We ordered Teriyaki Madness through the website on our way back from Savers because literally anything would have been better than going to Wonder. It was our first time here. Upon arrival I was handed our cups so we could go get our drinks awhile, Idk why but I love minutemaid lemonade and they had dr. pepper too. We did not have to wait for the food for long. The dining area is clean, it has a takeout/diner feel with comfortable booths. People were walking in at ten minutes to closing and the workers were still taking their orders. Please don't do that to them, I felt bad enough picking up at 8:45 but we were at Savers until late. Ordering online is too easy, though I'm not impressed with Teriyaki's system: I was shorted the 60¢ sauce I added, and when I went to refer back to my order to confirm I added it--because I had signed up to take advantage of a coupon--it's missing completely from my account. I checked later on too. It's no big deal really since I had a coupon anyway, I'm just a huge sauce person so one wasn't enough for me! I'm more concerned with why my past orders aren't showing up on the account. I don't really feel like downloading the app because this place is out of the way for us. The food is pricy but to be fair you get a lot. I can make 3 meals out of a regular 1 protein large portion order: i appreciate that they're generous with the rice and veggies (broccoli, onion slivers, zucchini slices). It gets expensive when you tack on things like turning a bowl into a meal with a side and a drink. I wanted to try the crab rangoon so I ordered that with "fill my own drink." I want edamame next time. Partner and I both opted for tofu because we love it though everything sounded pretty good. They got noodles and I got the rice. Expect to pay around $19 per person for bowls if you're extremely hungry or desire leftovers--it all gets put in a reusable container which is pretty cool of them. Everything tastes better with chopsticks. We were starving because we are poor planners so we dug into crab rangoons before we took our order to go. It's different than typical Chinese rangoons: the crust was thicker and flakier with a bolder flavor--if you can think of like Chinese noodles we used to get at those places for free? It's kind of like that. Not greasy either. They were good! I'm satisifed with the portions, presentation, freshness, and taste. The only thing that would keep me from choosing this place first is the price; it catches you off guard with multiple upcharges. But it's a very good takeout option if you're in the area and need leftovers. I would consider eating from here again. With a coupon, lol. read more

Lets start with portion sizes here...MASSIVE. My wife and I both had leftovers. They give you a side of their famous Teriyaki Sauce (extremely good). Orange Chicken had a great taste. Teriyaki Madness is definitely a no frills, basic, but seemingly clean spot serving decent Chinese inspired food. It's very similar to Panda Express but a bit better in my opinion. She had the hate the world attitude from the start, so i placed my order and i get the same thing I've gotten 29 times before. when the order came out it was wrong, so i said something with a real bad attitude grabs the receipt and tri to show me that that's what i ordered. i said no i order the same thing every time im there. Got lunch takeout from here and it was pretty standard fast Asian food fare. The chicken teriyaki was a bit too sweet for me but did the job. I got mine with brown rice and broccoli. 3 stars as the order took too long to be made when ordered ahead and it was packed sloppily causing one of the orders to leak and make everything sticky. read more

The food here is really good. i can't express enough how much I actually do like the food. That said, from experience it can take a few minutes or like 45 minutes or more to get your food. It's fairly inconsistent and when we order for lunch at work we now just err on the side of caution and order by phone at least 30 minutes before we plan on picking up. Scrolling through my past reviews I noticed that might have been an out of body experience. Was TM ever that good? To be fair, yeah. Noodles and hot chicken bits in a bowl? It's so simple that practice could only make it amazing. It started off with a 5-star review because the bowls were exactly what I wanted. But the last two times I ordered from this location, they made the order incorrectly and decided to put the most feral, unhappy person on a stool at the front counter for my last visit. The first problem order was a delivery that came with everything I didn't want. It was a DoorDash thing, so I tossed out the food and got a refund. I'm not a fan of this because I paid money, waited to eat, spent another 20 minutes dealing with it, and still didn't have dinner. Also, I had to wait 2 business days for the refund. I emailed the TM franchise office and explained this. I got a call soon after from one of the owners PROMISING things would be better. She provided free coupons, which I used a week or so later, to get another bowl. I ordered for pick-up that time. When I picked up the order, the woman at the counter acted like I interrupted her private time the moment I walked in the door. My order was late for some reason, but they were almost done with it. Or, as the cashier put it "Ain't done yet but go sit down and we'll tell you when it done." When "it done", "it wrong". It was obvious from the green stuff visible through the cover on the bowl. "You sure?" I looked at the order slip, confirmed it was wrong, and then watched the cashier's one-act play about injustice and unreasonable expectations of consumers regarding food service employees. I left and sent the owner an email just to tell her that I appreciated her effort, but the store needed to change. To be fair, she apologized and told me she would deal with management. Months later, I was in the strip mall waiting for Lady Matilda to finish her shopping and decided to try again. When I walked in to order, that same person was sitting on her stool reading a book in an empty restaurant while the kitchen staff was laughing and goofing around behind her. Nah. read more

We placed an order on the TMAD app--went in when the app indicated the food would be ready. It wasn't, which was not a big deal, really. What WAS a big deal is that when we finally got our takeout meals, they were horrible. The "veggies" consisted of cabbage and one small piece of broccoli (for both bowls). The chicken was dry and flavorless. Brown rice was dry and flavorless--same for fried rice. We were here after a really bad CS experience 18 months ago and this cinches it--never again. I understand that staffing issues are affecting the food service industry hard right now. This location shouldn't be open for the lunch rush with only two employees. We waited just over 40 mins for our lunch today. Granted, it was the lunch rush and I wouldn't have minded if the food was good. It was bland. There was only one cook, and I felt so bad for the young cashier. At one point there were 14 of us waiting for food. Orders were getting mixed up because people don't listen and picked up someone else's order, which caused the lone cook to redo the food. This isn't my first time here, last time the food was pretty good. I got the chicken katsu. Chicken was good, but the rice and veggies had no flavor, couldn't even taste salt. Although the sauce is good, it didn't make up for the blandness of the rest of the dish. Please, if you don't have enough staff, don't stay open. The food location next door had a sign on the door stating no staff, closed. I would rather have tried again another day to visit than put that stress on your employees to deal with hangry customers and have it reflect badly on the food. read more

I had my first teriyaki madness experience this past weekend in the shop in Harrisburg that just opened up. I was very excited to have the option in our area. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from beginning to end. - I ordered ahead with 1.5 hours notice. My meal still wasn't ready 15 minutes after my order-ahead time. - There were nine small pieces of chicken in the orange chicken dish. Not enough to make a dinner meal. The teriyaki chicken was overcooked - The dishes were 80% starch (rice or noodle), 10% minimally grilled veggies, and 10% chicken. I don't spend $9 to buy a bowl full of mostly rice. - The taste was... fine. I mean, teriyaki is delicious, so when I doused it in extra teriyaki sauce, it was good. But it was nothing spectacular. I ordered to go but a very cool space and nice appealing modern decor. They gave me two nice containers of Teriyaki sauce with my meal. Had a hard time not stopping on way home to devour my meal and when I arrived home still nice and hot. It was absolutely delicious and the quantity was generous. Okay I guess I am seeing why the reviews are so poor and I am super bummed because there are places like this in other areas that just hit, and sadly this doesn't. As a rewards member I received a free bowl for my birthday and I redeemed it and added two more bowls to share with the family. I got the salmon teriyaki, the steak and chicken combo, and tofu. The rice, again, was bland. I definitely ordered white rice but we appeared to have brown rice. The veggies, again, were sparse and were so cooked that they practically disintegrated. Or perhaps we didn't have much, couldn't tell. The salmon was cooked so hard you couldn't even cut it with a fork. I needed to grab a knife to slice it. And it was chewy. The Steak was so caramelized I couldn't even tell it was steak. It was more like jerky. Slimy jerky. The chicken was burnt. The tofu was just an embarrassment to tofu. The sauce which we needed to combat the bland rice and lack of veggies was so salty. Oh Teriyaki Madness have you gone mad? I want to like you so much. I'll give them this, the make a tasty chicken egg roll. Everything else just fell flat, my wife made the comment that I make the same food better at home on my outdoor griddle she was serious. It's bad when I don't finish my meal. It's one thing to say it's bad, but my hopes were initially dashed by the smell of the food. It didn't smell good, it didn't make me want to eat it. It looked fine visually but the flavors weren't right, the fried rice wasn't right. Ironically the Yelper who said they got "9 pieces" exactly of orange chicken, is my twin! For 9 dollars and change, this on a whim lunch was pricey and disappointing. The establishment is clean and new, and I was greeted promptly -but the exchange betwixt myself and the girl at the register was awkward, to say the least. She rushed to make me order and I was the only one there, and new...so I thought that weird. Then the person in the back seemed to time their outlandishly loud chopping of who knows what?...to match every time I'd try to speak. The fried rice was mushy and lacking in flavor, def not fried or authentic in any way. The fresh veggies were crunchy and nice, but for 9 dollars the portion was tiny. The tofu looked like hard stones but was okay. I get that it can't be very authentic Chinese food, but it was advertised to look pretty good. Let me start off by saying I am SOOO happy to have a restaurant like this in the area! We need more quick casual dining spots with quality food! We came here during their first couple days (and again a month later) our experience during their launch consisted of over an hour of waiting for our order but once we got it we were very happy with the fresh delicious food that we received, the staff here is very helpful and kind. We came back about a month later and the quality of food was just as amazing as the first time which truly surprised me! And the wait was not long at all. I can see this place becoming a weekly staple in many people's routine as it's super convenient and tasty! We had the teriyaki bowl and the spicy chicken bowl (was not a fan of the spicy chicken bowl) the teriyaki bowl was great! The second time we came back I asked an employee if they'd tried the orange chicken and they said it was good so I decided to give it a try and was not let down! Just wish there was more orange chicken in my bowl, it was so good though and pairs well with their fried rice and veggies, I would HIGHLY recommend trying this place and if your only experience was when they just opened and were figuring everything out (as to be expected by any restaurant) I'd suggest giving them another try. I will 100% be back to this restaurant within the next month or possibly even sooner! read more
