Yes, it's perfectly fine to make those loud slurping noises to show your appreciation for a great bowl of ramen. Here's what was ordered: - Signature Terakawa Ramen - 4.5/5 stars Boasted of rich, lovingly homemade pork bone soup with a good amount of sliced roast pork, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, ginger, scallions, and a jammy egg. The straight thin noodles were al dente. They maintained their texture in the broth, brilliantly. The broth was deep and flavorful. - Pork belly Donburi - 4.5/5 stars The juicy tender pork belly was plentiful, sliced perfectly as their we're not too thick nor paper thin. Their flavor was rich, savory with a balance of sweetness from the soy dashi sauce. Elegantly layered in top of a humongous bowl of seasoned rice, along with a sprinkle of scallions, pickled radishes, and sesame seeds. The photo on their menu does not do it justice. I would have loved a jammy egg to be included to bring the dish to the next level. - Gyoza - 3.5/5 stars 5 pieces of Pan-fried gyoza dumplings with their dumpling sauce. I would prefer them to have been fried a bit more. The balance between their pork and cabbage was even. They were delightfully light in both taste and texture. The service was very good. Both Willie, the owner, and a charming waiter named Sung served us. Sung kept coming over checking in to attest our cups were full, and if we needed anything else. Good ramen at a reasonable price. The broth is flavorful albeit somewhat too greasy. The meat is well cooked and you can adjust noodle firmness which is unique. Portion sizes are quite large as well. We ordered a rice ball, burned garlic oil char su Ramen and their signature ramen. You can place your order in low sodium as well which is a nice option. The noodles was good, soup base is more greasy than I would like. My bowl comes with 3 slices of meat but all 3 pieces are extremely fatty. Maybe 2% meat and the rest is all fat. It is not edible to me. My friends bowls got less fatty meat which they were ok with it. My stomach was not feeling good for a couple of hours after eating. Just too fatty for me. My BF and I come here at least once a month, and are never disappointed. You rarely have to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table and your food always comes out super quickly. Every other ramen place we go to, is always compared to Terakawa, because Terakawa is the standard, the one to beat. We've only had one come close in the past year, but Terakawa is consistently number one. Personally a prefer their wavy noodle selections to their straight noodles, but that's just my preference. This branch is comparable to the one in Philadelphia Chinatown, except I think I prefer the (Tokyo style) mini-curry rice side at the Philly branch over the chopped katsu mini-curry rice side here. That said, I've already visited this branch twice -- having ordered both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Miso Ramen -- and I intend to come back. Really good ramen and Japanese comfort food place tucked away in an unassuming strip mall in Princeton Junction, NJ. I have taken out from Terakawa a few times, but opted to dine in for lunch at one of the handful of tables available this most recent visit. Service was prompt and extremely friendly, but with so few tables available, the crowd stacks up quickly at lunch time. I opted to stray from my regular Terakawa or Tan Tan ramen and opted for pork katsu curry and pork buns (which were offered soft or crispy, and option I'd never heard before. I went with the traditional soft). I was not disappointed with my choices. The pork was fried just right with the perfect amount of breading, and the curry was deliciously spiced and ever so slightly spicy. The sort pork buns were delicious, with a generous serving of marinated pork wrapped up in their pillowy buns. All told, a slightly more expensive lunch than usual due to the addition of the appetizer, but I was in and out with a delicious meal in my stomach in under 30 minutes. Probably some of the best takoyaki I've had and it really isn't something I go for. The chicken karaage was like amazing. Such juicy and perfectly cooked chicken with the right combo of seasoning. The meal just got better with the ramen. The noodles come with like just the right toppings without feeling like they are overcharging. Seems like more and more ramen shops are like leaving out the meat or egg and you have to order it additionally. So I'm glad they haven't done that. The broth was like chug worthy. My friends wanted me to come here and give this restaurant a try since they like eating at this restaurant. The staff: They greeted us upon entering the restaurant and sat us at our table in less than 5 minutes. The staff was friendly but did not ask if it was our first time at this restaurant. Takoyaki: It has enough taste on the outside but not enough of the squid inside of the ball. I ate one with no squid in it at all and it was all dough. They should have placed the squid evenly throughout the Takoyaki. Pork Bao: It has enough taste, but the lettuce throws off the taste effect of the bao. Karaage Chicken: The outside is lightly fried and isn't fried to perfection like other restaurants. It is a bit bland and could use more taste on its own. Maybe that is why they give you the sauce on the side. Miso Ramen: The noodles were cooked to perfection like other ramen shops. The pork has taste and was cooked well. The soup had a hint of miso taste only but could use a little more work. Overall: This was an average experience, and it isn't worth the 45-minute drive for lunch.
