These guys were great, they moved us out of a two story house with some tricky stairway turns and did a great job of it. They disassembled things and then reassembled them, they wrapped to protect, they were efficient, and they were affordable. 5 out of 5, we will use them again and recommend them. read more

I booked Jackson of All Trades after getting several moving quotes because their $150/hour rate was one of the more affordable options, and a friend had used them before and had a good experience. Overall, my experience was a mixed bag with some definite pros and cons. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m., which I chose intentionally because this was an August move in Austin and I wanted to get as much done as possible before the worst heat of the day. At 8:06, one of the movers texted to let me know they were having truck problems and would be arriving between 9 and 9:30. They kept me updated, but ultimately didn't arrive and start until 9:30, a full hour after my scheduled time. Unfortunately, losing that hour meant much more of the move ended up happening during the peak afternoon heat I had specifically tried to avoid with the early appointment. They also called when they arrived because they weren't sure where to park, even though I had provided parking instructions in my confirmation email. They arrived in a U-Haul rather than one of the company's branded trucks, which I assume was related to the truck trouble. The two movers themselves were incredibly nice and pleasant throughout the entire move. They took good care of my furniture and wrapped and protected pieces thoroughly. Nothing about the handling of my belongings made me nervous, and I appreciated the care they took. That said, the pace was slower than I expected. For context, this was one person moving out of a one-bedroom apartment, not a family or large household, and I had done a LOT to prepare. Everything was fully packed, approximately 30 reusable moving boxes were staged together for easy loading, I had pre-wrapped some furniture and I even moved about 15 vacuum bags out to the truck myself. My old building did require navigating hallways and an elevator, which understandably added time to the load-out. On the other end, however, the truck could park directly outside my new ground-floor apartment with access through both the garage and front door, so unloading was about as straightforward as it could be. The move ultimately took about 6.5 hours. By the end, the Austin heat and humidity were understandably taking a toll and the pace had slowed considerably. Since I was paying by the hour, I eventually told them to leave some furniture for me to reassemble and some items for me to move into the correct rooms myself because the time and cost were continuing to climb and I needed to stop the clock. This is where I'm a little torn on whether I'd use them again. The hourly rate was considerably cheaper than several other quotes I received, but after a 6.5-hour move, I think the final cost probably ended up being similar to what I might have paid for a more expensive but more experienced or efficient crew. Sometimes a lower hourly rate isn't necessarily a lower total moving cost. Still, the guys were genuinely kind, took good care of my belongings and got everything safely from one apartment to the other. I especially appreciated them powering through a brutally hot Austin moving day. If half stars were an option, I'd probably land at 3.5. I'm rounding up to four because I really liked the crew and appreciated the care they took with my things, but the hour-late start, communication/organization issues and the overall pace would make me hesitant to book again. read more

I hired Jackson of All Trades based on a friend's recommendation, but the service was incredibly disappointing. We moved from a 2-bedroom apartment to a house just 6 minutes away. Everything was pre-packed in rented plastic boxes and ready to go. Despite this, a 3-person crew took over 6 hours. For context: a year ago, 3 movers moved my entire 3-bedroom house (twice the size of this apartment) with an extra storage unit stop in under 4 hours. This crew milked the clock. One guy spent nearly an hour wrapping just four basic items (a chair, ottoman, table, and dresser). Items sat staged on the curb for two hours without being loaded. The pace was so slow that we had to start carrying items to the truck ourselves just to finish. Even the crew leader admitted to me that one of his guys was moving too slow, yet they billed me for every single minute. I have reached out multiple times by phone and email requesting a fair refund for 2 hours of wasted labor, and management is completely ghosting me. Save your money and hire a company with a professional work ethic. read more

These movers are not worth your money. The 1st time I booked them, they arrived 2 hours after the 4 hour arrival window they gave me. They were overbooked, & mistakes happen. I get it. I decided to give them another chance and they spit in my face, arriving over 4 hours late the 2nd time. Doesn't help that both times I had furniture damaged in the process. Do yourself a favor & find different movers. read more

I had previously used this company for a move and things were great. This move was quite the opposite. Not only did they not get my time right, which that did refund $100 for, but I have missing shelves, broke dishes, scuffs on my new wall, and found a piece of my bed on the floor. Like everyone else has said, I've called and emailed with no response so a review it is. read more

You can stop looking for a mover right now; these are your people! Brian, Max and Cole were not only prompt, friendly, professional and unbelievably efficient, they also moved every single piece of our home as if it were their own. These are movers who ACTUALLY LIKE MOVING. Watching Brian lead the crew was like watching a composer of a symphony. He could eyeball a piece and know if it was going to fit through one hallway or around the corner of another (he also has things like Ikea furniture measurements imprinted on his brain). Max possesses the magical ability of being both fast and careful. And it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Cole is a Tetris master after watching him work our stuff into the truck. There was not a single eyelash batted when they saw the mountain of boxed vinyl records or our piano. Every question we had was met with a 'Yes, of course" or "Let's do it!" In fact, the guys were so efficient we actually ended up having them do a second run that we had planned on doing on our own (including an aquaponics garden system). Talk about a major bonus when being beat down by the process of a move. On top of all of that, they couldn't have been nicer or more communicative. We felt like we made new friends in the process, something I can say with full confidence has never happened during a previous move. Brian also gave us pricing for one-off needs should we need something like a piece of furniture moved in the future, etc. Shout out to their sister company Bronco Box for rentable crates. The combination of the crates and the JACKson move team is genius, the pricing is right and both companies make the process a breeze. Please accept our sincere gratitude - it's local businesses like this that make me love living in Austin! read more

JACKson of All Trades - Brian and Max moving an aquaponics garden! Just one our many awkward AF pieces they expertly moved. - Movers Near Me

We had an okay experience. Some of our furniture was damaged in the move. They definitely rushed moving us towards the end and didn't do a great job putting our furniture back together. I felt like attention to detail was lacking except for one of the 3 guys that helped with our move. I unfortunately don't remember his name (maybe Matt?) but he had a great attitude and constantly checked in to ask if I wanted anything rearranged. read more

In every aspect of a move - communication, packing, delivering - you name it - Reggie, Brian, and Max are consummate professionals. They are proud of their craft and it shows in everything they do. I have had to move my things four times in the past year and have had pretty good experiences. But JACKson of all trades beats them all. My move: From San Antonio to Houston. Communication: Reggie called me two days before to verify everything. Brian called and texted at each stage - arrival, leaving, 90 minutes out.. Packing/Loading: I was not in SA for the loading but my friend met them said Brian and Max treated my things with respect - followed all special instructions. Delivery: I was concerned about a tricky piece of furniture - Brian "I've been doing this 11 years - we've got this"- -WOW wish I would have filmed it how he got it through the door - still can't figure out how they did it. THANK YOU Reggie, Brian, and Max! read more

Use anyone other than these people. Seriously. My wife and I booked a date with them, packed up our boxes and got ready for the move. We took work off and were prepared. They didn't show up. So I called several times, the number listed on their website doesn't have a voicemail box set up, and finally got ahold of them. Reggie apologized and said they'd be come the next day and they'd take $120 off. Despite being quoted for 3 movers, only 2 showed up. Now I'm no moving pro, but I'd imagine that a move will take longer with one less person. So that $120 off really didn't do much to help us. They broke our 75 inch tv. When we called we were told a mover noticed it but wasn't the one that broke it, so he said nothing. Class act! Reggie admitted liability but also let us know flat out we wouldn't get full value for the tv. We found a refurbished model online and he paid out half the value of that. Again, class act! These people were a pain to deal with, unprofessional, and cost us a lot more than we were planning on spending. Use anyone else. I wish I had just done it myself, a hurt back is better than the migraine these folks caused. read more

I had the best experience with the Jackson moving team. Not only were the gentlemen professional and quick they were friendly and kind. I ended up having dog hair everywhere and it didn't even faze them. Best customer service I've seen in awhile. Highly suggest. Also, they recommend Bronco Boxes (a rental crate business) and they are awesome. Made the move so much easier. Worth every penny! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THEY WILL BREAK YOUR STUFF AND NOT FIX ANYTHING!! I scheduled with this company because it had great reviews. The email told me they would be here from 8am - 8:30am, the guys didn't show up until 9:15am. They broke my great grandmother's antique claw foot desk: broke 2 of the claw feet off completely and broke 3 of the legs beyond repair. They also destroyed the hardwood in my daughter's room. There was nothing in that room before the furniture was moved into there by the moving company. I hired a 3 person crew. One guy did 80% of the work, one guy did 15% and the other guy did almost nothing at all. In the end, I asked the team to just drop everything in the garage and go, before they broke more stuff. With the 3 of them + me and my brother helping moving everything (which I did NOT want to have to do), it still took them 4.5 hours to move my ONE BEDROOM apartment that was literally all packed up, wrapped and in the living room waiting. When I reached out to the company about the damage done to my stuff (the advertise they are insured) asking how to make a claim on their insurance, they customer support person told me that they would send someone out to repair my great grandmother's desk. I was elated. That desk is not replaceable at any cost. They never sent that person out! I asked about the floor damage to the hardwood, they told me that the guys said they didn't do it and THAT WAS IT! They never sent anyone out to look at it or even responded to me after that. I responded, giving them my version AND SENDING THEM PHOTOS, but they just ignored me and I haven't heard anything from them since. Just know that if they break anything, you will likely have to get an attorney before they will fix it. read more

This is our second time using JACKson, and we were happy to see Brian (team leader) was part of our moving group again. Brian, Q, and Max gave us a flawless moving experience, we seriously could not have done it ourselves. They moved a 3 bedroom home like it was nothing, and both the place we moved out of and the new place were 2 story homes. We had complicated items like a heavy chesterfield couch which is pretty old, narrow stair cases, and even asked to do an appliance swap. All in a days work from these guys. The best part, they are a great crowd. We spent the whole day with them and we had a great time. In our new neighborhood, neighbors poked their heads out to see who the newbies were as they walked their dogs, and our mover guys were the first to help us greet our new neighbors and their cute dogs. Q even gave us a bunch of tips about the types of trees we had in our new backyard! They will remain our go-to movers (if we ever decide to move again), and I know a few of our friends have used them as well. Pro-tip: Also work with their sister company "Bronko Box" for a hassle free packing experience. The reusable plastic bins get delivered and picked up where you want, and it is so much easier to pack in the same sized box (various sizes) than the card board boxes you paid too much for or managed to hoard from old Amazon boxes... read more

Top tier service. They arrived a couple of minutes after they were scheduled but it had rained and we all know Austin rain traffic and they called to let us know. They came in, wrapped all furniture in blankets, and got to work. Truck easily fit all our stuff. Moved out and in without any trouble. No broken or scratched furniture. Hard, honest workers. No screwing around or adding unnecessary time. read more

Booked a move with them a week in advance, they gave a three hour arrival window of 12-3pm, day of the move they say they're going to be 1-2 hours late arriving around 4-5pm, then come 5 pm they no call/no show me and don't respond to my texts or call me back. Wonderful experience thank you! Unicorn fit me in for tomorrow (with an arrival window of 9-10am like professionals) read more

USE JACKSON OF ALL TRADES TO MOVE YOUR STUFF! You won't regret it :) I reached out to Jackson after getting some quotes from all the standard players in the industry. After getting a pretty crazy range, I reached out to Jackson after a friend mentioned she got a great deal and great service. I emailed in and had a quote and the service booked within 2 hours max. I was even able to add a stop along the way to pick up a couch I was buying. Brian and George showed up right on time and ready to move. They were so kind, efficient and timely. I wasn't expecting this, lol. They had my 1 bedroom packed up in the truck in about 30min and then unloaded with the couch pickup in a little over 2 hours total. Unreal. Brian and George are rockstars and I really appreciate all their effort and their kindness during this experience. I have recommended this company to everyone I know and will continue to. Oh, and to add, NOTHING BROKE. Nothing is missing. Everything is and was perfect read more

I had a really good experience moving with them. They did not ask me to put down a deposit before my move date, so I was a little surprised at that. I used college hunks last time and they required a deposit before they would set an appointment. Three men showed up to move, and one of them was wearing a bandana. I asked him to change to a mask, because bandanas have been shown to not contain respiratory droplets very well. He didn't give me any shit about it, and he just switched to a regular mask which he seemed to have in the truck. Everything went pretty smoothly after that. I would use them again. BTW, I would not recommend college hunks. They broke something during the move, and told me that their insurance would cover it. But I never heard from anyone after my move date. read more

As a repeat customer, I am totally disappointed with the service provided by this moving company on this occasion. Our initial experience was great, with competent movers, no problems whatsoever, and hence we chose them for our second move. You can even see my initial review below. Three weeks before the scheduled move, we had a clear conversation and mutually agreed upon the date and details. However, less than a week prior to the move, they backed out, leaving us hanging to find an alternative at the last minute. Our building had a requirement that moving had to be conducted after 4pm on weekdays. This that was communicated upfront to the company three weeks when we first started discussing. they were agreeable to this condition. However, they changed their mind last minute, less than a week before scheduled date - saying that having their movers wait until 4pm to start the move didn't work for them. Not sure why this change but we had been upfront discussing them all along. We were led on with constant assurances about the move until the very end and they screwed us. The unprofessionalism and lack of respect have caused us immense stress. This is a stark contrast to our initial experience. I do not recommend at all. read more

As much as I wanted to leave a good review and almost did seeing as how they arrived on time and we're great about moving everything I had down 3 flights of stairs, one of the movers was extremely rude, I don't remember his name, might have been Brian I think, he was the tall white guy with tattoos, he was extremely rude and condescending. read more

Just had my move yesterday and the crew was fantastic! Communicative, polite, and careful with my belongings. They were one of the nicest crews that I've experienced (and I've moved 9 times in 13 years lol). Going beyond just moving items in/out but always cognizant of where I want things placed to make the job easier for me in the end. Very happy I chose to go with them!!! Book it. read more

Once again, I've turned to Jackson to save the day.... and they do it again! This time it was Alex, Esteban, George to the rescue. Really great crew - - professional, courteous, friendly, efficient, and so respectful of our belongings. Delightful guys, it made a difficult day feel fun. The whole process is great, from intake to estimate to messages that help you prepare for moving day. They're well informed about COVID and doing all they can to keep customers and crew safe (yay!), but it doesn't get in the way of their great service. Can't say enough about how much I appreciate having Jackson in town!! read more

Great guys to work with! Showed up on time and got it done! This was not a local move, we moved 125 miles away, but there were no issues and nothing was broken. The three guys were organized and worked together to move everything quickly and carefully. I can't say enough good things about them! read more

Booked with them a month in advance for a move at 8 am, when they didn't show up by 9 I called and they said they had a mix up and would be there at 2pm. There was no apology or explanation. Didn't show up until 5pm. The movers were great and moved very fast. Still, no discount, apology or explanation for being so late at the end of the move. I talked to several different moving companies and specifically chose them so I could move out early and instead I was stuck waiting all day for them. Also, tried to change the agreed upon price when it was time to pay and I had to point it out and show my confirmation email. read more

I was so disappointed with this service on multiple levels. I had called to gather information and book an unload of our PODS container, and the man on the phone told me to go online and request a quote. No biggie. During the call he had told me a simple unload was $160/hr with two men. So I went online and filled out the form, also stating this was for an unload of a PODS container and the "1st address" and "2nd address" were the same address since the storage container is at our home. They emailed me back a quote of $175/hr with two men, which was higher than the quote I was given over the phone. I emailed them back and mentioned that and they changed the quote to $169/hr with two men - not a big deal and they fixed the mistake - great. Then I emailed them asking if it was possible to have a start time of 4pm, and they said yes but that it would be $175/hr instead because it's a specified time which I totally respect. I agreed to the rate and they updated my quote, etc. The day of the move, at 4:30pm no one had shown up so I called. Reggie at first said that they didn't see me on the schedule at all for that day which was definitely alarming. Then he said that our move was schedule for 3pm and that the movers had tried contacting me (they didn't). I told him I had been emailing with someone about starting the move at 4pm and paying a higher rate. Which he said he didn't know anything about. A few minutes later the movers show up. And every time I've used movers, they have always been incredibly professional. Like above and beyond service. I've always had my things really cared for from other moving companies. But the movers that showed up on this day must have been on their last legs. One man was on the phone for the first 30 minutes with his lawyer. All of them kept walking through our decorative tiny hedge fence which is now completely broken. They put boxes down on their sides vs right side up even though everything is labeled. The shelves they carried in ended up being damaged from their mishandling. There just wasn't any care or consideration for the job. We ended up not feeling comfortable with them fully completing the move in the way we had anticipated because they were mishandling our items. Once they left, we saw they had tossed a bunch of their trash on the street in front of our house and left some of their trash in the PODS container. We called Reggie at Jackson of all Trades and tried to give him feedback about his movers and our experience and while he did offer $75 off (which we didn't even want), he also said we were trying to scam him and not pay him (we had already paid). I get that this is a demanding job. That's why I want to hire people to do it and am willing to pay WELL for this service. But the service I received is not the service I thought I was paying for. The professionalism just wasn't there, not from the movers (this could just be the movers we experienced) but it was disappointing to also receive some unprofessional behavior from Reggie. The whole experience was horrible. read more

Updated my original review: I've now been a customer 4 times. It's still super easy to book, and we had a great experience. Bryan, Ryan, and Rubin helped us move out of a townhouse to a house. It was a seamless and stress-free move with them. They disassembled our beds and re-assembled them at the new place, rolled out rugs, and made sure everything was in place before they left. They took great care of all our belongings and made the moving process so much more bearable. They finished everything in 3 hours. Highly recommend!! read more

Jackson of All Trades charged $150/hour for three guys. What struck me is how much care they put into protecting our furniture. They wrapped my Pottery Barn coffee table in saran wrap. They were gentler with my furniture than Longoria Moving was. They moved very slowly in between tight spaces and didn't dent any of my wood furniture. They even disassembled and reassembled our door frame so they could fit our refrigerator through the door. They had a good eye and helped me decide where to arrange my furniture in the new house! After further inspection, I did notice some new dents on my bed frame that weren't there before. read more

We were firmly ensconced in our home 35.8 years. These guys showed up with 2 trucks, and 6 friendly & helpful workers, and moved us out of there and got us relocated to the next county in 7 hours! No damage, no delays, just efficient, friendly, and quick service. Jackson also recommended we rent the returnable boxes from their sister company, Bronko Boxes, and we were grateful for not increasing landfill with 100 boxes. Wouldn't have known about that option if not for Jackson. Moving is stressful: Jackson made it less so. read more

Was looking for a reliable and affordable mover. JACKson of All Trades stood out with their professionalism and excellent ratings on Yelp. I'm so happy with my decision to hire them! They were extremely prompt and arrived on time. Immediately went to work and started wrapping furniture. The three gentlemen were kind, professional, and efficient. My furniture was well protected. Also - I don't think any neighbors heard them even moving my stuff down three flights of stairs! They were careful when moving everything into my home and would ask me about placement for furniture or boxes. The job was done in under 3 hours - I believe 2 and a half to be precise. Best money I've ever spent! The peace of mind they provided me was priceless. Highly recommend JACKson of All Trades! read more

The guys were super nice and efficient. They got in, got it done, and still were friendly and generous! My biggest struggle with them was just a level of caring about the quality of my items. Nothing was broken and they took very good care of everything in that regards. It's more so the level of getting things dirty from not being covered or unfortunately their own sweat. Now, let me jump in really quick, I recognize that it is Texas and it's hot as it is, let alone after moving a 2 bedroom home so I am not expecting them not to sweat. I just wish that some of my items that would soak up that sweat and dirt and get damaged in the process would've been wrapped or better cared for (for example, my mattress, upholstered bed frame, and upholstered chair will all need to be cleaned thoroughly now because they are dirty). Again, I think that a little more care (saran wrap / moving blankets / not dumping water on your heads to cool off) would be simple fixes to avoid this. All in all, I did like the guys and appreciate their efficiency and general care and would book again if I ever needed. read more

I want to give a shout out to Brian, Cole, and Andre, 3 very hard working guys who made moving day as stress free as possible. They worked like a well oiled machine and took extra care with some older/ antique items. Price was reasonable, and they were prompt and efficient. I hope I don't need to move anytime soon, but I wouldn't hesitate to use Jackson of all trades again! read more

As with several others, we had a terrible experience with Jackson Movers. So many broken items! The movers refused to unpack and uncrate items because of the glass! Terrible piano movers with the damage they caused in the tens of thousands of dollars to repair. During the initial packing, one of the packers destroyed the glass covering a valuable watercolor painting. We were told this would be covered. The amount they've tried to settle with us won't even cover the cost to replace that! Glass smashed on a family heirloom China cabinet! Missing boxes! Crushed Stereo equipment! Broken legs on furniture! Beware!!! read more

These guys are super top notch, and I whole heartedly recommend them for moving needs. I recently undertook the unpleasant task of moving out of state, and I needed local movers to load my truck. Right from the beginning, Jackson was cool to deal with and really responsive to any questions. On the day of the move, I ended up having more stuff than the truck could hold because my husband had more in his storage unit than I expected. The team - Brian, Octavius, and George - went above and beyond. They were kind, patient, and incredibly efficient. They were able to get almost everything in the truck! Even more amazingly, they loaded at two locations, one of which I had to be on Facetime with my husband, trying to sort what to get rid of from afar, and they still managed to load everything in 3 hours! The service I received is not what I expected from movers, and I was very impressed. I strongly recommend them for any moving needs in the Austin area. read more

Brian, Corey, and Alex moved us from Austin to Lago Vista on Saturday, October 10, 2020. We have hired movers 3-4 times and this was by far the best experience we have ever had. The team was fun to work with. They were on time and worked quickly and smartly. They were extremely careful with furniture and walls and floors. Not a single scratch on walls of our new house and some of the items barely fit threw tight spaces. The guys were also good with our dog who tried to help them several times throughout the morning. Took exactly 5 hours to complete the job. I hope that we won't be moving again anytime soon, but when the time comes I will absolutely reach out to Jackson again. Highly recommend that if you are moving in/around Austin that you call Jackson for a quote. He sent a team of 3 when others were sending a team of 2. read more

I hired this company because it was recommended by bronco box. The quote seem reasonable for a 3 bedroom 1900 sqft home move, only 3 miles down the road. The day of the move, I actually had one less bedroom set (sold it) than I had on the initial quote. They showed up on time. The move took them over 7 hours and two trips. Very slow moving and inefficient at loading the truck. A move that should have been a max 4 hours (generously) took them 7. I would not recommend this moving company. read more

This was my first time hiring movers and I couldn't be happier. Everything made it to my new place in record time - these guys were fast as hell, incredible courteous, friendly, detail oriented and just so professional. There was a small delay to their arrival because of complications from the first customer and their level of communication was fantastic - they let me know early and kept me updated regularly, allowing me to continue with my plans until they arrived. When they arrived, they flew into action and only needed to be instructed once on what was moving and what was staying. I should note also this was a move from two locations to one and they didn't flinch at the extra complexity. Oh also, they send three movers which made the entire experience so much quicker! Seriously I can't recommend these guys enough! Huge thanks to Brian, Alex and Corey for all of the help! read more

Jackson of All Trades is the best moving company around! The owner Reggie amd his guys showed up on time, introduced themselves and started working.
