I hired Jackson of All Trades based on a friend's recommendation, but the service was incredibly disappointing. We moved from a 2-bedroom apartment to a house just 6 minutes away. Everything was pre-packed in rented plastic boxes and ready to go. Despite this, a 3-person crew took over 6 hours. For context: a year ago, 3 movers moved my entire 3-bedroom house (twice the size of this apartment) with an extra storage unit stop in under 4 hours. This crew milked the clock. One guy spent nearly an hour wrapping just four basic items (a chair, ottoman, table, and dresser). Items sat staged on the curb for two hours without being loaded. The pace was so slow that we had to start carrying items to the truck ourselves just to finish. Even the crew leader admitted to me that one of his guys was moving too slow, yet they billed me for every single minute. Brian, Max and Cole were not only prompt, friendly, professional and unbelievably efficient, they also moved every single piece of our home as if it were their own. These are movers who ACTUALLY LIKE MOVING. Watching Brian lead the crew was like watching a composer of a symphony. He could eyeball a piece and know if it was going to fit through one hallway or around the corner of another (he also has things like Ikea furniture measurements imprinted on his brain). Max possesses the magical ability of being both fast and careful. And it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Cole is a Tetris master after watching him work our stuff into the truck. There was not a single eyelash batted when they saw the mountain of boxed vinyl records or our piano. Every question we had was met with a 'Yes, of course" or "Let's do it!" In fact, the guys were so efficient we actually ended up having them do a second run that we had planned on doing on our own (including an aquaponics garden system). Talk about a major bonus when being beat down by the process of a move. On top of all of that, they couldn't have been nicer or more communicative. We felt like we made new friends in the process, something I can say with full confidence has never happened during a previous move. Despite being quoted for 3 movers, only 2 showed up. Now I'm no moving pro, but I'd imagine that a move will take longer with one less person. So that $120 off really didn't do much to help us. They broke our 75 inch tv. When we called we were told a mover noticed it but wasn't the one that broke it, so he said nothing. Class act! Reggie admitted liability but also let us know flat out we wouldn't get full value for the tv. We found a refurbished model online and he paid out half the value of that. Again, class act! These people were a pain to deal with, unprofessional, and cost us a lot more than we were planning on spending. Use anyone else. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THEY WILL BREAK YOUR STUFF AND NOT FIX ANYTHING!! I scheduled with this company because it had great reviews. The email told me they would be here from 8am - 8:30am, the guys didn't show up until 9:15am. They broke my great grandmother's antique claw foot desk: broke 2 of the claw feet off completely and broke 3 of the legs beyond repair. They also destroyed the hardwood in my daughter's room. There was nothing in that room before the furniture was moved into there by the moving company. I hired a 3 person crew. One guy did 80% of the work, one guy did 15% and the other guy did almost nothing at all. In the end, I asked the team to just drop everything in the garage and go, before they broke more stuff. With the 3 of them + me and my brother helping moving everything (which I did NOT want to have to do), it still took them 4.5 hours to move my ONE BEDROOM apartment that was literally all packed up, wrapped and in the living room waiting. When I reached out to the company about the damage done to my stuff (the advertise they are insured) asking how to make a claim on their insurance, they customer support person told me that they would send someone out to repair my great grandmother's desk. I was elated. That desk is not replaceable at any cost. They never sent that person out! I asked about the floor damage to the hardwood, they told me that the guys said they didn't do it and THAT WAS IT! They never sent anyone out to look at it or even responded to me after that. I responded, giving them my version AND SENDING THEM PHOTOS, but they just ignored me and I haven't heard anything from them since. This is our second time using JACKson, and we were happy to see Brian (team leader) was part of our moving group again. Brian, Q, and Max gave us a flawless moving experience, we seriously could not have done it ourselves. They moved a 3 bedroom home like it was nothing, and both the place we moved out of and the new place were 2 story homes. We had complicated items like a heavy chesterfield couch which is pretty old, narrow stair cases, and even asked to do an appliance swap. All in a days work from these guys. The best part, they are a great crowd. We spent the whole day with them and we had a great time. In our new neighborhood, neighbors poked their heads out to see who the newbies were as they walked their dogs, and our mover guys were the first to help us greet our new neighbors and their cute dogs. Q even gave us a bunch of tips about the types of trees we had in our new backyard! They will remain our go-to movers (if we ever decide to move again), and I know a few of our friends have used them as well. I had a really good experience moving with them. They did not ask me to put down a deposit before my move date, so I was a little surprised at that. I used college hunks last time and they required a deposit before they would set an appointment. Three men showed up to move, and one of them was wearing a bandana. I asked him to change to a mask, because bandanas have been shown to not contain respiratory droplets very well. He didn't give me any shit about it, and he just switched to a regular mask which he seemed to have in the truck. Everything went pretty smoothly after that. I would use them again. BTW, I would not recommend college hunks. They broke something during the move, and told me that their insurance would cover it. But I never heard from anyone after my move date. read more

As a repeat customer, I am totally disappointed with the service provided by this moving company on this occasion. Our initial experience was great, with competent movers, no problems whatsoever, and hence we chose them for our second move. You can even see my initial review below. Three weeks before the scheduled move, we had a clear conversation and mutually agreed upon the date and details. However, less than a week prior to the move, they backed out, leaving us hanging to find an alternative at the last minute. Our building had a requirement that moving had to be conducted after 4pm on weekdays. This that was communicated upfront to the company three weeks when we first started discussing. they were agreeable to this condition. However, they changed their mind last minute, less than a week before scheduled date - saying that having their movers wait until 4pm to start the move didn't work for them. Not sure why this change but we had been upfront discussing them all along. We were led on with constant assurances about the move until the very end and they screwed us. The unprofessionalism and lack of respect have caused us immense stress. This is a stark contrast to our initial experience. I do not recommend at all. read more

I was so disappointed with this service on multiple levels. I had called to gather information and book an unload of our PODS container, and the man on the phone told me to go online and request a quote. No biggie. During the call he had told me a simple unload was $160/hr with two men. So I went online and filled out the form, also stating this was for an unload of a PODS container and the "1st address" and "2nd address" were the same address since the storage container is at our home. They emailed me back a quote of $175/hr with two men, which was higher than the quote I was given over the phone. I emailed them back and mentioned that and they changed the quote to $169/hr with two men - not a big deal and they fixed the mistake - great. Then I emailed them asking if it was possible to have a start time of 4pm, and they said yes but that it would be $175/hr instead because it's a specified time which I totally respect. I agreed to the rate and they updated my quote, etc. The day of the move, at 4:30pm no one had shown up so I called. Reggie at first said that they didn't see me on the schedule at all for that day which was definitely alarming. Then he said that our move was schedule for 3pm and that the movers had tried contacting me (they didn't). I told him I had been emailing with someone about starting the move at 4pm and paying a higher rate. Which he said he didn't know anything about. A few minutes later the movers show up. And every time I've used movers, they have always been incredibly professional. Like above and beyond service. I've always had my things really cared for from other moving companies. But the movers that showed up on this day must have been on their last legs. One man was on the phone for the first 30 minutes with his lawyer. All of them kept walking through our decorative tiny hedge fence which is now completely broken. They put boxes down on their sides vs right side up even though everything is labeled. The shelves they carried in ended up being damaged from their mishandling. There just wasn't any care or consideration for the job. We ended up not feeling comfortable with them fully completing the move in the way we had anticipated because they were mishandling our items. Once they left, we saw they had tossed a bunch of their trash on the street in front of our house and left some of their trash in the PODS container. We called Reggie at Jackson of all Trades and tried to give him feedback about his movers and our experience and while he did offer $75 off (which we didn't even want), he also said we were trying to scam him and not pay him (we had already paid). I get that this is a demanding job. That's why I want to hire people to do it and am willing to pay WELL for this service. But the service I received is not the service I thought I was paying for. The professionalism just wasn't there, not from the movers (this could just be the movers we experienced) but it was disappointing to also receive some unprofessional behavior from Reggie. Jackson of All Trades charged $150/hour for three guys. What struck me is how much care they put into protecting our furniture. They wrapped my Pottery Barn coffee table in saran wrap. They were gentler with my furniture than Longoria Moving was. They moved very slowly in between tight spaces and didn't dent any of my wood furniture. They even disassembled and reassembled our door frame so they could fit our refrigerator through the door. They had a good eye and helped me decide where to arrange my furniture in the new house! We were firmly ensconced in our home 35.8 years. These guys showed up with 2 trucks, and 6 friendly & helpful workers, and moved us out of there and got us relocated to the next county in 7 hours! No damage, no delays, just efficient, friendly, and quick service. The guys were super nice and efficient. They got in, got it done, and still were friendly and generous! My biggest struggle with them was just a level of caring about the quality of my items. Nothing was broken and they took very good care of everything in that regards. It's more so the level of getting things dirty from not being covered or unfortunately their own sweat. Now, let me jump in really quick, I recognize that it is Texas and it's hot as it is, let alone after moving a 2 bedroom home so I am not expecting them not to sweat. I just wish that some of my items that would soak up that sweat and dirt and get damaged in the process would've been wrapped or better cared for (for example, my mattress, upholstered bed frame, and upholstered chair will all need to be cleaned thoroughly now because they are dirty). Again, I think that a little more care (saran wrap / moving blankets / not dumping water on your heads to cool off) would be simple fixes to avoid this. All in all, I did like the guys and appreciate their efficiency and general care and would book again if I ever needed. read more

As with several others, we had a terrible experience with Jackson Movers. So many broken items! The movers refused to unpack and uncrate items because of the glass! Terrible piano movers with the damage they caused in the tens of thousands of dollars to repair. During the initial packing, one of the packers destroyed the glass covering a valuable watercolor painting. We were told this would be covered. The amount they've tried to settle with us won't even cover the cost to replace that! Glass smashed on a family heirloom China cabinet! Missing boxes! Crushed Stereo equipment! Right from the beginning, Jackson was cool to deal with and really responsive to any questions. I hired this company because it was recommended by bronco box. The quote seem reasonable for a 3 bedroom 1900 sqft home move, only 3 miles down the road. The day of the move, I actually had one less bedroom set (sold it) than I had on the initial quote. They showed up on time. The move took them over 7 hours and two trips. Very slow moving and inefficient at loading the truck. A move that should have been a max 4 hours (generously) took them 7. I would not recommend this moving company. read more

Brian, Corey, and Alex moved us from Austin to Lago Vista on Saturday, October 10, 2020. We have hired movers 3-4 times and this was by far the best experience we have ever had. The team was fun to work with. They were on time and worked quickly and smartly. They were extremely careful with furniture and walls and floors. Not a single scratch on walls of our new house and some of the items barely fit threw tight spaces. The guys were also good with our dog who tried to help them several times throughout the morning. Awesome experience. Jackson was great when communicating the setup and logistics. The movers were all friendly and nice, got to chat with one quite a bit while he was also still working fast and hard. They unloaded the truck extremely fast, even though I was on the third floor..
