Wow what a fantastic old school place! The food the service the ambiance they were all spot on! We started off with the carpaccio and when I am moaning and groaning as I am chewing each bite, you know it is good. We both went with the New York strips and baked potato Plus french onion soup for me and Greek salad for her and we were in heaven. This is a must stop! And you have to talk to the 83-year-old matriarch, what a lovely spry woman!

My parent's would go to Maury's for date night, and we always longed to join. Now, as an adult, we frequent Maury's and adore the ambience. The steaks and burgers and salmon are terrific. Mom recently got the lobster tails and enjoyed it entirely. We hope the new owners (whoever they will be) will appreciate the history and the quaintness of the space, and the joy it has brought so many people over the decades it has been part of the community.

For our appetizer we ordered the stuffed mushrooms. They come in a wine sauce so if you are not a wine drinker the bottom of the mushrooms can come off robust. But the mushrooms and stuffing were fantastic. We ordered the cavalier steak and the bomber steak. The sides are usually a side salad with a choice of side. We chose one with garlic mushrooms and loaded mashed potatoes, and the other with mashed potatoes and brown gravy and steamed broccoli. The steaks were cooked perfectly and had so much flavor. Our waitress Elizabeth was so sweet and mindful of our drinks and asking if we needed anything. We actually really enjoyed the low lights and it wasn't too loud. Let's just say we will absolutely be coming again. Thank you Maury's tiny cove for an absolutely enjoyable anniversary dinner.

I had heard about Maury's Tiny Cove for years, but had never been. I was between 3 and 4 stars on this one, ultimately went with 4 for the neighborhood impact this restaurant has. This place is a throwback. Not remotely ADA friendly, several steps everywhere in the place. Maury's has been around for 75 years, and I think they are still saving up for their first remodel. Wood paneling, dropped ceiling, cozy rooms. If you tried to imagine what a west side restaurant institution would look like, it's pretty much Maury's. They bring pickles and dinner rolls to start the meal. Unique. They also serve hanky pankys, which I've never seen on a menu anywhere. They were good. Just like you'd expect. Where it went wrong was the entrees. Our waitress guided us to the chicken or salmon, but we were in the mood for a steak. That was probably the wrong choice. My strip was overdone on the outside, and too rare in the middle, and was not a great cut of beef to begin with. The small filet my friend ordered was described as a 'hockey puck'. Our waitress was great. Super helpful and friendly. Clearly, there were lots of people who enjoy Maury's on a regular basis. The food was three stars, but the neighborhood charm earns an extra star for this historic west side institution.

The foo was great, and the ambiance was very classic steakhouse. Our service could have been better, but all in all a fun experience.

The best adjective to describe Maury's Tiny Cove is mediocre. Everything about it is mediocre. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and the neighborhood are all mediocre. I was really excited to try someplace new, and we drove all the way from Loveland to Cheviot. We had a 7:00 reservation and while the restaurant was certainly not busy, we still had a wait while our table was prepared. Service ranged from attentive to invisible throughout the evening. Our server was friendly but also disappeared for long stretches, leading to a 2.5 hour meal. The wife had the pork chop which was cooked very well and flavorful. I had the prime rib which was tough and terribly overcooked. The mashed potatoes and salad were both good. The cannolis for dessert were the highlight. The place is a throwback for sure. It's like someone opened a steakhouse in the wood-paneled basement of their 1950's house. If you're over 6' tall you WILL hit your head on the drop tile ceiling. In closing, as long as your expectations are as low as Maury's ceilings, you'll probably be satisfied. Otherwise, you might want to try Outback or Longhorn.

Where to begin? We've been wanting to come here for a long time, but just never had the time. Today we finally made the trek and it was 100% not worth it. Granted, we did not have reservations, but there were only two of us. As we waited for a table, we watched the bartender accidentally spill a whole bottle of bourbon into the ice well and he and about 3 other waitresses watched it pour in and kept serving ice from the well into all the drinks, including water glasses. That was really something. The wait was about 10 minutes, little did we know that was the least we would wait for anything all night. After being seated, it took 20 mins for someone to take our drink order. One beer and one glass of wine took another 20 mins to arrive. Then, we waited another 20 mins before our order was taken. My fiancé asked for the slaw as a side and was told " I wouldn't order that tonight, it's not looking very good" , by the waiter. Legit hilarious. Again, Little did we know it would take OVER AN HOUR for anyone to acknowledge us again. No bread, no pickles, no water, not even a " sorry it's taking so long". Once the food arrived it was decent, but we honestly thought the experience was a joke. The table next to us with young children and older grandparents were even more livid than us as their wait seemed to be even longer. I hate giving negative reviews because I know how difficult the food industry can be, but this was just a terrible overall experience. Not sure I'd even be willing to give it another try.

I've never heard of Maury's until recently my Mr started to see a post on instagram that amazed him and wanted me to check it out. Also a friend of mine also did a post of it and it made me want to visit this restaurant more. What drew me in was the nostalgia and everything in the building is original decor and furniture. I also couldn't believe the pricing on the menu. It was ridiculously reasonable and had a good selection of everything. WARNING: Must make reservations. Even if it's on a slow day on a Monday. They are always booked and even their bar area requires reservations. No walk ins. My Mr was smart to book ours a month in advance. You walk in and it reminds me of a Speakeasy. Very small but has alot to offer. It's dimmed but I can tell they keep the place extra clean. No dust in site. They do have an upstairs for dining and bigger parties. Our hostess was Sara Lee and she was so down to earth and helpful. We started off with complimentary homemade rolls and pickles. Wow! What place does this? That's the best starter! Who would've thought this combination?! Brilliant!! And it was delish. We ordered: -Cyclone: Fresh grilled Salmon marinated in bourbon, soy and brown sugar with a side of baked potato -The Cavalier: 12 oz. New York strip cooked medium with a side of salad (blue cheese dressing) and baked potato. -Bottle of Cecchi Sangiovese Toscana 2021 Okay... everything was perfect! My salmon was flavorful and the wine paired well with it. I had some of my Mr's steak. The best New York strip I've ever had. The broccoli and baked potato -simple yet it was cooked just right and not salty/overcooked. The service was excellent. These servers don't mess around. They are SUPER attentive, friendly and all worked very hard. You can tell. Everyone looked happy. I have to say that this is the only place I will make the far drive to on the West Side. I am never in this area. West siders should be very proud and lucky they have Maury's. You can tell the clientele are all locals. I truly loved the feel and that it's very laid back. You don't have to be super dressed up to come to a nice restaurant. Honestly, if you'd asked for my opinion, I like it way better here than Jeff Ruby's. It's the vintage setting, food, setting is laid back, excellent service, and cheap pricing? All that in one? Who wouldn't want that? I can't wait to tell all my friends about this place! We are definitely returning..... very soon!

Came here during restaurant week just to try the restaurant and can say I will be back!…read more I ordered the Ceaser salad with the short rib empanada and short rib gnocchi. The Ceaser salad was the best Ceaser salad I ever had! The short rib empanada and the gnocchi was good as well but the gnocchi was covered in scallions. That wasn't stated on the menu or by our server when I asked if onions were in the dish, so unfortunately I did have to send that back and have it remade then ate the rest once I got back home. I also tried the Black Angus NY and it melt in my mouth like butter. They were busy and it did take a while for the food to come out but the wait was worth it.

Our next trip to Cincinnati; It will be extremely difficult to stay away from here. We spent the day in Newport and around Cincinnati and wanted somewhere nice for the occasion. I was iffy on this place at first... you can throw a rock all over America and hit a place with 'Barrel' in the name these days. The Yelp reviews swing both ways here but I'm here to tell you my take... because it swings so far towards the 5 stars that it's very much a 6 or 7 star place(maybe more). We gauged our arrival time based on other activities that day. We wanted ample time at the nearby Lego exhibit so when we arrived there, we made a reservation for 4:30-5. Eating early and making our way back to Louisville was a great idea. The entire time we were there, no one else came in so we had the entire place to ourselves(It was a Friday). The atmosphere is homey but during busy times, I could see it being noisy. The booths could easily fit 6 people comfortably... probably 8 in some cases depending on how wide some of you are. Special Note: This place highlights The Parrillada Experience for Two on their menu and we wanted it! We didn't order it because at a price tag of 130-and pictures online, we didn't want it to be a failed outing. After our first trip, The Parrillada Exp will be on the agenda next time. It's a mixture of different steaks, sausages, shrimp, sides, and salads. Definitely worth the cost. On to the food: Sausage App - Argentine Chorizo. Farmhouse Sausage. Grilled Ciabatta. Hearts of Palm. Green/Red chimichurri. Pepper Relish. I don't like ordering this type of dish when I go places because you never know if it's going to be delicious or very bad. It ended up being super delicious. We couldn't make up our mind which sauce we liked the best and which meat we liked the best. App PERFECTION! Land and Sea - This is what my wife went with. Asada Skirt Steak. Jumbo Shrimp. Asparagus. Red chimichurri butter. I had bites of the shrimp and it was good. I had to save room for my dish. Wagyu Denver Cut - I went back and forth. Lobster ravioli being on the menu almost made my decision instant but I was going back and forth between ravioli, steak, and a few other things. I asked the server which he recommended of the 4 Chef's cuts. He recommended two... one of which was the Wagyu so I went with it. I wasn't disappointed AT ALL. He mentioned that the Wagyu Denver Cut was a new addition to the menu... I'm not sure but you could definitely tell it was cooked, arranged, and presented with care. I savored every angle of every bite. We also ordered a side of brussels because of course! Originally we were going to dessert somewhere else but went ahead and ordered the Hazelnut Vanilla Creme Brulee here. Perfect ending to the meal. This brulee was light and had the right amount of crunch. It was also larger than expected. We had no complaints with this place. Easily one of the better restaurants I've had in Cincinnati. If you're doubting visiting this place, take the dive! Other notes: They have beer and a small cocktail variety but they primarily seem focused on wine(plenty of options to choose from).

It was sweet and acidic while also slightly rich because of the pig fat. The meat in it was a little tough and was a little unpleasant to chew when i got a big clump of it. I would recommend trying the food here. For service, at the start my server got my order and everything in pretty quick so no complaints. After he took my order, i did not see him at all during my entire meal. At the end, it took 20 min for me to get my check and pay. I saw my server standing there talking with his coworker for the entire period while i was waiting for him to come by for the check. Even after i got the bill, it took another 10 min for them to take it and cash me out because they were chatting with each other. I shouldn't even have tipped because all he did was give me a water and take my order, he didn't even bring the food or check in with me. Overall i think the restaurant is a 4/5, but my service experience brought it down a star.

Both were friendly & acknowledged the birthday girl in our party. Atmosphere is great. You could comfortably walk in wearing jeans or come dressed up. Neither would be over or under dressed. The menu has juuuust the right amount of options, which is great! Heather was our waitress & while she was kind, her service skills were lacking. Granted we weren't at a Michelin Star Restaurant, but we also weren't at a dive bar. There was an endless amount of awkward reaching through, over & around when refilling drinks. There were a couple of instances where she actually touched our shoulders to nudge us to the side so she could reach through. Totally not okay during service at a restaurant nicer than a dive bar. We ordered the cheese sticks starter which were so yummy! Highly recommend! A couple of us ordered the Cesar side salad & were highly disappointed. The dressing tasted like it was mayonnaise heavy & then watered down by lettuce that wasn't dried after being rinsed. Even adding tons of extra pepper didn't help. The lettuce also tasted like it has been too wet for too long. The lobster mac was ordered in the group & it was tasty but soooo greasy. So, order with caution. We had the Black N Bleu salad in the group & that was good. The Atlantic Salmon was another dinner ordered & the crust seasoning was delicious! Sadly, the salmon was a bit overdone. It does come with a lobster cream sauce, which confused me. It was only so so & I definitely skipped it entirely. The steamed broccoli was done to perfection though. Not soggy & not too crunchy. We also had the 12oz ribeye & that was great! Flavorful, cooked perfectly! I will add though, that the steak knives need an upgrade. I really wanted to love this place, but we won't return on our next trip to Newport/Cincinnati.

I would have never ordered this on my own so it was nice to try. I am a not a huge seafood person - the minute I cut into it I smelled the sea which was a turn off and I wasn't a fan of the texture but once I cut into tiny pieces and mixed with the sauce and the proscuitto I was able to actually find myself enjoying the dish plus boy did it look pretty coming out! The chefs table is nice because you get to watch everything be cooked - the mac and cheese looks amazing every single time - omg I must try it sometime. The steak was so juicy and cooked perfectly - I think next time I would get a larger steak or the grilled shrimp option as I wasn't the biggest fan of the lobster tail but still finished it. The salad was okay - I wish it had ranch instead. I also got the orange cream cloud for dessert to go which was shockingly light, airy and delicious - the citrus flavors with the passion fruit are so refreshing. It's got that coveted feel of cozy mid century modern, while the decor says you could have wandered in for a nice steak after driving out west headed for the desert. The chairs were very comfortable at the high top we were seated at, which isn't typical. The standard seating chairs were beautiful and looked even comfier! The massive wooden and brass bar is definitely the star of the show, and was packed the whole time we were there. My husband got the Dame Prue as his cocktail, it was gin based with rosemary and fresh flowers. It was beautiful and he said it was delicious. For the appetizer and salad, we split the foccacia bread and butter board with the herbed butter, ruby butter, and cowgirl butter; and each had caeser salads. I can honestly say it was THE best Caesar dressing I have ever had, and I'm a caeser snob. The "half" salad portion was definitely larger than any other side salad I have had recently. For dinner, we split the 24oz T-Bone, Mac and Cheese (the smoked gouda takes it over the top decadent!), and thyme braised onions and mushrooms for our entree and sides. For dessert, we got the Tres Leches cake to go, because neither of us could eat another bite. They were exceptionally busy tonight, but our server Becky was apologetic and kept us laughing. We were willing to wait for a truly farm to plate meal, and the wait was worth it. I am itching to go back and try some of the other options on the menu, it was hard to choose between all of them! Chef Madeline has outdone herself with this menu and revitalized restaurant space!

Our server, Becky, was so sweet and seems to thoroughly enjoy working for Maddy & The Lonely Pine. Great dirty martinis and I recommend their espresso martini as a dessert drink! We had our steak with the ruby butter (very bright flavors), herb butter and horseradish cream sauce. Paired with the cesar salad, everything was a flavor bomb. Over exceeded my expectations as it is a more laid back cozy vibe. Very happy to have been recommended to go there!

They allowed us to bring our own cake. They brought it out on a cake stand for pictures and then took it in the back to cut and serve it to us. They also had a card on the table for my parents. It was a wonderful celebration. Dishes that we tried tonight that were new to us: Mushroom Bisque - 8/10 Bread and Butter - 7/10 Burger - 6/10 Scallops - 7/10 Cannelloni - 8/10 Coffee - 5/10 Our favorites remain the fries with the delicious sauce 10/10 and the vodka rigatoni 10/10. Best smelling bathrooms in the city. Love the house wine, the bar, the patio, and the service!

The first time we went they gave flowers to all the women for Mother's Day. This time though they're weren't flowers, they were very accommodating. My grandmother had an issue with her food, they remade the entire meal though it did take a while they gave her a treat for the long wait. The server and manager were very friendly and apologetic for the inconvenience. The food is 7-8/10. It always comes out fresh and plated nicely. I ordered their chicken sandwich and that was good! My family shared a lot of our entrees, I feel their poultry and seafood are their best. The pork chop though tender, wasn't incredibly tasty. I have not tried a beef dish. The dessert was delicious! The manager recommended eating the pan a cotta and pan de crème together and that was soooo good! It was a nice, light dessert but very tasty! I would definitely recommend trying it
