I loved to get my steaks here, the atmosfer is great, servise is great. However, I got too bad, new your steaks in a row. It is my opinion the quality of the steak have decreased, and there was no compensation in price. Half of the steak was grissle. The manager was notified at the time. All other food is great. Me and my wife went to Texas restaurant for lunch today. The establishment was clean and the waitress name Kaytlynn was very friendly and professional. She kept our glass full of tea and kept checking on us while we were eating. The atmosphere is family oriented and will continue to come here to eat. Texas Border Grill is a locally owned restaurant in the Macon, Georgia area. It is a good option, though I think that they are trying to determine their identity as either a high end steakhouse or a mid-level steakhouse along the lines of a Longhorn or an Outback. Prices are a bit high for the atmosphere, but the food is good and service is decent (but more along the lines of that Longhorn or Outback level of experience). The pork here is good. Well seasoned and prepared perfectly. You can't go wrong with a baked potato to accompany the pork. All in all, a good option for dining in the Macon, Georgia area. I would definitely recommend it and offer it four stars () for the great experience. read more

I've have eaten here several times, I've never had a meal wow me here. The other night I went back for the 1st time in awhile, the food prices seemed high for what you got and I live in Savannah. I wasn't very hungry so I got the philly cheese steak. I'm glad I wasn't hungry cause for $15 I got sandwich with basically hardly any meat with fries. The sandwich was pretty good and so were the fries but it's not a $15 meal. Honestly a1/4 of the sandwich had zero meat on it. Service was decent but I highly doubt if I'll ever go back. read more

We ate tonight at Texas Border Grill. 4 adults and 3 children. Appetizer fried mushrooms were great!! Fresh bread and butter as well. Steaks were cooked perfectly and all sides were homemade and hot!! Kids LOVED their kids meals. Could not have asked for better food or service. Mattie was excellent as our server!! At one time this was my favorite place to eat.. but the last two time it was awful and they had a very high price increase but my main issue was the quality of the steak tough and fatty and the potato was cold . The female employees are too busy flirting with all of the men than to worry about your middle to old aged order. Women, never go to the bar alone. You will be ignored. Men, this is your spot! They will know your name! They don't mind if you are single, married, divorced, or a widow. For the price, I personally prefer Longhorn Steakhouse and it's worth the drive. So, just beware. We went on a weekday and had a steak that was supposed to be med. It came out well done. It was not ordered blackened, but was So blackened and salty we could hardly eat it. Waitress had no clue about the differences in the steaks on the menu...... had to go to the kitchen to ask. Cheese grits were cold instant grits with graded cheese on top. (Seriously?) Bang bang shrimp appetizer was so greasy it was dripping in grease and came without the sauce as mentioned on the menu said. This restaurant is a welcome spot in the sit down restaurant desert of Hartley Bridge Rd area. The service is always good, the people always friendly, the food always tasty. The menu has quite the selection of beef, chicken, seafood and salad options. The patio is a nice place to dine. They have a nice beer and wine selection, even though the physical bar itself is rather small. My only complaint about this restaurant is that the prices are rather high for the quality and portions you get. Now, the food is consistently good, but dinner here for a family of 3 on a weeknight shouldn't always be $80-$100. We've noticed the menu prices have jumped a good bit since early 2020. Don't know if it was new supplier related, Covid related or otherwise. But, due to the prices, we go a lot less frequently than we used to. Which is a shame because this is one of only a few nicer dining options in the neighborhood. That being said, it is still a good restaurant and worth your time. I would recommend! read more

Today was our first visit to this establishment. My steak kabob didn't come out the way I prefer, so I sent it back. When it returned, it was still not to my taste, but I was going to eat it anyway since my husband had nearly finished his filet by this time. The manager made it a special point to make sure I was a happy, firing my steak once again, & gave me a dessert for the trouble. My husband enjoyed his filet & cheesecake, & we're both fans of the twice-baked potatoes. The bread left a lot to be desired, & I was looking forward to it because of the other, misleading reviews. Great service! Everyone, not just our knowledgable waitress, checked in to fill drinks and clear discarded dishes. We'd recommend it to others looking for a quiet atmosphere, friendly service, & a tender, tasty steak. It's near our home, so we're very likely to return in the future. read more

Travel to Atlanta from Savannah 3 or 4 times a year, and last year my wife and I decided to break the trip up and we started looking at restaurants in Macon GA Travel alot, nation wide, tired of "Chain restaurants" although we admit we eat at our fair share of those as well, always looking for a Local establishment. Craving steak we found Texas Border Grill, What A Gem!!!! We've now returned for our 4th visit! By far, the best cut of meat I've ever had! And I've had everything from Morton's, Saltgrass, Ruth Chris...this filet was and is always the most delicious and tender steak in the business, hands down bar none, seriously y'all need to check this place out. From the bread to the salad, potato, its all Excellent!! We get the surf and turf everytime...unbelievable!! Great people, outstanding service...it's all good!! Met Steven the Manager, great guy! In my opinion this place is NOT what it use to be! We use to love the double fried wings, they use to have so much flavor! Well tonight they were the MOST disgusting .... Tasted like flavorless rubber and NOT to mention the loaded fries were NOT loaded with much of ANYTHING. I asked for half flats and half drums for my wings ... guess what got ALL drums. The waiter sent the manager over whom was just as soggy as the fries(in my opinion) and the ONLY solution he had was to order something else after we had been waiting over an hour for TASTELESS food. Not to mention we got the slowest waitress in the restaurant literally. We asked for our checks which took over 15 minutes with only about a handful of customers left that she was NOT serving! Then she took our payments and headed over to the bar area to ring us up which took another dang 23 minutes! So we walked over to see what was going on and she replied I'm almost done so I waited to sign the receipt. She noticed that we did NOT leave her a tip and screamed "Yeah I like serving people for free" it's not my fault the food wasn't good. We only went for after dinner drinks, but the service was impeccable. A manager greeted me at the door with a welcoming smile and assessed our needs promptly. He took our drink order and made a wonderful recommendation for a cocktail. My friend and I were the only ones sitting outside, the restaurant was packed with patrons, so I worried we'd be forgotten about. Within a few minutes, a waitress came outside with our drinks and was prompt with refreshing them throughout the evening. Such a complete difference than other popular steakhouse in the area whose service is lacking. I will definitely go back for dinner soon. read more

We're frequent diners here, and this restaurant has improved a lot over the last couple of years. Service is always good. Sometimes the cooks can be inconsistent, though; usually we have a good meal, and enjoy it. Yesterday, the new york strip tasted like it had been dunked in butter, and the potato was undercooked. The hot fresh bread is always tasty, although if you're not lucky, it can take a while to get it. Appetizers are always stellar; I've never had one I didn't enjoy! My favorite meal, though is the Amarillo Chicken. A tasty jalapeno chipotle cream sauce with salad shrimp and a perfectly seasoned grilled chicken. It's best with the skin-on cut fries so you can dip them in the juices! This restaurant is almost always full, so it clearly isn't as awful as some would have it. ;) We've always enjoyed it, and while it's not the best steakhouse in Macon, it certainly worth a second try if you haven't been here in a while. Food is awesome! I've never had a bad meal here. The service however sucks! No matter what server I've had it's always been terrible. They never bring the basic stuff and we have to keep asking for bread. They always say "it's in the oven" or "another server grabs it before me". I don't know why anyone else grabs it before them, our table is usually the only one in there, maybe one or two more. I've only ever eaten here on Sunday after church and you'd think they'd be more prepared for the Sunday crowd. read more

Amazing is the best way to describe Texas border grill! Friendly staff and amazing food! We were evacuating patients from the hurricane to Macon, we have been working for roughly 30 hours straight at this point tired, hungry and just burned from evacuating local hospitals and intensive care units. The server was amazing she was so friendly and upbeat she recognized our uniform and told her manger who came over and thanked us for all we do which we really appreciate, then they went even farther with kindness and took care of us for dinner.
