I love Terra Plata. Tamara Murphy continues to lead her kitchen to put our beautiful and flawless food. Linda is the most generous, welcoming and kind person and always makes you feel like you're at your best friend's house for dinner, with a big sun washed deck filled with friends. Such a wonderful vibe at Terra Plata. Sitting up on the rooftop is always great (so is sitting inside with the big open windows or at the bar for a quick glass of wine and burger). I have been meaning to try this place for the longest time. Honestly, it was underwhelming. It took a reasonable amount of time to get checked in. A party ahead of us had reservations and they were waiting for the hostess to check them in as well. The restaurant was not busy considering it was a Thursday night. Once we got seated on the terrace, it took a while for our server to come and take our drink orders. Once we mentioned that we were only there to get drinks, the server grabbed the plates and utensils which felt a little aggressive. The drink presentations were nice. Overall the service was not what I expected but the setting was nice. I would give the restaurant another shot, possibly for brunch or dinner next time. read more

When we sat down at 5:45 for our reservation, the hostess told us we could only have the table until 7:00pm??? We didn't really know how to respond to this other than saying ok. I came here to celebrate Easter Brunch. I ordered and enjoyed the King Salmon Pastrami. The salmon with the red onions and radishes creates a strong, savory combination. My girlfriend ordered the Brioche Bread Pudding. We expected it to be soft and pudding-like. We were not "bread-y" for the thick, bread-like consistency. The food here is really good but the service was really bad. There are no visible servers to help at all and it took forever to order. The table next to us were visibly upset waiting to check out and they arrived after us. We were wanting to get our check as well and asked multiple people, front desk, and even this lady who was walking around and they said they will get the check and it just ended up being what felt like forever. The one server who did take our order looked visibly like she hated her job, and when taking the order she seemed rude and grumpy, the one with shoulder length dark curly hair with glasses-- maybe mid 40's? It was nice to come into a restaurant that was closely following health guidelines, including proof of vaccination. They have a daily menu that was very interesting. I decided to good with the pork belly rice bowl, which was as close as comfort food as this Korean guy could ask for. The dish wasn't spicy but really good. Food was "bad". Truffled chips was a joke, basically deep fried potato chips with sour cream charging you $16 for two dozen pieces. During Covid Review: Came here for brunch and ordered the brussels sprouts because I saw a women next to me with the same dish. Oddly enough mine came out in literally the smallest white bowl where as the women next to me had a larger portion and actually came out on a plate so I'm not sure if they just ran out of plates. nonetheless it was not worth $16 dollars. My friends got the three egg scramble and the greek baked eggs, the baked eggs was the only dish I would have paid for. The scramble was small and bland. We came here on a Sunday morning for brunch. We felt that the food tasted very bland, especially for the price. It took over an hour to get our food, meanwhile, people that had arrived after us got their food and finished their meal while we were still waiting. The only redeeming quality is that they have a nice rooftop patio, but does not outweigh the other issues. The worst part of the whole experience is that the server fraudulently adjusted the provided tip amount, so now I had to go through the trouble of disputing the credit card charge amount with American Express. I will not be returning to this dishonest business, and highly recommend others avoid it. TL;DR - their food is great, but my party was seated 50 mins. late for our reservation and treated terribly as we waited for no discernable reason. I was a loyal customer here, but won't be coming back. I have been coming to Terra Plata for special occasion meals since they opened. My family celebrates birthday dinners, family visits, and Mothers' Days here, and since I moved back to Seattle I have brought multiple visiting friends, and even arranged my friends' wedding dinner here after their courthouse ceremony. The space is beautiful and the food is consistently awesome, but due to my experience last night of being treated terribly by the host staff, I will not be coming back. We had a 7:30 reservation for a party of 4, which I made weeks ago so we could celebrate my brother-in-law and his girlfriend coming to town. We arrived at 7:38, admittedly a few minutes late, and were told our table wasn't ready. ~20 minutes pass by, we're like whatever, sometimes this happens. But then we see another party of 4 who arrived after us get seated at an open table. We check in again with the host and are told the same thing. Over the next 30 mins, we watch 2 other parties get seated at open 4-top tables. Each time we ask, they insist that our table is not yet ready. We get annoyed and decide to get ourselves a drink while we wait. My husband and brother-in-law go over to the bar to order us drinks. The hostess immediately beelines for them to ask if they have a reservation. They tell her, again, that we are a part of the 7:30 reservation who is still waiting for our table. Finally, at 8:20, we are seated, the hostess apologizes and they do their best to make our evening better including several comped items. But I still don't have an explanation for what happened or why we were treated so horribly. Did I fail to recognize, behind her mask, that the hostess is someone I know who has a personal vendetta towards me? Did the staff just not like the look of us when we walked in? I will never know, but this shitty experience demonstrates that while Terra Plata is a fabulous restaurant, they have gotten too popular for their own good and the service has suffered. Train your people better, treat patrons with respect, or you will lose loyal customers like me. I won't be coming back, I will be searching for my new Terra Plata where I can celebrate special occasions in Seattle. You guys really screwed up. read more

The food was pretty good but is on the pricey end of things. I've been here twice once for my birthday brunch and second time for a friend's birthday dinner. It's very cute how they print out a special menu for the table. I tried their half chicken, it came with yucca fries and a bunch of interesting sauces. I love that their cocktails have a generous amount of spirit. Also pictured Korean style short ribs, according to my friend they were amazing and the chimichurri was well seasoned! The portion sizes vary so definitely check with your server. A little disappointed that the server didn't mention how big the chicken will be for a tiny person like me. read more

Came here with coworkers during a work conference recently. They said it's best ordered family style so we got the beets, the brussel sprouts, the game hen and the olives. I am not a huge beets person but I gave them a try. They were golden beets and had a nice flavor. Others at the table who like beets said they were some of the best. I'm also not a huge Brussels sprout person but these were delicious and I really enjoyed them. The game hen was perfect to share and nothing beets warm olives! food: 4.5 ambiance: 5 service: 5 came here on monday night-- and every monday is paella night with a large assortment of tapas, so it's different than their regular menu! they have a variety of wines/champagne/cocktails and a few non alchoholic drinks! we had resos and were seated right away, but fair warning, it did get quite busy around 6pm! we were able to get a table on their outdoor roof patio which was very beautiful and spacious and had dividers separating the tables, and was heated after the sun went down! the staff was very nice and attentive, they kept checking on us throughout the meal even when all the tables were full. we ordered the vanilla lemonade which tastes just like how it sounds, it was good, nothing crazy. then we ordered a few tapas: the shishito peppers, the piparras and boquerones, and the tuna tataki. the shishito peppers were amazing, the aioli it came with paired perfectly with the spicy peppers. the piparras and boquerones toasty had a minty anchovy butter topped with pickled peppers and onions and also a sardine/anchovy on top. i think the toasty had a good cronch and the butter was really interesting and enjoyable. the tuna tataki sat on top of a citrusy salad. the citrus was mild but i think i am personally not a fan, was pleasant though. for the entree, we split a marisco paella between two, and it was a good amount. there was a lot of shrimp, mussels, and clams. i wish there was a bit more flavor and a lot more of that delicious chimichurri! to end the meal, we got the churros with caramel, chocolate, and whipped cream. they were nice and hot and crispy, very fresh. the chocolate wasnt too sweet either! overall a wonderful experience, and i definitely will be back to try their other menu/menu items! read more

We decided to take advantage of the nice weather, so requested rooftop dining. It was packed and we sat so close to the table next to us, they were almost on our laps! Got an apricot cider from WA state which was not too sweet, but crisp. The charcuterie plate had some amazing pate and meats- it was fantastic. Little bites with so much mouthfeel. Didn't enjoy the chips; they were pretty, but a bit greasy and the truffle a bit overwhelming. The burrata was just ok; very pretty to look at, but a mess on the bread. Generous portion and very tasty Peruvian chicken- not super flavorful, but a big portion. This would best be shared as it would be a lot for 1 person. TL;DR: Terra Plata is overpriced and overrated. The decor on rooftop was fancy, but the food was just... not good. Shishito pepper, taste was ok. But charging $15 for that??? they probably need to double the portion of it. There were only like 12 peppers total. Roast pig: totally a failure, taste just like dipping pork into soy sauce, no flavor at all. Halibut: The fish it self is ok (like 3.5/5), but the remoulade that came with it? Just terrible and ruined the entire dish. It was tasteless and did not pair well with the fish. Just simply sad. Bone marrow was the only thing that tasted good, but it took them 40 minutes to cook when the waiter says it takes 20. It even arrived after we finished our main courses. We spent $130 total for two people on those terrible food, and we were not even getting any drink. I would not recommend Terra Plata at all. read more

I had some time before an afternoon flight back to L.A. and sought at a nice brunch spot downtown to complete my Seattle experience. Enter Terra Plata (or rather, I entered Terra Plata) which was indeed a nice spot with a happening rooftop dining scene available for brunch. Not being a fan of the elements I sat inside in the somewhat empty dining room which had an open feel and piles of biscuits nearby at the bar. Terra Plata's Menu updates frequently which is awesome and always a good sign that a restaurant keeps their offerings interesting and fresh; but unfortunately the dish I wanted from website menu was not what they had on current menu in the restaurant. Restaurants should update their website menus as soon as they update their actual menus...many of us wannabe foodies, and particular those of us with particular diets (vegetarian etc.) depend on that information to help choose where to eat, and if we show up and find the exact thing we wanted isn't on the current menu, it's disappointing. They got kind of close though...The Wild Huckleberry Crepes I wanted, became ricotta crepes with a huckleberry dressing. I wanted more fruit than cheese and that desire is what brought me in. I ordered them anyway and, although it was heavier than what I wanted, they were still delicious. The topping was a lovely huckleberry syrup (which they brought me extra of) mixed with little bits of mint leaves. The Fonte drip coffee they served was perfect an it came with natural looking cubes of white and raw sugar. A few other items are vegetarian on the brunch menu including items like blistered shishito peppers, and they are also nice enough to label what is gluten free right on the menu which is always super helpful and time saving for folks with that diet. Definitely more on the cusp of a very high 3 and a lower 4, but I do recommend and will be coming here again! My friends and I wanted a cute place that followed the guidelines of covid for a fun girl's night and Terra Plata was so accommodating and incredibly nice. It's definitely on the pricier side for food that is just average, so that's why I would knock it down to more of a high 3 or low 4 for the overall rating. Besides that, our service and time were of high quality! I made reservations earlier in the week because our visit was for celebrating a friend's birthday, and I am so happy I did because they made a cute menu that said "Happy Birthday!" at the top, so that was a cute surprise! We also made reservations for their rooftop but due to the Seattle rain, it was closed on the day we went. Thankfully, the restaurant called and made sure we were comfortable being seated inside. At first we weren't because of covid, but when I communicated that, they made sure my party of 4 was seated in a more isolated area. Even beyond that, their table setup clearly follows the social distancing guideline and the restaurant requires you to have a mask on at all times unless you're eating. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with my visit and am very happy to have tried Terra Plata. I definitely will be coming back again when their rooftop is open, and I recommend coming here if you want a good night with fun drink options! read more

First off, I will say the service was excellent. We felt we were well tended to the entire night. Unfortunately, that's about the only positive we could come up with. The restaurant is crowded--we both bumped into the backs of chairs while being seated. Furthermore, the tables are close enough together there's really no hope of a private conversation. The food was underwhelming and overpriced to say the least. While we appreciated the inventiveness for some of the dishes, all of them either missed or came out extremely bland (or some combination of the two). HIGHLY RECOMMEND This is my second visit to Terra Plata and both times exceeded my expectation. COVID UPDATE: So glad they were open so that we were able to celebrate our anniversary here! They took our temperature upon arrival and we kept our masks on until we reached our table on the rooftop. Servers were all wearing masks. Mini personal table hand sanitizers were on top of every table for use. Way to keep your employees / customers safe during these times! Our visit was very personable. We had menus on the table with our names on it, free glasses of campaign as we were settling in, and was able to get a beautiful seating on the rooftop! Our server was awesome and checked in often. The food was and is always delightful! We had the Cheese Plate as a starter which included manchego, herb goat cheese, big boy blue, mostarda, and some lavender honey. Our entree, the Gleason Ranch Ribeye and Rockfish was so delicious as you could really taste how fresh the ingredients were. My favorite part of both dishes were the purple snap peas! Such a fun vegetable! The sweetest gift Terra Plata gifted us was a Tomato Starter. Was on our way to check out with our new friend but it came home with us as a anniversary gift.
