If I could give two ratings, I would give Paul stars and Juan gets stars. Why? Here's why:…read more We initially worked with our first point of contact, Paul, thru email, who was absolutely wonderful for two reasons: #1 offered solutions and options, and #2 answered his emails very late at night due to our emergency situation. Well done, Paul! Thank you! 2-stars is for Juan, the manager, who initially should have earned 5 stars for being timely with phone calls to set up the appt and for calling us with any follow-ups throughout the day. The reason for his 2-star review is because we asked ahead if we can retain one of our old tires with the best tread for emergency (we replaced all 4). Of course he said yes but forgot so after we paid our bill, he went to the garage to retrieve the tire, knowing one of the 4 tires had a nail in it. Well, guess which tire he loaded into our trunk - the one with a nail. I called right away the next morning and left a VM with the person that answered the lobby phone. I was told it was Juan's day off but he took my name and number and said Juan would call me the following day. He never did. It wasn't even on a wknd. I was expecting a call from Juan on a Tues. I'm in the service/hospitality business too and I know it can get busy, however just because Discount Tire & Service Center in Irvine already collected $632 from me doesn't mean they shouldn't return messages from a new customer within 12-hours of the service. Feel free to call me, Juan, if you'd like to make it right and to have me change this rating to a 5-star.

I spoke with the manager, who was friendly, professional, and able to get me in right away. After I shared the price I had been quoted elsewhere, he worked with me and offered an excellent deal on two tires that I couldn't pass up. I expected the install service to take about an hour, but they had everything completed in just 35 minutes. The combination of outstanding customer service, great pricing, and quick, quality work made the decision an easy one. I highly recommend Big O Tires and will definitely return for future tire and automotive needs.

Absolutely unacceptable service. This was by far the worst experience I've had at a Big O Tires…read more I called this location at 7:00 AM when they opened and spoke directly with the manager, Aureliano Garcia. I asked if they could install my backup tires and perform an alignment on my truck. He told me they could and asked me to bring it in. I arrived around 7:25 AM and was one of the first customers there. My truck was brought into the bay right away. Before leaving it with them, I specifically asked Aureliano how long the job would take. He told me approximately two hours, mentioning that my tires were larger and might take a little extra time. Two hours passed. Not finished. Two and a half hours passed. Still not finished. Three hours passed, and my truck was sitting in essentially the same condition. The wheels I could see on the ground hadn't even moved from where they had been sitting. At one point, I saw a technician who had been working on my truck outside on a cigarette break. Meanwhile, customers who arrived after me were getting their vehicles finished and leaving before me. I repeatedly had to approach the manager myself to find out what was happening. Not once during this entire ordeal did the manager proactively come over and give me an update. Every time I asked, I was simply told they were "behind schedule." Eventually I saw my truck come off the lift and thought, finally, it's finished. I asked Aureliano if it was ready and was then told, "No, we still have to do the alignment." At that point it had been approximately FOUR HOURS for a job I was originally told would take about two. I own and manage a business myself. Delays happen--I completely understand that. What I don't understand is leaving a customer sitting there for hours without communicating with them. If you're running two hours behind, tell your customer. Give them the option to leave, get a ride, reschedule, or make other arrangements instead of wasting their entire morning. I ultimately paid $389 for the service. Despite the excessive delay and lack of communication, I wasn't offered any type of courtesy or adjustment for the inconvenience. But somehow it got even worse. After finally leaving and driving 20 minutes home, I discovered that they had not returned my wheel-lock key after using it on my truck. I immediately called Aureliano, and apparently the technician had forgotten to put it back. So after already losing essentially my entire morning, I now had to make another 40-minute round trip because of their mistake just to retrieve something that belongs in my truck and that I need in order to remove my wheels. Between the original wait and having to drive back, roughly five hours of my day were wasted. I gave them every opportunity to handle the situation professionally. I was patient when two hours became three. I was patient when three became four. But poor communication followed by forgetting my wheel-lock key was the last straw. I will be escalating my experience to Big O Tires corporate. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location. The lack of communication, excessive wait, and failure to return an important piece of my vehicle equipment were completely unacceptable. Worst Big O Tires experience I've ever had. I will not be returning.

The important thing to know is that if you come during the holidays or on a weekend, it will be busy. The good thing is, as long as you don't mind parking on the very upper levels and walking a bit, I've always been able to find parking. But if you don't like walking at all, this probably isn't the center for you, and there's a lot of walking if you want to explore everything! What I love about this center is that you have everything from Nordstrom to Target, literally! You can find some very unique restaurants, along with typical chains, so there's something for everyone. We'll occasionally see a movie here as well, but that's another review. What impresses me the most is how well-maintained and clean everything is. Even the elevators in the parking garages are graffiti-free, which is very unusual. Now, not all the locations have maintained their interiors as well, but that's on them and not the Irvine Spectrum. My favorite time to come is still in December. We've always found the night atmosphere to have a lot of great energy. And yes, there are a lot of teens who hang around and have loud fun; they're harmless and add to the energy.

It is free parking which is nice and that is a good value. There are several shops, restaurants, Target, Apple store, cheesecake factory, a comedy club, a movie theater, a ferris wheel and much more. Some of the shops are more high end, so expensive. It is usually very crowded and it seems like everyone in OC is there on the weekends. I haven't really dealt with any of the mall staff, so can't talk about their service but I do see some of them cleaning pretty regularly, so that is good. There are a few bathrooms scattered around the mall, that are not in the restaurants. There are some nice water fountains too. It is a pretty large open air mall, hopefully you plan your shopping experience out well, otherwise prepare to walk a lot. Enjoy the photos.
