I loved their beans, so I decided to buy a bag of the espresso roast. They also have single origin roasts, which I would love to try if I'm ever back here. The place is a walk up window with a very small patio, and it seems like back in the day, it used to be a place that you could walk inside. As for staff, there was one singular man making everyone's coffees and also bagging up coffee beans. Hats off to that guy (the owner? unsure). Really glad we stopped here, and I highly recommend making the stop if the line isn't too long.

Unfortunately there are not alot of coffee places around Mount Roberts, especially none that were open at 3pm on a Thursday. So YELP to the rescue and what a sweet one it was! Lucas Roasting Company is a small bisiness tucked away in Wolfboro. Pretty standard coffee drinks but #IYKYK - some of the best coffee comes from small roasting companies. I ended up with a delicous iced coffee and took some canned nitro back with me to CT. This year - again we hiked up (and down) Mount Roberts but this year it was H O T - so it was a no brainer where to head to for some caffine and cooling off. This year I met who I think was one of the owners who gave me the origin story (they are originally from VA) and told me that they have been open for a bit over 3 years. There was no cold brew in the cooler but this time it was a Nitro Cold Brew that was ordered and consumed before we made it back to our lodgings. I wish they were closer but it's good to know that they are "just down the road" from my yearly hiking venue.

The orange muffin was fine but did not have orange flavor. Love the space as they have plenty of seating in doors and outdoor. Unfortunately the food and drink didn't quite live up to my expectations. I ordered a cortado and a slice of carrot chai tea bread. The cortado had an unpleasant bitter aftertaste, like the espresso beans were overroasted. I did not realize the bread was gluten-free until I took a bite. The texture was good between the softness of the bread and the crunch of the pumpkin seeds, but didn't have the chai flavor I hoped for. I was asked if I wanted the bread warmed up and buttered so I said yes, not realizing the butter was an extra 75 cents until I checked my receipt. Feels like a bit much for a slice of bread that's already $6.75 (more than my cortado which was $4.50). On the more positive side, the shop is large and spacious with plenty of tables and chairs. There's a play area for children which is pretty cool if you have little ones with you. The ambiance is pretty unique since this is a repurposed garage. They seem very community-oriented with the event posting board at the entrance and the other local products for sale near the register. I would be willing to give this place another try should I be in the area again. I would just order a different drink and food.
