Palm Harbor Grill - Loved this House Sauce which I used on my sandwich

My friend Angela suggested we try Palm Harbor Grill, where she's had good experiences in the past. The restaurant is located in a strip mall alongside other spots and appears to have been recently renovated. Inside was clean, organized, and nicely decorated. Our waiter, George, was friendly, down-to-earth, and very accommodating. He also spoke Portuguese, which made it easy for Angela to communicate. The menu was just okay. While it offered traditional Portuguese dishes, it also included Italian options, which felt a little out of place for a restaurant presenting itself as Portuguese cuisine. We started with the octopus in garlic sauce 5/5. It was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Easily the highlight of the meal. The shrimp in garlic sauce, served with Portuguese chips and white rice, was a bit of a letdown 2/5. There was very little sauce for the shrimp to soak up, and the flavor just didn't hit the mark. The biggest disappointment was the grilled Portuguese sausage 0/5. It was fatty, cold when served, and honestly inedible. George tried three times to warm it up for us. What made it more frustrating was watching other tables receive theirs flambéed tableside. Ours came out pre-cut and at what felt like refrigerated temperature. When we asked why ours wasn't served the same way, we were told that presentation style costs an additional $6. Really? I had the sangria, which was enjoyable though slightly on the sweeter side 3.5/5. Overall, I truly wish this experience had been better, especially considering the drive to Palm Coast from Jacksonville. I was hoping for a taste of home, but unfortunately, it fell short this time.

From great dinners that save me from slaving in the kitchen to birthday celebrations -- Houligan's…read morePalm Coast always delivers. It's got that perfect mix of sports bar energy and casual family dining. The bar side has the buzz, the restaurant side is a little more chill, and both have plenty of TVs if you're here to catch the game. The staff is consistently friendly and quick, even on busy nights, and the food is always solid. Wings, burgers, wraps -- we've tried a little of everything, and it's all good. (Special shoutout to their fries -- crispy, golden perfection.) When it comes to wings, we're partial to ordering them "well Wally wet" -- trust me, that's the move. The guys love the "everything sauce," which is exactly what it sounds like: a mix of all their sauces in one glorious combo. You can even order all flats for a small upcharge, which is a nice touch for fellow wing purists. We just celebrated our son's 20th birthday here, and the GM surprised us by buying dessert for the table. Totally unexpected and so appreciated! It's little touches like that that make a place feel local-loved rather than just local-known. Whether you're watching the game, grabbing dinner after work, just giving your kitchen a night off, or having a celebration, Houligan's Palm Coast is one of those dependable spots that never misses.

This saved me a trip to another pretzel place over 30 mins away! We got 2 orders of these things! They were that good! The honey mustard that came with them was delicious! They were so hot, crunchy, salty and soft inside. Everything you want in a pretzel in one delectable bite! I ordered a Buffalo Chicken salad, son got chicken tenders and my daughter got the Club wrap. The salad was cold and crisp. Dressing obviously home made! All were delicious! Definitely worthy of re-orders! In addition, we had them bring fried pickles with our meals. I couldn't believe the portion! Massive! The ranch accompaniment was delicious. Would definitely return again soon! Our server, Maddie was attentive and quick! Every time I have ever been here everyone has been great! If you like a sports bar atmosphere with trivia games on the TV's and great food you can't go wrong!

Update to original review December 23, 2025:…read more While the initial experience at this location was disappointing due to a lack of courtesy, I appreciate the prompt follow-up and professional resolution provided by LongHorn Steakhouse's corporate guest relations. --- Original review December 21, 2025 I have been a regular customer at this LongHorn Steakhouse location and at the LongHorn chain overall. I've always treated the staff with respect and consistently leave very good tips. Unfortunately, this experience completely changed my perception of the restaurant. We went out for lunch as a family. I finished my Strawberry Salad, but it filled me up, and I barely touched the rest of my meal. I then requested a to-go container and a plastic bag, packed the remaining food myself, and placed everything inside a closed plastic bag. My daughter also left almost her entire 6oz sirloin with mac & cheese, which was packed and placed in the same bag. Because we were in a hurry, we accidentally left the bag behind. A short while later, once we realized it, I called the restaurant. To my disappointment, the first person I spoke with was dry, dismissive, and showed no interest in helping. I then asked to speak with a manager, which only made the situation worse. The manager questioned whether I had "proof," as if my word and my receipt were not sufficient. I was told that no staff member reported that a guest left anything behind and that "they clean the tables." That explanation is unacceptable. This was a closed plastic bag containing clearly packed food, not loose leftovers on a table. Our server, Chuck, who received a very generous tip, did not make any effort to have the food held, even briefly. Instead, it was simply thrown away. No courtesy. No consideration. No customer care. I was not asking for a refund or special compensation. I simply expected basic decency and common sense, especially from a restaurant where I had been a loyal customer to both this location and the brand. This situation was offensive and deeply disappointing. You did not lose a customer because of a mistake, but because of the attitude and how this situation was handled. Very unfortunate to see such a lack of customer care from a brand that claims to value hospitality.

This night, it was a family celebration that brought us in. I had a less than wonderful experience, but I thought it was important to share. We were sat at 4:00 but didn't get addressed by a server until 4:15 or so, with no apology or explanation. The restaurant wasn't busy so it made no sense. We didn't have the cleanest experience, as there was food and other garbage on the floor around us and in the menus, but there was a worker trying to clean around us, so they may have been short staffed. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, got the drinks right away and the apps in a timely manner. We got the Texas Tunion which was saltier than usual but we didn't send it back as the table wasn't visited again until 4:35. At this point, we hadn't ordered dinner yet and were still working through the appetizer. As the table next to us enjoyed their apps and salads, we patiently waited to order dinner. At 4:38 we finally were able to place the order. By now, we were surrounded by dirty dishes and empty drinks. She brought new drinks, took our order, and let us know she'd be back to clear the table. Well, salads were delivered and the dishes were still there at 5:00, but all was cleared at the same time 5:10. Food was delivered to the table at 5:10 and it was delicious. We paid the check just before 6. Why this review? Remember, our perspectives matter, and our experiences matter, and our interactions with others do still matter. One review can hurt. In all of that madness, our waitress worked her behind off. She barely stopped to BREATHE. Instead of us getting upset, we enjoyed some additional family time together. We talked. We laughed. This place that had been so consistent had a bad day, but it happens. And it's still a 4 to me.
