We've been loyal Terminix customers for over 5 years specifically to keep ants out of our home. For a long time, their service worked, no issues. But this year has been a complete disaster. The ant problem is worse than ever, and despite having Terminix out three times in the past month, the situation continues to deteriorate. Ants are showing up all over the house, in places with no food, no moisture, no reason they should be there. It's beyond frustrating. We called to cancel the service, but they assured us they would take care of the issue and scheduled a follow-up visit for Wednesday between 3 PM and 5 PM. So we waited. And waited. No one ever showed up. When we called to find out what happened, we were told the appointment had been canceled, without anyone notifying us. My wife took time off work and sat around for nothing because Terminix didn't have the decency to inform us of the cancellation. I don't know what has happened to their service, but it's clear they're no longer capable of solving the problem we hired them for. We're done. I'll be canceling our account and finding a company that actually delivers on its promises. read more

Spent almost 8K last month.....have some issues now, cannot get anyone to respond to my calls or messages...I will continue to try and get in touch with a human being until someone decides to answer our calls...They sure did not have any problem taking our hard earned money and then dashing on us...its been a week now and no response. I wish I had checked Yelp before calling these robbers. Sales person (inspector) came out and told me that termite evidence on the ground was cricket droppings and said the damage I saw was only wood rot. He was totally incompetent at inspecting. When he told me that he was honest and trustworthy I should have seen the red flag. The technicians that came to do wood repair only applied bondo to patch the wood. They did not treat the active infestation. They did not remove wood-rot damaged wood before filling. After they applied lipstick, I got on the ladder and probed the suspect areas. There were major issues. I took videos of how bad the damage was and insisted that they do the job correctly. The sales guy said that I damaged their work. Pathetic. I told them I would accept a refund for the terrible work performed. He said he had to check with management. A week later I got a message that I had to pay $1291 as charged for the two hours of incompetent service and they would not address the three damage areas in the original sales contract. After 25 years with them they are a major disappointment and I would consider them almost a scam... This has been one of the WORST EXPERIENCES with respect to client service. Absolute nightmare... where do I start? First of all, these guys were hired to do a fumigation job. They showed up and did the termite fumigation, BUT terminix&their affiliates ruined my roof. I paid for a roof replacement add on, and they have not paid me back for work they didn't do on my roof. I made the decision to rescind as they hiked up the price and did not want to honour the original negotiated price. Shame on them. Now, return my money. Anyhow, I kindly asked for my money back for work not done as I did not want to continue to do business with them. They haven't returned my money. It has been several weeks. This is robbery. Terminix, why can't you do the right thing and refund the money back to my original payment method for work NOT DONE? Do you take pride in robbing those who look vulnerable, like, a single mom with a young toddler? I've called the office several times, I've tried to get in touch with, Brian Rucker, the area manager & have left him several voicemails and emails- No Response. I've been sending emails to a rep, Patrick Warren, to check on the status of my refund. No response. I've called corporate- & Corporate allegedly can't do anything on their end, so I might have to write a letter to the BBB & the state contractors license board to report this incident and other dodgy behaviour I have noticed on their end. The dodgy behaviour In addition to this refund nightmare: lack of communication and transparency required by law, like, withholding documents and not providing certain documents to me that is required by law. Did they give me a standard residential home improvement contract form that addresses right of rescission included? NO. By law it to be given to me & signed by all parties involved. (It was NEVER given to me). This is a problem and I will Address this in my info to State Contractors License Board as they did not provide this contract (Again, REQUIRED BY LAW) or the information on the contractors and/or subcontractors they hired to work on the property- Also required by law. I am curious to know... What do they have to hide? Why won't they disclose? What would be some reasons they aren't disclosing? Are the subcontractors UNLICENSED? Not bonded and Uninsured? It's up to the state to investigate & I'll include all of these concerns to the board as well. This whole situation is beyond frustrating as processing a refund should be easy. & After speaking to some friends and neighbors who have dealt with their own Terminix nightmare, I've come to the conclusion that Terminix is the WORST of all pest control providers and isn't known for being honourable, for the most part. I recently had Terminix come out for a free inspection and he gave me a quote that totaled out to $5400, and told me that I needed to replace my attic's insulation. In the same week, I had another pest control specialist come to look at my attic, said that there was no damage to the insulation, and he didn't charge me for it. I have a Contracting CO and I am VERY DISAPPOINTED that I trusted Terminix with a job. They never showed up to the scheduled tenting job we had, and didn't even realize it until I told them. The field rep told me the Office made a mistake and closed out our job, so no one ever showed up to do it. They were able to scramble and do the tenting job that week, but that doesn't help the tenant who had to get another hotel for 2 more days and 2 more days worth of food while away from her house. They promised up and down they would reimburse the expenses incurred due to the mistake they made but have not gotten back to us. The first sales manager Ray, "retired" during this ordeal and the second manager that took over, Shane Brown, got sick for weeks and then hasn't responded to anymore calls from us. I am trying to reach Corporate, but they have a good wall of service reps you have to talk to that won't give out any other manager's numbers. Someone needs to be held accountable. I am so disappointed in the way Terminix handled this situation. I regret ever trusting this company who is so well known, I have lost all trust in their competence and integrity. Used them twice by mistake. One time they set rat traps and they never came back to check them. Second time sprayed yard and house and never received an invoice. I'm now being charged on my credit card for a yearly agreement that I have never seen or signed for. Called office and was on the line for 2 hours. They first denied I was a customer but since they sent out an employee to spray I owed them an additional $150 . Terminix does not hold true to their word. We had service issues almost 2 years ago and agreed to give Terminix another try when they offered to discount our rate to $79/quarter "going forward" What that ended up being is for that 1 time.., and then they increased it back to the original price, and then they increased it ABOVE our original contract price...WITHOUT NOTIFYING US. Now get this... We have had a huge wasp nest and many spider webs on the send floor of our house for more than 6 months now. When Terminix came out for our service the tech said he had to come back with a tall ladder to get it (never did and no response. Prior to our next service (3 months later), I put in our notes to the tech to bring a large ladder to get the second floor roof. He brought a long poll and when got here said he couldn't reach it and would have to come back with a ladder. To which I reminded him specifically that he promised this last time and requested when exactly he would return. His response was 4 days "at the latest"... well he never came back and never responded to multiple texts just asking for an update. Yet I was charged a PREMIUM for the service (above our discounted rate and above our original contract rate). I call customer service to bring up these issues. Specifically the billing and the wasp/spider webs on 2nd floor. They scheduled a tech to come out the next day to handle the 2nd floor and said I would be contacted by a branch manager about the billing. You're not going to believe this... 1) In true Terminix fashion. No branch manager ever gave me a call. 2). The tech came out and said he didn't bring a tall ladder to get the 2nd floor! We still have a huge wasp nest on our second floor. I had to spend more money and a trip to Home Depot to kill them myself (counted 23 total wasps) and the nest is still up there! I have used this Terminex office for over 20 years to have pest control. They have been amazing. Someone came out a few months ago and told me I had termites. I was in the middle of a personal thing going on and I could not schedule them but said I would want to tent and fix the wood in January. I have emailed, I have called, I have called, I have called and no one has gotten back to me. This is unacceptable. It's going to cost me almost $6000 and I'm willing to do it and they don't call me. I planned a trip and bought airline tickets so I could be gone for three days and they still won't call me. I explained why it is so important. Currently moving to a new home, we got terminix to come out and do a termite report for the buyers. So this is what happened... Got a $9122.00 quote for termite removal! (Picture attached!) We did a fumigation process through terminix in less than 20 months, and somehow we get termites again?? To the extent to fumigate the house again?!? Well, guess what happens when I call and tell em that I have been a customer and that we have fumigated the house in less than 2 years ago!! The bill becomes $600.00 and suddenly our house is termite free!!!! (Picture attached!) WTF??!?! I get a written and verbal statement that our house is magically termite FREE and that we need to replace an old piece of dry wood that was infected by termites long time ago and is not active. Since terminix does not to dry wood removals, a third party had to come on out. Wouldn't it be nice if that's where this scam business stops? No! I make 17 phone calls of tracking them down awaiting for the 3rd party that terminix claims to be associated with to call back. I even get to talk to the inspector on his cell (Frank Foglia) to be reassured that the third party will be contacting me and that he will relay messages to branch manager (Andrew Flemmings) for lack of communication! Only after 12 days of contact calling, I get the info that they are no longer doing business with this third party company and that they can not complete the service that they've promised! WTF?!?! I'm closing my house in less than 10 days and I'm left with NO report and NO resolution! What pisses me off more than anything is that it was ME who constantly called! Do not be taken by these guys!!!!! Signed up for bi monthly service even though they were more expensive than others but the neighbor used them so went ahead. That offered a "free" follow-up inspection for pests in the attic, crawl space, etc which we said sure. The tech said he found evidence of termites in the attic and my wife agreed to have them treat the area. Are signing the contract, they immediately charged her credit card before the guy even left and a week before any service was to be performed. When I printed out the contract, the only age that did not print out was the notice of cancellation . Pretty sneaky on their part. Then the only way to cancel is to deliver to their office the notice that doesn't print by mail(3 days in todays world, right) physically deliver or telegram? Who uses a telegram in 2024? Very suspicious. I called to cancel all services but was told I'd have to call a different department to cancel the termite treatment. I said no cancel all or have them call me first thing in the morning. No phone call as expected. Now I have to go to their office to deliver in person, four days out of shoulder surgery to cancel this service which turns out was way overpriced to begin with. STAY AWAY. I can't tell you how angry I am with this company, I've been using them for five years and the past year it the worst service if any. I had a total invasion of ants twice this week and tried to reach them with no reply as well as my guy who comes here. I also have noticed several spiders and webs all over my yard I can't even enjoy my backyard nor can I walk out the front door without running into webs. I used a local contractor for a couple of years before Terminix bought him out. I should have switched to another pest control provider then but I did not. So I signed up for a number of programs to protect my home. I was afraid of termites so I had bait stations installed and they did spot treatment in the attic. I paid dearly for this service. They came out in the spring of 2023 and did an inspection. They said I had some dry rot termite damage that they could repair (but I had to pay for it). They proceeded to repair and do another treatment in the attic. It was only a few weeks later that my exterior painter noted numerous termite damage spots in my eaves. So bad that it took him an additional 2 weeks to complete the paint job. I immediately fired Terminix and got another company to fumigate the house. What a hassle. I feel like Terminix did really nothing to protect my home from termites and when they did something, they didn't do enough to really protect it. They did a good job on the monthly exterior pest control service. The technician was great, friendly, and competent. But their total incompetence with termites was what led me to fire them. read more

I have been a loyal customer customer of Terminix for the past 4 years, Faithfully paying for termite protection coverage. As per our contract I bought "TERMINIX PROMISE PLUS" coverage and it say: {The Terminix Promise Plus means you can relax knowing we will keep termite out of your home. long as you keep your plan we will cover any additional treatment and repair any new termite damage}.I paid $110 monthly for first year and as of today still I am paying $38.00 month for the plan. With understanding that my home would be protected from termite infestations. Last month I noticed signs of termite activity in my home and promptly contacted Terminix. An inspector confirmed the presence of termite .However when I reached out to my sales person who cover Mission Viejo area I was told that type of termite infesting my home is not covered under my contract ,As I had explicitly asked for comprehensive termite protection when I purchased the plan .Despite my repeated attempts to resolve the issue ,including requesting to speak with a supervisor I received no response, As a retired senior I feel neglected and deceived by Terminix. I trusted them to protect my home ,but they failed. I urge Terminix to stand by their word and provide the service I have paid for. I've been a Terminix customer for a year now and am super happy with them and the reason why is because of my excellent service technician: Troy Shaw. Troy is the nicest guy who always provides above and beyond customer service. Even though he is high in demand, Troy never makes me feel rushed and I always feel valued as a customer. What I like best about Troy is that he is very smart and knows a lot about the different kinds of insects and pests that I want to exterminate. Troy is a wealth of knowledge helping me get rid of them and also to learn about them too. I also like how Troy is very detail oriented so I feel that I am getting the best service because he has a lot of experience on knowing which spray or bait to use and where best to put it. Troy Shaw is the reason that I stay with Terminix and recommend Terminix to all my friends! The only thing I don't like about Terminix is the call center (horrible to deal with!) but I've luckily been able to avoid that most of the time by scheduling online and reaching out to Troy. If you get lucky enough to get a great technician like Troy (or Andrew) then you should be very happy because Terminix has high quality products that get rid of all the nasty insects and creepy crawlies. read more

I have had a policy with them for over ten years and have had termites for over seven months that they have not eliminated. They continue to not call back, never pick up calls and don't bother responding to texts. Don't give them a penny because you are throwing your money away. I have used Terminix for several years. They came out to spray for mosquitos they sprayed my plants instead of just the pots. Every one of my plants died within 2 days. I also had a tree that was 10 years old, all of the leaves fell off in two days. When I called Laguna Hills Terminix he said he would send me the label, it could not have killed my plants,. Nope. Horrible experience. I had an issue in my kitchen. They left without really addressing that, but sold me on a monthly subscription for termite control. I'm an idiot for saying yes, but the technician basically scares you into it because we laymen don't know anything about bugs and just want to protect our house. Midway through the subscription I called to ask what it would take to cancel the subscription because some life issues were affecting my finances and I had to cut the unnecessary expenses for a while. They said I can't - even if I lost my job, all income, etc. - its iron-clad and they wouldn't be flexible.. The only option is to pay the balance of $500. Again, I was the idiot who signed the contract so I can't really argue. But I said, "Forget it, I'll just continue the monthly and cancel it when it runs out. I can't just drop $500 right now." Roughly two months later, I see a charge from them for $495. I assume they went ahead and cancelled without my permission. Now I'm dealing with the bank to dispute the charge. Here is the bigger issue - YOU CANNOT REACH ANYONE AT THE LAGUNA HILLS OFFICE. You can only call the main corporate number but they will not connect you to the local office. But the corporate person said all decisions about my account (whether to cancel or not) happen at the local office and they (corporate) were powerless to do anything. And he said they can't reach the local office by phone either, only email. I am still in the middle of dealing with this but just had to vent. I can't write a review on the services because they never even showed up!! I scheduled an appointment online and was anxiously awaiting their arrival between a two hour time frame given to me. When they were 5 minutes late, I called the company to ensure someone was coming and the representative told me they were in route to come. An hour later passed and I called again only to be told by another representative that my appointment was never in the system (despite my email confirmation). Hire anyone but Terminix. Their truck had a problem and leaked gas all over the street in front of my house in Irvine. I called the supervisor, Daniel P. He told me he'd take care of it. A week goes by, he did nothing. I left two more voicemails, he never returned my calls. I call back and leave a message for the branch manager, Brian. Again, no call back. Terrible service. Called to get a follow up visit and got it scheduled. They didn't show up. Called to find out why and they said we needed to wait two weeks which is fair enough but the first rep wasn't knowledgeable about that rule. Rescheduled the 2 week follow up and they said they came out and didn't. Called customer service to let them know and canceled my contract. Now they are calling me to collect another month payment after I canceled and threatening collections. Rep was so rude and wouldn't hear my story. Said I was wrong and basically said "its only" $50.
