She was so helpful and answered all our questions about the menu and restaurant. We decided to share the nachos and the prime rib stroganoff and it was the perfect combo! The nachos were cheesy and flavorful and the stroganoff (which was thoughtfully split for us into two separate bowls) was so creamy and yummy with lots of prime rib. Per our server's suggestion, we finished our meal with the Sopapilla Cheesecake... OMG! Not too much cheesecake, a flaky pastry bottom and a crispy, cinnamon-y top layer. SO GOOD. So that's fine; we ordered the 5 most appealing meats and sides. Oddly, drinks had to be ordered and paid for separately, at the bar. Extra hassle. These are the things we would order again: Brisket, pulled pork, elk sausage, cornbread, french fries, and mashed potatoes. Good stuff. The pork belly was new to us. A fun, one-time experiment. The ribs may have been competition-cooked, as opposed to fall-off-the-bone. We prefer the latter. They still weren't bad. The cream corn had good flavor but the corn's texture gave it away as old; it was kind of tough. I'm a mustard potato salad guy, and the potato salad here is the opposite of that, if there is such a thing. The beans were undercooked, plain and simple. That aside, I am not a fan of the way they were seasoned. We tried all 4 barbecue sauces and liked 3 of them - BBQ, Medium, and Hot (which isn't very). BBQ was our favorite. Can you go to White Paper BBQ and get a good meal? Absolutely. But ya gotta order carefully.

This was hands-down the best breakfast we've had in a long time. My husband ordered a skillet, and I had an omelet. When two of us walked in, we got there 15 minutes early and were hoping to enjoy a cocktail at the bar before being seated at the table. The bar only has 4 seats and it was full. The host responded, "the cocktail will taste the same at your table as it would at the bar", which came off as kind of arrogant and dismissive. Anyway, we were seated right away upstairs as our table was ready ahead of time. Our table included a bench seat against a brick wall with a few small pillows and 5 chairs. The seating against the wall was quite uncomfortable. When our entire party arrived and we ordered cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I'm giving 3-stars for food because it was hit or miss. Half our group liked their meal and the other half did not. We all agreed the best thing we had from the menu was the tiramisu dessert and I really enjoyed the small garden salad, which was actually a generous portion and I liked the radish included! I also want to say thank you to our waitress for not kicking us out when the restaurant closed, she let us enjoy our time together without making us feel rushed.
