The food had great flavor! And actually cooked to our preference, the service was quick and kind and loved how the place was clean. 10/10 will be coming back

Tried to go today at 11:30am. My son and I went in and waited. It says to wait and order at the desk before sitting down. No one was there. My son can't read so I read the entire menu to him including each of the condiments on each burger. Still waiting...and waiting. No one came. We finally left.

Enjoying JLC AIR's Christmas Party.

Thanking Texas Cattle Company for allowing us to celebrate our employees with their excellent food and great service !!!

Dont be fooled by the paneling on the walls! Great and attentive table service. Great aged steaks, in fact, the same as served at Charleys but this locale includes sides on their prices. Cocktails are ok. Great for celebrating special occasions

First, I just started my period today, so please take this with a grain of salt. First, the people are great! The food is great. The price fair for high quality food. So I guess my only gripe...so just be forewarned, they have gone to stand in line and order. Then go to your table. Otherwise a high class place, but for me that was a super low style move. I guess, welcome to the AV. So if your particular like me who needs peace and quite, you won't like standing in line behind every Tom, Dick and Harry, whose wife is a Susan, waiting for them to ask the 13 most stupid questions. Of course this comes while you are sandwiched behind some Loud Tom who is talking so loud on his phone reading the entire menu to his wife Susan, on the other end. I could barely hear the order taker or think straight. If I was really in Texas and could have shot the second Tom, I would've. That all said, the dude who brought me my beer and more limes was so kool i had to change this whole review to just beach about this one change I did not consent too, but here I am. And cuz of the beer dude, I upped my star closer to what they deserved. Ciao.

Brisket and Chicken Combo

One word....brisket. The brisket here is so good! I got the two item combo which is a lot of food. Got brisket and chicken with Mac and Beans. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area. Seemed like a super chill spot with great service. The mananger came out and chatted with me while I waited for my takeout. Actually looking forward to coming back for more. Will prob do the brisket and ribs next time

I actually liked this clam chowder (seasoned well) more than Mr. Picky, so he stole my salad.

Gave it another chance and found some things that we really like. My suggestion if you want a good meal is order a side of onion rings which we did to start, then order the baby back pork ribs. That comes with two sides and my recommendation is that you make both of them the baked beans because those are some of the most perfect baked beans I've had in years, a perfect balance of sweet and sour which really make the taste buds pop! Our waitress was Destiny and she's awesome, super accommodating, and makes sure that you really enjoy your meal. We followed her from another restaurant where she used to work, Pepe El Toro, and so now we're back eating with her because she's working here. For desserts we ordered Strawberry Shortcake and also the chocolate brownie with ice cream on top. On the latter I liked the gooieness of the warm brownie. Our preference was the strawberry shortcake. Dessert was a difficult choice because the mud pie and the bread pudding with ice cream also sounded really good. I guess that's all the excuse we need to come back next time. :-) ----------------- Unposted from past: OK, back to four stars as they are back in my good graces. We shared a dinner salad with homemade blue cheese dressing and addition of onion to start with and that was actually pretty good. Note to self: remember to ask if they can add blue cheese crumbles to the salad because it otherwise doesn't have enough blue cheese flavor. Next up were the Buffalo Chicken Wings with celery and ranch. Don't be put off by anybody telling you that they are too spicy. We liked them and didn't think they were too high on the chili heat scale.

Train tracks from dining room through the bar section.

I wasn't crazy about having a menu board staring at me the second I walked in the front door. I was hoping to be seated and handed a menu. But thanks to the pandemic I guess times change. A person came from the back and explained that we order, pay and then would be seated. Immediately this person asked what we wanted. WOW, not even given a few minutes to look over the menu. So we ordered a few barbecue sandwiches and we're seated. In under five minutes our food was served. Our host / server noticed me taking a picture of the train track that sits around the dining area, above everyone. He turned it on for a lap or two then turned it off. Why not let it run for a while? No sooner we are done with our meals, hardly set out forks down, boom someone was taking out plates away. Don't get me wrong, I like speedy service, we may have been seated at a table but everything else felt like we went to a fast food establishment. Slow Down Folks, Give Folks Time To Enjoy The Enviornement.

The restaurant was way over booked. We got seated 45min after our reservation time. That should of been enough of a sign. But it kept on getting worst. There was a crazy amount of people both inside and outside. We were very disappointed with the food. Look at the pictures before you go. Even the pancakes were hard and burnt, eggs overcooked what restaurant gets that wrong! We had to wait in a line to get to the food only to have to wait for clean plates. We had such a bad experience. We left decided to eat and have drinks at another restaurant on the boulevard after. I called to speak to the manager, but haven't received a call back. Don't waste your money !!!!!!

This is a review in two parts. First, lunch…read more Maxdons claims to have the best steaks in town. Pretty bold statement. However, the place has been around for a long time and the rumor is that it is pretty darn good so I figured I would try the lunch menu. I will be returning this weekend to try the dinner menu and report in on any differences that I may find because this lunch experience was somewhat unique and definitely worth writing about. Upon entering, I was washed over with a wave of nostalgia. It reminded me of all of those semi-fancy places I got to experience with my parents in the 1970s from the lighting to the ambience to the music to the general overall feel, which is very welcoming. And if you are as old as I am, will definitely take you back. And that is a great way to get an appetite started. However, that's when things got a little strange... On a Saturday afternoon, they had exactly one young lady tending bar, working the grill, and acting as a server for not only the interior but for the outside patio area. I'm not sure whether or not this is a gimmick or just a very inefficient way to save money, but let me tell you that that young lady worked herself crazy to take care of everybody and under the circumstances did a fine job of it. Unfortunately, the grill is out in the main dining area and an open fire grill unattended can create somewhat of a safety issue. In addition, an old gentleman well into his cups decided to go over and place his face 6 inches above the food that was currently being cooked, which I thought was a little unsettling. Based on all of this, I decided to order a cheeseburger in that I did not want to risk $50-$60 on a steak that was not going to be attended to consistently. That, dear reader, will come to pass this weekend when I go in for dinner this weekend. Now that we have a basic understanding of the layout, I want to mention a few awesome things: The cocktails were very well made. Generous pours, but they didn't overdo it and the result was delicious. I, myself, enjoyed a Mai Tai. The salad bar was modestly stocked, but did not have a bunch of unnecessary, ridiculous items that people seem to think makes a salad taste better. They also had a soup of the day. But, at 95° outside was not on my list of things to eat. Again, that will be Saturday. The cheeseburger was surprisingly delicious due to the fact that I don't think it was looked at more than twice and flipped more than once, but it was pretty darn good with a great char, and medium as ordered. Upon requesting the check, it was noticed that the dinner salad listed on the menu at $7.99 was charged at $25. After three different conversations, the overworked server / cook / bartender realized the error and immediately made things right. All in all this place is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. The research I did shows that the locals just love it. You can go on a classy date or something casual with some friends, and you will still have that sophisticated, refined throwback to an earlier time when going out to dinner was truly an event. The only concern I have is for a staff member having to deal with several people and wear several hats with no backup whatsoever. The inability to stay on top of a grill that is consistently going in the main dining area is a safety concern, but not the fault of the server herself. This is a management decision and I would definitely recommend that a second person is always on whether it is lunch or dinner. She did mention that in the dinner time cycle, there is another person who comes in to assist and that is the reason I'm going back Saturday. I want to see how the dinner turn and burn works because the burger was really good and I imagine that the steaks are gonna be just as good as everybody says they are. It is definitely worth a visit. Until then....

You get 6 potato skins served with sour cream and Ranch dressing. These were hot and very good. We both ordered the 15 oz New York Steak. He ordered his medium and I ordered mine well done. I confirmed that I could get it well done (no pink) without it being burned. My husband ordered broccoli and baked potato for his sides. I ordered au gratin potatoes and the vegetable of the day which was corn on the cob. I ordered the sugar free Dr. Pepper and my husband a cocktail. The drinks were good. My husband's meal was excellent - a good Father's Day meal. Mine was a disaster. The steak came out very pink (which after returning to the kitchen came back still pink on one end and burnt on the other. The au gratin potatoes were lukewarm and the corn on the cob was not even warm enough to melt the provided butter. They offered to cook me another meal but by then my husband was done. I can't understand how one meal can be so good but the other a disaster. The manager did come out and took $25 off the bill which I appreciated but I told her it was not necessary. The value, had my dinner been okay, was very good. If we could give 1/2 stars I would have given a 3 1/2.

I'm a sucker for "Buffalo" burgers which are actually Bison. The Tombstone sliders are meaty, moist, lean with gooey, melted, apple wood smoked cheddar cheese, soft, caramelized, sweet onion, slice of roasted tomato & Dijon mustard Aïoli (ah ee oh lee). Arrugula leaves mentioned in the menu was missing in action. Very tasty and 2 for $15 in our inflationary times of 2025. Got a glass of house red wine that went well with the Bison sliders. Couldn't eat more than that since I ate the humongous Jackfruit Burrito at Modern Tearoom earlier for late lunch. The Complexity menu has a fairly tight menu featuring typical New American hits: Charcuterie, Fromagerie, 10 apps, 12 mains, 10 sides for the mains. Bar seating afforded me a pleasant conversation with an older gentleman who was into formula one racing cars. Staff service is competent, friendly enough & functional, not particularly punctuated by small town charm. 4- stars
