One of the fancier Luquillo kioskos. My companion always gets the mofongo, and it is presented spectacularly and is perfectly delicious. I have had several things here, always excellent. I have fond memories of the amazing virgin mojito (special request, met with enthusiasm); tons of fresh mint, limes, so so good! I have to admit that the food tasted good but what threw me off was the attitude of our server. We got there at 7:30 P.M on a Wednesday night with two young children and the place was crowded. We quickly ordered our food since the children were hungry. We got the food at 8:45 P.M and we had to ask someone else to bring in water twice and it didn't get there a few minutes before the food came. Our 1 year old started to get very cranky since he was tired of just sitting there without food. We finished our dinner fast and was paying the check when the server asked me why I wasn't tipping him the minimum of 15%. ( what I gave him was a custom $5) I told him that the food was very late. And he responded that it was fresh food. I thought to myself that the food is supposed to be fresh. I told him that the children were cranky because of late service to which he responded it wasn't his fault. You tip your waiter if they made sure you were taken care of. I was extremely unhappy about the service here. I hope that they learn that people are not obligated to tip them and that they have to make sure their customers leave happily. I would have returned before the end of our vacation since the food was good but with this kind of service I am not returning.. read more

Over 2 hours to get our meal. Food was decent but definitely not worth the wait, especially when multiple tables were seated after us, received their food, finished eating and left before ours even came out. One table was even turned over twice. We definitely didn't get the "local" treatment. There are too many good restaurants in that strip so do yourself a favor and skip this one. read more

The food at Terruno was delicious!!! We had stayed at a nearby hotel, and had heard about the "kiosks"...soo glad we visited. The servers were very friendly, and we had their daily special, which was a whole red snapper stuffed with various seafood - it was AMAZING! Everything was prepared fresh, and the Sangria there was terrific as well. Not only was the food delicious, but their location is right by the beach so you have a fantastic view of the ocean as you dine on fresh seafood. Can't get any better than this! read more

This restaurant may have great food, but I will never know. An hour after being seated on their dirty chairs, our appetizers still hadn't arrived and our waitress was nowhere to be seen. The live band would be well suited to a larger venue, but for their size it was far past too loud. The music was good, just way too loud. Eventually we left, hungry and deafened. Terruño has been a highlight of our time in Luquillo. It's location in the kiosks and the live band made it noisy and we had to wait 30 minutes for a table but I would gladly wait twice as long - the food is that delicious. We started with the sweet plantains stuffed with shrimp and skirt steak on the recommendation of our waiter. What a way to start a meal! So rich and flavorful that we found ourselves scooping up the last drops of the sauce with our fingers. For the main course I recommend the grouper ceviche and the coconut rice with fish. We also tried the mahi mahi filet but weren't as impressed, mostly because the sauce we chose (creamy garlic) was too heavy. The prices were low for such impressive dishes. We wish we had time on our visit to come back again! Highly recommended. read more

We have eaten at the kiosks when we first visited 4 years ago but didn't try Terruno till this visit. I picked it after seeing a review here on the coconut rice with fish. I ordered that and it was amazing! It was a large portion of arroz con gandules (rice with beans) and pieces of grouper throughout. The flavor was sensational. The portion was huge and I took half of it home and had two lunches. Definitely the best place we tried of all the kiosks so far! Would highly recommend it. Second time in Puerto Rico and finally decided to stop and venture to the Kiosks. We checked all the reviews and thought this was the most interesting spot, and we were not disappointed. Music and ambiance were great, not to mention the food and drinks. We had the chillo relleno (stuffed while red snapper) and passion fruit mojitos. And the beans that come with the simple rice and beans are unbelievably flavorful - I thought they would be excellent as a soup, they were so yummy. Great sangria, too. Yum yum! We ordered the conchmeat arepas, rabbit stew, and lobster mofongo. All were excellent. Great live music and festive atmosphere, and wonderful service from our waiter Moses. Would be five stars as we had a long wait between the app and main course; Moses explained that the chef wanted to remake one of our dishes, and gave us some yummy fried cheese with guava sauce to hold us over. Went here for lunch after hiking the Mina Falls. The food here is excellent! I had the gumbo, others mofongo, and rabbit. Everyone loved the food and the portions were extremely generous. The service is very slow so be prepared to wait. Took over 30 minutes for the food to come which I normally hate but we were not in a rush so it was no big deal. Gumbo came out so hot I had to wait several minutes before I could eat it. You should check this place out but be patient. read more

the food was amazing. we had the stuffed whole snapper and it was delicious. the mojitos were also very good. The waiter was fantastic. He even makes his own after dinner wash bowl for customers so they can clean their hands. It is made with mint and lemon. What a great touch! We will be back next year for sure!! read more

This is an up and coming restaurant in the "Kioskos" of Luquillo, we've been there more that a couple of times and it is always really good, it almost like "La Parrilla" but not that expensive and not that many fresh fish options, really good ambience, clean place looking at the beach. The mofongo is very nice such is every other plate (tried almost everyone of them), we don't think the fish is fresh though, the waiters say it is but we are chefs and restaurant owners and still doubt it after trying it once. We ordered Mahi Mahi in a garlic cream with mofongo which the waitress brought back wrong, bringing what was supposed to be fresh Grouper (it wasn't) but it really was Swai, that is a thing that many places are doing so they can win a little more money but people that know they notice and don't appreciate it. Everything else in the menu is super good and have been eating there frequently as it doesn't dissapoint (except for the swai). read more
