Really enjoyed our time here. Once you take the elevator up, it might seem like there's a long line up the stairs. But the line is actually just up to the door. We waited maybe 15 min before we were seated. They have a special area for taking pictures of the old town square. It's arguably the best rooftop view! Food was decent and not too overpriced for this touristy spot. With three of us, we paid around $90 for lunch, tips included. I tried their octopus salad. It was very refreshing and tasty after being on my feet all morning. My only complaint is that smoking is allowed. There is a breeze from time to time, so it's not the worst. read more

The food is good. But not worth what you pay. The atmosphere is amazing. They had a live piano player while we were here or you can choose to sit on the patio (heated). Service was pretty good. Kinda traditional Europe, they won't bug you. So if you need something, let them know. I ordered the saffron risotto. It was supposed to come with grilled scallops. They were steamed. It was supposed to come with saffron flakes on it. It didn't. I showed menu pics vs what I got. It was good. But not as advertised. The husband got the Weiner schnitzel. When I was researching things to do in Prague I heard so many good things about the views of Old Town that this restaurant provides. It was definitely a must try on my Prague itinerary. We had already eaten beforehand so we came here just for the drinks and the view. All the reservations were booked by the time I had a chance to check out the website, so would definitely recommend trying to book a few weeks before if you want a reservation. However, my friend and I were able to walk in to the restaurant without a reservation and get a sit-down table for 30 minutes. There was also the option of the standing area which is where the views of the city are located. I ordered the Basil Swizzle which was very tasty. It wasn't too strong and the pomegranate flavor made the drink very enjoyable. It was pretty average priced for a drink and they also give you the option to pay the recommended tip price. Service was nice but because the restaurant was busy they were helping multiple customers at once. Now onto the highlight of the night, the views! We came around 7ish and the sun was just beginning to set so the clock tower and other buildings were lit perfectly. The view was so pretty and definitely worth it for the price. I would recommend stopping by this place at least for drinks so you can check out Prague from the top. read more

The place was packed with people enjoying the sunset views. Located in a prime spot in Old Town Prague, you can see stunning views of the astronomical clock and the Church of Our Lady before Týn. This review is for drinks only on the roof terrace. It's obviously an IG photo haven so expect a lot of tourists constantly taking pictures. That aside drinks are very good with many cocktail options. Prices were reasonable as well and service was quick. Just be aware that it's a small space and fills up so it's hot or miss if you'll be allowed up. We tried three times and were successful on third attempt but required arriving around 2pm. Okay.. sad day because I rarely leave bad reviews but this was just overall extremely disappointing. Let me start by saying the server was unwelcoming and kind of rude. Never greeted me or looked at me directly. He took awhile (30 mins) to get to me before just placing the menu on the table and walking away. He paid particularly close attention to larger tables and his energy was much more enthusiastic with them. Moving on to the food.. if you're looking at the pictures on the menu please be prepared to be underwhelmed. It looks and tastes like nothing you expect. Very bland and 'skimpy'. I got the salmon egg Benedict with a mimosa and espresso. Was just.. alright. Best part about this place is obviously the view. That part was worth coming to. We stopped by Teresa U Prince mainly for the view--and it did not disappoint! The rooftop offers an absolutely stunning panorama of Prague, perfect for photos and soaking in the city's charm. It was a bit crowded when we went, so seating took a little patience, but that's expected with such a prime spot. We only ordered a Sangria and a Virgin Mojito--both were refreshing and hit the spot. I had very low expectations going to Terasa U Prince after reading the reviews, but I booked it anyway for the views. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. I made a dinner reservation for 445pm on a Saturday as that was the latest time available that day. When we arrived, the host was friendly and escorted us to our table right away. It was chilly outside, but the roof was covered, and they had heat lamps and blankets; so we were comfortable. Our waiter was friendly and polite. Between the two of us, we had 4 cocktails, filet mignon, sweet potato fries, spinach ravioli, golden egg dessert, and astronomical clock dessert. We also received complimentary bread and butter. Overall, the cocktails were great, and the food was great. The entrees were hot and fresh, and the steak was cooked appropriately as we ordered it. The only thing that didn't taste great was the bread as it wasn't very warm or fresh. On the bill, they suggest a 12.5% tip, however no tipping was required. We tipped the suggested 12.5% and paid with credit card choosing Czech currency as our payment. The total cost in US dollars was $140 for everything including tip. I found it to be a decent value considering our experience and the view. I would go here again if I'm ever in Prague again! After we went for a cocktail at Black Angel downstairs and also absolutely loved that place. It was extremely charming and historic with great cocktails and service. Highly recommend!! read more

We didn't even make it up to the restaurant. We were greeted by a very rude hostess on the main level on the late afternoon of Feb 11, 2025. We asked several questions regarding our dinner reservation and she was very cold and unwelcoming, rude. We judged the restaurant on that interaction and left before heading up to the restaurant. We decided to spend our money elsewhere for our last night in Prague and picked another place that made us feel special and welcome. We will not recommend or return. Visited Prague for my mums birthday and went to U Prince Terrace for a drink and photo of the view, on Thursday 28 August around 20:00. Were greeted by a lovely hostess. However, after that experience was less than pleasant. It was raining and we had my niece with us, but were seated at the table where chairs were wet. Took a while for a waitress to take order and even longer for drinks to arrive. Not once waitress came over to check if all was ok or if we wanted anything else. We did not feel like we were looked after, so tried to get her attention to pay the bill. Ended up finding another waiter and when he turned up, he was extremely rude. We said we do not wish to pay service charge, which is optional which is when he said one table one bill and refused to split the bill. And once we paid just threw receipt on the table and walked off. Such a horrible experience, sad my mum's birthday was ruined. Would not recommend the place to anyone! read more

Was very intrigued when I first heard about this restaurant, however, throughout my meal I did note a few downsides to the services which were provided. 1. First Impression Location was very hard to find. The elevator was broken, so we had to take 4 flights of stairs. Host was very welcoming and nice as we entered. 2. Service The first drink to come out was the ice latte, which was our most 'difficult' drink which we ordered (family of 3.) The other 2 drinks were blueberry smoothies which consisted of 2 ingredients, yoghurt and blueberry. Kind of questionable, yet I gave it the benefit of the doubt. The latte come out within the first 3 minutes of ordering, and the 3 smoothies came out 2 minutes after the food was brought out. On top of that, the smoothies were luke-warm. We all ordered egg Benedicts, which came out cold. The service was quite poor as-well. They had asked us how we were enjoying out meals AFTER we had finished them, which made for no improvements or points of dissatisfaction to be communicated. As we left, the host was sat at a table watching boxing videos, and didn't care to turn around and say goodbye to customers. 2. Price The price for 3 drinks, 3 breakfasts and 1 fruit bowl came to 1495,00 KC or 63,35 EUR or $98.14 however, was very appalled when reading the receipt, due to the fact they had charged us a 20% tip without our consent. Also didn't state giving a tip was compulsory. Very disappointed. The only reason I gave this restaurant 2 was because the view was pleasant, free wifi and the host was very welcoming. read more

You came here for the Instagram worthy selfie op. It costs about twice as much as it does in a less touristy spot which is to say it's still less than I typically pay in Pittsburgh so enjoy and take it all in. A nice place to hang for a break and a view. All in all totally worth it read more

With arguably the best terrace in Prague, this is a 4 star restaurant with a 6 star view. Like most restaurants in this city, the meat is the star of the show. Great service and cocktails that should not be overlooked - take the elevator down to -2 after for a nightcap at the Black Angel and you won't be disappointed. Sometimes the view is worth the price of admission. This is certainly the case at the terrace restaurant atop Hotel U Prince, with its picturesque Prague view overlooking the Astronomical Clock Tower and the Church of Our Lady before Tyn. Worth a reservation. Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for quality & value of the food and service that we received. For lunch, my order was red orecchiette pasta with sliced roast beef tenderloin. The pasta was nicely seasoned and warm, but the beef slices came out ICE cold! I had to check with another waiter who tried to assure me that it was served this way and only reluctantly offered to heat it if required (which we declined). Fairly certain there's no such recipe as cold beef on pasta, and the cook just overlooked the meat while cooking in the chilly outdoor. It was an awkward taste combination, and meat was soft rare on the inside. At least our other pasta dish tasted much better. For the above indiscretion, I decided to slash a portion of our tip. That's when our actual waiter showed up (after not checking on us during our meal), and caused a bit of a scene about tip while claiming that he had enjoyed the same pasta dish before. Maybe should've let him try a cold slice? Funny enough, he had the audacity to suggest that our tip amount was in EUR, which would've been worth 26 times more than the menu's CZK currency. Nice try but you wish! A small cover charge is also applied already. The food is hit-and-miss so don't order the beef tenderloin, and you might end up with a better meal experience to go along with the excellent views of the Old Town! Five star scenery. Four star food & drink (when it is served hot). Three star service. We wanted to give a large group of 20 people a lovely Prague experience for an evening, so we spoke to the U Prince Restaurant manager about making a reservation for the rooftop terrace on a Tuesday evening. We needed to place a 20,000czk deposit for that reservation, and a 40,000czk spend was required, which could also include a tab at Black Angel's Bar afterward if needed. This seemed much higher than if we had made reservations for 5 tables of 4 people, and I'm not sure that additional staff was hired for the evening to accommodate our large group, but we agreed. Just keep this in mind if you need to make a large group reservation. When managing a large group of people- restaurants can either respond by attempting to do each course at the same time, or by bringing food as it is hot, ready, and prepared to eat. In the case of U Prince- they chose to hold all meals until they were ready at the same time- and this was probably not the best strategy considering they did not have enough staff to serve all meals hot at the exact same time. Several people ended up with cold meals that they either needed to send back to be reheated, or they decided to power through a cold meal. Unfortunately, no matter how well a chef has worked to prepared a dish, if it is served cold because it has been sitting for too long, it will always taste like neglected leftovers. If we put the plates of cold food aside, and forgive the service for being testy and impatient with large tables of guests, the view is pretty much all that is left, and it is a spectacular view. A couple who was on the rooftop with us as well proposed and got engaged on the roof that night- so I'm guessing they would have a much better review for their experience. We actually have another large group of people scheduled for dinner at the same location- and we sincerely hope for a better experience the second time- which is why I am being very forthcoming about the cold food and service attitude. read more

The Terasa U Prince is one of the pricier places we visited in Prague. For a rooftop venue in the heart of tourist-central Old Town Square, it is to be expected! It wasn't the best food. My ceasar salad was kind of meh, it tasted really watery. And once or twice we felt we were waiting a while for the server to show back up. But food was not the reason we were there. We were there for the view. AND WHAT A VIEW!! Three stars alone for the rooftop view. Words can't adequately express it. And on top of that, the cocktails are top-notch! So good, we stayed longer than intended for a second beverage. I am not sure much else needs to be said other than this is a spectacular place to sip a refreshing libation in the sun. All of the possible ingredients of the day combined to make our visit greater than the sum of it's parts. We had no wait at lunch time on a week day. Reservations are probably necessary for the evening. You should ABSOLUTELY come here for a drink, if you happen to be in Prague during nice weather. We visited Terasa U Prince at the recommendation of a family friend for the honey cake. Obviously we would eat here as well. The environment was nice and even the outdoor seating offered heaters to battle the night chill. The host and wait staff were all pleasant. My wife and I ordered the Beef Goulash and old Bohemian Farmer's Pan to share. The goulash was great; both dishes came with a Carlsbad dumpling which was exceptional. My favorites in the Farmer's pan were the sausages, each variant of dumpling, and the pork chops. The pan was great as a catch all with a bit of everything. Everything here was good save for the end. The reason the restaurant received a 4 star, which may sound petty is that when paying with the card, the waiter added 160 czk for the tip. I don't mind a tip for quality of food and service, but do not like being told the amount to give or it being added without my approval. Just be aware if paying by card. You can control the tip amount with cash and they take euro or czk. read more

The view is probably one of the best in Prague! But service will be mediocre at best and menu items will be pricey (as expected). I recommend coming here around sunset so you can get a photo with day light AND at night! We ordered a couple drinks and a snack and relaxed here as a break from walking all over Prague castle in the morning/early afternoon. If you're really trying to save $, I guess you can come during the daylight, go walk around a bit and then come back at night and take your photos (lol). I know I should give an extra star for the view, but I won't. Restaurant located on the top floor of the U Prince hotel and offers a spectacular view of the Old Town Square and the clock tower. However, the view is the only worthwhile experience at the restaurant. The restaurant offers 1 (one) type of beer, one white and one red wine by the glass. Yes, there are bottles of wine available, including Krug Clos d'Ambonnay, but the bottles are quite expensive. There are lots of different liquors on the menu which are also priced accordingly. I had cod as my entree and it was cooked well. A number of people at our table had pork shoulder and it was also tasty. Also, a number of my dining companions took creme brûlée for desert and mentioned that it was delicious. You should have your dinner somewhere else and come to the restaurant only for the view. The view from the terrace is 5 stars. Definitely a place to take in the view of the town square. They also have an outdoor kitchen which was fun to watch the chefs prepare the meals. The food was good. We had the lobster and the filet of young bull. The lobster had a slivered garlic butter sauce which was yummy! The filet of bull strangely didn't have mix flavor but it was super tender. Let's face it--my two friends and I ultimately only came here for the view. However, you are much better off spending your money elsewhere. (The Old Town Hall has a great view for a cheaper price than a meal at this restaurant.) I ordered a caesar salad with chicken and found it to be quite bland and the chicken dry. It also really did not sit well for me when it came to pay for the bill. The server inputted the tip for me and proceeded to make me pay without asking if the amount was okay. As far as I can recall, tip is not decided by the server but by the customer. I decided to be nice and give him that tip amount he didn't deserve anyway but definitely told him that it wasn't appropriate for him to decide tip for me without my approval. If you MUST come here for the view, I'd just order a drink and call it a day and eat elsewhere after. read more
