From my very first initial contact, the staff was quick to respond, was warm, professional, and so patient in answering every question. They explained the entire process in plain language so I felt informed and comfortable before even stepping foot in the office. When I came in for my consultation, Dr. Rivers was just as kind, personable, and friendly as everyone had described. He walked me through the different vision correction options, explained the pros and cons of each, and made recommendations based on my needs -- without ever making me feel pressured. I ended up choosing the SMILE procedure, which was offered at a flat, affordable cost for both eyes (no hidden fees or "per eye" surprises that I was seeing everywhere). The procedure itself was fast and smooth. Dr. Rivers has such a calming presence he talked me through every step, making sure I was comfortable and fear-free. There's even a waiting area where your family or friends can watch the procedure if they'd like, which I thought was a cool touch. I noticed a difference in my vision immediately after the procedure -- I could read the time on the digital clock in the wall right away! By the next day, my vision was perfectly clear. They sent me home with everything I needed: eyedrops for moisture, antibiotic drops, sunglasses, coupons!!! and clear instructions for aftercare. I experienced only minimal discomfort in the days following. The office is beautiful!!! It's modern, great views, clean, and spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating. The location is super convenient, and I loved that there was garage parking with an exterior door that led directly into their office (no awkward walking around a building post-procedure!). I only found out by making repeated calls to the office. But then the real nightmare began. Our insurance is on my wife's plan, and she dutifully paid the invoices as they arrived. Since then we have been getting monthly emails that the invoices hadn't been fully paid; on the first notice, my wife had the payment made, but Dr Budner's office returned the check saying nothing was owed. But the invoices kept arriving every month, for the same amount that was returned to us, with increasingly threatening tones. After some research this evening, there were two separate invoices, and the office may have confused them. Out of frustration, I just paid the last notice, not wanting my credit rating affected for a total of $12. As I said, Dr Budner is a fine enough doctor, and the office visit was fine, but the office operation will keep us away.

The walls are very thin so you can hear everything going on in the doctors office including confidential information. Also I recommend creating a space for patience to have privacy while their eyes dilate. I sat next to a little boy who was also getting his first eye examination. He started to cry when the nurse gave him the eye drops and I could tell he was embarrassed that I was there. The waiting room and exam rooms are a little dated and maybe need to be upgraded.

Dr. Vu explained everything, and sent my results to my referring doctor. My only tip is to park on the street or in the garage kitty corner from the Montgomery Center (Both are currently under construction).
