I hired Jason and his company to expand my top deck and to build me a water-proof ceiling…read moreunderneath the deck. He suggested we use Deckorators Composite Materials for waterproofing the deck. During the 1st rain after the deck was completed, we had water leaking from the ceiling and from where the deck connects to the house. After many attempts to reach Jason, he finally agreed to come and look at the problem. He saw where the slats were to far apart and water was coming through. He agreed to have his team come back out to fix the problem. They attempted to push the slats together and caulk around the end of the deck where it meets the house. After the next rain we had the same problem and Jason stated that the problem lied with the composite material he suggested, and they were faulty, and I needed to take the problem up with the manufacturer and he had no intention of losing money on this problem. I contacted the manufacturer, and they stated the fault was not in the materials, but the workmanship and they were not at fault. I have been contacting Jason for over a year to fix this problem and also to fix the slats from the ceiling that are bowing out. Jason does not respond to my calls or text messages and recently answered the phone serval months ago and said he was heading out of town with his family (his favorite excuse) and he would come out when he returned, never head back from him and continued to reach out and he finally responded a week ago ( having dinner with his family) and stated he had no intentions of taking a loss and I need to use this new product to fix the problem. I am writing this so that you future deck owners are not swayed by his promise of being available and is a family-owned business who cares about the customer. He does not, only cares about the profit he will make if its good or bad work. The deck comes with a 5 yr. Structure warranty, and he still will not hold up to his responsible. So, I highly advise you to look elsewhere for a reliable person and company that will build you a deck worth your investment. I have also attached some pictures of the work and problems.

We hired Herbert H Construction for four projects…read more 1. Our garage is a HUGE waste of space. The ceiling is at least 20ft high, so we are having them add a floor to it. The job is almost complete and we are VERY happy with it so far. 2. Install a buffet cabinet in our dining room and install countertop. 3. Remodel our kitchen. The kitchen remodel will entail replacing granite countertops, lowering part of a countertop, replacing backsplashes, fixing drywall, moving electric and plumbing, installing an electric cooktop, and painting existing cabinets. 4. Fix drywall in half bath and repaint. The garage project is almost complete and the buffet cabinet was installed. All that remains is the kitchen remodel, the buffet countertop and trim, and the bathroom repainting. This company is the best contractor company I've experienced in my 62 years of life. They are communicative throughout the process. The company's namesake, Herbert Hernandez, was our first contact. He worked with us throughout the design/idea process, made sound suggestions and recommendations, provided us with a sensible, affordable estimate, and presented an excellent plan and schedule. The project manager, Mario, is on site regularly to check on progress, to answer questions, and make recommendations/suggestions. The job supervisor, David (Herbert's brother), is fantastic, as are Raymond and the other guys, whose names I can't remember right now. Their work ethic is superb, and they are 100% customer oriented. They're on time, they work hard, do excellent work, clean up their messes, talk to us throughout the work, and far exceed my expectations. Unfortunately, the workmanship behind the appearance felt rushed and required more homeowner oversight than expected. During framing, I had to raise several quality concerns that should have been caught by the crew, including misaligned roof framing, multiple anchor bolts with a split bottom plates, boards not sitting flush, and general issues related to a rushed job. These were not cosmetic issues, but basic workmanship and quality-control items. They also committed to returning to seal around the windows and have not followed through, leaving that item unfinished. It's been over two weeks since final payment. My advice to future customers is to inspect the work carefully as it progresses and not make final payment until all punch-list items are fully completed and verified. Once payment is made, unresolved items may remain unresolved. I also recommend reading some of the more critical reviews, as similar themes appear there as well.

My wife and I decided to have our 1980s bathroom updated and have it more senior friendly, and from…read morerecommendations from a neighborhood facebook group we found Todd. Todd is the owner and president of the company and he came by to look at our bathroom and hear about what we envisioned for the remodel. Todd showed up on time for our consult, and was very friendly and knowledgeable, we discussed price and materials and came to an agreement on what we needed our budget to be. Todd wrote up a quote and contract, we reviewed and signed it, and agreed on a start time for the project. We met Todd at a material store and picked out all the tile and discussed fixtures. Todd has a cabinet maker that works with him and this worked out because we had a custom vanity in mind. The representative from the cabinet maker came by and got all the dimensions and finish choices that we requested. This remodel was going to be down to the studs, replace the tub with a walk in shower, plus a modification on two existing walls, and the installation of a door between the bedroom and bathroom, so it was a major project, but Todd assured us they were up to the task. Todd's and his crew showed up on the day we agreed on and after introductions, they got to work. Todd estimated 2-3 weeks, and they finished exactly at three weeks. Because of the new wall in between the bedroom and the bath, the bedroom walls were painted completely so everything matched. We also had custom shelves in our bedroom that had to be taken down while they painted, and they reinstalled them when they finished. Mario, the lead craftsman on the project was amazing, he truly a master craftsman who can do it all, carpentry, tile work, plumbing and electrical, and his helpers, Noe and Steven were very good also. The vanity top was custom cut by one of Todd's vendors and he did an exceptional job. Overall we love our bathroom, it is exactly how we envisioned it, and would recommend Stiefvater Construction highly. Todd went above and beyond managing the project and was very open to us picking out all the tile styles and paint colors. He checked in on a daily basis to see how everything was proceeding, and always kept us updated. If you have a construction project we would highly recommend you giving Todd a call, we are sure he could help you achieve your vision.

We were extremely pleased with our decision to use Legacy for our kitchen remodel!…read more After moving into our home eight years ago, we had a general idea on what we wanted to do with the redesign, but still needed help with completing our dream kitchen. The first step was Legacy sending out their design consultant, Ashley. She came out and spent enough time to not only take measurements, but also to fully understand how we use our kitchen and what style we were looking for. After a few consultations and a visit to their showroom for final specifications, she stayed involved throughout the project to ensure our satisfaction. Our project was a complete overhaul of our kitchen, and it took about eight weeks. One of their rules is that they don't start the job until ALL of the material has been received. Additionally, there were only 2-3 days that some work wasn't being performed. Their project supervisor was Augustine, who also was very diligent in overseeing the project. He would continuously stop by to monitor the progress as well as being accessible by phone/text during all times of the day, responding to questions and requests. The team was very attentive to minor adjustments due to construction 'discoveries' and ensuring that no shortcuts were taken. A special recognition to Cody, who we voted their MVP, as he is a very talented person who is skilled in most all of the trades. At the end of the project, there were only a few things on the punch-list. A couple of them were so minor that we felt a little silly in asking for the resolution, but they handled them without issue and made sure that we were 100% satisfied. While there are other companies out there that would quote a lower up-front price, we are quite certain that we would have been less than satisfied, and still probably had spent the same or more money in over-runs. We highly recommend Legacy for solid consideration for any of your remodeling projects!

During the quoting phase of our renovation project...I was initially hesitant to choose Legacy Bath…read more& Kitchen as they were the highest of 4 Bidders on our Master Bathroom project. However, after several discussions and e-mails with different Legacy personnel (including the Owner), I was convinced choosing Legacy was the right thing to do! And was I NOT disappointed...every aspect of dealing with the Legacy Team Members (Mark and his assistant Daniel) doing our bathroom renovation was a pleasure. Not only did Mark and Daniel's workmanship exceed our expectations, they were respectful of my home and family and the knowledge of their craft was top notch! They were honest, forthright, and a pleasure to deal with! The excellence in workmanship and quality of the Legacy personnel has been absolutely FIRST RATE! We had a problem with one of the Cabinets that was installed at the very end of the project (not done by our primary crew). Legacy immediately agreed the workmanship did not meet their expected standards and they are in the process of correcting the problem. I would definitely recommend Legacy to anyone planning a major bath or kitchen reno. Our Bath renovation involved several complex tasks which I would not trust to a General Contractor. They executed each task flawlessly. 1) Legacy needed to add a new 3" drain for the Jacuzzi tub which required cutting several feet out of the foundation which included tension cables. 2) the flooring tile involved laying them down at a 45 degree angle, with varying patterns. 3) the floor of the shower was a very complex mosaic pattern which had to be laid piece by piece and was done to perfection. It took the guys almost 1 hour/sq ft to lay. We will definitely use Legacy on our next renovation!
