Both ladies were excellent, fun and very very welcoming. Nicest people we have met thus far driving from Nevada. Always smiling, not hanging over you while you eat, and extremely polite. The food was absolutely incredible. Over a week traveling with numerous stops, La Casita De Cortez absolutely comes out on top easily. Homemade food with passion behind it and generous portions. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted incredible. The drinks were also impeccable with a decent variety of margaritas and others. Stop here if you can and enjoy every second of it! The food is delicious, with Chef Carlos preparing flavorful dishes found nowhere else. We are locals and have been going to Tequilas a family-owned business for about 20 years. It continues to improve all the time. We eat there at least three or four times a week. They are open seven days a week giving us a great meal whenever we want to go out. We have several meals that we eat often. The carned asada is our top choice followed by chicken fajitas. For a change, we order a Tequilas burrito with meat of choice, sometimes a Mojarra (whole tilapia fried and delicious), Fish Tacos are excellent with beans and rice, and every shrimp dish is spot on. I like the Camarones al Mojo (shrimp, with mushrooms and garlic sauce). But the best shrimp dish is their Fried Shrimp plate. It is not listed on the menu but you can ask for it. Eight large shrimp are perfectly fried with a choice of sauce. And for a very special occasion we have their version of Cajun Boil with shrimp, crab, crayfish, potatoes, carrots, earcorn and andouille sausage a meal for two or more. We ask them to make it less spicy. The service is impeccable with as many servings of free chips and salsa as you want. Nonalcoholic drinks are refilled often as servers cruise by to check and recheck. Service is fast unless they are jam-packed and then you may wait a few minutes for a table. A new patio is open in warm weather. A lunch menu with many choices is a good way for a quick meal that doesn't break your wallet. Try it for a great dining experience. read more

We go to Tequilas at least once a week and sometimes twice a week. My favorite is the chicken fajitas or the carne asada plate. My husband likes the chili rellenos or the tacos al pastor. All the food is great. Service is the best anywhere with chips, salsa and water provided promptly. Refills are often and in large glasses. The servers are fantastic. We used to live near the Mexican border and had about 7 or 8 good Mexican food restaurants there. Tequilas ranks with the best of them. It is beyond me why some reviews say everything is great at Tequilas and rank it 3 or 4 stars. Tequilas is a ten star restaurant!!!! You won't be disappointed. read more

Let me start by saying I gave them 4 starts not five because my family's food was much better than mine. Service: Best service we have had in a long time. We travel twice a year to many states and this place is excellent on service. They were vacumming after each table finished. They made sure chips, salsa, sodas were always filled. THey were "johnny on the spot" there. Friendly staff. Just perfect! Food: Salsa is the bomb, best i've had in a long time. No joke. Beans and rice were on par. Steak fajitas plates were excellent. We are regulars at Tequilas. We normally get the fajitas (beef, chicken or shrimp) , the carne asada, and the tamales as our favorites. One day a server asked if we had tried the Hawaiian fajitas. We said no but it sounded good. It was delicious. They hollow out half a pineapple and fill it with fajitas of your choice. The extra pineapple pieces are on your plate to enjoy.
