Liberty Burger used to be our go-to burger spot when they had their Allen location. Since it closed, we haven't visited their other locations in a while, especially with so many new burger places opening up in the Frisco and McKinney area. This Friday evening, while in Richardson, we decided to finally give that location a try. We ordered the Wild West with jalapeños, the Chilerno with a veggie patty, a cheeseburger, and a chicken sandwich for the kids. The prices here are still lower than most other burger places. Was a close option as we were staying in one of the hotels across the highway. Ended up ordering the food online and bringing it back so there was some heat loss from 2-3 minute drive back but it was nearly ice cold by the time I got into the room. The food had to have been sitting long before they marked it ready for pickup. The food was just ok, the burger and fries tasted pretty bland. I think the fact that the fries are skinny style means the heat goes super quick and to go is not the way to eat them. I used some of their homemade sauces and that kind of helped the burger, but I would try it in the restaurant if I went again. I ordered grilled onions, and they were a tad too large cut which made each bite taste of mainly onion and nothing else. One large negative is that the staff did not say one word to me when I walked in to pick up the food from a simple acknowledgment or if I needed help. I saw they had a pickup stand that had a single order and saw my name so grabbed it and walked right back out. The menu has good burgers, but cleanliness is lacking. I've dined inside multiple times, and yesterday we sat on the patio--it was a mistake. The tile and brick flooring looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months and needs a good pressure wash. Our food was brought out to our table in a timely manner and was hot and fresh! The burgers in my opinion are the perfect size. I chose the Liberty Burger with cheese. This is a basic burger with onions, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes. For my beverage I chose a Heath Bar Milkshake. The milkshake was yummy and the only reason for two stars. It stole the show. I had high hopes after reading some reviews. However, I left disappointed and very unhappy. The shake did help make me feel better so I am thankful for that. I know there are way more delicious burgers out there. For the cost I would have rather had a whopper.
