I got food poisoning from this establishment. The food was also just awful. Eat at your own risk.

Amazing! Great authentic Chinese food! (Szechuan cuisine)…read more The owners are super nice if you eat in, but I usually get it door dashed over. Portions are large and the food is well cooked and fresh! I usually get the chengdu chicken, the beef with fresh hot veggies and the egg plant with garlic. Usually whatever is on the Szechuan cuisine list is my go to lol! Definitely a great addition to Middletown! Go try it out! Won't be disappointed!

Definitely I will. So the warm Dan Dan noodles were good, well spiced, but not overwhelming and noodles themselves were chewy. Sizzling shrimp, first huge jumbo shrimp so very generous on portions, plus cooked just right and bathe completely in the sauce, plenty of diced onions and peppers and mildly spicy over all. Chicken in chili oil was my favorite, I mean a whole cut chicken fit in that container, both white and dark meat, was tender and moist, plus the chili oil was just right spicy level without being assertive. This place I find special considering it's more of authentic Chinese cuisine rather than the typical Americanized version, that alone is a big draw for this place.

Will say the dining room is beautiful and spacious. Had to get someone attention to order in, kind of weird but it was fast enough. So when The guy was showing me the menu, was cool of him to make suggestions since first time for me, he did jokingly say the end part of menu is popular since the Americanized Chinese food, I laughed and am like nah am here for the traditional, he give his suggestions in the traditional menu of what's popular, but I settled on beef ribs, white rice, pork dumplings and strawberry boba slush. For the drink, it was very refreshing and just the right amount of sweet, though I wish it had strawberry boba over the tapioca pearls. The pork dumplings were piping hot and very fresh, plenty of filling inside and not greasy. The dipping sauce was tangy and very vinegary forward, definitely a flavor trip. The beef ribs, were so melt in your mouth tender and flavorful, I really like gravy type sauce it was bathed in and really great ladled on the rice. Do wish I had more ribs though, since definitely the part of the meal, plus the plate it comes on, sells the meal. I did really appreciate how kind the people were here and very friendly as well.

And our meal came with soup, miyeok guk (traditional Korean seaweed soup). I love this soup; it's usually served on birthdays to celebrate life, so you don't usually find this in other Korean restaurants. It's light and savory. The owner is really sweet, but I'm glad the restaurant is thriving from the last time I was here.

The single hostess wasn't necessarily unpleasant but looked rather listless on her phone while we made our orders with her. I got the Jeyook Bokkeum (spicy pork) with purple rice. Can't really complain; it wasn't incredible, but it wasn't bad either. Banchan (side dishes) were decidedly average, however. We ordered the black sesame ice cream but halfway while eating it, we realized it wasn't actually black sesame (or at least didn't taste like it). Disappointing, but not enough to fully ruin the experience. Prices weren't great considering the quality of the food or location, but not prohibitive either. Considering the paucity of Asian food in Middletown, I'll give Seoul Sizzle a pass, but against greater competition, it probably wouldn't have lasted long in NYC.

The waitress never once asked how our food was, never asked if we wanted another beverage, never asked if we wanted dessert, and when we asked for additional sauce, she acted as though we were inconveniencing her. As soon as it appeared we were finished, our plates were taken away and the check was essentially tossed onto the table. We didn't make a single complaint during the meal. Normally, I'll simply eat the bad meal, pay the bill, and make the decision to never return. No scene, no argument, no bad review. But then came the part that really surprised us. We paid our bill by card, but planned on leaving the server a cash tip, which is something I personally prefer to do because I like knowing the server receives their tip directly. Apparently, because there was no tip written on the credit card receipt, the waitress came back to our table and loudly said, "You didn't tip." In a restaurant full of people, being publicly called out about a tip was incredibly uncomfortable and embarrassing. And the irony is that we had not complained once about the cold food, the service, or anything else. Needless to say, there won't be a next time. On top of the experience, the restaurant itself felt dirty and run down, and there was a noticeable odor. The two fish tanks--without fish and apparently without much attention either--certainly didn't help. They looked and smelled like they had been forgotten about a long time ago. Maybe the food and service are better on another night, but based on our experience tonight, we won't be finding out. Sometimes the best way to lose a customer isn't one big mistake. It's a whole series of little ones--and then making sure they feel uncomfortable before they leave.

If you check out my posts, we love Korean BBQ. Unfortunately, the meats were all under seasoned. The pork belly was really bland, I tired dipping into the sauces but even that couldn't enhance the taste. My son loves egg soufflé and if you see the picture, this does not compare to the egg soufflés we've been to. Unfortunately, even the kids had a literal bad taste in their mouth. The cooking area was small and the heat not strong enough that after cooking the first 6 half strips of thinly sliced pork belly, we had to wait 7 minutes for the next batch to cook. Yeah, the place does look very deserted but picks up after 7-7:30 pm. Reading other reviews, I'm glad that some people find the place great but for Korean style BBQ and meat flavor, they totally missed the mark. You can definitely improve a lot on this.

Honestly it was refreshing to get good service that felt real. So the beef Ttukbaegi bulgogi, I thoroughly enjoyed, a lot of beef and well flavored and not an overkill of veggies. But would loved some more mushrooms though. The sauce/stew itself was really good, I keep drink it and pouring over my rice. I found the rice okay, but definitely jasmine over hard boiled rice preferred. I liked side salad and wish I had more, it had a-bit of spiced edge and was better than the typical ginger dressing you get. The bubble tea was perfect, not overly sweet and generous on the size of it, but definitely would do better in another glass since straw could not reach the boba pops well enough. another note, always appreciate a place that gives you large glass to refill your water.
