We can't say enough about this tour. Morning started by getting a personal pick up at our hotel. Obviously Yellowstone in its own right is amazing. But to have someone as knowledgable, thoughtful, engaging, detail oriented, personable, genuine, and experienced as Duncan as a guide made the whole thing priceless. Not having to deal with finding parking and bathrooms was a big plus during the high season here in Yellowstone. Duncan made sure to tailor the day to what the group wanted, knew where to find wildlife, and ensured we were well fed (breakfast, lunch, snacks), watered (cold water), and comfortable throughout the entire 12 hours. We saw bison, elk, deer, pelicans, and a swainson's hawk. If you are on the fence between different tour companies, this is the one to choose for sure. We took a full day Yellowstone Lower Loop tour with Jeff. He picked us up at our hotel at dawn. We were the last to get on the van already filled with other merry travelers. What a fun day we had!! Jeff was so great about explaining things along the way and pointing out animals we might have missed. He is a wealth of knowledge having lived in the area for many years. Sierra was amazing! Knowledgeable and friendly and more than willing to do her best to make sure we had a great time and saw some wildlife. The breakfast burrito was a very pleasant and hearty surprise while the lunch hit the spot. The Oreos were a nice touch. Our trip to Grand Teton was awesome, the only regret was that we didn't have more time. I would really like to have explored the Jenny Lake area. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this tour company. We were on a three day tour previous to this one and the price for ONE day was the same as the three day tour with Yellowstone Guidelines (who were spectacular, highly recommend them). The guide, Kirby, on Yellowstone Day tours, wouldn't get out of the car, not even to take our picture he would drop us off and say I have to stay with the van "because of the air conditioning". He didn't share any kind of information about the area, but instead talked about his wife and personal life. The tour was supposed to be of the Tetons, but instead we just drove by the Tetons not even close to the mountains. Then he took us to an employee cafeteria at a hotel for lunch (the lunches that they offered to bring, asked us what we wanted, they didn't even get the sandwiches right). He seemed to want to pass up a lot of stuff, and would say well we don't want to go there it's too busy. I had made it clear to the people I booked it with that we were traveling with were elderly and would need assistance in and out of the van. He did not ever leave the car. He would pass up sights and just point them out as we drove by. So hugely disappointed when one day cost us $2500 for 5 people. What a waste of a day on our very short trip to Yellowstone. Don't waste your money or time.. read more

Booked a half day tour of Grand Teton National Park which did not fill up so operator offered to put us on whole day tour. We had a wonderful experience with our guide and the other guests on tour. Binoculars were provided & a scope set up for viewing animals from a distance. We saw loads of bison, elk, a few moose, mule deer and coyotes. The scenic views in the Tetons are phenomenal & our guide offered to take pics of us. Due to gov't shutdown the visitor centers were closed but Eddie found us bathrooms during the trip. Pleasant little hike at Jenny Lake to stretch the legs. Sandwich lunch & waters were provided. I recently was notified of a partial refund which I assume was because the parks were not collecting entrance fees. Fun day! read more

Our tour of Yellowstone was informative and fun. We saw so much in the lower loop from 7:30-5:30. Driving without a tour guide would not have been nearly as fun or interesting. I would highly recommend this tour read more

Mixed review. Brian, the owner, took us to see elk, which are easy to find, but as the afternoon went on, he kept saying, Well, they are usually out early in the morning, not this time of day. We basically just drove around trying to find something to see. A suggestion would be to let folks know that afternoon tours will see a lot less than the morning tour. Kept hearing what the earlier tour had seen, what we were missing. Our group spotted an eagle, but overall we spent $185 to ride around in a van for 3+ hours. He did have a powerful binocular on a stand that he took out when we did stop so we could try and see something that was far away. He also said he would share photos he took, but I never received any. I did appreciate hearing the stories and historical facts about Jackson as we drove around. Nice clean van, and water is offered. If you are going to sign up with this tour company, then try to reserve a spot in the morning. read more

Jeff was our tour guide, and hands down, THE BEST guide I've ever encountered. He was a treasure trove of useful, entertaining information - not only about the extensive, local wildlife & terrain, but also about the history of the area, best places in town to visit and eat, and so much more. I had a wonderful time. Brian the tour guy was so helpful. I learned a lot about the local wildlife and the history of the area. Also, the airline had lost my luggage and rain lined me a jacket and snow boots so I could be warm on the tour. Very much appreciated and I will have to go back for the summer tour sometime. We took a sunset tour in the Grand Tetons last night with Sierra and the entire experience was excellent. Sierra has a ton of knowledge and was a great driver, a tour guide, and more. We each got our own set of binoculars and she set up a high-powered telescope when we saw wildlife. The van was comfortable, we enjoyed the dinner they provided and highly recommend this tour. read more

I toured with this company in 2025. I would not recommend this tour company to anyone. The vehicles were dirty. Crumbs on seats. Old food under seats. Duct tape on seats. Seat belts that don't work. Dents on exterior of vans. Some food days old. Obviously there is a cleaning issue. Guides must not know how to back up or stay away from objects on the side of vehicles while driving. Duct tape used on exterior of vehicles as well painted over. An intercom that screeches while in use. Very annoying. Vehicles break down. One vehicle, the brakes locked up for an hour in the middle of a national park street. Very embarrassing. This happened more than once with different guides. One guide was angry because the tires were bald and the tour was in Yellowstone when it was icy up there. Another guide feared for her life before she even began the tour saying the brakes didn't work properly. Our guide felt bad for her. A windshield wiper blade flew off one of the vans immediately upon use. Probably left like that by a previous guide. Sinister, to say the least. The vans apparently aren't washed regularly. The owner consistently blames the guides on everything when obviously the vehicles are poorly maintained. They do lease a few newer vehicles but still run ones with high mileage. The vans are not 4-wheel drive, so safety is diminished under wet, snowy or icy conditions. The coolers were always dirty on the outside and wet crumbs on the inside from the day before. There are no snacks, cheap water, no other drinks, no hot drinks...just cheap water. The tour is expensive, so one would think these things amenities would be offered like other companies do. The guides never get paid on time. One guide had a bank letter stating his paycheck was being withheld because there was reason the check would not clear. Those were the letter's exact words. One guide brought the clients to a bear, was well within the safety distance and was chased by the bear, ripping the inseam of his jeans. While on tour, he had to purchase a new pair of pants. A lame shuttle and hike is provided to Hidden Falls in Grand Teton NP. The crowds are so steep, the time to complete all of that could take up to two to three hours, much of it waiting to get on the shuttle. There is a lot of turnover with this company. Probably because of the things mentioned above including an overbearing owner. Because of paying too much for what you are receiving and the fact that safety is not a priority, I would have to say...find another company. There are many better ones that make u feel more comfortable. And that is why I rate this company so low. I don't know what else to tell u. I am astonished this company passed any DOT inspection. read more

We did have a rainy day but Dan made sure to show us all the great photo spots to come back to in the sun. Sierra was a Wonderful guide for the day in the Tetons. She knew exactly where to go to see the wildlife based on her real-time communication with other guides and shared her photos thru her spotting scope of the black bear and hugest Moose we saw. Loved the small group experience and covered a lot of beautiful areas of the park. The boat ride across Jenny Lake was the best! The hike was invigorating with the freshest air - the altitude kicked my butt tho coming from the flat East coast. 5 stars !! read more

It was a great day in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons with our guide Chance. After driving 8 hours from Denver the day before, what a relief to let someone else do the driving through the parks. We saw an amazing variety of animals - 7 grizzlies - moose - elk - bison. The geothermal parts were facinating, and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and the falls were worth seeing. Chance filled the driving time with interesting stories about the people who discovered Yellowstone, how the park was laid out, and previous tours he had led. Four of us contracted for private tours by Yellowstone Day Tours last week. First day, Jeff took us for a sunset tour of the Grand Tetons from about 3pm to 9pm. The Tetons were magnificent, and Jeff paid special attention to what we wanted to do and see. He gladly set his spotting scope so we could watch wildlife even better than with the tour-provided binoculars. He was a wealth of information about the mountains. He unexpectedly suggested we sit in the van after dark for a while and listen to the elk calls. Amazing! That was a special treat. We just loved the tour! And we have fantastic photos of the sunset. Second day, a full one, from 6:30am to 9pm, we were guided in Lower Yellowstone by Dan, also a fantastic guide. He knew exactly where to go for the best views. He also considered our personal comfort and expectations and he answered a lot of our questions. Dan was also a very good photographer and knew how to stage photo shots to the best advantage. He taught us a few camera (iPhone) tricks, too. He chose a perfect spot for our picnic. Besides all that, Dan turned out to be one of the best drivers I've ever had. It rained on and off through the day, but we had some unusual weather occurrences on our way back to Jackson. During a hailstorm, a driver ahead of us slid across the curvy mountain road and was stopped, thankfully, by a chain barrier that separated the road from the cliff! Dan did well although the road was slick. It gets VERY dark out there, and later we had a lightning and thunderstorm which was terrifying to us, and Dan got us back to the hotel Just fine. Driving was tense at times, but Dan did a great job as a tour guide as well as a driver. read more

On Monday, August 12, 2024, we took the Yellowstone National Park Lower Loop Tour provided by Yellowstone Days Tours. We chose this company over others, as it was the only one that would pick us up at our hotel, Jackson Lake Lodge, and its itinerary seemed more relaxed and casual than that of other tours. We were two seniors travelling with a grandchild, and not looking for an aggressive experience involving more speed and more hiking. Our guides were Duncan and Kelli, a knowledgeable couple who provided a very comfortable but extremely informative experience. It was most appreciated that some of the rest stops were at the elegant Lake Hotel and Old Faithful Inn, which offered a great counterpoint to the wonderful scenes of nature offered by this part of our country. My husband and I went on a 12 hr day tour. Our guides were Jeff and Tracy. From the moment we took our seats we were pampered. My husband is tall and we were able to take seats at the back of the bus and he was comfortable. After we took our seats here comes Tracy with cold bottled water and a delicious HOT breakfast burrito. There were 16 of us on the bus and Jeff was able to keep us informed and fit our needs of shopping, bathroom stops, animals and breathtaking sights. Jeff kept a banter that was full of humor, fun filled facts, interesting park facts and engaged each of us on the bus. A well balanced lunch was served and very good. Cold water was always available. Our guides knew where to take us to see the wildlife. Jeff was always willing to back up or complete U-turns so we could all get the pictures we needed. This is appreciated as I had friends who visited Yellowstone a few weeks earlier and they didn't hire a guide. I also want to add as we left Jackson Hole we saw two Moose in the river we checked out the night before. Jeff, we also saw a Moose grazing on the mountain on our way home! I just had to share this! Wow! Looking to do something in the morning while visiting the Jackson Hole area, Yellowstone Day Tours is the choice. We spent half a day with our guide, Sierra, learning about the park and seeing Bison, Elk, Pronghorn, and Moose. Not bad for 5 hours. Breakfast was great and the entire process for booking was flawless. Sierra made sure all guests had a chance to view the wildlife and accommodated requests to see landmarks. We took the Yellowstone tour and the Grand Teton tour. I can't help but lead with the fact that we didn't see a single animal on the GT tour. We did see a few on the Yellowstone tour. On the plus side, the guides were very friendly, the rides were comfortable, and the meals were fine. I appreciate not having to look for parking and not having to deal with navigating, especially without cell coverage. Overall, we enjoyed the tours but were a bit disappointed with not seeing wildlife. I know the guides cannot force animals to appear, but I expected there would be more of an attempt to go to known spots rather than the main highway. read more
