If I could give 0 stars I would. I paid a Groupon for a CLEANING and INSPECTION for $75. The guy came out and literally stared at my chimney, and told me about 3 things that were wrong, but then said he couldn't clean it because my very normal one-story suburban house chimney was "humongous" and it would be an additional charge, and he couldn't do it. I said that sounded like a bait & switch (I wasn't being rude in any way, almost joking with him) but he was super rude and was like, just cancel the Groupon if you are going to complain. First of all, clean the chimney because that's what I paid for and then if you want to tell me issues to repair, then go ahead that's part of the inspection but then he just left (fine by me, but a waste of my time). For chimney and fireplace work they do great work! Don't bother with vent cleaning. Learn how to do it yourself if you are able to. After we got the dryer vent "cleaned" our dryer did not work. We had to call another company out. They explained he got some of it out but clogged it the other halfway up. We learned how to clean it on our own and wahla dryer now working again! I just bought a house and was scared to use the chimney without a thorough inspection. Ben came out the very same day I reached out. He did an inspection and gave me a few options. He was even willing to work with me on the cost. I chose to go with the most thorough repair option. I felt like he was honest with his recommendations. The chimney has cleaned, gas logs cleaned & rearranged, lava rocks added, painted on the inside, pressure washed on the outside, the crown was fixed, and the mortar between the outside bricks was repaired. We've had challenges with an old fireplace for a while. After we had issues with an initial consultation, Nadav came out and discovered the problem. At the end of the day, these folks just didn't deliver on what was purchased via a Groupon. Was upsold immediately upon entering stating the $70 Groupon was essentially to get them out there and in order to actually do the chimney sweep it would be in the ballpark of an additional $800...wow. Not the most prompt in returning messages as it took several attempts just to make the initial appointment with them. They even forgot to follow back up after initial contact was made. I initially thought that maybe this was a business that dipped their toe into Groupon world and got overwhelmed, but after the interaction with them, I think it's just the way they conduct business. On the positive, the vacuuming of the firebox that they did for $180 was second to none! read more

Dryer vent cleaning. My dryer was automatically shutting off every 3 minutes on High setting. Upon inspection, I learned that the exhaust vent was almost fully clogged. Our home has a chimney that hasn't been used for many years. We wanted to get the chimney cleaned which they did and get a cover and fluke also. The young man who installed the fluke was extremely bold, yelling at me in my kitchen and yelling at my husband in the front yard. The installation of the fluke was poor to say the least. To open and close the fluke was difficult. You had to practically crawl into the fireplace and use two hands to open and close it. He did not want to make it right. He did however make excuses. They're always this tight but with use it will get easier. He implied that my husband was weak also. When I called the office I was told the manager was on vacation. We paid $250 to the office and then we paid the young man $745. This was the cost of a cleaning and a cover. The young man removed the fluke. I wouldn't refer Texas chimney to anyone. It was very disappointing. it was costly as well. I hesitate to give them even one star. read more

Great experience with Texas Chimney in January. Firebox needed repairs due to foundation issues (thank you Hurricane Harvey), so made repairs, installed new gas fireplace and logs, cleaned out chimney that had never been done in 18 years, adjusted and painted top of pipe on the roof. Also cleaned out our dryer duct. I had paid another company just a year ago to do so but by the amount that was stuffed (really stuffed) in there, there is no way it was ever done. Even though my house in in the midst of a flood damage rebuild they still took great care to lay out protective coverings when cleaning out our chimney. We thought our chImney cap was bad, and they were super up front and honest telling us that our 20 year old chimney cap was still in good condition and just needed some repairs below and to be re-sealed. Gas Log Installation - Great Experience! Had the opportunity to work with Nadav and his team this past Christmas Eve (Tuesday, 12/24). We were looking to convert my parent's fireplace from natural wood to gas-logs. Nadav's team, consisting of Simcha and Jose arrived on time and after inspecting the fireplace, offered a few options and we chose the option that was available the same day! Within an hour, we had a beautiful fireplace installed with a new gas pipe and gas fire-logs that we could turn on/off at any time - a must in Texas! Simcha and Jose were very kind, informative and ensured that we were very well taken care of. They provided excellent service and were both professional in their interactions with us. After the installation, they made sure to clean and vacuum the area. All in all, I was pleased with the product and with Simcha and Jose's service! There was a slight issue with the fireplace afterward (a whispering noise that eventually went away) and Nadav was very attentive, willing to come back out and service the issue - on Christmas Eve!
