This space used to be Penang, so I was pretty bummed out when they closed down the place. However, a friend of mine communicated that even though ownership changed hands, the menu would still retain a lot of what Penang offered. Since I was in the area, I gave it a try (especially since they have one of my favorites of all time - the curry beef stew). The ambiance is chill and relaxed, and the service is good. I ordered: Roti Telur (appetizer) - 5/10: these could have been a bit crispier, but the curry sauce served with it was pretty tasty. Wonton soup (small) - 7/10: the wontons were legit with a thin wrapper and a good amount of shrimp. The broth, although a bit too salty, was flavorful (I could smell the white pepper, which I love). Curry beef stew - 10/10: delicious!! 1 serving is good for two, and it comes with a lot of broth. I plan to repurpose the broth and add potatoes, carrots and tofu for another meal! Braised pork with preserved (mustard) greens - 6/10: the braised pork was delicious, but the sauce and mustard greens were too salty. 1 serving can serve 2-3 people. Nasi Lemak Chicken - 10/10: the STAR of today's lunch! It was so flavorful, comforting and filling. Highly recommended. Iced Thai Milk Tea - 10/10 Icy Lime Crush With Jasmine Tea & Lemon - 10/10

During my visit, I experience good customer service: employees are helpful and kind with navigating the menu. I really enjoy Buddha's Delight. The vegetables are so flavorful apart as well as together. I'm glad about finding a menu option with a mix of vegetables. I add Vegan chicken to my order for protein. The portion is so large, I think two people may share one order. The meal travels well. I literally eat the meal for breakfast the following day (no refrigeration though in a lower than room-like temperature atmosphere, indoors) and the meal holds together well even after about twelve hours. The establishment is pretty open, spacious, and offers a variety of indoor seating options. The establishment accepts different forms of payment.

A nice and spacious place, perfect for gathering with family and enjoying delicious food. The interior is beautiful and cute. Our server was amazing, friendly, and helpful, and the food came out quickly. All the food was amazing, and I can say my favorites are the Golden Pork Chop, Black Pepper Beef, Kangkung Balacan, and Mango Shaved Ice

PM is housed in the former Penang location just around the corner from HD. I was surprised to find out from a friend that the name and owner had changed, I had just been to Penang a month or so ago.... After seeing that the menu seemed very close to Penang, I decided to try 2 of my favs to get a sense of how the restaurant changed. I ordered Thai basil noodles and Roti Canai. The decor had only changed slightly, brighter paint and better lit now. But of interest was a kiosk of Asian goodies that were well labeled, cookies and candies. Once home I dug into the noodles first. They were pretty close if not exactly the same as Penang. You also get 2 meaty shrimp as was the case at the former. The noodles were firm and there was a bitter Asian green that went well in it. Plenty of basil too! So far so good, the Roti however was even better. This was a dish I first tried here over 12 years ago, so it was nice to see it hadn't changed. The curry sauce was excellent, and even contained a whole star anise. Also new at this location is a variety of drinks and bubble teas. I hope that will get a few more folks interested in trying it. I think Penang struggled with repeat customers, not due to food, but to the slightly out of the way location in a struggling mall. I for one had near amnesia until remembering it when I had to stop at Home Depot a few years back. I'll be returning to try more things and a refreshing beverage......

This was my first visit to this location since it has been taken over, I used to come when it was Penang. I visited here during the week and lunch time. The staff is very friendly, greeting you as soon as you walk threw the doors. The food came out fast and hot. The roti is always one of my favorite appetizers and the chicken satay were nice and tender. I couldn't decide which noodle dish tasted better, I recommend both. The new owners redecorated some of the front of the restaurant but the rest of it looks exactly out it was when Penang first opened. The restaurant wasn't too busy it was not loud so you can easily have a business meeting there and be able to hear the other person talk. I feel like the food is great and the staff but the location needs some TLC, paint cleaning redecorate.

Enhanced vegetarian options with mock chicken dishes. Everything was very delicious. The drinks were excellent and not too sweet.

The spring rolls are the frozen kind. Shameful. Def not worth $9. They taste terrible, have scrawny little bits of veg. should never be served in a restaurant. Should be made fresh as all decent Asian restaurants do. That's the kind you buy at the Asian Mart and make at home in the air fryer.

The char kway teow was a standout: perfectly chewy flat rice noodles with smoky wok flavor, crisp bean sprouts, and just the right balance of savory and sweet. You can taste the technique here. The roti canai was flaky, light, and beautifully layered--exactly how it should be. Paired with the curry dipping sauce, it was hard to stop tearing pieces off. We even asked for an extra small rice so we could eat the rest of the dipping sauce. We also ordered the Hainanese chicken, which was tender, juicy, and simply prepared, letting the quality of the chicken shine. The chili sauce on the side added the perfect kick. Overall, Penang feels like a go-to spot when you want comfort food that's genuinely Malaysian. Great for sharing dishes, exploring the menu, and coming back again to try more classics. Authentic, satisfying, and worth the visit.

We finally made it here after exhausting all the nearby restaurants. The restaurant is medium in size, with pale yellow walls and cushy burgundy seats covering the dark brown floors. Framed black and white photos adorn the leftmost wall while the name of the restaurant is on the rightmost wall along with a framed painting. Finally, in the back, you can see the counter, which has a lucky cat and some plants on it, as well as a large painting of pink flowers in a pond behind it all. We ordered the following: Baby oyster omelet, which has pan fried baby oyster omelet with chives- this was delicious. We haven't had this for a while and enjoyed it a lot. Golden fried eggplant, which is lightly fried eggplant with cubes of bell peppers and onions. We all liked this dish a lot, as well. It was nicely fried. Claypot egg noodle, which has pearl noodle with minced pork, shrimp, squid, bean sprout in egg gravy. We've been looking for this entree for a while. Last time Hubs had this was 15 years ago and it was 30 years ago for me. Hubs loved this dish. Basil fish filet, which is stir fried fish filet with bell peppers, onions, basil leave and mushrooms. I thought this looked sweet and sour and was surprised it wasn't. Daughter liked it a lot and was addicted. Hubs was shocked at how flavorful it was. There were plenty of onion and peppers. There is parking in the back of the building but we managed to find a parking space in the front. It's a little tricky parking there but we managed. Service was quick and minimal. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

We were very excited to discover Malay nearby in Morristown, and we had to check it out. We ordered the Malay Prawn Mee, Chicken Sambal, and the Roti Canai. Roti Canai is one of my favorite Malaysian dishes, but this didn't quite hit the spot. The roti wasn't soft and dip-able. It was kind of flaky and kept falling apart every time I tried to use it to scoop up some curry. The curry was a little watery and not all that flavorful, and I defintiely would've appreciated more than just one or two chunks of potato and chicken. The chicken sambal and soup were additionally a bit disappointing. The chicken sambal was just okay for me, and the flavor didn't really blow me out of the water. It almost felt like something I could make at home. The soup similarly did not have a particularly rich or flavorful broth, and left me a little dissapointed. Another thing that really influences my review is how cold it was inside. It got even colder when people opened and closed the door. It was so cold that our food didn't seem hot. I think the cold air cooled it off instantly and we were left eating room temperature chicken and soup.

It appears in-person orders are accepted primarily through the kiosk. The only other person that was there was the cook in the back, and when we flagged him down with some questions about the menu, his English was pretty limited. That said, we were pretty happy with our order. We noticed a lot of happy reviews mentioned the char kway teow, and it's just as good as others have found. The serving size is hearty, and each strand of flat noodle is well-seasoned. Our other was the crab fried rice. We'd never had it before and just ordered it out of sheer curiosity. On the plus side, it had a decent amount of actual crab meat, enough to see it and taste it in the entree. But it was on the blander side and seemed very plain when contrasted with the saucy char kway teow noodles. On a whim, I also ordered a Thai iced coffee, which turned out to be a bit of a fail. There was no actual ice in the coffee (which quickly rendered it lukewarm while we were sitting and sipping), and the coffee somehow straddled both extremes of bitter and sweet - it was extremely sugary on the front and left a bitter taste on the back end. While we wouldn't go out of our way for a return trip, we were happy with our food, and even had enough to take home. I'd definitely recommend giving this spot a try if you're in the area. Seating is in a modestly sized communal space, so it's first come first served.
