Chicken: Lots of it, tender and very fresh (not dry and reheat-tasting like at too many places). Noodles: The yellow kind. Firm enough, not over- or under-cooked. Vegetables: Probably the weak link, not that many of them, surprising given the chicken quantity, and a little droopy. All I can say is that this truck is "aiight", which pretty much is a definition of three stars (synonymous with A-OK). Ordered a sampler size of teriyaki chicken and rice. Pieces of chicken were tender, and the sauce wasn't overly saccharine. There just wasn't anything all that spectacular or interesting, just chicken cooked in sauce. Likewise, the rice while good in and of itself wasn't anything to be beheld. Look, I understand that this is a sampler, but that's when the stakes are higher, not lower. This is this trucks time to shine. Suggestions for improving: add something distinguishing, like something to balance out tr overall uniform teriyaki flavor. Some spice, or better yet just a little bit of veggies. Based on the above, this place teeters between 3 and 4 stars. Warning to vegetarians - their teriyaki sauce is not vegetarian. And no where do they state this. The first time I ordered from them they did not tell me it was not vegetarian. You'd think someone ordering tofu teriyaki might be ordering it because they are vegetarian. But they did tell me the second time I ordered which I was appreciative of that, but still pissed that they didn't tell me the first time. Of course this is purely from the perspective of a vegetarian...people who eat meat probably don't care there is chicken broth in the teriyaki sauce. That being said, if you order tofu and vegetables without the sauce it is flavorless. Surprisingly good truck food for cheap. I tried the chicken on steamed vegetables and the beef on lo mein. I personally found the chicken to be under seasoned and slightly dry. The beef and lo mein, however, was excellent. Make sure to add some hot sauce! The acid in the hot sauce really helps cut through the sauce on the beef and lo mein. read more

Fried rice was dry, so probably not fresh and sitting around for a quite awhile. The meat was pretty good. Portion size was good, but could be a bit more. But at that price point, I couldn't complain. The line wasn't all that long, waited for 5 minutes to order. Then waited another 30-40 minutes to get the food. -___- Couldn't believe it takes that long to cook chicken and serve on pre-cooked fried rice. Visited them at Lawn on D, not sure how the truck has 4 stars. My friend and I both ordered two different dishes the shrimp teriyaki and the tofu teriyaki and both were terrible and flavorless. My tofu was just complete mush over white rice, pieces of cabbage and some peas. The sauce was lacking any flavor at all and was just been poured over the plain tofu, not marinated or anything. Even after adding packets of soy sauce and sriracha it was still too gross to finish, I ended up throwing half of it away. My friend's shrimp dish was pretty much the same, zero flavor, tiny shrimp just steamed and topped with sauce over rice, she didn't even finish half of hers before dumping it. Teri-Yummy was at the Lawn on D season opener on 5/15/2015. The line seemed somewhat shorter than the other trucks, so I decided to give it a try. I was with my friends, so we just put all three orders on one person's credit card. We kept it simple--3 chicken teriyakis with fried rice. I paid and then went off to the side to wait for my food. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I realized that people behind me were receiving their food already, but I continued to wait. My friend went up and asked about the status of our order 3 times, and they said "it was still being made." 45 minutes of waiting later, we all came to the conclusion that our order was either never put in or given to someone else, because the guys in the truck had no containers with our order name. After about an hour of waiting, we finally received our order, and I vowed to never eat here again. On top of it, our orders all had white rice instead of fried rice. While I was waiting, I also asked someone how the food was, and he said it was nothing different than Chinese food from a food court in a mall. I would have to agreed. Overrated. read more
