This place is the best. I've Been coming here for years to get their blackened wings and margaritas! Their chips and salsa and queso is also delicious. Let's talk about the wings though. The wings are blackened on the grill out back. They take a little longer to prepare but they are so worth it. My favorite flavor is garlic Parmesan and hector habenera. Worst service ever and definitely experienced some type of racism when we first entered. The host gave us an unnecessary attitude, we were served in water/soda in foam cups while everyone at the establishment were served in the regular plastic cups. Kelly and Kevin own this place and take pride n providing the best experience. This place get jammed pack especially when our favorite sports are playing. They have lots of tv's and great sound system Every time we have gone it's been packed with lots of adults. I have seen people arrive and stand around near the bar even when there are not seats. I would like to tell you how tasty the food was but unfortunately one of the Managers kept me from doing that today. After waiting for nearly an hour and asking a simple question in regards to an empty reserved table (also empty for nearly an hour) the Manager tells my friend that they reserve for customers that have been going to the establishment for over 27 years and that maybe one day he will be lucky enough and they will reserve a table for him after 27 years. Great neighbirhood restaurant! The staff is attentive and friendly, ask for Alicia or Brandy @ the bar. They've got so many choices on the menu, you're bound to find your favorite! The food was good, but we ordered a margarita drink with a "bubbly" bottle off the menu and the waitress had no clue what it was. Note this review is just for their wings and takeaway experience. If you like super meaty wings whether naked or breaded...this place will do! I had an order of garlic parm wings that were breaded and not only were they fried to a nice golden brown color but seasoned very generously. The flavor was superior and not too salty yet not bland at all. The wing meat was very moist and tender. We had gotten the order to go and still, it was very good. Now had I dined in and got them fresh from the kitchen, I can't imagine how great they would've been. They have a lot of other good flavors on their menu too (honey BBQ, honey chipotle, mild, hot, and more). I tend to go for dry rubs and this did not disappoint. Well, today was our last day at Texas Borders. It started out with finding out that one of their long time employees, who worked there for 20 years no longer works there. All because Borders wants to change the "ambiance" of the place. We take it as they want to get rid of the "riff raff". Then mom went to the bathroom and fell on the wet floor and hit her head on the floor and had to ask another patron for help to get back to the table. Not ONE employee approached her to see if she needed help. Is this the way an establishment should be? We will miss the food, but not the poor management. read more

Now, we were seated quickly and greeted/served by a great staff. It seemed like this may be a five star experience. Fried pickles! Really good. However .... My burger was flavorless and poorly put together. The sunny side egg was a hockey puck. Beer selection was good thank goodness and they were showing the Astros game on the screens. Astros were losing, can't blame the restaurant that Altuve struck out, can I?! My daughter says her chicken and pasta dish was really good - sorry I did not note what she ordered. My guess is that if you are drinking beer, watching sports and with a bunch of friends then this may be the place. I'm willing to try that some day. We come here weekly! Always great service by the bartenders and our favorite waitress Karistin. Food is always greasy and hot. Have ordered so many things off the menu and only not liked 1 thing in the years we have been coming. My all time favorites are the grilled wings blackened, chicken teriyaki with broccoli, chicken wrap, chicken fried steak, chicken alfredo with blackened chicken, and also their grilled chicken plate with it blackened.
