantastic, the cast members are always friendly, ready to help, willing to describe anything to you and overall are just really great. This past visit, we loved our chef and server. Both ladies were extremely friendly, chatted with the table, told us all about themselves, where they were from and also kept our drinks and rice full! I personally love this type of meal and food. I always think I could eat this everyday. The food is great. Im not sure if this will be a stop we have to go to every year, we do prefer our local hibachi, however, the food here is great. It is a nice spot to sit, have a great meal and enjoy the ambiance. It was a little loud this last time, mostly due to another table being intoxicated and very loud. But this is fun dining. I can still remember coming here with my parents when I was just 7 years old. What's wild is that my kids are almost that same age! We had dinner reservations at Teppan Edo in EPCOT at Walt Disney World, which we made the day before. Reservations require prepayment, and for four of us (two adults and two kids) the total came out to around $170. The food, unfortunately, was very bland. There was an overwhelming amount of tapioca in the dishes, and the sauces were disappointing. As someone who loves bold flavor, I was really hoping for a good garlic sauce or a hot and spicy option, but none of them really stood out. You're served white rice instead of fried rice, and while you do get noodles, the vegetables were cut extremely small, which felt very different from the traditional teppanyaki style I'm used to with larger, fresher cuts. Our server, Lina, was pleasant and attentive, checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The chef, Taka (T-A-K-A) did a nice job entertaining the kids, which I appreciated. He did a few tricks when serving the noodles, but nothing too elaborate compared to other teppanyaki experiences I've had with more interaction and showmanship. The ambiance is exactly what you'd expect for teppanyaki-style dining: you're seated at a shared table with guests who are not part of your group, which is totally fine. However, the noise level was extremely loud. It was difficult to have a normal conversation, and even while ordering, we found ourselves having to practically yell across the table. Between the surrounding tables, the cooking sounds, and the general crowd noise, it was hard to hear much -- even while the chef was preparing the food. Visually, the atmosphere is still a highlight. Being in the Japan Pavilion is really cool, and walking up to the building truly makes you feel like you've stepped into Japan. From the outside, it looks like you might get a great view of the park, but unfortunately, we were seated in the back with no view, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't memorable. Between the price point, the bland flavors, the noise level, and the limited teppanyaki experience, I'd give Teppan Edo a solid 3 out of 5 stars. read more

Dining at Hibachi is always a delightful experience, especially for families. Watching the chefs prepare the food right before your eyes is incredibly entertaining. Because the restaurant is often busy, we recommend arriving early or making a reservation through your Disney app. The steak and shrimp are consistently cooked perfectly. The sushi, however, is exceptionally refreshing, incredibly fresh, and melts in your mouth. Please come with an appetite! It's certainly our preferred choice for an enjoyable dinner. It can be a bit crowded, so you may need to leave your stroller outside. The tables are close together. This was my favorite meal of our Disney trip! 4 things that were a hit: 1) our chef Tomo from Jacksonville! He expertly prepared our meals and had many funny jokes. Maybe one of our favorite moments was when he tapped his tongs on the grill "tap-tap-tap-tap-tap", and another chef in an adjacent room responded with the tail end to the beat "tap-tap!", you know, like one of those Bugs Bunny tunes at the end of a joke. 2) plentiful array of food that you get with each entree. I enjoyed the salmon, and it comes with stir fry udon, white rice, salad or soup, and sauces. I'm used to getting only noodles or rice. 3) extensive drink list. My Paris Breeze cocktail was fruity, strong, and hit the spot! 4) the "show" during the cook prep, where the chef does tricks like flip veggies into their hats and draw Mickey Mouse characters in oil on the grill (part of their contract, LOL). The bill added up fast; after all was said and done, we were $250 lighter, but it was worth the vacation splurge! Last note is that though we had a reservation, we still had to wait about 20 minutes for our seats to be ready, so that was a bit unexpected. read more

Let me just start by saying this is the best Disney restaurant I've ever been to. This was my husband and my mini moon and it was one of the best dinners we had in a long time. We ordered the specialty premium combination platter, which had A4 Wagyu steak and shrimp and it was delicious. I have never had A4 Wagyu before and I know regular steak is ruined for me now because of this dinner. They started off with a salad, and then they began the hibachi style dinner where they cooked vegetables, udon noodles, and our main course. The vegetables included udon, carrots, onions, and zucchini, and it was delicious. Nothing was over seasoned or too salty, which can sometimes happen as hibachi style restaurants. Our chef Tomo recommended getting our Wagyu cooked medium rare, now after a lot of of investigation online we were under the impression we needed to have it cooked rare for it to be the best quality and taste, but we trusted the chef and it did not disappoint. The Wagyu was so delicious and melted in your mouth. My husband and I could not get enough we were so satisfied with our meal. I think our next try of Wagyu we will try it rare just to compare. The staff was extremely friendly and I cannot wait to go back. We also really loved a lot of their cocktails that they have. They even have some with Japanese style whiskey, and my husband and I being whiskey drinkers were super impressed with their combinations of cocktails. This was my favorite restaurant at Epcot! We stoped at a few places for small snacks and a drink but ate here for dinner because we were in the mood for Japanese food. I got the chicken hibachi and a lavender sake. Both were very very good. You do have to add yourself to a waitlist in the Disney app but it's worth it if you get in for the experience. I am an avid teppan edo fan and go everytime were in disney. Its one of my favourite hibachi places and the staff are very fun and knowledgeable and make a great meal. As it is a shared seating restaurant (10 per table you will sit with other people) that can sometimes be hit or miss. Recently we were sat with a big group who split between two tables and they decided to leave all of their kids with us which was interesting for sure. It was slightly hard to enjoy our meal while feeling responsible for a plethora of other peoples kids. It think they could implement a one adult per party per table rule or something to avoid this possibly. Overall though usually a wonderful place. read more

This is one of my two favorite restaurants to visit at the Disney resorts, located in Epcot. For a decent experience, without drinks, expect to spend about $75-$100 per person with 20% tip and allow at least an hour. My kids have severe peanut and treenut allergies and are able to eat here safely which is very important for us. It might not be for everyone due to the price, but the experience is well worth it. They cook the food right in front of you (hibachi). The chefs are entertainers too, moving with quick but steady hands flipping around spatulas, salt/pepper shakers, they express Mickey and Olaf creativity while cooking the meal for your enjoyment. So far eating here, we've had had steak, filet mignon, chicken, shrimp, salmon, and lobster - all excellently prepared and cooked and the flavors are amazing. It comes with a salad, can get some appetizers (I like the miso soup), a bowl of rice, and a bowl of noodles and veggies (cooked on the hibachi). Chop sticks are provided, chop stick helpers for the chop-stick-challenged are available upon request, but you can also get regular spoon/fork if that's more your style. This review is based on rude customer service at end of my dinner. During the drink orders I asked for an orange slice and mint sprig for my water. I had to ask twice. When I received the bill I was charged $4.25 for orange juice. I asked the woman who was collecting payment what this charge was for because I did not order orange juice. She pointed to the orange slices in my water. I said no one charges for that and said I will take it out of the tip. She said she will be back. We did not ask to talk to any manager, but moments later an angry and confrontational, manager large white male returned. He repeated what I told the cashier. I said again no one charges for that. My wife then repeated what I said and also said the person who took drink orders did not disclose the charge. He rudely said he would not remove the charge and "tipped shamed" me in front of other customers still seated at the table. Then he stormed off. We just spent $150. We ordered an appetizer, two entrees and two drinks. Here's my receipt. I dine out all the time, I honestly have never been charged for something like this. I am okay paying for any charge I am made aware of prior to it showing up on my bill. This restaurant doesn't even have a line item in their POS system for "garnish". We previously ate at Shiki Sai Sushi on 8/22/24 which is a ajoining restaurant from same management company and had they great food and stellar customer service. I left that restaurant an excellent review. What a night and day experience. Shiki Sai Sushi impressed me and I was looking forward to returning. (not sure now...) We had end of the night reservations at 8:50pm. Teppan Edo, you can also do better by not "rushing " your customers out just because it is the end of your shift. The food was fine, nothing great, we knew what to expect from prior visit. Again how a service issue was handled at the end of our meal was so unacceptable. That a server/cashier escalated a $4.25 question/issue to a manager and then an unprofessional manager came out with an attitude will never again see another dollar from us. This was our first time here and is was very good! Our chef was Taka and he was awesome and funny!! We got the steak, chicken, and shrimp combinations and all of it was amazing. The food and service here was great and a bit different from other hibachis I've been to. They mixed the veggies with the noodles so I do wish I had gotten more veggies but it was still delicious! The steak was so tasty and tender as was the chicken. All of the folks here were great from the front desk to the servers to our chef! I love the decor in here as well and they have a lot of tables too. I really enjoyed it here and would definitely come back. read more

Very attentive staff, entertaining chef and the food was excellent. It was a little bit different than the hibachi that we get in Massachusetts but we really enjoyed it. Great meal, don't be late. I was here with two other families, so we had three reservations, two for four people and one for five. My husband was called for Guardians so him and my older son went to ride it. Our dinner reservations were at 4:50 p.m. and at that time he was just getting on the ride. At most Disney restaurants they will accommodate lateness, but my friends and I joked because this is Japan, they don't tolerate it. They told me I could wait for him, but they couldn't guarantee how long it would take for our family to be seated. Since they have to start 8 people at the same time per table, it makes sense that we could be stuck waiting for another opening of four. I decided he made his bed and could now lie in it, so my younger son and I joined our friend's reservation and my husband and older son were out of luck. I got the shrimp hibachi and like my earlier review said, it's a lot less food than other hibachi places. I wasn't hungry and I could have probably finished the whole meal. I also got a drink that was shochu with freshly squeezed grapefruit. I didn't know this, but they bring you the fruit for you to squeeze yourself! I found that pretty funny. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the noodles were really good. My 3-year-old ate both. I like the performance and the fans overhead make sure the seating area doesn't get smokey at all. I will keep coming back here, but next time I'll make sure my husband doesn't try to make a last minute ride. read more

Been here a few times. The food, service, and ambiance is all great, but I just can't justify the price. If you go just outside of Disney property, there are similar places all over town which is just as good and half the price. I would stick to restaurants that Disney does best rather than something you can get anywhere. read more

We had a very nice experience at the Teppan Edo. The staff had a lot of energy and were extremely nice towards our whole table. The place is run great and very punctual. We had the shrimp and NY Steak. My daughter had some sushi. My wife and daughter ordered Sapporo beers at $14.00 each. When we were in Japan the same beer was $3.00. All of our food was very good and the show they put on was fantastic. My only gripe why I gave 4 stars was the $14 beers. Other than that everything was 5 stars. read more

Disney fun but the food is, well a typical hibachi. We had to book roughly 5 days ahead for a prime time dinner spot so keep that in mind! The restaurant itself was very clean and all the staff were very helpful and nice. The menu was broad enough for most people to find something to eat as well which is helpful in a place like Disney! We went for the hibachi as it sounded like a dun thing to do after drinking around the world, well you can't have a bad time with dinner and a little show right? The dinner was fun to watch and they made lots of Disney references which made everyone at the table laugh and have a good time, my only gripe was the food was a little generic tasting and small portions. For the price of the meal I really expected more, I rarely finish my plate at hibachi spots locally but here I was still hungry after finishing my meal! At any rate, the food was good enough and it was a pleasant experience, it just fell a bit short for me is all. read more

Hibachi is my favorite style of food. Despite being a local, this was my first time here. I ordered a spicy roll as an appetizer and salmon as my entree. The food was fantastic....a lot less butter and salt than you normally get with hibachi which i thought was great. Our Chef was a master of his craft for sure! Our chefs skill level compared to a typical hibachi restaurant, in my opinion, was superior.... You are definitely paying "Disney prices" but when the food and experience is this good, the price is less a concern... read more

I got the Yasai entree that came with a salad, udon noodles, and fried vegetables. It was surprisingly well seasoned and the mushrooms were super delicious for some reason. Maybe they marinated it? Pina colada: a bit in the sweeter side, especially at the end but it was still really good. Matcha ice cream: nothing too special, it was ok. Mango mouse: it was ok as well but a bit more on the sweeter side. It was communal seating which I wasn't expecting but that's ok. The servers and chefs all all really nice and cute. The chef made cute jokes while cooking but I assume it was scripted since I saw other chefs doing and saying the same thing. read more
