Dan was referred to us by our realtor. It took a bit of time to get things set up, but we love the outcome. We had almost our entire house painted---all ceilings, walls and trim, except closets (~2500 sq. ft) in 6 different colors. The crew worked very efficiently and had the whole project done in 4 days. They repaired a number of cracks, holes, dents, etc. in the ceilings and walls. It's like a whole new house! Contacted this company in June to quote painting exterior house. They showed up and said they'd send a quote. More than a month later, no quote. Even contacted them again yesterday (7/21/2020) and was told someone would be in contact soon. Nothing. Apparently they don't need the business so look elsewhere. read more

I had to re-schedule my initial meeting with the owner, which I wasn't happy about, and then I had to re-schedule another one later, but the workers finished the small repairs and power spraying/caulking/painting the whole exterior of my house on time. I walked around when they said they were done and taped painter's tape to drip spots, spots that were missed, or whatever, and they did a walk through and took care of everything I marked. I was happy with the repairs and the paint job, and they actually came down on the price from the initial bid when they heard what a competitor had bid for the job. He personally drove out to meet with me and look over my project, and is a sincerely nice guy. After talking with him and everything was cleared up, I had no problem going with Tex Painting as I initially wanted to do. His quote was very fair, and he was also willing to start immediately, which was a big relief since I needed the popcorn removed and the house painted before anything else could be done. Now that the work is done, I'm very happy with it and with Tex Painting. His painters were great and worked very quickly, and the place looks terrific. Was very disappointed to start with but after a long talk with Scott (the owner) we were assured everything will be taken care of and he extended the warranty just to make sure IF we did have a problem it would be handled. These are the best painters we've ever hired to do anything! Patrick is so professional and personable. He showed up right at the appointed time that I booked online for a free bid, wearing a mask and distancing, and took me through everything. The bid was super reasonable. On the day we were ready to start (which I believe happened even earlier than what Patrick first said they could do), he was there with the crew going over all the details. The crew was extremely efficient and knocked out our whole exterior in two days, doing an absolutely beautiful job. Went with Tex Painting based on a friends recommendation. Based on my experience, the crew you receive will greatly influence the end product that they deliver. After reading some other reviews, my experience seems to be different from most. The main problems that I experienced are: --Two rooms were painted the wrong color (they used a color intended for other rooms). We changed up our original plans to make it work by altering the colors we planned for other areas in the house. Not a major issue, we adapted it worked out fine. --They failed to fully cover about 1/3 of the walls that were painted. We marked the touch up spots with blue tape like they requested only to realize they removed most of the tape spots without painting. We repeated this process a couple of times until I got tired of it and started doing my own touch ups. --Several walls had nail holes that they promised to fill before painting were painted over. Instead of filling the void with putty, the crew literally painted over the spots. In many cases, their paint failed to cover the void leaving the same hole that existed before. --Line work between the ceiling and wall is really shaky in several places. I assumed that the pros would do a better job then I can but that was not the case. --Three rooms that were painted one color had very obvious spots missed showing the old color. We asked them to touch up these areas which they did, unfortunately using the same paint can resulted in spots that stood out from the rest. They did fix these over the course of 4 or so more visits which took about 2 weeks in total to complete. These visits were moved, rescheduled or changed more times than I can remember likely because the crew was on another job. They ultimately had to repaint the entire room to fix the problem after constant calls to bug them about the different problems. --They only used their paint machine on the closet which seemed strange considering they painted the majority of our 2900 sq ft house. During the sales process, they made it seem like most of the house would be painted this way to ensure even coats with no surface coverage problems. If they used the paint machine, they probably would not have needed to touch up so many different areas. --They covered areas the first few days to avoid getting paint on things like carpet, furniture etc. After the first few days they were rushing to get to another job which probably explains why they stopped covering the floor and ultimately got paint on the carpet in several spots, on doors/trim areas, light switches etc. They came out to scrub the carpet to get most of the paint out which I appreciated but the rest was left alone for me to fix. I do appreciate them coming out several times to fix a few major issues that I was not able to take on by myself. They did resolve many of the problems that I encountered, the remaining 20% are the ones that made the overall experience very negative. read more

Our experience with Tex Painting was excellent. I can't say enough good things about the team that worked on our house. From the quick response getting the initial quote, to the walk through, to the actual painting itself everything was done very professionally. I was impressed by the attention to detail they used especially painting all the little nooks and crannies of our house. Very easy to work with Barry who provided a quote after reviewing the painting the exterior of our home same day. George's crew of two did a good job which took about 4 1/2 days, they did the power washing and caulking and replacing wood that had deteriorated (which I requested in the original quote). The two work guys did work very long days and were very diligent. I did not rate 5 stars as I had to ask them to clean up the overspray and several places, there was nails that had rusted on a previous repair and metal underneath stone top of a couple of windows that were suppose to have Rust-Oleum applied before painting per discussion with Barrry, it was not. They were to use Hardi boards per the quote and then I was told Hardi does not make something similar pattern to what we have. They did not tell me what type of boards were used but at least the pattern is similar to what I have. I am very picky on jobs being done on our home as I use to do this all myself but I do not climb my two story home anymore. read more

I hired Tex Painting to renovate my older home in east austin , I had really bad issues with the ceilings the texture was obviously a DIY that the previous owner did. it was hideous. George came over and walked me through the steps needed to get it up to standards , it took them 4 days to complete the work and to this day I still can't believe they where capable of making it a beautiful home again. They called back and we set an initial consult appt up. Miguel then called us back and said since it was just a small job (6 accent walls) that he would show up on Monday July 1st and start and complete the job the same day . My husband took the day off and no one showed. We called at 9:30 and the customer service rep (?) said we weren't scheduled for that day but she had us on the books for a consultation the following day . Again-my husband took time off and waited the following day . AGAIN -no one showed up. I spoke with Lindsay -their online help, and she told me she was sorry for the inconvenience and would have someone call me back 'at their earliest convenience'. 2 days later and no call back. From the very beginning, Tex Painting was amazing. I had submitted a bid request through their website. I received a follow-up call the day before the appointment and then, on the day of the appointment, Forrest called to let me know he was on his way. Forrest was really professional and had a lot of advice when it came to painting my home. He quickly assessed what needed to be done and gave me a bid that covered items that other companies said would be "extra" (i.e. doing 2 coats of paint, having more than 1 color of paint). He also added extras based on my needs (to paint closets or not, painting my back door, etc.) and let me have time to think it over before deciding how to move forward. Very easy to talk to and took the time to make sure I felt comfortable with everything. After the lousy experience I had with other paint company bids, I felt like I won the lottery and signed on the dotted line almost immediately. Miguel joined the paint team on day 1 and we did a walkthrough of my home and discussed how they would tackle each room while dealing with my animals, family, and work from home schedule. They were again really easy to talk to and worked around my schedule. Most companies told me the paint job would be over a week. Tex Painting said 4 days max. They were SO FAST, clean, and did a phenomenal job. They made sure all of my items were appropriately covered and always kept me in the know with next steps. Alex, the lead painter, actually helped me make a few decisions and was instrumental in getting the team moving and painting efficiently. Again, another great person from Tex Painting! Everyone on the team, from start to finish, was great. My home is beautiful and I am really enjoying the paint job they did. They did my kitchen which required removing wall paper and painting cabinets and it turned out great. They ran into an issue where it required painting my kitchen ceiling and they did it without charging extra. I had Chris Felder from TEX Painting back to do my living room and ceilings and was very impressed with the painters and the quality job. He was personable, he listened and he advised choices. The timeframe and duration of the job were met. The painters did an excellent job, inside and out, and they kept a clean work site.
