Food was always 4 stars and you could overlook the establishment itself and that it's served out of Styrofoam containers because it was a good value. over the past 6 months things have taken a turn. Value is very poor now. Prices increased drastically to the same level as all the other sit down Chinese places. With a little interaction with her and another man when I ordered left a bad taste in my mouth. We ordered 2 dinners, and crab rangoon. Other than the servings were big, nothing to write home about. Sally's Kitchen is a not good match for us. Please do try it out and make your own decision. Alright, if you're into hidden gems, Sally's Kitchen is the place for you! It's a Chinese restaurant in a gas station! Yup, legit Chinese eats in a gas station! Don't go to PE for Chinese food - they're a dime a dozen! Plus PE doesn't have the variety on their menu that Sally's does. Your order is fresh, made-to-order in their open kitchen. I have to admit, I was worried the first time I came through, but I didn't have any issues. I've ordered the Triple delight lunch special which comes with rice (steamed or fried), an egg roll and soup (egg flower or hot & sour). They give you generous portions for the price ($7.25). Recently I got their beef chow fun lunch special and it's just as good as any Chinese restaurant I've been to. Is it the best Chinese I've had? No. But it's pretty decent, especially for the price! Okay, I came back a second time and my 3 star rating stands. I ordered the orange chicken lunch special with hot and sour soup. $7.80 including tax and took about 10 minutes to receive. I'm pretty sure the soup gave me some sort of poisoning bc 2 hours after consumption, I had the biggest headache I've had in months and threw up. The chicken was rather good. I really liked how it was curated with orange peel and dried chili in the sauce and served over a bed of dry noodle flakes. I'm leaving FoCo next week so I won't be able to give them a third try. In sum, Sally's kitchen is a risky but cheat joint. If you have a strong stomach and want to save some money, this is the place. Otherwise... Since I've heard so many good things about the food at Sally's, I decided to try it out on a Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Normally I would've ordered online or via phone, but I was under the impression that this was a fast food place, similar to Panda Express. Apparently I was mistaken because I waited 40 minutes for one order of combo lo mein. This is not to say that the service was slow; it just seemed that they were understaffed. I could only see one woman in the kitchen preparing orders, most of which appeared to be large call-in orders. When the guy working the register & taking orders (both on the phone & at the counter) had a chance, he did assist in the kitchen, but he didn't have much of an opportunity to do so. There is seating, but it seems that most people get takeout. My meal was just mediocre, but it was freshly made and the serving was large. This place is so good. Our first time trying Sally's Kitchen and it's bomb. We ordered Chicken Fried Rice with extra egg and my husband got Sesame Chicken and it comes with an order of steamed rice on the side. Service was great and it is made to order which is fantastic. I have been a big foodie for my whole life, and I was looking for the best Chinese food in town (Fort Collins area). This place is far from that... I have no idea why this place has a 4 star rating, but I would give it a 0 star rating if possible. The sweet and sour chicken had the sauce on the side and tasted awful, the chop suey looked like actually soup with lard literally falling out of the plate, and the texture and taste of the chicken in the fried rice and Lo mein was far from edible. We ordered 4 plates that were ready in less than 10 minutes, but it was obvious that there was no love or care in the production of these dishes. Out of the past 40 restaurants I've enjoyed all of them, however this was the worst food I've had in Colorado by far. Save your money and go to Panda Express, this place will disappoint. read more

Be amazed - their cooking is reminiscent of a visit to a legitimate China town in San Francisco. It's no different! If you've ever lived on the west coast, and miss it, you might try Sally's Kitchen. But after becoming a Yelp elite, I mostly focus on allergies in kitchens... I knock them down one star because they only have 2 possible options on the menu without gluten. The decor and atmosphere was not welcoming or a place you would ever want to dine in. But that's ok, it obviously a take out place. I ordered drunken noodles and curry chicken. Drunken noodles with beef was almost tasteless - truly bad. It was so dry that it was hard to eat. In fact I did not Curry chicken - again, a real lack of flavor. Wish I could give this a much better review seeing as all others have left glowing reviews for Sally's. When trying to call in, we continuously got "caller busy" signal, which we looked at the bright side thinking "dang, they are really busy!" Might have been faster to go in person, order, and wait. The lady that answered was friendly and provided us wait time, but did not want to give me total cost over the phone for some reason. When we got our food, it smelled great and looked appetizing. When trying new places we really like to try the basic stuff to see if they can make it and have it actually be tasty.. that wasn't the experience here. The sesame chicken was fairly decent, lots of ginger flavor, thick coating of the glaze, tender, and juicy. The portion was pretty generous too. The beef lo mein was truly the worst I have ever had. It left the taste of what the smell of a port-o-potty has. We could not stand the taste of these noodles. The beef had a strange texture to it, almost slime-like. I was disappointed because they give you a MASSIVE amount, and they looked good.. however, appearance isn't everything. The appetizers we got were the Gyoza, rangoons, and chicken egg rolls. All were just okay. The wonton skin they use for the rangoons were the airy kind that filled with any oil they use, and the portions weren't the greatest. The gyoza and egg rolls were pretty alright.
