I travel for work, sometimes notified at the last minute, and it's so nice to know they're available for me (even if I do e-mail them after their requested 2-week prior window...oops). I appreciate that I'm left notes on each day the sitter visits, with details on Mango's behavior, the state of my apartment, and any concerns they might have that I can follow up on upon my return. From what I read, Mango loves the sitter! It's impressive to me because Mango is a very shy cat and very hesitant to go near strangers, especially anyone who is loud. My sitter, Lisa, must be sweet and soft-spoken for Mango to love her. I feel guilty about leaving Mango when I'm gone, but I'm put at ease by using a sitter. I don't have much experience with hiring pet sitters, but I don't think I could ask for a better one right now. She even sent me a handwritten thank you note for the tip I left her. Also, if you choose to go with APFP, follow them on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/APauseForPaws They post pictures of some of the pets they sit. It's great seeing how Mango is doing even when I'm 1,000+ miles away. All-around a great company, accommodating of my crazy schedule, and wonderful customer service. I highly recommend them to anyone needing a petsitter.

The boarders name was Lori and she was wonderful, and the dogs did fine at her house. I do not like boarding house dogs where they are kept in rows of kennels, so this was a great option. The reason I only gave this 3 stars is the price. They charge $36 a day PER DOG!! The last kennel we used gave a discount for a 2nd dog in the same family and I wish they would consider something like that. We dropped them off on a Thursday morning, had our daughter pick them up on Sunday at noon because they charge by the hour, and our bill was $259. I also tipped Lori $40 since she only gets a portion of what the company collects. Darn near cost as much as our hotel stay in Chicago for 3 nights! Janis

I was scared and annoyed with how frustrating it was to have a cat peeing on everything, especially blood, and the doctor was very attentive and gentle with V (my cat.) He's had bad experiences with vets before and is very weary of others, but he did so well with her. Thank you for being patient with both of us. Over time, V became worse with rapid weight loss, not eating, puking and hiding. I knew that he was declining and took him in multiple times as well has talked to the vet techs and doctors via phone to try different things. They were very considerate and willing to try anything for him. Ultimately, I had to put my sweet boy down based on a possible cancer diagnosis and the doctors were so kind to us and very respectful of ur last moments together. I would recommend them to any pet owner. They care about what they do and care about you as a pet owner. So much so, that they gave me the sweetest little paw prints of my guy that I will cherish forever AND donated a tree to the Arbor Day Foundation in V's honor. Little did they know, he loved to be outside and roam that meant so much to me. Thank you all for caring for me and V so well.

The motel was given an hour heads-up upon my parents returning to pick up the dogs, to find their legs covered in door feces and soaked in urine. You couldn't even bother to help clean them up even once while they were there??? Their legs were matted with feces!! My parents gave contact information should there be any problems during the dog's stay, but they were never contacted. Upon pickup, the staff said they did great while there. My parents were in shock and rushed the dogs home to bathe immediately and feed as they hardly ate during their stay. My parents had to take the 15 year old, otherwise generally healthy, shitzu to the vet asap the next day as he was very lethargic and almost did not recover from the week's stay at Trude's. Maybe if your dog is large and spends a fair amount of time outdoors normally might you have a decent experience. You would think with a veterinarian on site that they would take more pride in their services. BE WARNED! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE IF YOU LOVE THEM!!! If I could give negative stars, I would.

We had a negative experience at another boarding place in our city so we were hesitant, asked a gazillion questions, and requested a tour prior to leaving them....this place is AMAZING. No cages here! They had their own mini room together, we brought in their dog beds to have a good smell from home while they stayed. There are SEVERAL play areas inside and out with play equipment, there's area for both small and large dogs to keep them segregated if needed. They also offer individual play time if you dogs doesn't play nice with others. There are 2 pools (indoor and outdoor) which my dogs didn't get to use, but I hope they will next time. It's staffed by a bunch of young, kind, energetic animal lovers. We felt completely at ease leaving our pups there and will definitely do it again. The only thing I wish was different was I had hoped there was a live steam or a photo blog of that days guests so we could peek in on our pups while we were gone. No biggie that they didn't have this, it would have just been icing on the cake.
