He was able to cleanly cut the ring off, immediately relieve the swelling, and preserve my ring so it can be repaired. And while I was not-- he was very calm, precise, and reassuring the whole time. We DEMANDED and REQUIRED WRITTEN PRE-AUTHORIZATION AND PRE-DETERMINATION prior to any treatment to ensure no "surprise billing" and to stay within yearly insurance maximum. It was clearly documented on the patient intake form and billing contract they require you to sign (‼read the patient pay responsibility before signing) The dentist performed the first dental procedure, soon thereafter realized that we did not receive pre-authorization and pre-determination. When I asked for a copy later, I was told they couldn't provide it after the service was already done. The issues continued with December 2025 cleaning. Upon reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOB), discovered: A cleaning was performed during a separate dental work appointment without patient knowledge, which exhausted insurance benefits for the year. Consequently, December cleaning was not covered. The office billed for X-rays in December 2025 that were explicitly declined because we already made 2026 Dental appointments at a different facility and provider due to dental office' lack of transparency and communication. Formal grievance and dispute were filed with insurance and notified the Dental billing office, zero response or resolution from the dentist's side. Scheduling Irregularities Most recently, received an alarming appointment reminder for Monday, 4/20/2026 for an appointment the patient did not schedule because of work schedule conflict. ‼ Advice for Future Patients: DEMAND and REQUIRE WRITTEN Pre-Authorization and pre-determination for every treatment before it begins. Verify In-Network Status: Confirm every charge against your yearly maximum benefit. Document Everything: If you write specific requirements on their digital or paper intake forms, take a photo of it immediately. Do not rely on the office to track your specific billing constraints. Check your EOBs: Always cross-reference your insurance statements with the work actually performed to catch unauthorized billing.

On the day of my appointment I arrived on time. Everything seemed to be going smooth until I gave the receptionist my address. I was then interrogated with questions like "Why are you coming here" and "Why did you come back". There was no thank you for returning or we appreciate you being a loyal patient. Almost felt condemned about my choice to return. It caught me off guard but I explained how I liked Dr Jackie and how I really felt comfortable with her service. The receptionist kind of just stared and said "oh ok". I get to the back and I thought I was taking regular X-rays and I was told the images were for the ortho consult. I apologized for the confusion and explained that I moved forward with another Dr. for ortho and just needed the cleaning done. I also explained during a confirmation call that I no longer needed the ortho treatment just the cleaning. The hygienist returned with the receptionist and she said "I'm confused on why you're here". I explained again for cleaning services. She said "well you went to all these places how do we know if your insurance will cover the X-ray". I explained to her those Xrays were done by orthodontist and that's just a panel view not a dental X-ray and I paid for that out of pocket. She went on and on about my last dentist and you went to so many prior dentist and I don't understand why you're here. At that moment I didn't know why I was there allowing her to speak to me like a child. I said "can you call met life and see when the last submission for X-rays was". She said no and gave an exhausted explanation about her having to call my prior dentist. Mind you I went to one orthodontist who I moved forward with treatment with and my prior dentist who I mistaken my last appointment date. After I left I called met life to confirm all service submissions and come to find out I was actually seen the end of last year so none of my money was used nor has anyone submitted anything for payment. I'm sure the receptionist could've done that. Anyway, I told her I would reschedule and just her lack of professionalism threw me off. Does it matter if I drove from Brentwood? All you need to know is I like Dr Jackie and it's not coming out of your pocket. I sat in my car for five minutes going over in my head if I should walk away or stay and deal with the rude receptionist because I like Dr. Jackie's work.
