I have been here several times. Place is rather small but has about 8 tables to dine in. I have had the taco salad, fajita bowl, churros and various kinds of tacos - all excellent. Love coming here when I am in the mood for some Mexican that is close by and convenient. Service is nice and relatively quick when they aren't busy(especially Friday's). I had to take two stars away for the following reasons: - I highly suggest you do NOT purchase a fountain drink. Their fountain drinks need to have their syrups changed, you think you are getting Coca-Cola but it is so watered down. I will add that you are not getting real Coca-Cola, Hi-c, Fanta etc. as displayed on the fountain machine, you can tell this is false advertising and it is not the true soda syrups. -there is garbage overflowing. - almost always when I go in there is garbage on the floor, garbage can is overflowing which makes me believe they only change their garbage once a day (what else are they not doing back there) read more

The chicken they use for their tacos tastes like it came straight out of a can. I also ordered their nachos and they were very bland. Taco bell is better tasting and better prices than texas tacos. Will not be returning to this place. read more

The food here is always great, as is the service. I've ordered from Texas Taco by myself and with coworkers/groups of 10+ people. The staff is helpful, they always give us extra hot sauce and all that.. Whether we pick up the order or have it delivered it's always ready within 40 minutes, and for ten people that's not bad at all. They always make sure our orders are correct, specifically the younger boy who works at the counter. The only downside to this place is that sometimes when you order the soft tacos the tortillas have a "wet" feeling.. Assuming this is from any excess water/juice from the meat or chicken. Best item on the menu is either the chipotle chicken soup or the shrimp tacos. Would definitely recommend. read more

Been here a few times recently, my hubby and I love them so far! He tried the quesadilla this time and really enjoyed it. I always get tacos and never had one I didn't enjoy. Hubby prefers hard shell, I prefer soft shell but both are good. I recommend trying the brisket tacos! Anyone who's been to Texas before knows how hard it is to find brisket up here even half as good as they have it, this one pretty decent!! Tastes delicious in the tacos! Chicken tacos are also quite good. They also have a salsa they make fresh and serve with certain plates we always ask for because it's so tasty! Low cost and delicious, fresh meal. We ordered 5 different tacos, all of which ranged from good to excellent (I highly recommend their namesake Texas Taco). We will definitely get tacos here again. Also grabbed an order of the jalapeno poppers, they were very disappointing, no spice whatsoever, reminded me of frozen ones. One thing that impressed me: I ordered online, went and picked it up, got the food home and we were missing a roasted chicken taco. I moved to the area and I was like omg authentic taco place. When I begged my husband to take me we were so excited about eating tradition tacos. Stopped in for some rice and beans to add to my Mexican leftovers and freshen them up. Wrong request...they told me they couldn't sell me the pint but rather a half pint. Wheb i suggested two half pints equaled the pint and that it would save a container I got blank stare and a rebuke. No beans but black beans (which I like but wanted some of each). Won't go back. I have been here multiple times and each time the food tasted and looked different. I believe Texas Taco has huge potential. They have a great menu, good location, open late, and are priced correct, but their food consistency needs improvement. Food is consistently good, usually pretty fast. My gf and I tend to go on Tuesday nights for taco Tuesday and I have to say the big guy who works behind the counter is great. Works extremely hard, and remains pleasent despite the fact he's doing a million things at once. He could probably use some help behind the counter. Empanadas are really good. Love this place! Cheap burritos that fill you up better than chipotle. They will stuff that burrito and actually have seasoned chicken in it unlike some places that gives you plain dry chicken. I always get their Cajun burrito but I'll come back to try others. By the way the Cajun burrito comes with a small drink and some chips. This is a solid spot for some very tasty Tex-Mex. Portions are good, not too big but not too small and the prices are fair. 2 dollar tacos on Tuesdays are a great deal. Very so-so experience. I had the steak nachos which were 7/10, black bean soup which was horrible 2/10, and rice and beans which were ordinary 5/10.
