Today was my first time trying Texadelphia at the Richardson Restaurant Row off of Central Expressway. It's a much smaller facility than they had previously off of Beltline, but it's cozy and cool with all of the groovy, fun artwork highlighting Texas cities and pop culture throughout the restaurant. I was the only customer there on a Thursday afternoon, so my service was fantastic. I was greeted immediately. I ordered from the counter and I got a combo with a side and a drink. The "regular" Founder's Special seemed smaller than I remembered, but it was plenty of food. The bread was so fresh and fluffy! It was piled high with my selection of beef, mushrooms and jalapeños, and all of it was smothered with a lovely white queso. Yum! I opted for a side of fries. They are served waffle style. Onion rings, chips & queso, or a salad are also side options for a combo meal. The drink station was orderly and had all of the condiments you might want for your meal too. TV screens are located on every wall. Multiple shows are on at the same time, and I'm happy to report they were all different and they weren't all sports related. Everyone is bound to find at least one screen they find entertaining. Price was $18 with tip. Overall, I enjoyed the changes they have made to the establishment. This is my first time to try the new location at 725 N Central Expressway and I love it!! The inside decor is so fresh and colorful and it just feels happy to be here! I was warmly greeted by Suzet and she was so welcoming and helpful! I placed my To Go order and then checked out the colorful and fun atmosphere while I waited for my order. There is so much to look at and take in! I'll probably notice something new every time I go here. There is even a cute outdoor eating area! I have never seen such a fun and useful plastic cutlery dispenser! There is a cool table top that has beer caps encased in clear epoxy surface! TV's to watch, fun artwork everywhere and I look forward to when I'm dining in again. The dining area was clean as could be. Evi called out my name and my food was ready lickety-split! When I got home, everything was prepared perfectly, just as I ordered! I love their thin chips that are salted just right. They go perfectly with salsa and I usually order their queso, which is so good too! You can customize your cheesesteak sandwiches so they are just how you like them. I come here less often than i used to now. Years ago they adjusted their prices and sizes of their cheese steaks. (i always get a regular chick chz, no onions add mushrooms.. That was disappointing. but i lived with it. Now you have to wait to be seated, and it's not self-serv anything. (formal waiter). So now i'm tipping, and it takes longer to get a drink and condiments .. and it costs more (chips now are extra). I'm gluten-free, so I was prepared to go with the Philly fries, but wings caught my eye instead. I don't typically venture away from what an establishment is known for, but I'm glad I did! I had 1/2 Korean and 1/2 Mustard blend and they were AWESOME!! The Korean had a slight sweet heat, that leaned more towards savory. The sauce was sticky, similar to a BBQ Sauce and sprinkled with Sesame Seeds(Love)! The Mustard Blend was their Mustard Blend Dipping condiment in wing form. The consistency of Honey Mustard, but without the sweet. More like a less pungent Dusseldorf Mustard that works effortlessly with the juicy and crisp wings! I was excited to try this place out because it was my first time trying a philly cheese steak, but I was a little disappointed whenever I got my food. I thought the meat was a little bland, and the sandwich didn't stand out to me. Maybe that's just because I didn't like the cheese whiz, because my other friends enjoyed their sandwiches. There were very little fries the came with my order, and I wish they gave me more. My meal came out to around $18 and personally, I probably wouldn't come back here again, maybe just because I don't enjoy philly cheese steaks. The service was decently fast, and the staff was kind. I came here on a Thursday for the Geeks Who Drink trivia which was GREAT! My group had a lot of fun and it was better than another trivia I had gone to in the area. 5/5 for that! The food on the other hand was just okay. If it hadn't been for trivia, I probably would not have come. I tried The Trifecta (appetizer that comes with chips + salsa + guac + queso) and it was definitely a lot of food, but the taste just wasn't there. The salsa to me was a bit tangy and the guac wasn't salty nor had flavor. I really enjoyed the queso though, so that was good! For my entree I got The Texican with chicken. I enjoyed it at first, but the whole sandwich was just too dry for me. My friends also had some of the same grievances and thought the food was just alright. There are nine cheesesteaks to choose from, plus multiple options of burgers, sandwiches, and salads, including some build your own options. I went with the Regular 8" "Founder's Favorite" beef option, which was pretty big for me. Grilled onions, mushrooms, jalapeños, and mozzarella melted just right. You can choose chicken as well. The Cheesesteak roll was nice and soft. Came out pretty quickly. If you don't order fries it comes with chips.
