Since we were on the road we were going to need a car to use while my car was being repaired. I Checked all the car rental companies in the area and their websites and there were no cars available. They must have all been in Yellowstone. So I learned that Teton Toyota in Idaho Falls rented cars. I called them they had a car available. Rented the car for 3 days at a reasonable rate. When I brought the car back their shuttle took me to the repair shop to pick up my repaired vehicle. Great service all the way around. If you text and inquire about exact VIN or inventory number, nobody gives you a precise answer. If you call and ask Gabbie she will tell you they still have it, if you ask Chad he would tell you that this very exact vehicle they donated to some High School raffle event. Would be interesting to read in local press like in East Idaho News about the lucky winner, however same very vehicle is still listed on their web resource with the same attractive price week after week. The goal is to make an appointment and get you in, I do reside 90 miles away and I am very glad that just based on this alone I chose to spend my time much wiser. Bought my new Tundra here in May 2025. I bought virtually before getting to town. The overall experience from the sales team was ok, but spotty communication which being 1,000 miles away was frustrating. When I was transferred to the sales associate (Tammi) that delivers the vehicle the communication definitely improved and she was very responsive. I had some parts installed while I was waiting to get to town and the accessories department (Allie) was exceptional with her assistance and communication. Unfortunately the service department has not quite hot the mark. When you arrive there is no one greeting you, there is no real idea where to go and is very confusing. I was surprised that at my first 5k service they did not change the oil with the amount of engine failures and recalls these trucks are having. I came back two weeks after receiving the truck and purchase some more accessories from the dealership. I scheduled the date to have them installed, when I came in for my appointment the service department told me when I got there that accessories department needed to take in my truck, the accessories department said service needed to take it. No one knew what was going on and that seemed to be the overall consensus of the service team. Overall my takeaway with the dealership is their follow through and communication with their customers. Some of their staff were spot on while others dropped the ball. Communication is a key, over price in my opinion. I will still have my truck serviced there as i believe their staff are very competent, highly trained and do quality work. read more

I bought a Volkswagen Taos car with my wife on 05/11/2025. My wife drove 15 miles and then there was an engine error. We brought the car back to Teton Volkswagen and asked to change it to the same car. They told us well and changed it, but we had to pay another 1,120 dollars. It turns out that they sold the broken car and then billed 1,120 dollars for a replacement for the same one. It's just some kind of deception. Absolutely disgusting every time my wife brings her vehicle in to be serviced within a week and a half to two weeks later there's another issue and then we're expected to pay out of pocket for these expenses are we constantly get the runaround on what's actually going on this time the vehicle was brought in and they were told and made aware of what the issue is and the part they want to order is not even the correct part that it needs this is the second vehicle that she has dealt with with them she had one prior having transmission issues she told them multiple times about this and they wanted to wait and wait and wait until the transmission finally gave out before they found the problem I think it's very sad it's frustrating considering it is a family vehicle and all they care about is getting their money nothing else not helping the customer not being honest about repairs or service time or anything like that read more

Purchased a 2008 Lexus SC430 from Bryson Hernandez and Luis Rosas of Teton over the phone. I was promised that that car was blemish free and even requested a walk around video of the car. When the car arrived all four wheels were curbed, the antenna was broken, the hood needs to be repainted as there are so many rock chips and there are scrapes on the front and rear bumpers. I politely asked the dealership to correct these issues and their response was "you bought a used car, and the damage was done by the transport company. This is and first and last purchase from Teton Toyota. I am a single vehicle owner that Teton Toyota has put out on the streets in a vehicle that has what most call a death wobble. When at highway speeds if you hit a chuck hole or even a bridge joint. It also has a warning light on that they failed to correct when they had the vehicle in for analysis. The death wobble they contributed to a parts recall. Be advised I purchased all their add-ons including rental car. They have now informed me the policy will only cover one day. The one question that I was asked by Andrea what my favorite car I ever owned. When I told her I had 2 Hummers she mentioned to Dalton & Aiden did you show her the Land Cruiser? When they asked black or white for color, I chose black, next thing we know we are taking a test drive. I did not even put it in gear when I knew I had to have this car, yet I played it cool don't let them know you want it but I was sweating bullets. Came and back to the dealership and of course I am trying to stay cool but man I wanted this vehicle and I really needed to get back to work! Andrea went over numbers with me and it was higher than where I wanted to be so I really wanted to think about it on my way back to work. This is the first dealership that was NOT PUSHY. After not hearing from them at about 3 hours I called. I was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. They came and pick me up by shuttle. It has been almost 2 hours since I called. I'm still sitting at the dealership waiting and it is not finished. They refused to do anything to make this right except the offer to shuttle me home again. Looking for a car is just as hard as looking for a home. I finally got the time to write a review. So my car after 20 years decided to go out on me one day. After much research and being able to search through the car dealerships, I finally decided to swing by and test drive a few. I was introduced to Andrea and she went beyond the extra mile during the entire process. She took the time to have me test drive what was within my limit. After test driving the cars I had decided to wait a couple of days since I was extremely picky. The day after I test drove, I continued to search and ended up coming back as I had 3 that I wanted to test drive. One of them was not there, but I was given the chance to drive 2. Since I already had a taste of driving a Volkswagen beforehand, I decided to test out the Jetta. The Jetta that I chose surprisingly had low mileage and looked fairly brand new. Although the car had some bells and whistles, I decided to get the car since I literally spending a lot just to get around. At some point, it came down to reliability and understanding again sometimes you have to make sacrifices. It has been 4 months and I love it. The smoothest car and a huge gas saver for me now that I live elsewhere. I also thank Andrea for the time and patience to get me the car I wanted. I took my Toyota Tundra 2005 to these jokers on 3 February 2023 for major service. They replaced my rear differential oil with the incorrect oil type and I immediately began hearing noises that I couldn't quite place when I turned the wheel while driving - I initially suspected a rock in my calipers, as it was a very similar sound to what one would expect from that occurring. I finally took it to Gresham Toyota in Gresham, Oregon where my family lives and they let me know that Teton Toyota had screwed up. Gresham Toyota replaced the oil with the correct formulation, but they let me know there had likely been damage done to my differential - I will be taking Teton Toyota to court if indeed my differential goes bust anytime soon. To be fair Teton Toyota did refund me the cost of the work they did - but the damage is probably already done. And now, today, I am getting some front end work done here at Les Schwab in Idaho Falls and the tires need to be removed to do the work. Well, my wheel lock lugnut is now missing - guess who last took tires off the vehicle and didn't put the lugnut lock back...Teton Toyota. This is NOT what one would expect from a certified Toyota dealership!! Sorry, to say, but I'll never return to this place - pretty serious incompetence in their service department. read more

There was a Prius listed at Teton Toyota that I looked at and test drove. The salesman I worked with was named Brady. Super cool guy, low pressure, and seemingly trustworthy. The problem I experienced was with the appraiser who test drove my potential trade in. It was pouring rain when he drove it and daylight was waning. I came back the next day to finish the paperwork and found out that they only valued my 2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid at $7000. I had checked KBB and NADA and the range of values for trade in were from $11,000 -$13,000. I think the appraiser was named RJ and when asked why their offer was so low he said it was because my car had too much rust and needed a new windshield. There is literally a 2" spot on the edge of the door near the handle that is only cosmetic and definitely not worthy of a beat down on value. I agree with him on the windshield as it has about 4 chips. I was so offended by the lowball price that I will not be doing business with this company in the future. Brady was awesome, while RJ was cool at first but showed his true scumminess with his insulting appraisal. There are too many options out there when considering a vehicle purchase. I am very disappointed in this company. I bought a 2017 Tundra brand new. Bought extras from them etc. Well I did something simple I thought. I went for oil change and service, and get a head light replaced. They took off my skid pan off with out asking or telling me. Even when I paid, they didn't even mention it! I found it in back of my truck on way home. When I called no one returned my call. I had to call 3 times! The didn't apologize or do anything to make it right. I had to have local mechanic put a new one on. Then the 1st time I use my truck at night, I find out that I don't have any low beams! When I brought it there I at least had 1 working head light! Bought a Toyota, brand new 18 miles off the lot. High pressure sell, of all the extras, to an elderly women with poor credit. This car has never been quite right. Argued with Teton Toyota several times over the last six years of this cars warranty. Stranded elderly women in Salt Lake downtown traffic. With no way for her to get the car to move (keyless ignition, anti-theft). Last year Teton Toyota had to change out the vehicles battery. At which time they said they'd change the oil. Check the air and cabin filter. Fix a passenger tail light. Was informed then, if it was trickle charged during the winter months that should solve the battery dying/car starting problem!? Let's just say it didn't fix the battery dying/car starting problem. The six year warranty expired March of this year (2024). After being winterized, garage kept, trickle charged all winter. The Toyota did what it has done the last six years, it still didn't start. Called Teton Toyota, upset as this is the same problem the car has had the whole time, SINCE BOUGHT!! Well if I'd like, I could have it towed and they could try to diagnosis the problem (on my dime, now of course). I elected to take it to a mechanic shop I trust. Let's just say TETON TOYOTA isn't a reputable place to have a vehicle worked on!! And unless you need gaurnteed credit, not sure I'd trust any of the sales managers. Not really clear on when/if oil has ever been changed as claimed. Air/cabin filter wasn't changed, sure hasn't ever been replaced or checked. Tail light wasn't fixed. Battery was changed, but warning light that's always came on when this issue has happened was on, per usual(believe now, that this has just been reset and ignored). FOR THE LAST SIX YEARS!!! And who wants to drive a car if you have to worry about it starting/staying running properly?? And look at the mileage on this car. Yes, it has acquired 6,661 miles in the last 6 years. Take note of the engine oil color, this is a full synthetic?! You've been warned. I'm just glad there is at least some mechanic shops out there you can trust!!! read more

Careful with these guys! I was asked to leave a deposit for a vehicle I was told it's fully refundable. After a few days the deal couldn't be made. I asked for my deposit back and was told it's no longer refundable because the sales person needs to get paid! I showed them the deposit paper receipt and asked for them to show me where it shows my money isn't refundable and that if a deal doesn't get made the sales person gets the money. Because my car was wrecked I was in a rental for several months before my insurance decided what it was doing. The rental car I had was a rav 4, and I really liked it so I decided to start my car search by looking for them. I reached out to Teton toyota because their website kept saying server error and timing out. Then mindy reached out to me. I spoke to her a few times, and she for sure put the pressure on. I'm living as a single mom because my husband is stationed oconus, and I just had a foot procedure done. When I told Mindy I wasn't able to come to the lot that day I felt immense pressure to go. When I tried to explain I couldn't balance my daughter and test drives she kept telling me they had an area for kids. When the website still wasn't loading correctly she tried to tell me it was fine for her. When the time got closer to me actually purchasing a car I went in, and specifically told them I did not want to work with her. The upfront I asked if their after market warranty was good in Hawaii, and I was told no, so I left; because that's the next place we will be moving. Mindy reached out to me again and I told her what was said, and she said that was wrong. The guy I was working with had brought who he said was the warranty manager over; and that manager is who told me no. Mindy said she had never heard of the warranty issue and it was wrong, and she didn't know who I was talking about. Someone in this situation was dishonest with me, and I don't know which of the three it was, but I don't beg people to take my money, and I certainly don't spend car money for them to treat me like a fool. Mechanics here twice misdiagnosed my 4Runner's issues, both times at substantial cost to me. First, I was told it needed new front struts (~$450). It actually needed only new sway bar bushings, which I installed myself for $30. Second time, they said it needed a new catalytic converter. The problem actually was a failing fuel pump, which I also diagnosed and had a different shop replace. So I have to conclude the techs here are incompetent at troubleshooting, relying too heavily on digital trouble-code readers instead of research, knowledge and experience. I bought a certified vehicle from Teton Toyota thinking they wouldn't certify a vehicle without first inspecting it. I got the truck home and checked the air filter and it was very dirty....almost clogged. Then I checked the cabin filter...it was also almost clogged. So I had to buy these filters in a new to me vehicle that was "certified". Also, from day one the vehicle was slightly out of alignment. I took it back the next week to have it aligned and they said they'd fix it no problems. Guess what? It's still pulling to the right. I'll have to take it to a tire shop where they know what they're doing to get it aligned...on my own time and money. I don't trust Teton Toyota any farther than I can throw a car. All they want is your money. I'll never buy another car from them and can't trust their mechanics either for simple repairs. read more

The ever pleasant massive herd of employees meandering with nothing to do are quick to get you waiting for days to constantly ask for more and more documentation. Unfortunately when you are well informed and do your research to present the question to sales as to why a car that was sold at Wackerli for $23,000 new was suddenly increased to $25,795 (12.2%) after they did and oil change, resurface of the rotors, replaced the brake pads, and windshield wipers...they stop responding to you and send you a template email basically telling you to screw off. Most folk do not use the resources that Teton Toyota use themselves to get informed, customer service should not be like getting a lobotomy with no anesthesia. I spoke with no less than 12 people who told me all different information and lies, when they get called out they stop responding...if you pay that many people obviously your vehicles are always overpriced. read more

My truck needed service so I made an appointment to do so. The morning of (6am) I called to let them I was on my way and was going to leave my truck there being 2 hours away from home. They knew this but didn't tell me I needed to make a car rental reservation. I get there and they basically told me I was out of luck. My insurance and warranty covers car rentals with Toyota. I was forced to get a rental elsewhere. I was told I could get reimbursed for the car rental. After waiting a week I got my truck back and was told I would be taken care of after giving them the receipt to my rental. 3 months passed and they "lost" my paperwork. If you literally have ANYWHERE else to go to for a dealership... do so, don't trust these guys/girls. Their professionalism is so awful. Be warned. read more

My son was sold a used car, with a documented safety recall from the manufacturer; at a ridiculous price with 19.5% interest rate. When the car developed problems within hours of him driving it off the lot and then totally dying with a day and a half Teton Toyota refused to return the car unless my son bought a brand new car from them. We fought with the sales team for six hours until we got them down to a still lousy 8.9% interest rate. The only positive about the experience was dealing with the finance officer who went out of his way to throw in extra stuff for my sons purchase.
