Second, the woman who was working there yesterday is rude to the point of open hostility towards disabled people. She didn't hide her utter disdain and apathy for my mobility problems, and she refused me service on the basis that, when washing my hair at the only angle I'm able to manage to hold my neck at over the wash basin, a bit of water might have run down my neck and dripped onto the floor. The irony of her being horrified by the possibility of needing to mop up a tiny puddle of soapy water afterwards, is that her filthy floor was desperately in need of a good wet mopping anyway. More the point, other salons (such as Vis A Vis) have adjustable wash bowls and chairs so that they can be angled to the need of the customer. That's because the American Disability Act means something to them, and they have a culture of inclusion and accessibility. In contrast, Perfect Cut treats disabled people like dogs to be shooed away with contempt and disgust.

I explained to Houda that I have dry, sensitive skin and am on tretinoin, which further sensitizes skin. Certain ingredients don't mix well with tretinoin and if you're doing a peel, micro needling, etc you have to stop tret use for several days leading up to treatment. During my facial, she applied a salicylic acid mask that immediately burned my skin, to the point that my eyes were watering and it was unbearable to leave on longer than about a minute or two. By the time I got home, my skin was bright red, like a bad sunburn. By 10/11, my skin was peeling off in chunks. I emailed Houda and she replied some dryness and tightness is normal. I am now 4 days out and my entire face is still peeling in large pieces. If I was there for peel, that'd be ok, but I just went for a facial and had no intention of getting a peel and it was never discussed. Houda's response to my concerns has felt a bit dismissive and told me this is a normal reaction. If that's the case, I wish the communication had been better- I had no idea she was going to use a product that'd cause my face to peel intensely for days on end. After looking into the product used, it is not intended to cause peeling. It seems like this product shouldn't have been used on sensitive skin or on a client using tretinoin. The manufacturer of the product advised me to see a doctor regarding this reaction. Based on other reviews I know Houda can do great work, unfortunately I don't think this is a good option for people with sensitive skin looking for a facial.

Houda also does tattoo removal - for people who lacked the good judgement not to get dolphins and Garfield that Cat tatted to their ankles back in the 80's. The salon is gorgeous and she works Tuesday - Saturday: 10 am - 6:30 pm and her prices are lower than other salons that I'd checked out. If you want to get rid of some cherry moles or ridiculous tattoos (that your mother warned you not to get), give her a call.

I called to make an appointment for the next morning right when they opened. They were already booked, so the owner opened a whole hour early just to fit me in! Both times I've been for manicures have been incredible. I show the inspo pic, and they get it done exactly! The salon is small, but the quality and service is excellent. I can't speak to their other services but the gel manicures literally last for weeks! Both of mine stayed for two weeks (and could have gone longer but I don't love the grown out look for too long), with no chips or peeling whatsoever. Prices are extremely reasonable. I won't be going anywhere else for my nails!
