Hooray for Tesla Superchargers being placed along popular roadways throughout the United States! Whether you are heading to Death Valley, Mammoth Lakes, Reno, Las Vegas or elsewhere, you will don't have much of a choice but to pass through Mojave. The name sounds more exciting than the town itself. Mojave is no longer in its "Heyday" when Borax was brought by mules to the railroads here. Now Mojave is just a town full of run down restaurants, gas stations and stores in the middle of hot AF desert. This Mojave Tesla Supercharger has 6 charging slots--and it appears more are in their way (6 more, perhaps). One is either for semi trucks or is a two in one charger. There is a grocery store (Stater Bros), a Mexican Restaurant (Anthony's), and S&Y Furniture Store. If you're willing to walk, there is also Thai (Mojave Thai) or burgers (Primo Burgers). Sadly, it says under Tesla amenities that there is WiFi, yet none exists--hence loss of one star. Also, I wish there were public restrooms and garbage cans. This is a terrible supercharger, as far as supercharger stops go. Information says there's 8 chargers, but once you arrive three are covered (out of commission?) and one is broken. There's 7 cars waiting in front of us, I heard one waited for 1.5 hrs or more? Imagine if you were out of gas and went to the only gas station available only to have to wait 1.5-2hrs. Unacceptable. Out of 4 persons, two had to go to the bathroom and someone was hungry. There was no good bathroom options, we walked all the way to the grocery store and to the back, there was no good food options either. One Mexican restaurant which no one was in the mood for. We moved on asap and will go to another supercharger. read more

Small but strategically located supercharger. If you are like us and headed from Monterey to Palm Springs, then this is a well placed stop. This route will get you around LA traffic and there are a couple of charging opportunities. Here are six 120W chargers set in a small mall with a few dining choices and a supermarket. Right in front of the superchargers is Anthonys Grill. They serve Mexican cuisine and have the closest bathroom. read more

This location is miserable compared to every other SC I've been to. Not a single bathroom after getting stuck in traffic between Bakersfield and Mojave. It took me over 3 hours to get between Bakersfield and the SC and I REALLY needed a bathroom. The Mexican restaurant refused and said for customers only. Seriously..? I decided to wait until the next SC stop in Yermo, which was great. A lot of the businesses in Mojave close early or result to drive thru only, after a couple tries I gave up and moved on. read more

Recently in mid-January there was a bit of a snow storm that caused the I-5 to be closed. This meant all the traffic had to be rerouted east, and for Teslas, the nearest supercharger would be out here in Mojave, CA. Naturally, there were 10+ Teslas waiting to charge at this location. However, that night when we needed as many stations to be working as possible, 1 was broken and wouldn't charge, and 1 was not even online/available for use. Given there were only 5-6 stations in total, missing so many from the available stalls were an issue. Granted, I'm thankful for this station since it saved all our Tesla butts during the snowstorm, but would have been nice to have all the stations working. This place is located in a large plaza with a grocery store (which was nice since we stocked up on roadtrip essentials) and some other eateries, so this could help pass some time as you charge. read more

My trip vegas had me stop here twice. The restroom is at stater bros supermarket. When you enter it on the left back corner where there is a clock. You need to ask for a pin code. Bathrooms are clean. Dont even bother with the stores closest to the charging stations. Ok place to grab last minute items from the grocery store. There are no garbage cans near the charging station and the nearest one is at the stater bros entrance. Lets keep the area clean, walking is good afterall. Great and quick charging stop on our way to Mammoth. The grocery store, stater brothers was close and clean. Stopped to use the bathroom. The bathroom was clean and staff were friendly. read more

This stop isn't the best for sure. The Tesla chargers by themselves are ok but the location isn't great. At night there is no bathroom at all and overall the location is a little bit creepy. read more

Date of visit: Feb 2, 2019. Three of the 6 chargers were not working. One of the charging spaces was occupied by a non-Tesla vehicle just using it for parking. The strip mall's food choices were limited to a Mexican café....and the next supercharger was in Barstow, which was temporarily CLOSED. This leg of our 1,400 mile trip was an unpleasant nightmare. read more

Spent an hour charging here on our way to Mammoth from L.A. Plenty of available chargers. Got a full charge while we had dinner at the Thai restaurant. This is our first Tesla road trip, so we were very glad to have a quick and easy charging option along the way. read more

Stopped here on the way to Tahoe. Six chargers. Max # of cars while we were there on an early Sunday afternoon was 4. The shopping center is quite rundown and it's not a great place just to hang out. Quite a few homeless and I saw a few people walking around to gawk at the Teslas. I had a friendly chat with one vagrant who wanted me to know is brother just got a Nissan Leaf. The guy was nice enough, but I was glad I was the one out by the car and not my wife. We did eat at the Primo's Burgers. Decent food (see my Yelp review) and I enjoyed my burger quite a bit. Bathrooms are not good - outside entry, will not win any awards for decor and cleanliness. We also used the restrooms in the Stater Bros. Super Market. Better, but quite stinky. Overall, it served its purpose and we were on on our way. read more

The charger gets the job done, but other amenities are very limited. We stopped here on a Sunday, and the Mexican restaurant was closed. The only other option was Thai food. Also, if you are a female, I wouldn't recommend stopping here alone at night. read more

Great location right before getting into LA with 365 mph charing. We go in and out quick due to the fast charge before getting home to LA. There are places to shop and eat but we were here late at night around 10 pm. I highly recommend making a stop before of the 365 mph fast charge. read more

Went twice to this place.. first on our way to Las Vegas and second on the way back to California. Avoid this place if you are traveling late in the night or early dark hours. The charging spots are in a shopping plaza that looks completely deserted during non-business hours. Don't expect any of the shops in the plaza to be open during late hours. Didn't like the overall vibe of the place especially when you are the only car charging at this spot. read more
