Just finished my second 4-day BrushBuck Wildlife Tour in the Tetons & Yellowstone. OUTSTANDING tour guide, Kevin, made the trip FANTASTIC!! He was so knowdgeable about the area having lived there his entire life. Taught us so much history, info on the wildlife, plants, etc. We saw so much wildlife including see Grizzly 610 & her cubs 2ce!! Saw 13 bears ( Grizzly, black, & brown black bears), tons of bison & calves, moose, fox, coyote, wolves, elk, pronghorns, bald eagles, harlequin ducks, magpies, American white pelicans, mule deer, Sandhill cranes. He really knows both national parks & where to find the wildlife. Love that he took us out early mornings & at dusk when the animals were more active. I completed a tour in the Jackson/Teton area in the morning. The guide was very kind and offered some details about the area, which was appreciated. Sadly, we didn't spot much. Luckily we did spot a moose at the very end, which was exciting. It's all up to chance and a ton of different factors play a role in what's out and about! I did the Yellowstone, Old Faithful, Waterfalls and Wildlife Day Tour from Jackson Hole with guide Rachel. Absolutely awesome experience, I wish I coulo rate it higher than 5 stars. Rachel was friendly and informative. Not only did we see the breathtaking scenery of the Grand Teton and Yellowstone parks, but we saw an abundance of wildlife as well, including mule deer, bald eagles, elk, moose, wolves, and FIVE grizzly bears, including two cubs! If it's within your budget, I would definitely recommend taking a tour with Brush Buck. Our guide, Grant, was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about Yellowstone and the surrounding area. He was also incredibly patient with our rambunctious kids, which made the experience much more enjoyable for our family. The kids enjoyed the generous snacks, which included chips, bars, and fruit snacks. Sodas and bottled water were also plentiful. Lunch was simple, but what more do you really need than some lunchmeat, cheese, condiments, and bread when you're surrounded by nature? (I will say that the amount of trash our lunch produced was surprising, considering we were spending the day in a national park. Everything was packaged in disposable containers--which understandably makes for easy serving and portability.) We enjoyed having access to our own set of binoculars and a scope to share to help spot wildlife. Overall, the tour provided excellent guiding and was well organized, comfortable, and family-friendly. read more

We had high hopes based on the reviews. Baffling how many positive reviews there are. We understand there is no guarantee to see wildlife. First, let's start with the open air vehicle. It was like someone through some parts together in their backyard on top of a pick-up truck, to call it a safari vehicle. Obstructed views everywhere, especially if you are tall. On their website, it states there will be closed vehicles if there is inclement weather. We were poured on and soaking wet for four hours. Everyone in our vehicle was cold and miserable the entire time. It was so bad that we nearly took an Uber to leave the tour. No closed vehicle was provided by the company. They did offer to put down the shades, which would have meant no view at all. What a complete joke. Kevin, our guide, spent half the time pulling over on the side of the road and telling stories about the history of the land. We saw zero wildlife except one deer and two swans the entire ride. We were provided with a few small bags of chips as "snacks" even though this was a four hour ride at dinner time. Our family is sad and disappointed that this was how we spent our last night in Jackson. We feel this company is a total scam out to get people's money. We spent almost $700 for our family of four. Beware, if you have kids, this is mostly a tour for elderly folks. We would have had better scenery and wildlife views in our rental car. Complete waste of time and money, especially for what they charge! We will not be recommending Brushbuck to anyone! The company needs to do better. read more

My husband and I recently visited Jackson, WY, which was our first time in the area. When we found out that Grand Teton National Park and elk reserve were right in our backyard, we booked a Grand Teton tour through the Get Your Guide App. We reserved our spots for the half-day "safari" tour that started at 7:30am. Bonus points for pickup from and drop-off to our hotel in Jackson. Prior to the tour day, BrushBuck Wildlife Tours called me to confirm my reservation details and answer any questions I had around logistics of the day. Since it was the middle of the winter, we were in a heated van. Our tour guide from today was Ted, and he was awesome. He was friendly, personable, and highly knowledgeable of the flora and fauna of the area. He impressed me by the facts he knew, and he didn't not have an answer for all our questions. He also had a good eye and spotted wildlife off in the distance, and he would genuinely be as excited as we were seeing the animals. We saw coyotes, a wolf, elk, bison, moose, and bighorn sheep. Ted had a magnifying scope that connected to his phone, so he took these amazing closeups of the animals for us and sent the pictures within 24 hours after the tour. I would highly recommend this tour, which was like a fun scavenger hunt in Grand Teton. read more

So much fun! These safari tours are such a great way to get to know national parks. It gives you an opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife while enjoying the views of the surrounding landscape. Plus I love anything that has to do with nature and wildlife. I booked a four-hour morning tour with BrushBuck during my stay here at Grand Teton National Park. We got to ride around in an open-air vehicle while our guide shared loads information about the park. BrushBuck provides drinks, snacks, a blanket and binoculars on these tours. I have been on an African safari and this tour brought back some fun memories of that trip. We saw pronghorn antelope, elk, moose and a bear. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and even added a little humor. The backdrop of the Teton Range made it such a memorable morning. Spend almost 13 hours with Kyle while we did the Yellowstone lower loop tour. The van was in perfect condition and big. I sat in the front passenger seat and we had 4 other people. 2 couples. Everyone was friendly and excited to start the day of touring the Teton and Yellowstone parks. Kyle made the trip! He knew everything from Owls heads to the geyser's bacteria. He must be a genius because how someone could know and retain so much info is beyond me. We saw moose, a grizzle, some type of giraffe relative deer creature, all sorts of birds and elk and just a ton of wild life. We got an amazing education on geysers and saw some huge geysers erupt. The tour was comfortable, we stopped for coffee and gifts and lots of bathroom breaks when needed. We had a great picnic lunch at a cute spot. I could not have asked for a better tour and tour guide. read more

OUTSTANDING tour. We booked a private wildlife tour with BrushBuck. Our guide, Pat, was very knowledgeable and professional- And knew where to go to find the animals! My daughter is OBSESSED with wolves, and we told the guide that that was our #1 priority. He informed us that, with only 132 wolves on 2.2 million acres, and it also being a little later in the day, it might be tough but he'd do his best. Not only did we see a wolf- we saw two of them- and they were actively hunting a nursery herd of bison. It is one of the most incredible things I have ever gotten to see- and something that will be stuck in our daughters memory for the rest of her life. We also saw a Grizzly bear, several black bears, a TON of bison, pronghorns, elk, deer- Just about everything that could be seen. It was well worth it, had we been on our own I doubt that we'd have seen 1/2 of what we saw, and we certainly wouldn't have seen wolves. The tour itself was in an almost brand new, and very comfortable, Tahoe. The provided meal was just sandwiches and fruit, but it was more than adequate. They also provide drinks and snacks for the trip, and you are also welcome to bring your own. This tour wasn't inexpensive, but it was worth every penny! read more

As a part of our package we went on the sunrise wildlife tour of Grand Teton park. Even though it was on an open air jeep/truck and was freezing, there was no shortage of blankets to keep you cozy. Our guides were determined to show us as much as possible. They even went the extra mile and found us a mama bear and her two cubs. The park itself is gorgeous, as are the outlying areas. They gave us a good amount of history as well. Snacks and water were plentiful. The 4 hour tour went by fast. Even though it was early, I think we were able to see some amazing things that I'm not sure we'd see otherwise. What an absolutely amazing experience we had! Our family of 6 which included Nana and Papa, mom and dad and 11 year old twins, spent a week in late December/early January on a Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks tour. We had an absolutely fantastic time from beginning to end. It all went so perfectly because our guide Dallin was the best! He was super easy to get along with, personable and knowledgeable. He took time to make life fun for our kids even getting us sledding innertubes and finding us areas for our kids to escape the van and get some sledding in. He found the things for families to do and knew just what would make everyone happy. Including a trip to the Jackalope Hot spot. Heehee. He knew we had a vegetarian with us and made sure lunch stops had food for everyone. We had fabulous experience seeing wildlife and learned a lot about the history and geology of the area. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and I'm taking away some fantastic memories for life! Some highlights include seeing frost covered moose, hiking to the petroglyphs alongside a small band of bighorn sheep, a snow coach through Yellowstone to see Beehive and Old Faithful geysers erupt, watching an eagle eat a dead beaver, and of course the absolutely breathtaking Grand Tetons and the mud pots and geysers and springs of Yellowstone. I did the 7-day Kenya and Tanzania tour. It was amazing -we saw 30 lions in less than 24 hours! One thing that distinguishes Brushbuck is the highly trained American guide in addition to the local guide. Thanks to Adam for spotting amazing wildlife and his in-depth knowledge of African animals. And thanks to Andrew for his remarkable photos and his fun facts about animal private parts. 12/16/2020 - Winter Wonderland 8hr tour with Sarah. Amazing!! So much wildlife sightings. Sarah picked us up at 730am for our Grand Teton/Natural Elk Refuge tour. Sarah is a retired school teacher from Michigan and because of her love for teaching, history and wildlife, she starting working at Brushback. The whole day was planned out just perfect. We spent the early morning the first few hours locating wildlife in Grand Teton. We saw so much including: Osprey nest, Trumpeter swans, Ravens, Birds, Mule deers, 17 Mooses, 18 bisons, Coyote, Ducks, Swans 1 Bald eagle, 2 dozen Big horn sheeps!! Sarah had binoculars for my husband and I but my favorite was her scope!! Her scope can capture so much wildlife up closely and clearly. We took some photos from the scope (see attached). We had an early lunch at Palate restaurant inside the Wildlife museum (amazing see my other review). The second half of the day was our sleigh ride through the Natural Elk Refuge where we got to see a bunch of elks. Not enough snow or elks but we got up close and was able to get great photos. Our last part of the tour was going to look for Bighorn sheep's and we saw a few dozens. Sarah took us through many sights including: Kelly warm spring, Black tail butte, Mormon cabins, Cunningham cabin and Snake river overlook. She told us about the Oxbows along the snake river, geology of the mountains, earthquakes and shared many stories of the early settlers in Jackson including the ranchers, Indians, etc. She gave us some history books to read up on Jackson as well as a movie about National Parks. My girlfriend booked the tour with BrushBuck Wildlife Tours for us on our trip around Yellowstone. We had Kelsey as our guide and she was amazing! I've never had a tour guide like Kelsey. She is informative, entertaining, and knows her way around Grand Teton National Park. We booked for a group tour, but because it was on the off season, we were the only tourists on board so it made the tour more personal. We told Kelsey we were more interested in wildlife so she did her best to be on the lookout for us to spot. We ended up seeing a fox, coyote, moose, elk, a juvenile bald eagle, and a bighorn sheep. We did the half day tour with driver Marcus and guide Patrick. What a wonderful experience! They made an awesome team with Marcus at the wheel and setting up the scope when we stopped. He was also excellent at spotting wildlife. Patrick's knowledge is unmatched. And believe me- my ten year old asked A MILLION questions. Patrick knew not only everything about the wildlife, ecology, botany and conservation status/ challenges faced by each animal/ ecosystem, but could also answer any questions you might have about the area, cultures, native Americans, etc. we saw black bear, moose, bald eagle, herons, bison, pronghorn, elk, so many things.
