After waiting 4 days for appointment, Skip the inspector, calls and cancels appointment because he has something more important do to. David was the licensed pest specialist that came to investiate the sounds eminating from our attic. He was polite, professional, and very friendly. We had termite terry come by and do an inspection and he was very honest and knowledgeable (as was his coworker Brayden). He found some termites in our attic (I was shown the evidence of the termite droppings) so we scheduled a treatment. On the day of the treatment Brayden came by and I left. He called me a few hours later and I came home and everything looked great. I will have them follow up in a year and make sure there are no more signs of termites but I felt they did a phenomenal job and were very proficient, punctual, and friendly. I was referred to Termite Terry by a friend and gave them a call for a quote. Skip Haffke called me right back and made an appointment for the next morning to come out and do an estimate. I needed to replace many damaged wooden beams over my deck as well as the major wooden support beam.they rest on. I thought it would be a major job and take about a week to do. I was really pleased with the quote and shocked when he said it would only take two days. We scheduled the work and the work crew showed up right at eight am as they were scheduled and did the job in only a day and a half. Cleaned up after each day and did a great job. These demon possessed fleas are dead. OK, here's the dealio... For the first time ever, our front yard had been taken over by fleas. Not just any fleas mind you, demon possessed fleas. One day, completely out of the blue, I walked out to my car and found my legs were covered in fleas. The front door is no more than 15 feet to my car, but there I was, with 15 fleas on my legs. Typically, I'm the guy the bugs leave alone. I guess it's my manlyness, but they pretty much leave me alone. Not these demonic creatures. If I ran from my front door to the trash can to drop off trash, I might only get 8 fleas on my legs. What were they doing? Waiting by the door for a human to leave? My 18month old and my 4 year old... fogetabout it... They didn't stand a chance... The weirdest part is that I do have dogs, but they didn't have any fleas. In fact, everywhere my dogs go was flea-less. I bought the stuff from the store to spray everything down... I'm pretty sure they took that as a declaration of war. My flea problem increased (I was about to call the Governor - I know a guy who knows a guy- to get the National Guard over here), but then I remember Termite Terry. After talking to Terry, we came to the conclusion that my recent raccoon guest, that we had just had evicted (that's another story for another vendor) must have gotten mad, came back, done a voodoo spell and cast off his demonic flea warriors in front of my house. Anyway, long story short, Terry had his guy come out. He did whatever needed to be done and within a week (the lifecycle of fleas can be weeks or even months), these demon fleas were sent back to hell where they belong. Love these guys. read more

Others weren't bad, Skip just seemed to be that much better. Had some wood repair work done by a two man crew from Termite Terry led by Saul, I think that was his name. I'm a bit surprised by the poor reviews, as I had a great experience with Termite Terry. I work at a major Orange County theme park, and in taking some cheap hotel property home from the company sale, I unknowingly also took home bed bugs. I had been getting bites for about a week and a half, not knowing where they were coming from, when I caught an actual bug in the middle of the night and began calling exterminators. I got inspections/quotes from one large chain and from Termite Terry. I was disappointed that they were not able to send someone out to inspect/quote the same day and that there was a charge for the inspection. However, the national chain brand (the day before) had not sent an actual exterminator to inspect. Even though their price was good, I was hesitant to use them because I wouldn't meet the exterminator until the day of treatment and I wouldn't be able vet him by making sure he was knowledgeable and thorough to get rid of the most difficult pests. Simply spraying bedbugs isn't enough, as they are highly resistant and good at hiding for up to a year, so I needed to find a pest guy who knew this and was going to fully inspect and treat not only the room but my furniture and my stuff. The inspection and quote from Termite Terry came with a fee, but it was worth it. DJ, my exterminator, and his trainee, Brad, were at my house for over an hour, maybe and hour and a half. As first they seemed like surf bros (they said dude a lot), but after talking with them for just a minute it was clear they knew their stuff. They took the bugs I had caught for further monitoring, and fully inspected my room and the 2nd bedroom belonging to my sister, as well as the living room. They explained that the initial treatment would take maybe 5 hours, because they were going to come over and help me inspect ALL of my stuff (I'm a girl, I have a lot of stuff). They also said that for bedbugs, since they have such staying power, they would come back and re-inspect and re-treat once a month until I had 2 full months with no bites. We went with Termite Terry and DJ over the big national brand. The price was twice as much, but they impressed my parents and my dad is a biologist who consults for rodent pest control. He knows that with pest control, you get what you pay for. And what it was clear we would get was 1) to meet our exterminator right away 2) have his cell phone number for further questions 3) hours of his time, no matter how long it took 4) leaving no corner left un-inspected 5) a variety of treatments to meet the needs of my home and stuff. It actually took about 6 or 7 hours to empty out my room that first day. I threw out a lot of stuff, but stuff that I couldn't throw out got fumigated in large sealed bags, with fumigation strips. I had 6 bags out on my balcony for a week and a half; nothing could've survived that! DJ wanted to protect my investments in items such as suitcases, lamps, computers, and shoes. Even though he can't take them apart to inspect for bugs, he didn't want to say "throw them out" if he could find a way to treat them. Flat items such as paper, posters, and art got inspected and moved out. All the furniture got dismantled, inspected, scraped for eggs, vacuumed, and sprayed with the best pesticide (of course he told me what he was using so I could vet it with online research!). The mattress and box spring (plus my sister's mattress, just in case) each got bug proof cloth covers to keep what could've been in there already IN, and new guys out. Good for allergies too. The only thing I had to take care of myself was all soft stuff. But DJ made sure I did it. Washables, clothes, stuffed animals, linens, soft shoes, anything soft went into the industrial dryer on high for 45 mins, and then into 10 white garbage bags (white so you can easily see bugs). Since I'm a girl and had so much stuff, even with Brad there training with DJ it took 6 or 7 hours for us to complete my tiny room. They treated the baseboards in most of the house as a favor and a precaution, and completely treated my room, including dusting the electrical sockets and spraying inside the bed and dressers. We didn't get charged extra for extra time; there was a flat rate for the first treatment and they were willing to stay to get it done past their estimate of how long it would take. Afterwards, DJ shot the breeze with my dad about Pest conventions and rodent control. Three months, later, I haven't had a single bite. I caught the infestation early, and we only found 4 live bugs total. But we found eggs, and one of those bugs and lots of eggs were inside a CLOTHES HANGER. That's how I brought them home. A lesser exterminator wouldn't have found that, wouldn't have thrown out my hangers. I had completely forgotten where they had come from (a hotel) and hadn't mentioned it. DJ was so thorough that we took care of the toughest bugs in one go. He came back and sprayed twice, like he said, just in case. read more

The evidence was undeniable as to who did it, and it wasn't who I was initially suspicious of (nope, it wasn't any of the contractors). Sure they might have showed up to cover their butts. But despite being cleared of any blame from the crime, and my waiver clearing them of any responsibility, they went above and beyond and offered ALL my money back out of their compassion. It is a truly amazing company. I never even asked. They just offered. Such good people are hard to come by. He confirmed that the buggers on our windowsill are actually ants and that the attic was clear, save for a few droppings probably from the one rat that we had found awhile ago.
