Had a strange experience here. There was a saleswoman there who did not greet us. After a few minutes of wandering around the store, the woman said that the store opens at 11 am and that it is only 10:45 am. If that was the case, why was the door open for customers to walk through? It was our first time going into the store and we did not know the store hours. And it was odd that she didn't stop us as soon as we walked in. She was rude about it. They have some beautiful pieces but the customer service needs help. read more

She brought back the good old-fashioned excellent customer service. She is helping me every step of the way. On the day she was not at the showroom, her colleagues at the Burlingame showroom were also very helpful. This showroom has an excellent sales team. Our experience has been really great from the first visit to the store, the extensive selection of beautiful outdoor furniture, the excellent consultation/advice to the timely delivery of our pieces. Our salesperson Carolyn was always our main contact and patiently and happily answered questions we had even weeks after delivery. We had a small issue with one of the pieces and Carolyn promptly handled it (she literally called me 15 minutes after I sent the email with a solution). Terra Outdoor Living is the best store for anything outdoor! I have purchased dining tables, chairs, rockers, umbrellas, etc over the years. I love the quality, etc! I purchased some dining chairs three years ago and have absolutely loved them. Unfortunately, I had some issues with them 3 years after the fact and when I called for help they handled my call with the best service EVER. They immediately said they would replace them. We spent a lot of time looking for outdoor furniture from Restoration Hardware to IKEA as we were remodeling our front and back yard. We really liked the variety of styles at Terra from aluminum to teak and while they weren't the cheapest they certainly had the most selection and service. Bernadette worked with us every step of the way from choosing our outdoor dining table and chairs to our sofa set. What really sets Terra apart is the level of service that Bernadette provided. Due to supply chain/port issues there were a few pieces that weren't available and we were going to have a big party. She managed to send us a loaner and worked with us extensively. She is always available and is realistic about the pros and cons of certain types of furniture and how it will weather. I appreciate her candor, knowledge and customer service. I have been holding out to buy the patio furniture that I always wanted and then I saw the amazing Memorial Day sale Terra Patio & Garden was having which prompted me to finally pull the trigger! I'm so happy I did ... the selection was great, the staff was amazing and the prices were the best I found (and I did a lot of shopping around)! On top of that - they delivered my furniture TWO DAYS later! Amazing! Many of the other stores were telling me 6-8 weeks and possibly longer. My boyfriend purchased a Christmas gift for me at this place. The seating item came into the store and he picked it up from them. This business didn't care enough to open this item and check for damages. They just took his money and gave him the defective item. Imagine my surprise when I got a damaged Christmas gift (it was my only one, since it's not cheap.) they got a new one to replace by January 7th. How nice. Did nothing to make it better. Didn't offer a discount at least on future purchases for the inconvenience. Will never purchase from this place and won't recommend it to others. read more

We purchased an outdoor table and 6 chairs from the Burlingame location. Worked with bernetwho wasn't helpful at first. We recieved the delivery yesterday and had to refuse the entire order. The top of the table was damaged along with all 6 of the outdoor chairs. The chairs were not wrapped in anything and all were in terrible shape. With scrapes and cuts t the actual chairs. When we called to get our money back we weren't told that they had trouble finding us all 6 chairs so they gave us the floor model. We were not told this until I called and talked to someone in the store. They knew they were the floor models and didn't not tell us. They tried to pass them off as new. We couldn't believe this business model. I talked to the regional manager about this and there were embarrassed. But we will not give them our business and want everyone to know. We were in really dissapointed and felt taken advantage of. Had we been given the choice when they realized they were sending us the floor samples that would have been a different story. read more

We bought a teak bench and two teak folding lounge chairs from here. Got fantastic service from the no pressure salesguy (not the usual snotty Burlingame Ave retail crap with attitude), and though I thought their prices were a bit steep, I think the nature of teak is such that it's expensive. They delivered everything in record time and set it up. I originally wanted to get some colorful wood furniture for our back yard, but my husband convinced me that teak would hold up better in inclement weather--and boy has it ever. No matter the rain and wind, storm and gusts, and wind, no matter the occasional hail . . . all three pieces have help up beautifully, not a single bit of falling apart, not structurally, nor to the actual wood. I bought an outdoor wicker loveseat here in September 2014 and it's one of my most popular pieces of furniture. I live in San Francisco and it's still in great shape after the winter. The store has great selection and customer service. The teak here didn't seem quite as good as the teak at Blue Sky in Palo Alto (I ended up buying most of my furniture there), but the price was a tad lower. I visited both the Mountain View location and this one in Burlingame. This location has a bit more space and selection and I ended up buying here. read more

Pricing was a bit over my budget but some of their "specials" were reasonable for the quality. Still shopping but I am returning with the hubby this weekend. They were really nice to us. Overall we had a great experience purchasing our trampoline from Terra Patio! Terra Patio in Mill valley recommended the Burlingame store to us as it was closer to our home. I spoke with Ben who was very helpful over the phone and was able to easily order the trampoline we wanted. The price was reasonable it also helped that they were running a special, half off delivery and set-up at the time. Jim the supervisor in charge of delivery and set up was flexible and good at what he does. The delivery and set-up was seamless, the two men who arrived were professional and on-time. We purchased a sofa last summer, and just purchased another of the same last week. Unfortunately the color/dye lot was different. I called hoping they may have some of the old dye lot in the warehouse. Once they saw the picture of the color difference they just offered to replace the old one with a new one so the two matched. I wasn't expecting this at all. They went beyond my expectations. Not only that, but every interaction with them has been pleasant and customer focused. Worked with Ben to design and purchase a play structure. Monkey bars, swings, trapeze rings, a climbing wall... the list of options to customize the structure were endless. The showroom is great as you can see and test out many of the choices. Although on installation day it turned out specific placement needed to be changed, the men were accommodating in the request.
