Both ladies were excellent, fun and very very welcoming. Nicest people we have met thus far driving from Nevada. Always smiling, not hanging over you while you eat, and extremely polite. The food was absolutely incredible. Over a week traveling with numerous stops, La Casita De Cortez absolutely comes out on top easily. Homemade food with passion behind it and generous portions. Rice and beans were exactly right. The chicken fajitas were hot, flavorful, and cooked just right. The fried ice cream was great too. I wouldn't call it a hole-in-the-wall, but the atmosphere is pretty bare bones. That's okay because the food is the reason to come here. Great prices, friendly service, and really good Mexican food. We'd happily eat here again next time we're in Cortez.
