Warning About Nissan Cathedral City…read more I purchased a 2017 Jeep Renegade from Nissan Cathedral City on January 2, 2025. Within months, the car developed major mechanical and electrical failures, including cooling fan issues, shorted circuits, a malfunctioning backup camera, a broken sunroof motor, and more. The vehicle has now been out of service since May 12, 2025 over 115 days and counting. Despite my purchase coming with both a dealer warranty and extended coverage, Nissan has refused to take responsibility, provide a refund, or replace the vehicle. Instead of standing by their customer, they have left me paying for a car I cannot drive while I continue to deal with rental car expenses, insurance, and the financial and personal hardship this has caused. My advice: Do not buy a car from Nissan Cathedral City. They do not stand behind their vehicles or their customers when problems arise. I am sharing this to warn others so no one else in our community has to go through this nightmare.

I told the salesperson that I was there to look at this particular car. Immediately he said it was sold. Then I asked how long ago it sold...because it was still posted. He said a couple of days ago. Then he said hold on let me check. He went to the back hallway and asked this other guy if he sold the car. Things got a little quieter and I couldn't hear what they were talking about...but the conversation was a little long for a simple yes or no question....is the car sold ? He came back out and told me he thinks it's still there. He said he had to find the keys and would bring it around to the front. He did. I took a look ...I was interested . I noticed that there had been a sticker that was removed from the window ..still had the glue mark on the glass. Important clue for me. I asked if I could drive the car and he said he would have to ask his manager. Weird..but ok. Got in to drive and I was told I couldn't leave the parking lot area. Even stranger. Said it had to be saftey checked. It had already been posted online and on the floor. But if I was interested it still needed to be finished being checked. And wouldn't be available yet but I could start the process. This was BS for sure. So I said I'm interested...but only if we could do a little better deal. He said sure let's go in and talk about it. He asked me did I have the online price and could I pull it up on my phone...I said yes . This is their site ....he knows the price. This is where everything starts to crumble for me. He's talking too much. Side tracking. And I'm trying to put all of these things together....it just started to feel off. He kept telling me all of these things that you get when you buy a used car from them. A year warranty / first service ...blah blah blah. And this is why..... I asked before we run my credit....by the way excellent....wasn't worried about that. I wanted to know what the cost would be for the car. He talks about writing down a price going to his manager coming back to me....that same crap. I don't do the back and forth. What's the price that you want for the car. And then....out of his pocket he pulls out a crumpled sticker....the one he obviously pulled off the window before he brought it around to the front. It had an additional couple thousand added to the online price ....it was all their add ons . No Way. It's a used car. Total bait . Car dealerships need to stop this crap. I was asked how much I would give. I said I would give 1000 less than the online price...plus tax and license. They said no. The problem for them was I would have given the full online price except for the fact that they tried to play me...and I felt slighted by that. I agree with Tony L's review. Spot on. And I definitely agree with S.W. review about this particular sales person. People are in business to make money . I get that. Be transparent....dont boost up a sticker price with coatings and door gaurds and crap like that. Do better. Truly disappointed.

How in tarnation does this BMW have such a low rating?!??…read more I fuhking hate auto dealerships ( I've crashed many a cars and then automatically leased/purchased more cars ,therefore, I'm officially a professional luxury car buyer) THIS BMW IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST YOU WILL EVER ENCOUNTER! The service department..... have become my bffs (not sure if they consider me their bff, though) The service director, Guy, is an all around cool and legit dude! Trust me, I've cornered this man in his own office demanding to speak to me to explain the extended warranty i purchased and why it doesn't include all three of my gawd damn 5 series batteries in it. I was expressly assured by the salesperson that they would not do so. I raised the issue multiple times during the transaction because it was important to me, and the salesperson again confirmed this in front of another salesperson at the dealership when I asked about it a second time. Despite those assurances, my credit was apparently still run and the financing was subsequently re-originated through the dealership's lender network. The loan also ended up being structured as a personal loan rather than the business financing arrangement I had intended to use. When I later called the dealership to discuss the issue, I was transferred to a sales manager who was argumentative and dismissive in tone. During the conversation, he stated that I had been "misinformed" and claimed that running a credit check and handling financing this way was standard process across dealerships. He also appeared to acknowledge that the dealership had re-originated the loan, specifically stating that they did so because they "got me a better rate." However, the rate difference was only approximately 0.05% better than the financing offer I had already independently secured through my own bank. From my perspective, being assured multiple times that my credit would not be run, only to later discover that the financing had been changed anyway, felt suspicious, dishonest, and potentially unethical. This was furthered when I called the sales manager and he was argumentative and said this was standard practice for dealerships while also acknowledging they had re-originated the loan. Customers should clearly understand: -when and why their credit is being run, -whether financing is being re-originated, -how a loan is being structured, -and whether it is being processed as a personal or business loan. The vehicle itself may be fine, but the financing and communication process left me with serious concerns. When I called to discuss this, the sales manager would not transfer me to the general manager.

I asked a lot of questions, and he knew the answers right away. Deanna Cross, the Floor manager came right over to me and a colleague to greet us and ask us how things were going. My observations while waiting in the hospitality waiting area showed me that people were basically sitting down and then immediately getting up to retrieve their cars. My first oil change experience was 5 Star rated, all the way around!! I am so glad that I bought a vehicle from this fine dealership!!

Extremely disappointing and concerning experience with Shottenkirk Desert Lexus…read more I brought my Lexus LS460 in because the vehicle would not go over 30 mph. The dealership kept my car for several weeks, performed their diagnostics, and confidently advised that the issue was related to the injector driver/ECU. Based on their recommendation and supposed expertise, I approved a repair totaling over $5,300. That repair did NOT fix the original problem. What's even more concerning is that their own documentation shows they recommended "additional diagnosis" before completing the repair, yet they still proceeded with a costly fix that did not resolve the issue I brought the car in for. Now, instead of taking accountability, I'm being told they are "not sure" what the problem is and are recommending another $3,000+ in additional repairs. In other words, more trial-and-error--at my expense. This is not what you expect from a Lexus dealership. The issue wasn't properly diagnosed, the repair did not address the actual problem, and now the diagnosis has changed after the fact. At this point, I've paid over $5,000 and the original drivability issue remains unresolved. Being asked to continue paying for uncertain repairs after a failed initial diagnosis is unacceptable. I have escalated this matter to Lexus corporate and am pursuing further action. If you are considering service here, especially for major repairs, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving any work. This experience raises serious concerns about diagnostic accuracy and accountability at this location.

My rear shocks on my 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 were shot and Shaun had them replaced the same day. I've had leak issues with my aftermarket air bags and was told that the left side collapsed. So since I'm not pulling my horse trailer any longer, I decided to go back to stock and they removed the broken system. Now she's riding better than ever!!! With my truck at over 10 years old, I have correctly put my trust in Shaun and the Jessup family. Always impressed with their top shelf professionalism, superb mechanical repair work and terrific attitude. Happy truck = happy owner!!!

He looked me in the eye and clearly stated, "This car is yours," and assured me multiple times that it would NOT be sold to anyone else. Based on his word, I stepped out briefly for lunch with my family, fully intending to return immediately to complete the purchase. After spending over SIX HOURS at this dealership and driving all the way from San Diego, I came back ready to finalize payment--only to be told the vehicle had been sold to someone else. This was not a misunderstanding. This was a complete failure to honor a confirmed agreement. What made the situation even worse was David's behavior afterward--he attempted to deflect responsibility, created unnecessary drama, and made misleading statements in front of his team instead of owning his actions. This shows a serious lack of professionalism, integrity, and basic respect for customers. A dealership that operates like this cannot be trusted. If their word means nothing, then neither does their business. Be extremely cautious when dealing with this place. Do NOT rely on verbal commitments, no matter how confident they sound. I lost an entire day, wasted hours of my time, and was treated with zero respect after a confirmed deal. This is not how a reputable dealership should conduct business.

When I first visited the dealership, I was assured the vehicle had been well maintained by the previous owner, who supposedly serviced it regularly and traded it in for a Porsche due to retirement. The car drove beautifully, and my sales representative, Sherman Sims, was very kind, helpful, and made the buying process feel comfortable. However, there were important issues that were not properly disclosed. At the time of purchase, I noticed a light on the dashboard but was told by the general manager that it was simply due to a setting that could be adjusted. I later learned this may actually be related to a battery issue. In addition, there was visible damage to the infotainment screen that I was not made aware of prior to purchase. I will be including photos in this review. This is not something I would expect on a vehicle presented as being in great condition. I also paid a significant amount for add-ons, including StarGard and ClearShield, which I was not comfortable with but agreed to because I believed I was purchasing a high-quality, well-maintained vehicle. The very next day after purchasing the car, I noticed the screen issue and had my husband call the dealership. We were told the vehicle was sold "as-is" and that we would be responsible for any repairs. I returned to the dealership in person to try to resolve the issue. After spending hours waiting, I was told they would coordinate with a Jeep dealership and follow up with me. That follow-up never happened. To address the issues myself, I scheduled an appointment with a Jeep dealership, where I was informed that both batteries were bad. Porsche did ultimately replace the batteries, which I appreciate. However, regarding the infotainment screen, Jeep advised that they could not determine the cause without a full diagnostic and that it may require replacement. They did not confirm that the issue was sun damage. When I brought this information back to Porsche Palm Springs, the general manager, Mike Anchondo, stated there was nothing he could do and maintained that the damage was cosmetic. He also claimed that Jeep had diagnosed it as sun damage. This directly contradicted what I was told by Jeep, who even put in writing that a proper diagnostic is required to determine the cause. When I attempted to discuss this discrepancy, Mike Anchondo was dismissive, argumentative, and rude. I was told that "all cars have issues" and that it was my responsibility for not noticing the problem prior to purchase. This response was extremely disappointing. I am not disputing that used cars can have issues, but this was a visible condition present immediately after purchase that was not disclosed, and I made a good faith effort to resolve it through the dealership. Instead of working toward a reasonable solution, I was met with conflicting information, lack of accountability, and poor customer service. While the initial buying experience was positive, the lack of transparency, poor communication, and dismissive treatment after the sale has been extremely disappointing. I expected a much higher level of integrity and customer care from a dealership representing the Porsche brand. I would have preferred to resolve this directly with the dealership, but unfortunately that opportunity was not taken. At this point, I am simply asking for accountability, clear communication, and a fair resolution to issues that were present immediately after purchase and were not disclosed.

This was my first time working with them on this new used Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. Unlike the La Quinta Hyundai service team, I felt I could trust the care and service recommended by the Palm Springs team. I cannot more highly recommend the dealership and will come back here to by my next Sonata.

These guys are careless and negligent and will gaslight, lie, and rip you off any chance that they get. Also, on my final visit the service manager, George, had another employee in his office with her shoes off and bare feet on the furniture which is just poor hygiene and gross. Dustin in sales, Todd the sales manager, George the service manager, and Trey the general manager have zero integrity and should be ashamed of how they treated me. I would do zero stars if I could.
