Terrible service. Called to get a follow up visit and got it scheduled. They didn't show up. Called to find out why and they said we needed to wait two weeks which is fair enough but the first rep wasn't knowledgeable about that rule. Rescheduled the 2 week follow up and they said they came out and didn't. Called customer service to let them know and canceled my contract. Now they are calling me to collect another month payment after I canceled and threatening collections. Rep was so rude and wouldn't hear my story. Said I was wrong and basically said "its only" $50. Not a lot to me but I am sure to some people it is. read more

After spending 30+ years in the hospitality business and sick of moving around the country I got into real estate. So as you can imagine, I take the service I provide my clients very seriously and I have zero tolerance for companies that provide poor service let alone what I consider criminal. Terminix is like insurance, as long as you don't need them they all are great, but when you do you find out how good they are or are not. My client, a homeowner paid Terminix,(since 2011) their fee to inspect and spray for bugs and termites. With that comes a quarterly termite inspection and report that always said her home is clear of termites. The last report was done less then one month before my client decides to sell her home. Typically one of the requirements to sell a home is to show that the home is clear of termites, if the buyer's lender requires. The proof is a clearance certification. That usually comes with a one year warranty by the company that conducts the inspection once repairs/fumigation is completed if necessary. So, my client asks for a clearance certification since that most recent report and all others previously says her home is free and clear of termites. Terminix' response was that if you want a clearance certificate then that is a separate inspection, which costs around $350. When asked why that would be, since it is always clear and she paid to have them keep it clear for all years, they tell you that "it is done by a trained inspector and the termite inspection they do is a different inspection than the one they do quarterly." So the question is why did my client pay all this money for the preventive maintenance program if it is not worth anything when you need it? Now that the trust was gone, we hired another termite company to inspect and of course they found major termite damage to the tune of $4700. By the way, she had Terminix come out, when they offered to come out for free after she complained and they confirmed what the other company found. Needless to say my client will never use them again and is in the process of pursuing alternative actions to against Terminix for the amount of repairs for not standing by the very programs own they convince the unsuspecting, trusting public to buy. read more

I would give no stars if I could! My service has been quarterly. They bill after the service is performed and raise my price by 18 to 20 percent each time with NO notification. Looks to me like they are trying to make up for stock's (RTO) drop due to dip in net profits over a 3-year period and a number of acquisitions at expense of clients like me. I've had a really terrible experience trying to get an inspection from this branch of Terminix. We found termites and had them confirmed by a different company, but Terminix told our connecting neighbors that we didn't have termites. We wanted Terminix to come out to inspect our side of the property and confirm the infestation, and get a secondary estimate. I had an inspection scheduled with John on 11/12. He called me that day to say that he couldn't make it, and upon hearing the situation told me that it was a waste of his time to come out for a second opinion. He said he could "maybe" make it on Monday, 11/15 and would reach out later that day to confirm a time. He never called. I followed up on Saturday, 11/13 and again Monday, 11/15. I was told by customer support that he had rescheduled our appointment for that Monday between 11 and 11:30 without telling me but had no-call, no-showed. I asked for a rescheduled inspection and was scheduled for Tuesday, 11/16. He once again no-call, no-showed. I reached out Tuesday and again today (Wednesday) to try and get a new appointment as we're coming up on the end of our termite warranty from purchasing the home (which I've mentioned on every phone call.) The customer support representative was finally able to contact John, who told her he could "maybe" get out there next week and would contact me. I'm still waiting. read more

This is a follow up from my previous review. Terminix contacted me pretty quickly and set up a remediation of the issue. The new subcontractors (Alliance) were prompt and worked hard to fix the issue. I believe with Alliance as Terminix's new subcontractor for attic insulation removal and reinstalling, the work will get done right the first time. Possibly the Worst!! I have used Terminix for many years because I have a termite contract after being tented years ago. But that is with Anaheim All from now is with Laguna Hills office: I took out an exclusion policy ( keep all vermin out of house & garage) and had my attic sanitized and replaced insulation...a real problematic ordeal. Recently I had my exclusion person come out after I noticed the rubber rug into my kitchen from garage was chewed, Leslie said she would have someone come out and put new weather stripping on my garage but my garage seemed fine to them. 2 days later, whatever varmit this is....is still using my rug to nest, chewed on my water bottle and a brand new bag of unopened dog food. I tried contacting Terminex , no answer! Called Corporate and they said they left a msg for manager, I think his name is Gerald? and they would get back to me immediately. Nothing!! Don't be suckered, the exclusion alone was over $2K. Good morning, the rats they tell me I don't have ate through my cooler to get to a bag of dog food inside! read more

Horrible communication! On the phone booking new services for my new home I was told there was no prep work for this Srvs. But at the end of the call he tells me to wrap all my foods! Duh. That's prep work! Then, a few days later the Terminex rep comes to perform the service for us and asks if we have cats. He informs me that the cats need to be OUT of the house for at least two hours. (I don't own a pet carrier and had no idea about this)! Duh. That's prep work! So I have to reschedule the appt and instead go buy pet carrier and make plans to board cats for when they come. The morning of the rescheduled service call I am told by Terminex that my Srvs rep will call 30 minutes before the appt so that I have notice and can get cats boarded. But of course, the guy never calls and just shows up ready to work. So I scramble to get cats in the carrier which is not easy in a rush like that!! I get clawed like crazy! I finally call Terminex to complain and am put on hold for over 10 mins. I call back and it happens again! I finally speak with someone and am told a manager would have to call me back. It's been 3 days, no one has ever called me back. Yea, thanks Terminex. You can't even pull off a first service call for a new client. !? You guys really do suck. read more

The bug service tech was kind and helpful for the year we had service but we still got the same amount of ants as we did in the previous fifteen years not having a professioinal service. I also signed up for termite bait stations and had maybe seven to ten installed. . The termite inspector for that didn't do anything and I called to cancel as he only refilled and found three of the stations. The "retention desk" has hung up on me, been rude, and hasn't canceled my service. They have been by far the least helpful and rudest in the organization. I'm out of my contract period and disappointed. This appears to be going in the wrong direction. I think they just want to bill me going forward as its on recurring billing with my credit card without anything in return. read more

I was desperate to find a good company to spray for fleas and other insects in my Townhouse as it's situated in a semi rural area. The issues with fleas is that everyone including pets need to be out of the house for 4 hours and pets should have a flea treatment at the same time. I had issues coordinating my Vet time with the two hour window period given by Terminix but the manager at the Laguna Hills office, Daniel Peterson, was so very accommodating coming out himself to provide the service and did a very thorough inspection at the same time. I was given the care that a small owned company would give but with the advantages of a large company. Daniel Peterson was thorough, compassionate, and calling to follow up with the service provided. I would highly recommend this office based on their excellent service and follow up treatments. read more

I had my house recently fumigated. The process was easy. Terminix had a contractor to do repairs. They did a great job. The only complaint is they killed my koi. My Terminix representative assured me 3 times that it would not be a problem and he would speak to the fumigation team. Well, on the day of fumigation, it was a problem. The pond was too close to the house. We were already committed with hotel reservations, food bagged, etc. I went to Home Depot and got tubs to store the fish. (There was not enough time to find a koi hotel.). The fumigation team assured me the tubs were far enough away from the house. When we returned 3 days later 6 out of 8 koi perished. I don't fault people for mistakes or accidents. Stuff happens. I judge a business by their response to the mistake or accident. Terminix turned it over to its insurance. The insurance company asked for an appraisal. They reimbursed me for the full value of the koi , over $23,000. The process was easy. Terminix and the insurance company did not try to blame me or shift blame. Coverage for disasters is a reason for using big companies. I would use Terminix again. read more

I had a contract for 3 months with Terminix for $189 with unlimited visits. They came out about 3 or 4 times to spray and everything went great. Until someone scheduled an appointment without telling me to spray my porch which is about 3 feet long. I've never had an issue with my porch and never agreed to the visit. I was charged $139 for that visit and automatically payed because my card was on file. I am so upset because I have yet to speak to management. The call center is useless. And I should still have services until 7/20! I need a refund ASAP! I've been calling everyday since 6/26 and nobody can return my call! Update: 7/10/19 - Andrew Fleming a local Assistant Regional Manager contacted me with great customer service. He was able to help me start the process to receive my refund. He was a pleasure to speak to and he understood all of my concerns. I'll keep this review as short as their service. Simply put, any amount of money charged for a service should be met with professionalism, high work quality and superb customer service. None of there I found from Terminix. The professionalism of their service techs is, in my experience, poor. No communication to me about the service being done, sloppy appearance and a rushed job "completed" in 20-minutes, when said job is supposed to take between 30-40 minutes. He sprayed the perimeter of the house, dropped the bill and left. I spoke to their customer service tech via phone and explained the situation. It was agreed that the service tech should have done a more thorough job. I gave Terminix 6-months to prove to me that they deserve a service contract for my home. All I asked is that they were professional, kept me informed of what was done and what was found. Unfortunately all I received was bills for 20-minute jobs, no communication, nothing attempted to put Terminix "over the top" as a company or service. I got a 1 year contract with Terminix a couple years ago because it was cheaper doing it that way. For the first few months they came not only on time, but the start of the first hour in the quoted time period. I got a text a day before letting me know they were coming and when they arrived. After that things changed. The third guy that cave out was barely here and he went inside and outside the house half ass spraying or putting gel here and there. He sprayed an outline of poison around my dog who was sleeping against a wall before I found out it's poisonous to animals. Between that my bill was constantly being messed up and it took forever to get a hold of anyone to help. The very last service I told them to cancel my contract and never contact me again. I had a set day and time and I get a voicemail one day saying I'll see you tomorrow morning. That was not the scheduled time and completely inconvenient. I left a voicemail telling the guy not to show up because I wasn't going to be home. It took several more contact attempts, 2 no shows and countless BS excuses and I was like, "No, I'm done!" I will never use their services again. The commercials are extremely misleading!! (The 2 stars are for a couple guys who were actually good, showed up when they were supposed to, and seemed to know what they were doing.) read more

I've battled this company for almost year. I signed a contract with the Steve the sales Manager for Laguna Hills office for termite tenting, termite repairs, pest clearance, and quarterly termite treatment. I was concerned their sales people were not trustworthy and personally went to their office to speak to the person in charge. Steve ended up signing the deal directly with me and I thought I would be taken care of. Terminix sent 2 inspectors out to look at my house and they both cleared the roof as ready for tenting. However when the subcontractors (yes they outsource so it is not Terminix employees even though the sales person will swear otherwise), they refused to go on the roof saying it is too slippery. By that time, I had put my entire family and inlaws in a hotel and it cost me almost $1K. No other termite company (I sent out 10 quote requests) had issues with the roof. So I had to spend $500 to power wash the roof. Eventually the tenting was completed. Then the nightmare started. Terminix kept missing appointments to come by to repair the termite damage. I took time off work to sit there and wait for them to show up. Truck broke down, somebody got sick, equipment failure, and so forth. I took so much time off work, I ran out of sick days. It all ended with the local Terminix person telling me, "stop calling, I don't know why you keep calling me". I tried for 6 months to schedule for them to come out to perform service. It ended up almost costing me the sale of our home - I had to give $7,000 credit or the buyer would have walked because of Terminix. The sale Sales manager, Steve, said, in front of his employees and admin, "I will not honor the sales contract even though I signed it. There is nothing else I will do." I was shocked he said that in front of his employees - and they looked very surprised as well. By the way, they charged me for the entire Service treatment, repair, pest exclusion even though their contract explicitly said they will only charge me after services are completed. This issue has been escalated to the District Director, who is also in the process of blowing me off. They have not reached out to me despite my calls. So I am now working through credit card company to dispute the charges. I have never worked with any kind of service company, and you know they are mostly difficult to work with (Home Warranty, Contractors, etc) with such blatant disregard for customers and such questionable ethics. If you do business with Terminix, be ready for pain that makes me look forward to having my wisdom tooth pulled with no anesthesia. UPDATE 6/16: Terminix contacted me via Yelp asking for details on my account. I sent that to them the same day and still no calls, emails, texts, letters, or smoke signals. I guess the one thing Terminix does consistently well is blowing off and ignoring their customers. read more

Wish I could give them zero stars!!! Do not use this horrible company. They are shady people. We have had charges for services that were never performed. We have cancelled services and they still show up. They did a mosquito service that we never signed up for and charged us and won't refund the money. Today, they had the gas company turn off our gas to do a fumigation that we cancelled weeks ago! They are the WORST!!!! Customer service says they are sorry and are taking care of the issue but then we get a technician come to do service again and nothing is cancelled or taken care of. Their appt. time was 11-2 and the showed up around 3:20 so I assume they were in a rush. There had been a break down of communication between the sales team and the gentlemen who put the tent on so evidently I didn't" prepare the house properly "... that's it , blame the customer!!! He is timely, thorough and always communicates before the inspection to make sure the appointment time is ok, and after the inspection to provide an update on the work he did and whether or not there were any issues or concerns with the property. Our technician Larry was great. We were scheduled for a Friday evening appt. and when he became aware we had a 7day old infant; he strongly suggested we leave the property for at least 6-8hours. He rescheduled us to Monday, giving us time to find accommodations for the day and keep our baby girl safe. Where do I begin with the awful review of this company and its lack doing business in a timely manner or correct manner of doing business. First of all, my home was in escrow. I believe most people are aware when a home is in escrow the repairs needed are to be completed in a timely manner. This company did not complete the work in time and caused my escrow to be extended, which thus cost me additional $738 to have the escrow extended. Terminix would not work with the escrow company and accept payment from the escrow funds. They demanded I pay $22,750 up front. Then, they said they would advise me when they were going to take the money out of my account, which they did not. Next thing I know they took $22,750 out of my checking account. I had given them two credit cards to cover the charges so I could use the rewards credit for using my credit cards. Noooooo without prior notice they took the money from my checking account. How it did not bounce I don't know. The one lucky thing for me. On top of it, they could not find the original signed part of the contract for roof damage they caused so instead of paying $540 for roof repairs it cost me $575.00. Not much but additional money out of my pocket, an extension in escrow, and wrong account charged. I will NEVER use or refer Terminix to my family, friends, or worst enemy (not that I have any enemies other than Terminix.) read more

Complete SCAM! DO NOT call these guys or trust them! We were charged for services that we did not receive. We had a couple of services from them which we had paid for, and also paid for in advance. But when we had a mouse issue, we called and confirmed someone to come out and handle that specific problem. The guy that came to our home just looked around our house and said he didn't see a hole... we told him we know and the problem is inside the house and we need someone to look inside the house. He told us that he had to call someone else for that- which we then asked him why he came when we requested someone for that specific issue. He asked if we wanted him to spray around the house and we told him NO since we just had that service done. We then were unknowingly charged for him "spraying around the house" when he did NOT because we declined those services, and they sent our name to collections... We were FURIOUS! We've been paying these guys for all these services and thought we could trust them. We spoke to the manager Darrell, which is the most unprofessional representative I've ever encountered. I have no idea who put him in charge or why he works in customer service when he doesn't know anything about it and is extremely rude. Instead of listening to clients who had contracts with the company, and have paid for many services- he has the audacity to say that because it's what his guy "wrote down" he has to go by that. ARE YOU SERIOUS? I asked him to at least look into it, do SOMETHING. I asked him to confront his guy and look at the invoice from that day again. He said he would and would call me back and he never did.... We ended up having to pay for services we never received + more! Btw.. the mouse issue- they weren't even capable of getting the mouse- we went to Home Depot and had to get a bunch of mouse traps and do it ourselves. I just found out that Terminix has unfair business practices. I have been unsuccessfully trying to resolve a bill under my wife's name for almost two months. In a nutshell, we signed an agreement on September 27, 2014. The price is good for one year billed quarterly. Scheduling has been a problem after the first appointment. A LOT of no-shows. finally had enough and cancelled service on March 18, 2015 (last month of our second quarter). Received a bill for the third quarter. I spoke with a customer service rep who insists we owe the third quarter. Finally spoke with someone today who informed me why we owe the third quarter. It does no matter what day of the month you sign your agreement, Terminix bills you for the entire month. In my case, our agreement was signed on September 27 but "as per Terminix customer service" our billing cycle for service begins September 1, 2014. How is that possible. The customer service rep could not explain it but that it was just company policy. Sounds like Terminix is capitalizing on a unfair practice. I have tried and tried and tried to contact my local office but all telephone numbers lead back to call centers where a rep will repeat the same crazy policy. I am now forced to file a small claims against Terminix. I may or may not win but at least Terminix will be forced to admit in court about their billing practices. Who knows, if it can be proven they do this in every state, maybe an attorney with deep enough pockets finds merit in the case and file a class action suit. Or at the very least, catch the eye of the State Attorney's Office. read more

Take the advice of myself and the many others, DO NOT USE this branch for any type of specialized service. We have been with them for several years and the regular service was good. The monthly technician was friendly and knowledgeable. HOWEVER, about six months ago we discovered we had rodents in our attic. The Terminix saleskid Steven was very slick and promised they would take care of the issue by removing our attic insulation, spraying disinfectant and putting in specially-treated insulation. They also have special one-way "doors" so the critters are unable to return once the leave the attic. Sounds good right? GOOD LUCK GETTING THESE PEOPLE TO SHOW UP. You will make an appointment, take the day off work and they won't show up. You'll try and try to call the office and they won't answer. A few days later they randomly show up and question why you weren't there. You'll eventually get transferred to managers Kendall or Preston. They won't answer their phones either and their voicemail will be full. You'll play this game with them for several weeks and your patience will grow very thin. The actual technicians are nice and seem competent, once you get them to your house. The actual quality of the work seems pretty good once they are there. If you ask them about the office management, they just roll their eyes. BTW, it's literally impossible to directly call the office. All calls go a national call center and are then forwarded to the office, but they never answer the phones. You can complain to the call taker and they will transfer you to another division who handles complaints. They will promise you resolution and a call back, but it never happens. They seem generally concerned, but there's really not much they can do to get these lazy people off their butts.............. It got so bad that my wife and I took the day off work and drove across the county to their office. We basically sat there until someone paid attention to us and had a little face-to-face "discussion" about how bad their customer service is. Eventually, they completed most of the service, but not was promised regarding the "attic clean out and special insulation". It's the same fluffy stuff you can buy yourself. The best thing we did was charge the services to our American Express card. We filed and dispute and AMEX returned the entire amount. Now Terminix is threatening to send me to collections if we don't pay, lol. DON"T USE THESE PEOPLE! read more

Bamboozled by shady business practices! Quick run-down this scheme: 1) Signed up for service on 8/13/2012 with service commencing on 8/16/2012, on a 12 month agreement (12 months means it ends on 8/13/13 or 8/16/13, right? A r reasonable prudent person would assume so...) 2) In July 2013 I called local office to inquire as to when my current term/contract ended. Rep stated it ends on 8/13/2013 and I can decide to continue service or cancel at that time. 3) On 8/2/2013 rep from local office called and said a tech was to come out for follow up service on 8/6/2013. 4) On 8/6/2013 (still prior to my 12 month service) had exterior service performed, work order left on my door step. 5) On 8/18/2013 received an invoice for the 8/6/2013 follow up. - Why would you schedule a service pre-maturely prior to the initial "Agreement" 12 month anniversary date (other than to lock in an extra charge by trickery?). - Why wasn't I advised by the rep a Technician would be coming for service, there would be a charge, and the amount of the charge? - Why wasn't I given a new work authorization if it was a "new quarterly service" being performed? Called the number on the invoice & was fed scripted jargon by the billing department about "quarterly service" and "this is an agreement, not a contract". I explained the concept of time/date if they are doing things "quarterly" per the "agreement" which has a stipulation of 12 months time. Also tried to ask why they would mis-represent the "Agreement" of a 12 month quarterly service by scheduling a new service (without explanation of me being charged, what the cost is or agreement). My questions and concerns were met with resistance to their fault and stubbornness. Are we back into tricking consumers into new service/agreements without proper notice?
