Love the homemade pasta here! We have eaten here on a number of occasions and it has never disappointed us!

I hadn't been in a few years, so I thought I'd give it another shot. The food is bizarrely mediocre. I was hoping for better. The service was fine and the ambiance was great, other than the very fishy smells comes from our neighboring table's entrees. The bread appetizer came floating in a pool of oil. It seemed a very odd way to serve it. Then we had three different dishes at the table, a risotto and two pastas, and all three were just bleh. We all ate a ridiculously small amount because it just wasn't worth wasting the calories, which is really disappointing, especially considering the prices. In the end, we were surprised that the server didn't question our lack of desire to box up our practically full meals. read more

I went to Tara for the first time in a long time last night with my husband. I know everyone loves to go for the kale Caesar salad. I wanted to try different foods this time. We each got a cocktail from their craft cocktail list and they were rather good. I cannot remember the exact names. We got the brussels sprouts for an appetizer. They were decent. I ended up getting the spaghetti Bolognese and my husband got the beef stroganoff. I loved mine. I never really love pasta dishes, but this was amazing. There was just enough heat in it but it was not overwhelming. I literally ate every single bite which is not like me. My husband did not like the beef stroganoff. He says he does not recommend. I did include some pictures of our cocktails and meals. Will I be back? Probably. But it's certainly not in the top of my list for Grand Rapids restaurants. They do take reservations which is very nice. read more

I was eager to try this restaurant after all the positive reviews and I was not disappointed. I tried the banh mi and the Cuban sandwiches. Both were excellent, perfectly prepared meat, crispy vegetables, chewy bread, and delicious sauces. I also had the side pesto salad and was pleased with this as well. The service and decor are also points in Terra's favor. My only quibble is about the sides served with the sandwiches. The side salad is a $3 up charge, otherwise it's Great Lakes potato chips. For a restaurant that promotes farm-to-table....Potato chips? I have never been to a potato chip farm, but I am eager to find one. read more

We love a hot breakfast almost more than we love a hot server. Graham, our server, was ready with the most delicious mimosas and savory dishes for brunch. 11/10 recommend the hair of the dog bowl! 100/10 recommend Graham. Be prepared for stellar service that doubles as drool-worthy eye candy! On a serious note, the atmosphere, service, and food was amazing! First time to this restaurant as we are visiting Grand Rapids for the ballet school. We sat at the bar because we didn't have reservations and had an amazing bartender/waiter Graham! This was my first time at the restaurant and hopefully not my last. We were welcomed by a very friendly waiter. This restaurant is very beautiful on the inside with a lot of exposed wood, succulents and cool lights. The menu is rather small but it was clear that they use fresh seasonal products. I had the the mushroom risotto and the sausage pizza which my date and I had split both. The portions of the risotto were huge! The mushroom risotto was the first vegan meal that I have ever eaten and it was delicious, there was so much flavor I was a little bit surprised. read more

I can't believe this place has 4.5 star rating. Went there a few weeks ago. Started work the avocado toast. If I was serving avocado toast at home, I would start with good bread. And I would use sliced ripe avocados. This was something like that wonder bread with the pre-made guac that you buy at the grocery store spread on it. Not good. The salad was something I would have been embarrassed to serve at home. Nothing tasty, interesting or appealing about it. For an entree we ordered the mushroom risotto. It was crunchy. Who serves crunchy risotto? I couldn't even eat it. This was a disappointing experience. EDIT I have been contacted by management - and they have graciously addressed my issues with the Avocado Toast and have upgraded the risotto. read more

We had such a wonderful time at Terra. We were there for our anniversary and had our son with us. We got a table right by the open kitchen so he was entertained and the brick oven (we met while working at a brick oven pizzeria). Though our diet has changed over the years, we were able to get a gluten-free brick oven pizza with wild mushrooms and housemade vegan ricotta cheese. Not to mention the hummus our son loved, the seasonal, local salad, and the flight of ciders that made our meal delightful. Paige was amazing, personable and warm and not only did she buy us a gf vegan chocolate dessert (which was incredible), but had a card signed by the staff wishing us a Happy Anniversary. When my friends and I came in around 11:30, we were surprised we were seated immediately - the decor was adorable, the place was open and lit, and it seriously felt like I was back in downtown Chicago. I chose to go with the breakfast burrito - previous reviews for this were mixed, and I have to say, I would probably skip on it if I came back. It was a large portion size (not huge, but large), but overall was just kinda bland; nothing was well seasoned. However, the ancho-chile sauce on top was TO DIE for! It packed a load of flavor and truly is what brought my food to life. Maybe that's why nothing else is seasoned really? I don't know how she did it, but our waitress (who was attentive and wonderful) convinced us to order dessert - both the lemon curd and turtle pie were delicious and a perfect end to an already great brunch. The prices are decent, the decor is adorable, and this place has me seriously excited to come back and try everything else it has to offer. read more

Immense fan of Terra! I have dined here multiple times and have always been pleased with both the customer service, as well as the integrity of the food. The menu offerings cover all the bases. They offer a wide variety of options (shared plates, soup/salad, entrees, burger/sandwiches, pizzas, desserts, brunch), speciality cocktails, craft beers & ciders, wine, and can accommodate most diets (vegan, gf, vegetarian, etc). Prices are completely fair, relevant to the quality of the meals. They offer happy hour discounts from 4-6pm, which includes most beverages, pizzas, and HALF OFF SALADS. And trust me, the salads are incredible! Most recently I enjoyed the Gazelle Salad, which features lentils, farro, and walnuts, tossed in a savory cumin vinaigrette. The portion was H-U-G-E and the price was $6. For real! The white bean hummus is fantastic, and I recommend you don't leave without trying the lemon curd or turtle pie. read more

The hostess staff was incredibly friendly and tried to be helpful. The food was quite good. It was extremely busy on Sunday afternoon and unfortunately we had a large group. Because we had no idea how many would be showing up, we couldn't get reservations but I would recommend getting a reservation for Sunday brunch if you have more than 2 people. People came and went while we were waiting. We ended up splitting up with a table for two and then bar seats. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful but we still had to wait a really long time for our food after ordering. All in all a lot of waiting... The food was pretty good. We got the cinnamon roll, the mushroom pizza and a bowl called something about dog hair. We enjoyed the bowl best. It's quite pricey so be ready for that. Maybe try it on a weeknight/day if you want to get in quickly. read more

Located on a corner with superb outdoor seating. The inside is nice and comfy with a open kitchen so you can watch the chefs cook. The environment is quite and a great place to have a cocktail with friends to chat. The decor is very modern and you can tell they take care of the place. I came during happy hour so the menu was limited but they still offered pizza. I went with the fennel sausage oven roasted pizza which was absolutely to die for and drank a strawberry swing which was very tasty. Not much of a presentation once the drink arrived but the taste made up for it. I personally would of put a lemon twist in it for a hint of lemon and appearance. They have a nice selection of beers to choose from if you want beer. After my first cocktail and gold I ordered the beet margarita which was absolutely delicious. I hate tequila, but it looked too good not to try and it exceeded my expectations because I didn't hate it since it had tequila in it. There is free WiFi and they validate parking so don't forget to bring your ticket if you parked in their lot. Overall, it was a great experience and I really want to return for the Mac n cheese, which looks amazing. read more

Also that this was an autumn/fall inspired menu. The menu had a lot to choose from. We ended up ordering the Risotto. The risotto has autumn flavors featuring these ingredients as stated on Terra GR website: squash, parsnip, sweet potato, celery root, turnip, apple butter, cranberries. and A Cuban sandwich, truth be told I have never had one before... I was on the mood and it was quite delightful. We thought about adding a meay to tge Risotto, the pork belly was suggested. We decided not to the Risotto but at the end decided not on this visit . I ordered a housemade ginger beer to wash down this creative food. I would suggest yiu review the drink menu. There was such an interesting drink... like Pumpkin Shurb. Next time... If you appreciate farm to table service this may be your best option in Grand Rapids. Everything on the menu seems carefully created to surprise the taste buds and leave you wanting more. My friend and I both went for different craft beers from the rotating list, neither was something I'd seen anywhere else in town which is great. We then split two apps and the Cuban which was seasoned and marinated perfectly. A perfect quick lunch stop for our needs. Today on Nos and Savage's Food Ravage, all of our cousins came in from around U.S. to join us for a special edition of the review. We went to Terra GR, a spaciously artistic style restaurant with great food and amazing service. I would highly recommend if you have more than 4 guests, making a reservation ahead of time. They will call you the day prior to confirm. Presentation was a plus, with minimalist style choices, making the food be the main attraction. The kitchen is open and complements a wood fired oven for pizza and other such food items. We were there during brunch, so I got the quinoa wrap with a side of biscuits and gravy. Savage decided to go for a ham and cheddar omelette. Both had amazing presentation and flavor. The quinoa wrap was incredibly tasty with the apples and maple-dijon complementing the savory potatoes into a sweet delight for anyone to try. Savage thought that the omelette he had was possibly one of the best he ever tried. The biscuits and gravy were the personal highlight of the meal. Natural sausage with the gravy made from the same drippings with not a pinch of salt extra needed. The biscuits were not premade, but house made drop style biscuits. The crunchiness of the biscuit mixed with the amazing sausage gravy was simply divine. We had two servers, Lede and Christina, since we had such a large group and they were absolutely lovely to talk with and converse with about the food and other items of interest. The management was even nice enough to customize our menus so we could remember this moment for later years. Amazing experience and would highly recommend for all ages and occasions. Awesome place for brunch! Nice, farm to table restaurant with amazing avocado toast. They are known for their breakfast pizza which looked amazing but was too much food for us. The funfetti pancakes were also really good and a nice dish split among the three of us. Can't wait to go back the next time I'm in Grand Rapids! read more

$16 for a breakfast pizza? What is this nonsense? But I ordered it anyway because my curiosity got the best of my financial logic. And boy, I was so happy it did! It wasn't a personal sized pizza... it was enough to feed two or three! In fact, Terra's breakfast pizza raised a new standard to what breakfast pizzas should taste like. Forget the microwaveable breakfast pizzas from Sam's Club. Bring on the sunny side up egg, bacon, kale and hollandaise sauce! Buttery brunch goodness with every savory bite! The overall concept was new to my taste buds and it was pleasantly DELICIOUS. The crust was baked to a perfect crisp with the help of a stone brick oven and the toppings were amazing together. Except the potatoes. Personally, the potatoes was a misplaced texture. It was too soft. I would have preferred crunchy hash browns instead. Just sayin. I loved how modern this restaurant was and I loved their napkins! Plus, they have beer and brunch cocktails. Perfect for wine, liquor and beer fanatics alike.(They also have growlers). My friends and I sat pretty close to the open kitchen which every diner could see. The line cooks were working so hard and I couldn't help but tally what else I wanted to try when I'm in Grand Rapids again. Everything that came out of the kitchen was beautifully plated. I'll be sure to come back and try their breakfast burrito. The overall service was a tad bit slow. The wait was 45 minutes but the host txted us when our table was ready. (It wasn't too bad b/c we enjoyed some coffee at a cafe next door) Our waitress took a while to give us our bill... BUT- When she did, our bill came with a recipe card! What a nice additional touch! High ceilings, big windows, and a mix of elements, like stone, wood, and cement give the restaurant a welcoming, earthy feel when we arrived for Sunday brunch. Thankfully we beat the "after church" crowd and we had our pick of seats and a server who was welcomed us immediately upon being seated. We both ordered coffee to start. The menu was short but gave concise descriptions of each offering, making it hard to choose what to get. In the end, my hubby ordered the salmon scramble and I got the goat cheese, mushroom omelet. Both meals came out hot, fresh, and most importantly, quickly. The food was tasty to eat and pretty to look at; even the scramble was artfully arranged on the plate! My hubby enjoyed the rice pudding he got for desert. I assume that the higher prices reflect the fresh ingredients and a commitment to quality that was evident during my visit. Because of the higher prices, I won't make this an everyday place, but it was a nice change of pace. They have a happy hour special on drinks and wood fired pizzas from 3-6, which is a budget friendly way to experience what they offer. I can see how it must get busy during lunch of dinner hours but stopping by at an off time proved to be a good move for us. read more

We used to go here all the time for the food. Doesn't seem to be worth the money anymore. We ordered a Cesar Salad to split and split the Mushroom Risotto. The salad was wilted and the crumbs of garlic croutons made the entire salad like it had Garlic Sand on top. The Risotto was sickly sweet with maple syrup. We ordered 2 drinks each and the bill was over 100$ with tip. The service was fine and we have always liked the vibe at Terra, but the food was a letdown read more

Great place! Our waitress even gave us happy hour prices without even being in the bar. We had come for a business dinner and they put our business logo on the menu. Very cute and personal touch. I had an aperol spritz to start and I don't think it was made properly so that is my only feedback. I ordered the short rib and it was a very different type of dish but so delicious! Meat was so yummy and it had noodles with it and some type of cream or cheese sauce on it that was phenomenal. The wine the waitress suggested with it was amazing as well. Everyone else at the table really loved their food as well. We ordered appetizers for the table and my favorite was the goat cheese because if came with tons of other stuff too like dried fruit and pickled onions. Our waitress was also very friendly and made good suggestions. The parking however is a little hard but they do validate for the lot! read more
