Very Very nice people and delicious food! Do not be afraid to give this cuisine a try. The arepas are really only the beginning! I love the ham and cheese cachapa! I also got to try their empanadas on my last visit and they were absolutely yummy. I had the shredded beef and the cheese one. Don't miss out on the hot sauce and the garlic sauce. It's been a long time since I've been here and I'm so glad to be back. I noticed they remodeled and did way more seating inside and outside. The place is cozy and I was greeted right away. I new I wanted the pabellón as last time it was so delicious and I loved the plantains in it. I ordered a side of yuca fries and boy were they delicious! I asked for an extra dipping sauce as I love the flavor. For my drink I guess you could say it's a secret menu surprise I ordered a chicha which is a traditional drink. Absolutely love this restaurant!! The staff are friendly and welcoming. They made great recommendations for food to try. After ordering one round of food, the waitress took time to chat with me about other options and flavors. Found out they make their own cheese!! So, round 2 ordered some custom-made arepas with their in-house made cheese. Those are the photos that look like there's tofu, but that is actually their cheese (delicious!). The star items that I can't stop thinking about are the cachapas with the sweet corn pancake! Absolutely. Delicious! We stopped in before heading to golf; this place was amazing! The cashier was super helpful & nice, plus the portion size was a lot for the price. The shop itself is pretty small, but they have a nice number of tables, along with a couple of tables outside. I got a Patapata Arepa (black beans, choice of cheese (I got white), & avocado), along with a side of hot sauce. The food came out SUPER hot & fresh, with a ton of tasty toppings. As someone with roots in that country where this restaurant is basing their dishes' names, etc., I was disappointed to the extent that I will not return to this restaurant. I gave them three chances and they failed. The first reason is pricing. These people are charging too much for all dishes. Second reason is that as someone who knows the genuine versions of these dishes, I can say that they are not terrible or anything but they are not near the quality or quantity they should be given the pricing. The third reason is a lack of awareness they seem to have and their customer service is missing some general common-sense. For example, their personnel seemed to be focused on their own taste and preferences. They were play loud music in Spanish that is basically pornographic. This place has been on my radar all summer because my office moved into walking distance from the strip mall it's housed in. First issue I had is generally not understanding what an arepa is . I was definitely thinking it would be like a wrap, tortilla, or pita. It's actually more doughy - like an English muffin pita... I got the chicken version with Pepperjack and a side of both the hot and garlic sauces. Unfortunately - this (sandwich?) just wasn't for me. The chicken didn't pack much flavor and there was a TON of it. With no sauce actually in the sandwich I resorted to alternating bites with the two options, but I didn't love either of them. My other problem... man, I made a mess! This is a difficult thing to wolf down professionally. I felt lucky that nothing ended up in my shirt or my lap. By the time I was munching into the second half of the sandwich the bread was falling apart in my hands. I love to see a Venezuelan business thriving. Stopped by about 30mins before they closed for the day and the place was packed. Despite being about to close, and clearly at capacity, they were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We came in for cheese tequeños, but they were out for the day... not to worry, though, as their guava and cheese tequeños never disappoint either. We also had a pabellon empanada (shredded beef, black beans, cheese, and fried plantains), and a ham and cheese empanadas, as well as a serving of fried arepas with nata (kind of a mix between sour cream and heavy whipping cream). This spot is tucked away in a strip mall off of 494 and Flying Cloud Drive. We'd been meaning to try out their food and compare it to our Venezuelan family recipes. Unfortunately we had already eaten lunch, so we thought tequeños were a perfect snack to try! They were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The cheese was nice and salty - just like we're used to. Guayaba (guava) paired well with the cheese for a salty and sweet snack. I am so glad I found this place! I love finding excellent south american cuisine near the twin cities. We have been here a couple of times already and we always come out full and happy. Everything we've tried is so flavorful. My personal favorite but not pictured is the Reina Pepiada which is the arepa filled with chicken salad and avocado. We've also tried a couple of their smoothies and I like that they aren't too sweet. Another plus is how gluten-friendly this place is. Plenty of options! Service is always excellent and they're always ready to give you great recommendations from the menu. Love this hidden gem in Eden Prairie. It's a favorite for lunch and is always quickly made! I will say the restaurant is small so I usually take it to go! Favorites of mine are the carne burrito with shredded beef, black beans, avocado, and cheddar cheese! The shredded beef is amazing and all I get at this point! I also love to get the tequeños, which are a fried hand rolled pastry with queso blanco. When getting both of these there is definitely enough to share with a second person. OMG. We were in the area for an appointment and used Yelp to decide on a snack. This was a total winner. It is in a strip mall next to subway, and is completely unassuming. We split the pork (rumbera) arepa and yuca fries. The sandwich had so much meat in it and the first few bites needed a fork. It came with a choice of hot sauce or garlic sauce in a thimble of a container. It wasn't nearly enough for how big the sandwich is (which has no sauce). You can add another thimble for seventy five cents. The yuca fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Also got a choice of another sauce thimble. The size of the fries was as pictured. It was plenty but you can see in previous pictures that this is clearly less than previously served. We got the slow roasted pork and cheddar arepas. The meat was flavorful and juicy. The accompanying hot sauce was excellent and added a kick. Next were the ground beef empanadas. Crisp outside and delicious seasoned beef. Lastly, the yuca fries with their amazing garlic sauce. When it says "People Love Us on Yelp", it's for a good reason. Hard to go wrong here. The food was good but not great and the place is kinda small but cozy , the service was good . The only thing that I found strange was the food comes with a tiny container of Sauce to put on the arepa and when we asked if we could get other one they told us that it would be 81¢ for other one. And the container it comes in is TINY , totally not worth 81¢ that's basically almost a dollar . They also charge for a CUP OF WATER We probably won't be back . Pretty solid little joint that is no frills indeed. Very basic menu comprised primarily of arepas and empanadas. The arepa with roasted pork, fried plantain, and black beans was quite good. Served very hot and fresh, with food falling out every bite (don't eat in your nicest clothes - ). They are tasty. I'd recommend mixing both the garlic and hot dipping sauces. The other great find on the menu was the tequenos. These are like little Venezuelan mozzarella sticks. They were awesome! While running around Eden Prairie doing some errands, we decided to take in some lunch on Saturday. Pulling up my Yelp app, we came down to two lunch options: Cross Roads Deli, or Teque Arepa. Since Teque was closer, this was the course we set upon. This establishment is in an unassuming little strip mall. If you aren't looking for it, you can easily miss it. The interior is not anything special. It looks like a converted Subway shop, but who cares; it is clean and we are here for food right? To the left of the counter, they post a large display of the Arepas, burritos, and empanadas. I am not sure why their items start at 100, it struck me as curious. There are about 20 Arepa options, and they all look pretty good. We opted for numbers 116 - La Sifrina which is Reina Pepiada. It is basically chicken salad, but whatever they do to put this together it was awesome. The other arepa we ordered was the 114 - Rumbera. The sliced pork was cooked perfectly and quite flavorful. I have no idea what the chili/spice blend they used nor, the makeup of the sauce, but this is the best thing on their menu in my opinion thus far. I do reserve the right to change my mind for it is my intention to try at each one of these in my subsequent visits (I will move on to the empanadas after that). If you are in the SW corner of the MPLS metro area, I truly encourage you to give this place your support. It is very much worth the time to eat here. read more

This seems like a family run business. We arrived right when they opened so they were cleaning the grease out of the fryers which I didn't mind waiting for so we had clean grease. They are very friendly people )and it's great to have pictures of items for that visual. We ordered a queso empanada #304, ground beef empanada #302 as the girl said all the meat was seasoned. A queso and shredded beef apreas #102, the hot chicken apreas #113, and the queso tequenos #601, they offer a white garlic sauce or red hot sauce to go with your items. The empanadas are a corn base instead of flour which is great if you can't have flour, and it makes them soft, but it also makes them a touch greaser than we are use to. My favorite was the shredded beef one, my companion liked the hot chicken. The queso one was just to plain, weded something more, even the cheese didn't stand out. We actually took the cheese outta it and stuffed it into one of the others we felt was light on cheese. read more

The entire order was only about $30. The Arepas were much larger than I expected and both my mom and I only ate a half, leaving us with enough for a second meal! The shredded beef and chicken were packed with flavor and the plantain in the Pabellon was a sweet surprise. Loved the thick cut and texture of the yuca frita and the garlic sauce paired with it perfectly. The tequeños were a delicious sweet and savory treat to top off the meal and may have been my favorite part. And the mango smoothie was a refreshing, light and not-too-sweet drink to wash everything down with! I can't believe I had never tried this place before! Won a Grubhub gift card from work and decided to try out a local restaurant and so glad that we did. I suggest looking at FB for the menu as the website hard to load and kept crashing. It was hard to determine how much food to order- but decided for two people two arepas, yuca, and beef empanadas were more than enough. The carne Molida( beef empanada) was our least favorite of our dinner the other night 2/5. It was just meh and no great flavor would not order again. The arepas were phenomal and so is the garlic sauce that comes with it. Ordered pork pabellon and had great flavor, well portioned, and plantains were so juicy. Excellent place! Clean and a bit snug of it gets crowded. Parking is easy as it is located on a strip mall. Food was Excellent, semi fast food. The greatest thing is that it feels very natural. Not chemical loaded. Friendly quick service. Only thing IMHO is that one arepa is not enough portion size and two gets you to $15... note a very well spent $15. The taste is delicious, but saying it as some might compare the pp price. The menu choices and combinations is amazing! Some soon to come look very promising! I look forward to the beef and egg one! I tried the Beef Empanada - It was pretty good, def a little pocket food - but a bit on the greasy side. I liked it though. Because I am a CHEESE HEAD at heart, Probs would like some cheese inside :) Surprise me please My husband had the BEEF and CHICKEN Burrito...He loved it - Huge.
