I'd be happy to come here every day just for the ambiance and the head massage. Thea did my friends hair, it turned out amazing. She did balayage and curled after. I had my roots touched up and had the best, most epic head massage in a dim room. They even have a nice warm towel after. I've been to 3 hair salons here in the area. I have been getting my hair done by Barbara Johnson for over a decade, and with good reason! She is the best colorist ever! She understands how to complement your complexion with her coloring, and understands how to complement your face shape with her cuts. But the real icing on the cake to being confident you'll be happy with your look is how great her personality is. You are always in for pleasant time in Barbara's chair! Love, love, LOVE her! Always worth the hike to wherever she is, but Medina's Kalla Lily is my favorite place she has been as well! I truly had no idea this gem was located in Medina! Kaylee did an amazing job when waxing my brows. It was one of the most relaxing experiences ever. I will definitely be back to see her when my brows need TLC again. The spa area was so relaxing... I almost fell asleep. Seriously amazing. Krystal did an amazing job with my hair. I'm growing out a buzz cut and to say the process has been complicated would be an understatement. She did a wonderful job walking me through what would be best as I grow my hair back out and she also taught me how to style my hair growing forward. 10000/10. My experience at this salon was terrifying. I had went in to this salon to color my hair dark blue. I showed the stylist the color that I wanted and she brought out sample colors. We agreed on a dark blue one but when I left their salon, my hair was teal, rusty yellow, baby blue at the roots and green. The stylist asked me if I liked it and feeling bad I simply said "It wasn't what I expected." and left . As soon as I got into my car I called the salon and wanted to speak with the manager but she was not available and called me the next morning. I spoke with Melissa, whom is the manager at the Medina location and she did apologize for my experience but then quickly changed her attitude when I wanted a refund. She insisted they fix my hair but they were unwilling to work around my schedule. I advised that I would be willing to come in after my work shift at 8:30pm on a Friday to get this issue fixed but in Melissa's words "We close at 7pm so that is just not possible in our world." I kept on asking for a refund as I had to have my original stylist fix it the following morning (she literally woke up at 4:30AM, drove to her salon and fixed Kalla Lily's mistake- what a champ!) I was supposed to receive a response from Melissa the following week after she had to consult with her partner about a refund and this is the reply I get- "I do apologize for the delay in my response. Thank you for sending over the pictures so I have a better picture of the end results. I am very sorry that you were not satisfied with your end results. It is my understanding that Barbara the stylist did confirm with you that the color would be lighter and that at the end you did tell her you were satisfied. With all that said you were obviously not satisfied which you expressed. I did say that we would have been more then willing, free of charge to you, to redo the color service to make you 100% satisfied. However due to time restrictions with your work schedule you were unable to come in however in the post you did have it redone in the morning time which I did tell you we could do for you. At this time we are not able to offer you a refund for our services since you were unable to come back in the salon and have us look at it in person. I can offer you a Complimentary Color Service in the future with another stylist such as Kendra, Tricia or Jackie that you have seen in the past and I assume you were satisfied with. Please let me know if you would like to reserve a color appointment with one of those stylists. Thank You" Who in their right mind would ever walk into that salon ever again? I still demanded a refund in the amount of at least $125.00 because I do understand they need to get paid for the product that they used and still received no response. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced and coming to find out from my posts that people responded to it is not uncommon for this place. Please do yourself a favor and do not go here. I would suggest Keri at The Style Room who made me very very happy with the end result and the actual color I wanted! **This is my husbands Yelp account ** I randomly made an appointment at Kalla Lily online and had the best experience with Jackie!! They sent me email confirmations, called, and texted to remind me of the appointment. From the moment I walked in they were welcoming, giving me a small gift for my first appt and a discount for product. Jackie was fabulous- easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about color. I showed her a photo and Pinterest and walked out the door with the exact cut/color I was hoping for. The staff is super friendly, energetic and helpful that is the plus side. It was my first visit to this salon. I came with pictures of what i wanted and showed it to her. She did not think that is was a good idea to go to that color for me. She recommended something I have not hear of so we go pictures again. It was cute so i agree to try it. Well it did not look like that picture either. It seems she had an idea she just wanted to try and wanted to style it so i said ok. I must have been charged for a style onto the partial color,cut and foils. the receipt was not detailed so I am guessing, It was hundreds of dollars to not like my hair. If there was an option for ZERO stars I would without a doubt select that. I went in this past fall (2015) to get a highlight by Nicolette. This was my second time seeing Nicolette as a stylist. As you can see in the pictures I have attached in the general picture section on this page, my hair is ruined and it will take years to grow out as my hair was broken off at the roots due to over processing during a single, routine visit. I contacted the salon after I got home in a panic. I was appalled after I took a close look in the mirror as to what happened during the highlight. I literally didn't know what to do... my hair was broken off about a half inch down from the root around the entire crown of my head, nape of neck and hairline. After explaining the situation to management, Sandy the manager, forwarded my complaint onto the owner and they gave me one Olaplex treatment (low-cost conditioning treatment) and refunded my money. Wow, thanks. My once very healthy, long hair is now ruined at the top of my entire head and will have to be regrown out completely. I told them I would like a further treatment to try and correct the problem or at least attempt to fix the major damage which had occurred from their stylist. Management flat out said no, they would not provide me with any other treatment and washed their hands clean of the situation. They said they gave me one treatment and that was plenty. I am sorry, but one Olaplex treatment is not going to solve the problem. To be honest, nothing would but they should have tried their best to correct what had happened in whatever way I thought would help the situation. Several weeks later I was Extremely frustrated every morning styling my hair so I decided to contact the manager again. I sent the manager, Sandy, pictures of the damage and told her it was unacceptable and that being they ruined my hair and I have to deal with it every single day, they needed to fix this issue they created. She said she would forward my email to the owners. I had no doubt in my mind that the owners would offer to have me come in every few weeks or monthly for a conditioning treatment (clearly this is necessary). They said that they felt that the ONE Olaplex treatment they gave me was sufficient. WHAT! ?!? My hair is ruined, fried, broken off and this is the solution? Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I went to several other stylists for help, obviously not from this salon, and they were all APPALLED at what had happened. Even worse, no one can believe management then treated me this way when they are responsible for the service their stylist provided. I am still trying to work with my hair at this point and figure out a way to manage. I can only wash my hair once a week as my hair breaks off due to severe dryness due to over-processing. I actually have resorted to using a hair product line of "hair grease" because it is the only thin that will calm down my broken off ends and fried crown. Hair is one of the most important things to women and when this salon fried my hair they should have done whatever they could to fix the issue they created. My hair is damaged, broken off all over my head and almost beyond repair. However, if a $25 hair conditioning treatment once a month would have satisfied my horrific experience for me, then I would think they would do that out of principal. I normally have very healthy, soft blonde hair and have NEVER had issue with it. It will now take me as long as it has to grow my hair out past my collar bone to solve the problem...years. There is nothing to do to fix the damage other then let it grow out and try at home conditioning treatments. It is honestly a disaster and had a major impact on my self confidence. Nicolette ruined my hair and Sandy and the owners refused to make it better. Kalla Lily Medina is not offering to provide me with any further assistance so I now have to deal with the repercussions of going to an unprofessional salon seriously lacking in customer service. PATHETIC! Take a look at the pictures below and see what I left this salon looking like. My hair is a mess and honestly these pictures don't even do the damage done to my justice. You truly have to see it to believe it. I get people make mistakes, but then they should fix them. I am beyond dissatisfied with my experience at this salon and shall continue to spread the word about this terrible experience to anyone considering going to this salon or looking for a place to try in the area. read more

Liked the services but be warned about you few things... First of all, I really, really wanted to love this place and I really did like my first experience there when it first opened but when I went back, unfortunately that stylist had already left the salon. I had an appointment for a cut and color and then decided to have a partial/10 pack of highlights done, as well. Mind you I had a $75 gift card I got from my mom for Christmas that I used. She asked at the time to find out how much cut and color services were to see if that would at least get me somewhere. When we discussed what we would do, the stylist suggested to do "demi-permanent" color as it was nearly the same/last pretty much the same length of time as permanent but I would get more shine. Great. I am not an expert on hair color, so that sounded good to me. When we were finished, I liked the result. It was nice. She did a good job. But then I went to pay and they charged me $240!!!! Or at least they took my $75 gift card and then charge me $164.27 which I paid for with my credit card. I was like, "Huh?". I didn't say anything at the time because I was in a huge hurry and I thought, well, I hadn't seen the full price list (this is a problem with their services). The only cost I knew was that the cut was $40. Well, to me that is reasonable. But then, $200 seemed quite a lot for color alone so I called them the next day. According to their page, starting price for 10 Pack is $50. I was told I was charged $55. Then I was charged $70 for the demi-permanent color. Permanent color starts at $55 according to their page. And THEN I was told that I was charged and $20 for extra color?! Extra color that was never discussed or mentioned. I was told someone would call me back and then I ended up getting an email from the manager asking me to call back again with my credit card to get a credit for the extra color. I ended up just stopping in there because I was at Target and that was easier, I thought. Well, manager was not there. Girl there was very nice and she divulged to me then that they had not applied the full amount from my gift card but they kept it. Bye bye gift card for me. There the girl credited me the $20 for the extra color and told me the manager would call me back about the gift card but I never received any call back. Very long story short, the way they handle their pricing is not transparent. It seems very geared toward "upselling" without informing you. So, "Starting at $55 for permanent color" and I got "DEMI-permanent" which leads me to my final point. Less than three weeks after my appointment (like 2.5 weeks) there was no hint of color left. It was already gone even when trying to stretch as much as possible between washes, washing with lukewarm water. So, that explains the need for extra color but this seemed like a huge scam to me. I liked the girl that did my hair and I liked the way it looked when I walked out of there, but that's not cool. That's a lot of money for 2.5 weeks of color. Come on. And something very fishy and very shady went on with my transaction. Your hair will look very nice, the salon is very nice and the people are very nice when you're there - but buyer beware. read more

My appointment was a totally awesome experience! Laurie carefully listened to what I wanted for color and what I thought needed to be fixed with my cut. She carefully explained that the color would look darker when it was applied and when it was wet. The color she came up with is perfect! While my color was processing, Laurie asked me if I would like a complimentary hand massage, because the massage therapist had some free time. Sarah, the massage therapist, and I talked about the different techniques she uses. I will absolutely make an appointment with Sarah for a massage. Both of these professionals talked about how great the salon's owners were and how much they liked working for them. Laurie totally understood what I didn't like about my last cut and she fixed it. I usually give new stylists three tries before I make a decision to stay or go. Laurie doesn't need any more chances - she nailed it on the first try. read more

My girlfriend's daughter went to Kalla lilly salon in Medina and if I could give this Salon a negative star rating they would get -10. She wanted to dye her hair dark blue, she is a beautiful African mix with very curly hair. She brought them in pictures of the color she wanted, the woman told her she could do it but that was a lie. She turned her hair greenish yellowish, blue greenish color making her look more like a treasure troll. She was so devastated that she did not at the time want this lady to screw her hair up anymore, she now didn't trust her, so she paid and left. When she got home she called and told the manager how disappointed and embarrassed she was by her hair and asked her for a refund, she said she was willing to pay for the product but wanted the rest of her money back. Kalla Lily Salon refused but told her to come back and they would fix it. Now they should have fixed it before she left the Salon. She said she did not want them to do any further damage to her hair and again asked for a refund. They still will not give her the money back. Before she went in to Kalla Lilly her hair was perfect. Now she's had to have it fixed twice. If you value your hair and the money you put into it DO NOT GO HERE!! RUN THE OTHER WAY. There are way to many Salons out there to waste your money here.
