Visited the Jackson Hole area in July of 2023. We decided to use TSS for a day tour of the Grand Teton park. We had a rather large group which we separated into two large vans. Vans were clean, air conditioned and have roof hatches for sightseeing. Our tour guides for the day were Kevin and Tyler. Both awesome, friendly, and full of knowledge of both the area and animals encountered. The tour provided us with a morning coffee and granola bars plus binoculars to use for the day. Of course there was plenty of beautiful sites but there was also tons of animals (check out my pics for some of the sites/animals). Definitely got our money worth. We stopped at Jackson Lake for lunch and ate sandwiches provided by TSS. Beautiful. If you're looking for a tour and in the area I highly recommend TSS. They picked us up at 6am and drop off was just after 2pm (at the hotel). Things went smooth and easy . Check them out. read more

My family (3 adults and 1 10 year old child) had the good fortune to take TWO expeditions with TSS. The first tour was the Grand Teton Family Wildlife Expedition. This was a half day tour that explored the Grand Teton National Park and surrounding areas. We saw all types of wildlife, but the highlight was viewing 2 separate packs of wolves! We understand this is a rare site and we were excited to view them! Our guide was Keith and he was the best! He engaged our 10 year old Grandson throughout the day and offered insight into the animals and habitats they lived in. He made the tour exciting, interesting and enlightening, offering information that none of us had ever known. I would highly recommend this tour ESPECIALLY if you have kids. It is a must do! The second tour we took was the Yellowstone Snow Coach Winter tour. This tour came the day after we took the above tour and we were afraid that there would be overlap in what we had seen the day before. Not a worry! This tour was twice the length (12 hours) of the previous tour and was completely different in scope and coverage. We saw wildlife we had never seen outside of a zoo (our favorites were the foxes and bison) as well as Old Faithful that is a must see (of course) if you visit Yellowstone. Our Guide was David and what an extremely knowledgeable guide he was! He told us about how Yellowstone was formed from volcanic eruptions over the years (something we did not know) and about the differences in how the geysers act, with some producing extremely hot water that can boil you to death and others that provide cooler water that the local animals can drink. He was able to engage our Grandson with tidbits of info about nature. This was a long tour but again, I would highly recommend this to anyone who has not visited Yellowstone. This was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint! We were fortunate to find the tours offered by TSS. The tours they offered were very professional and more importantly, made personal connections between us and the natural world around us. It is a great organization with professional staff that should be on anyones " to do" list, you won't be disappointed! read more

12/15/2020 - Yellowstone 12 hr tour with Jeff Mulligan. My hubby and I booked an all day tour and had a blast. Jeff took care of us the whole day with endless drinks , coffee, hot chocolate, snacks. He picked us up 630am and dropped us off 12 hours later. We had a breakfast burrito to go from Cowboy coffee and started our drive from Jackson through Grand Teton National Park to Flagg Ranch. We transfer from a van to a snow coach and headed up to Old Faithful. We got to see old Faithful in its glory! We also did a hike around the geysers and hot springs. We had many stops including west thumb, Lewis lake, Kepler cascade, Moose falls. Many photo opportunities throughout the whole trip. Jeff was very knowledgeable and explained the History of Jackson & grand Teton, Geology of rocks and trees The 1988 fires, Ecosystems, History of Yellowstone. My takeaway from the trip is all of our ecosystem is entwined and connected. If there is a small disruption in the food chain it can severely affect animals small to big. Unfortunately we didn't witness much animals on this trip. It was windy and snowy the whole day. It was expected to clear up but it didn't. We saw Trumpeter swans, 1 Bison, ravens, 1 Squirrel and a few Mountain chickadees. That's was it but it's nature and you never know what you will see. Today was just not one of those days. I don't discourage anybody, get out there in nature as much as you can because everyday is different. read more

My husband and I knew we couldn't miss the opportunity to see Yellowstone during a short trip to Jackson Hole. We booked a full day Scenic Driving Tour of Yellowstone with TSS and could not have been happier with our decision. We were able to see most of the Yellowstone bucket list locations during the 12 hour trip. Our guide was Casey. He was friendly, polite, engaging and above all, extremely knowledgeable about Yellowstone and the Tetons. Casey shared with us history of the park, facts about the wildlife and park features, and gave us terrific advice about how to spend the rest of our trip. Traveling at the end of October meant the park was quiet and we had no trouble seeing all the spots we were hoping to see. We can't say enough about Sarah and our amazing first tour and her first of the season. The other reviews are incredibly accurate. Sarah could pick out a beautiful wolf pack on one side of a ridge and then had us follow them to the other sIde in our comfortable Mercedes van. She helped us take wonderful photos and videos of the wolves and 4 elk sunning themselves on the side of a hillside. Each time we remarked, "how in the world did you see that". I could not imagine a wildlife expedition without the help and insight Sean gave the #ALEx14 American Latino Expedition group. He was so knowledgeable as well as patient. He answered all our questions and helped us when we all wanted to take pictures with all of our phones and cameras. He also blew us away with how quickly he could spot wildlife just driving down the road. My favorite moments of my entire trip were some of when Sean took us to his favorite spots in Yellowstone that were the less popular ways of the regular tourist pathways. We would have never found these spots on our own even though the signs were there. You just don't know how wonderful they are going to be. Bonus: he kept us all safe. Our family of six took a private Grand Teton Sunrise Tour with Sarah, and it was top notch! We saw a weasel, bull elk, mule deer, moose (including a calf), prong horn, bison (including calves), a hawk, and mountain climbers atop Teton. The Sprinter van with hatch roof openings was both comfortable and made for great wildlife views. Sarah navigated it expertly through the park. (An additional park entry fee for 'commercial' access was assessed on top of the park pass that we had already purchased, so do be prepared for that.) At stops, Sarah positioned telescopes for close-up views. We appreciated the beverages and snacks. And, the attention to safety, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. But, most of all, we enjoyed Sarah's narrating. She has an abundance of knowledge about the area and related to each member of our group, keeping us engaged the entire trip. We picked this option because it was a non-profit and the reviews were amazing. I was not disappointed. We had the option to pick some different animals we may see because animals are not always easy to find. We saw an amazing different variety of animals and even saw a couple hunting in action... well they were the fox so nothing to graphic but it was awesome. I have recommended this place to several friends who are visiting that area. Today we did the all day tour our guide Kevin Taylor was outstanding. He not only found us moose, bear, pronghorn and bison but he taught us a lot about the animals themselves. He also provided information about the birds we saw which included eagle, osprey, sandhill cranes, ducks and geese but also the plants and trees. I would highly recommend the all day tour to increase your chance of seeing wildlife because we weren't rushed to go from place to place we could stay a while and just soak in nature. Bobby is the best tour guide ever! Five of us took a private sunrise wildlife tour starting at 6am. Bobby took us north out of Jackson where we spotted and learned about all kinds of wildlife and nature - bison, pronghorn, coyote, wolf, hawks, ravens, aspen, cottonwood, and even two badgers! One of my favorite facts was about the way aspens reproduce - the seeds they produce are very unlikely to fall in the right conditions to sprout, so they mostly reproduce by pushing up new trees through their root systems! Bobby is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He easily answered all of our questions and kept us comfortable with snacks and drinks throughout the tour. In addition, he shared insightful personal perspectives about the environment and the way we see the world around us. I want to learn more from Bobby! read more

We visited Jackson Hole in December with our two kids (9 and 11). This tour was far above and beyond what we ever expected. It was amazing! Our guide knew all about the geography, animal life, botany, geological features, thermal features, native cultures, and more. It was like having 8 different scientists giving us a tour. We did the 1/2 day sunrise tour and thought it was great. Kevin was our tour guide. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable with his degrees in biology and botany. He was also good with kids. There were 7 of us on the tour so it was a nice small group. We saw lots of animals including a mama bear and her two cubs, a moose and her calf, lots of pronghorn including two fawns and an immature bald eagle. I recommend booking online. We saw almost no wildlife when hiking on our own but on Mark's tour he took us to a place where we saw wolf pups frolic for an hour near a lake. We also saw elk, bison, and deer. If you're going to spend the money to get all the way there to the Tetons, it's well worth spending a little more to get the whole experience by taking this tour. read more

My family and I did a private tour of Yellowstone with Teton Science School and had an amazing experience. Our guide, Jonathan, was a joy to be with and his excitement about the scenery, wildlife, and nature was absolutely infectious. We were able to see elk, moose, osprey, deer, bison and a few of us even caught glimpse of a wolf! Our tour was all day, so they also provided us with lunch. My family is vegetarian, and were a bit nervous about what we'd get, but we really shouldn't have been. The spread they had for us was plentiful with fresh fruit, avocado, cookies, hummus - I could go on and on and on. Needless to say we weren't hungry. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Yellowstone and Teton National Park with the Teton Science Center. You won't regret it. read more

This is the organization you want to take you on a wildlife tour. We took the 4 hour sunrise wildlife tour. Our guide, Sarah, was enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable, and ethical in her approach to the wildlife: she taught us how to know whether we were disturbing the wildlife and didn't let us get too close. At the same time, she helped me get some great pictures using my cell phone and her telescope. We saw bison, sheep, a bald eagle, mule deer, moose, some sage grouse, fox, coyote, swans, and thousands of elk. We had driven around for hours the day before and only spotted elk and a moose. When Sarah took us out, we realized that all those animals had been there in plain sight the whole time; we just didn't have the experience or knowledge to be able to see them. We learned so much! Sarah was especially great with our 7 year old daughter. She showed her mouse teeth in coyote scat and a clump of buffalo fur, and really knew how to talk to her. All proceeds from these tours go to the Science School, which gives kids and teachers the opportunity to experience and learn about nature. read more

We had a great experience on our 12-hour tour of Teton/Yellowstone National Park with our guide Erik. The tour begins at 6am and coffee was provided for us - which started the trip off great! If it wasn't for our guide, I don't think we would have seen half of the wildlife that we did during our expedition. We saw 2 bears, elk, moose, deer, bison, a bald eagle and an owl. Aside from the wildlife, our guide helped us better understand the science behind the National Park & wildlife, as well as explaining the history of everything. For lunch, we had a picnic in a quiet spot along the river. The tour provided sandwiches, fresh fruit, vegetables & hummus, and finally cookies for dessert! It was a perfect spot for a picnic and very well prepared! Erik centered the trip around what we wanted to see and what we wanted to do on the tour, which made for a wonderful and happy experience. If you think you can drive around on your own and view the same wildlife you'll see on an expedition, you are sadly mistaken. Our sojourn with biologist Jessie Stirling was worth every penny. We spotted 2 bears, moose, elk, an osprey, a great Grey Owl, a herd of buffalo and a pronghorn/antelope. Jessie set up scopes so we were able to get great views of the animals off in the distance as well as close-up photos. You may see some of these on your travels out and about but the likelihood of being able to drive and spot bears or birds off in the distance is negligible. This trip is worth every cent. read more

My family and I took the Yellowstone Lower Loop Tour that also included Teton National Park. It was a 12 hour day and started from our resort at 6 AM but was worth the time and costs for the tour. Maggie Jordan was an excellent guide and kept a wonderful pace on providing interesting historical and geological background and funny stories on Teton and Yellowstone. She was very thoughtful in engaging the family on our personal background and answering our myriad of questions. Our children are 23 and 25 years old and Maggie was able to keep them interested the entire day including sharing stories on the famous people in Jackson Hole. She also made sure we saw the wildlife in the parks including the elks and bison. Definitely recommend Wildlife Expeditions and Maggie if you only have one day to invest in a trip to Yellowstone. This is the most efficient way of hitting the highlights and hearing stories to help personalize the many sights we experienced. read more

Our tour with Jean Lawrence of the Teton Science School was fun, informative, exciting, and truly amazing. Jean knew just where to be to see pronghorn, elk, and bison - all with their new babies. We were able to get as close as safely possible. To enhance our sightings Jean, a biologist, and Kevin, a botanist, set up scopes to zero in on close-up views of the wildlife. We learned about the area's history as well as information about the flora and fauna. Since we were locating so many diverse animals and enjoying ourselves so much, our tour ran an hour longer than planned. This of course was with our permission and included gourmet treats when we became hungry. I highly recommend this very professionally run tour. read more

I've done 2 trips with Teton science school, one in the fall (fall elk, wolves, and bear) and one in the winter (grand canyon yellowstone). Both were fantastic. In the fall, we saw a wolf calling to its pack about 100 yards from us, it was magical to experience. In the winter we saw bison, birds, elk, and winter landscapes. I preferred the multiday trip to the single day trip, mostly bc it was less van time each day and more wildlife viewing. In the winter, on this particular tour, they can't really stop to view wildlife for long periods of time, nor can you stand outside for long periods of time bc it is so cold. So, if you want wildlife, you would be better off doing their winter day excursions to teton park, not yellowstone. That being said, seeing yellowstone was amazing on its own, just depends on your preference. The guides are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and responsive to guests needs. I will definitely return for their spring trip as well! read more
