Waste of $$$. We went with Terminix because of the guarantees and speed when we bought this house that had to have rodents removed from the attic (DISGUSTING). My old service was really backed up at the time and we couldn't wait. BUT that is only until they sell you the service contract. Once you are in your service contract everything is through a central line with horrible customer service. It is a large call center. It is extremely difficult to schedule with their different units. The techs change frequently and have been rude. While my current tech is friendlier, the product they use just doesn't work to keep the ants and spiders away. I just tried to call to have him come back out and the horrible call center is just too much. After waiting for 15 minutes I decided there are better options at this price so I cancelled when they got on the line. And now they want to call me back to confirm I am cancelling? What is there to confirm? I am done. Please, just stop billing me your crazy charges for your useless services unless you'd like to offer me a refund. read more

Terminex has the WORST customer service ever. We have not been happy with Terminex since Homefront Pest Control was acquired by them, thus transferring our contract to Teminex. With Homefront, we had a single point of contact...one particular technician that worked with us. He was professional, courteous and reliable. With Teminex we have had multiple people and can't seem to talk to anyone in charge. With Homefront, our pest problems were controlled, not so with Teminex. We had them come out 3 different times for an ant problem. We still have ants and they want to charge us for the quarterly service. Terminex boasts "100% guarantee" on their website. I have written multiple emails and letters and called several times to get this charge reversed. The only response I've received is a voice message saying "the manager has denied your request". No explanation and no phone number or name for a followup. When I try to call the local branch (Lake Forest, CA), the call gets rerouted to their phone service in Florida. When I ask to speak to a manager, there is not one available to take my call. When I ask to have a manager return my call, I'm told (twice now), that someone will get back to me within 48 hours. No one has gotten back to me. Needless to say, we've cancelled our quarterly contract. I've been dealing with this for over 3 months now and am at a loss as to what to do next. This company used to provide responsive servce but this last time they didn't and still don't. On September 30th this year a Terminix inspector came out and found evidence of drywood termite activity. Told me to call in and get a service appointment. I was on the quarterly plan and supposedly my quarterly service was done - well I had more ants and spiders then ever before. I called the 800 number and I was given a appointment for a couple days later. The tech came and knocked on my door by the time I came down stairs the rep was literally running to his truck I had to yell to get him to come back. He came back told me he would spray the outside while I got ready to leave the house as I couldn't be inside for 4 hours. 10 mins later I was all set to leave and the tech was no where to be found. He didn't even spray outside the perimeter of my home. The scumbag just bolted. I called the 800 number and told the reps. They told me that the tech wasn't answering his phone. Next thing I know I get an email saying they completed the service call. These guys need to be shut down. Do not spend a single penny on these dirty clowns. read more

i went with them because they were a national company. i was asked if it would be ok if they used a contractor that was trained by them to complete my job. i knew going in i could expect a few broken tiles on my roof but i was not expecting 64 tiles that needed to be replaced. in addition to the tiles they destroyed my plants on the side of the house and they trimmed my trees and just threw the them on my flowers along with their trash from lunch.they offered me a $160.00 discount for the damage that ended up costing me over $1,000. its been over 6 months and after 4 phone calls i still haven't seen the $160.00!!!!!!!. i will use a local company next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Their accounting system is completely messed. They send the bills to collection in no time, without notifying the customer. Then, they don't even provide the customer with the correct collection agency contact information to be able to correct the credit score mess up situation. I initially left an awesome review for Terminex. Although that was before they screwed us. While all of their customer service reps have been nice, there seem to be some policy confusions that eliminate transparency about the 30 day guarantee. When a tech came by in late September to spray our home for ants, he refused to spray the inside when he saw I was pregnant (after showing up 45 minutes late and claiming I had cancelled the appointment). I had to call and reschedule for a week later, and that turned out fine. Anyway, when I called back for one more clean-up treatment in our bathrooms, it was about thirty-three days after the initial half-job, but only twenty-five after the job was completed. When I called, the customer service rep on the phone was extremely understanding, and she said they would measure the 30 day guarantee from the time the job was completed. This made sense to me. However, when Terminex did not show up during our scheduled appointment, I learned it was because we had gone outside the 30 day guarantee--even though, during the initial visit, the tech only did half his job. So when I called back AGAIN, the new customer service rep told me that whoever I had talked to earlier was mistaken, but then she told me she would reach out to our local branch and have them contact me about the mistake. WELP, they never called! My husband tried to reach them twice, and then never called him back either. We still have not heard from Terminex about why our 30 day guarantee was measured from the day the job was only half-completed, due to the incompetence of a tech. Anyway, I'm over it. Our ants are almost totally gone, and things are better than they were before, but I'm hugely disappointed in the unprofessional attitude that seems to linger in these local branches--techs who show up late, refuse to finish treatments, even when they're perfectly safe, or who don't show up at all. Plus, no phone call. Terminex is fast and their customer service reps are friendly, but like any big company, you'll encounter communication and service blunders and great deals of incompetence and laziness when it comes to getting the job done. It may cost more and take longer, but if this happens again, we're going small business. read more

Desperate to kill the ants I called Terminix. Never killed them 100% but they were under control. Thats what mattered. They were okay at one point with their customer service... I called them to address an issue with ants indoor but my quarterly wasn't for 3 weeks, no worries, they set me up with an appointment few days later between 8-10. They didn't show up. So I went on with my day... I get an email later saying services were complete with a bill. When did you show up? Not between given time of 8-10. No phone call changing the time. Services weren't done. My ants were INSIDE, service was to be INSIDE. I do not think I should be billed if the service was not done. You can't contact the actual Laguna Hills location.... its automatically goes to 800- Terminix. Good luck with them. They said a Service Manager from Laguna, "Reba" will call me about the bill I was attempting to dispute. Never heard from her nor got anything by mail regarding my dispute. Received another bill, 800- Terminix or Service Manager, Reba, never acknowledged my request. STILL cannot get a hold of anyone at Laguna. I have cancelled since then. 100% guarantee or your money back? So not true! BBB here we come. read more

This review is for Terminix service in general. I scheduled inspection through their 1-800 number. Then no one showed during the two hour window. So I rescheduled and then again they didn't show up! Twice in a row. The service guy calls me after the inspection time frame and gives me an excuse that the Terminix company had triple booked him. That is your company's problem! He wasn't even polite on the phone. Very upset and frustrated with this company. I had to waste two days, one of them on weekend, waiting for inspections that never came! Terminix purchased our contract from Homefront Pest Control. I can tell you that if Terminix were owned and operated by Jon-Michael Brown, my technician, this would have a five-star rating. He is wonderful. The other day he was running late, and called to let me know right when he would be here. Unable to pick up my phone or his message, he came back at a later date to finish the job. He made notes to make sure I had the organic service the time I wasn't here, and did a thorough and conscientious job inside and out when he returned. His customer service more than makes up for the fact that you can't schedule appointments months in advance (my schedule is a difficult one), the spotty customer service on the phone, or the fact that the manager that was supposed to call me never did. If it wasn't for Mr. Brown, I'd be using a different pest control company. If you all are smart, I'd give Jon-Michael a raise, because his service is the only thing keeping me happy. I love his detail-oriented service; he treats my home as if it were his own. I plan on being with your company as long as he continues with Terminix as well. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. These guys are awful. They make excuses not to show up and flake on appointments. They're rude and really don't care to take care of what you want. I asked one to guy to spray a spider so that I could see that the product worked. He didn't do it. I think they're shady and wouldn't be surprised if they're spraying water around and not pesticide. Go elsewhere for your business. These guys don't deserve it. I would go with a smaller competitor that has the same service but cheaper and will actually show up as scheduled or at least give you a courtesy call that they aren't coming. Absolutely terrible customer service and we have been customers for almost 40 years. They have implemented a national call center and it is not working. They guarantee a call back in 24 hours but it has now been 7 days. The representative answering the phone wanted all of the technical information so she could determine whether or not a call back or inspection was actually required. I'm not sure what her specific qualifications are. It may be time for a big change back to the local office because the national call centers are NOT working. read more

He came and sprayed as soon as I called him. Then today I still had a few ants so he came (putting me at the top of today's calls) inside and sprayed. Yes we did have some issues with the company in general when we first started but since then we have had nothing but great service. Horrible company!!!!! They say their products are not harmful...they made my dog very sick. All this company cares about is collecting the $93 a quarter for spending 5 minutes at your house to spray some toxic product in your yard. Awful, damaging service for termite treatment. They completely destroyed my tiled roof, and I had to replace over 250 tiles! They removed packed food from refrigerator, put them in double bag, and left them in the sun outside damaging over $300 worth of produce, food, dairy, eggs, etc. They broke 15 sprinkler heads and left trash around the house perimeter. Absolutely awful service. Complaints to district and etc. have gone no where. read more

I had terminex come out to set traps in my attic March 2017. I had them come out a handful of times and not once did any of the traps they set catch anything. Since they hadn't caught anything I decided to cancel the service. I called and spoke to Tanya May 2017 and then two other people telling them I wanted to end service (one of them even said they were the manager). They said ok. That night a tech called and said he was coming out the next day to spray. His voice mail was not set up so I called back that morning and told them not to spray because I cancelled my service, they said ok they would let the technician know. When I got home that day the technician put a letter in my mail box saying he sprayed the front yard only because my dogs were in the backyard. Today I got an invoice in the mail even though I had canceled my service previously. Every time you have to call in and speak to them it takes at least 30 min to get through to someone. I would not recommend Terminex to anyone, your better off living with the pest or calling a better extermination company... read more

Terminix customer service is terrible! I never signed up with them but they purchased our contract from Antimite. We were with Antimite for over 10 years with no issues. In the first year with Terminix the performance was very poor. We have more bugs and spiders than we had seen previously. I was paying the account online and that is where I managed the bills. 6 months went by and I didn't see our service attendant and then a collection bill shows up for $73.00!!!!! They sent the $73.00 bill to collections and I never even knew we had an outstanding balance. Right away I called Terminix. I've now call 4 - 5 times and each time I've been told they are escalating the issue to the Branch Manager Geralldo Houseman I think?? They wont give you a direct number to the local branch you always get the call center. Anyways, still after all the calls and attempts to figure the issue out asap I still haven't heard anything back from anyone at Terminix. What a Joke!! I would suggest any other pest control company besides Terminix. They are horrible! read more

Do not recommend service from this office. Terminix as a large company should take notice of the low ratings this office has received on Yelp! I have been a pest control and termite customer for many years, though have tolerated their poor customer service until now. I recently experienced the straw that broke the camel's back. On two separate occasions, I have scheduled termite inspections with no one showing up. The first time they explained was a miscommunication internally. The most recent time was just a straight out no show. After the 9-11am timeframe passed by the for technician to show up, I called customer service who said they could not locate the technician or anyone in the branch office. The rep I spoke to submitted my complaint and said a branch manager would call me. Four days later and still no call, I followed up with customer service. They told me my complaint was entered when I originally called though no one had addressed. I asked to be serviced out of another branch location and was told that is not possible. When I indicated I would cancel both pest control and termite services if had to continue working with a branch that did not care about me as a customer, I was told that is my decision (to cancel). To my surprise, their Retention Dept did not try to resolve my concerns or save me as a customer, just offered a partial refund of my annual termite plan. WOW!!! read more

I've used Terminix for years for ant/spider control and have always had great service. Unfortunately a few weeks ago started hearing "critters" in the attic. Yep. Rats:( Called Terminix and Jon T. came out and was awesome! He got me set up for same-day service for the exclusion service. A week later, Jon Michael, Jeremy, Jose & Justin (The "J" Team) came out and removed all of the old insulation, decontaminated and installed my new "critter/bug/termite" proof insulation. They were so unbelievably professional and considerate. Friendliest crew ever! They wore booties, taped up and covered all flooring including cardboard on the wall corners. They worked non-stop and were finished on time. Thank you so much for taking care of such an awful and inconvenient pest problem. Thanks guys! Would definitely recommend their services! read more

Do not recommend Terminix-Laguna Hills. We had our house fumigated and very disappointed. Tiles and ridge row tiles on our roof were broken. Tent literally fell off our house DURING fumigation received calls from our neighbors. Terminix just came out and dropped the tent to the ground for a day. We don't even know if it was fumigated. Our Dish on outside of house was actually moved. It was very securely bolted down. Had to have Direct TV come out to fix bracket and dish. At our cost. Terminix does not care about their customers just want their money and Terminix deposits it quickly. This review from a very disappointed customer. Shame in you. Worst termite company I have ever worked with. I'm helping my mom who has had a contract for termite control for over 20 years. IMO they have been ripping her off all this time. Their yearly inspection consists of a brief stroll around the house with a flashlight. They don't check crawl spaces. When I discovered termites myself, they came out and said they must have come from somewhere else. I had my own company I have worked with in real estate for 30 years come out and they said we had had drywood and subterranean termites. I called Terminix back at which time they did a thorough inspection and they said well, yes, we do have termites. I asked to see a copy of mom's contract to see what was covered and was told one would be mailed to me. Long story short, it took over a month, at least five phone calls and 2 emails before I finally received a copy. Lots of lip service (oh of course we'll get it to you shortly, etc) but it's all lip and no service. In addition, inspectors sometimes just don't show up with no explanation. The technician who came today to treat the subterraneans (covered by the contract) asked me where the termites were because he wasn't sure based on the paperwork he received from the inspector. Three of the employees who came to the house in the past 6 months told me that they get complaints from customers on a daily basis and that the corporate system is admittedly not working efficiently. The one who came today said he works there because they pay well. No wonder - they are very overpriced. I've let mom make her own decisions, but after this I've convinced her to dump Terminix. Never showed up for our quarterly service. When we call to say we have a huge ant problem they make an appointment and never show up, call again made another appointment and they no showed again. They no call, no showed 4 times! People on the 800 line are very nice and apologetic. The Orange County office is just absolutely horrible!!! Pulled our accounts and went to The Lloyd Pest Control instead. They came out and fixed the issue with one visit! read more

I would do a negative 10 rating if I could. I have been trying to schedule my annual termite inspection, which I pay for, per my contract with Terminix after they tented the home. However, I have been trying since Sept 09 and it is now Oct 7 and still can't get anyone to come out. They make appts and then are no shows. Every time I call they transfer to different department, make a new appointment and it goes on. Today I was transferred to an executive service dept. and they put me on hold (still on hold while writing this review for over TWO hours). Called on separate phone and guess what - back on hold with both phones. I don't understand why it is so difficult to set an appointment and actually have someone show up. I will pursue getting my money back at this point. This is just a big warning, stay away from Terminix. They are quick to take your money and then they ignore you. read more

I have never written reviews before, but want to warn anyone looking for a termite company. DO NOT hire Terminix. Terminix is incompetent and untrustworthy. I hired Terminix to get rid of both dry wood termites and subterranean termites. They did not get rid of any termites. The tenting was not effective and they did not complete the sub job. The employee drilled 15 of the 182 holes around my perimeter and then said it was too hot out and he would come back the next day. He also asked for an extra $120 when he first arrived to "do a good job". He said Terminix tells them to do the very minimum which "will not get rid of the termites". He also said that the tenting wasn't effective because I still had ant trails and daddy long legs in the patio area. I told him I had called and told Terminix that same thing the day the tent was removed. Terminix "experts" told me that "spiders can hold their breath for 2 days" and "they were probably new ants using the old trails". Another "expert" told me they only sprayed for termites, so the ants and spiders would have needed a different chemical even though they previously "guaranteed the tenting would kill everything". Don't believe this nonsense! Spiders don't have lungs, so they are not capable of holding their breath. And how would they know to hold their breath, even if they could? Also, if they were new ants, where were the old (dead) ones? Well, after telling me he would return to finish the job the next day, the employee never returned. I called Terminix for months trying to get the work completed. I heard every excuse imaginable: "it was a separate company that did the work and several employees were fired" (including the one that started my job) so "there was no one else to send" , or "there were no managers available to handle it", etc. When I asked for a contact number for the supposedly "other company", they could not release that information. At one point they said they would send an investigator out which would have been great, but then there weren't any dates available. I made at least 5 follow-up calls to schedule an appointment with an investigator, but there were NONE ever available. After months of me calling them trying to resolve the situation, I was told that they wanted me to pay the balance owed without yet completing the job. I refused to pay before the work was completed, so they sent it to a collections agency and put it on my credit report. I ended up having to take them to court to get my initial payment back. The court ordered them to refund my initial payment and I still haven't been credited it on my charge card. Also, Ryan, the so-called manager, lied in court and said they would have been happy to refund my money if I had asked (I asked MANY times for my refund and they refused). He also said that I was never available for them to finish the job which is far from the truth. I am an honest person and tried to deal with them, but after I saw they weren't going to give me the service they promised, I had to hire another company to do both services correctly and completely. Bottom line, do not hire Terminix. I am surprised they are still in business. read more

TERMINIX....PLEASE BE AWARE....OUTRIGHT FRAUD!!! Unfortunately, 1 star was too much, but no option Please read this first before you decide to contact this company! We originally called Terminix at the Laguna Hills, California location because we thought we had a rat problem in our attic. After the Terminix technician came by and investigated our attic, he shared with us that there was rat urine and feces all over our attic and said he actually found a dead rat stuck to our insulation. He offered to remove the rat and threw it away in our trash can after triple bagging it in trash bags. My husband asked to look at the rat and the technician responded by saying "oh no you don't want to see this....it's really bad". He then continued to try and sell us two different packages totaling almost $4,000 to rid us of rats for a year and replace all of our insulation in the attic that was supposedly damaged due to rats. We opted to go with the lesser package. After the technician promised us to fully clean and sanitize the attic, he would not include that information in our contract so we began to get suspicious and called another company for a second opinion. The technician from the other company we called could not find any evidence of us ever having a rat problem in our attic and didn't suggest any services for us other than trimming our trees around our house that we can do ourselves. So after hearing that, my husband got suspicious and went out to our trash can and starting unbundling the trash bag where the Terminix technician said he placed the dead rat and the insulation it was stuck to. To our surprise, all we found was perfectly good attic insulation with no dead rat stuck to anything. Needless to say, we cancelled our contract with Terminix. If this isn't fraud...then I don't know what is. read more
